They answered my call the first time and were able to fit me in the same day. The gentlemen that came out were professional and friendly and went above and beyond to explain the situation to me. Even though my A/C unit was beyond repair, they explained the electric wiring that likely caused the issue and how I could address it to prevent future problems. They took down all the model parts and told me to call them when I was ready to have it replaced with a compatible unit, which I'll be doing soon. They also told me how to avoid starting a fire in the meantime, which is pretty useful info. Prices were reasonable, especially given their thoroughness and the extra time they took to explain everything. Please save your time and money and look elsewhere. First, I had an appointment for 10:30 AM and he didn't arrive until 2:30 PM. I don't feel confident with the thoroughness of the inspection James performed and I am also left with a damaged stove top (accident of course but the fact remains - it's damaged). I agreed to the high price of $475 because I thought I was getting a high quality inspection from a trustworthy mechanic. I was told my refrigerator wasn't working, but when he left, I was able to get it working on propane which tells me he didn't check that. That left me no confidence in his work nor that the propane system was properly assessed. He didn't check for leaks in the propane system. Further, he left my furnace on which kicked on and started blowing in the middle of the night. I let James know about these errors and he defended himself. He offered to fix the stove when he came out to perform other work in the future but I am not planning to hire him again after this disappointment. How would you feel if after the person completed the job and you paid them only to find the job was incomplete and not only that that your property was damaged? Do you think that's fair for me to pay $475 for the service that was not thorough and left my property damaged? At least he showed up and did some of the work? He spent at least 2 hours maybe 3 on it. read more

Very good service-- James knows everything about RVs, and was able to respond quickly to my service call. He also was able to walk me through the basics in the RV, showing me how to use it properly, etc., when I asked, and was patient and thorough in his explanations. The service is a bit pricey, but after surveying a few friends who have used other comparable services, they are all kind of expensive. Would call them again, however, and I feel confident they are knowledgable and honest. read more

Our trailer's sink stopped up. We took apart the plumbing below the sink to clear the blockage. After that, we were unable to put it back together without leaks. Avoid at all costs!!! Complete waste of time and money!!! My slide out needed a cable replaced so I called James, he came to take a look at it. I could tell he was a little confused on how the system worked and how to fix it. He spent a total of about 15-20 minutes poking around, walked around the trailer twice and then told me that he could fix it all he needed to do was order the right cable. He charged me $125 for the service call, and said he would order the part and come fix it the next day or two days later. I understand having to pay a service call, but after I paid him I never heard from him again. he completely left me hanging. I called him 3 times and left a couple messages but nothing. If you cant fix something be professional enough to say that. Don't charge a service call to do nothing, then promise that you can and will fix the issue. read more

Fred came to confirm his diagnosis of our propane leak. He found the leak very quickly and determined that the regulator was causing it. He replaced it, checked that the leak stopped then cleaned everything up. I would highly recommend them for your repair needs. read more

Called them out to my house to look at a water heater for my 5th wheel. My 5th wheel is a 2004. I was told that the water heater was no good and it would cost approximately $3,300 to get a new one and have them install it. I paid them $125 service charge which is acceptable. I called Dometic and they gave me the replacement part number which would fit my rv. I ordered the water heater from Amazon for $550. I then called another mobile repair to come and install it. Steve came out checked it and said the control board was bad. Replaced it and tuned it and it works great for $350. Sent new water heater back to Amazon. Would not recommend Camper Keepers for anything. read more

This guy is a joke!! I thought he knew what he was doing but come to find out NOT!! There are so many negative thing I could say but I'm gonna stick To the simplest one he should've gotten right. I had him come out to do an inspection before buying an RV so it was very important that he knew what he was doing. He told me that the AC did not work. The issue was the AC needed more amps than my one generator to work, or to be plugged into an outlet to work but instead of him, knowing to do that, he just told me it didn't work. When checking to see if things that use the generator work, you should probably have an extra generator on your truck just in case. Or at least plug it in. How else will you know that it's not working if you don't put enough power to it!! He said stove didn't work, propane had a leak but didn't know where. He said they could run me up to $1200 to get the propane gas working correctly. When he checked my oil, he told me that it was very very low when in all actuality, it was about a quart lol. So I found a place to take it to come to find out the refrigerator was unhooked from the gas, which was what was making the gas leak or the propane. So this place found where the disconnect was reconnected it filled my propane tank. Also made sure the stove, the hot water heater was working properly. He also said my hot water heater didn't work, but duh I had no propane getting to it dumb ass and also I even asked him doesn't the water heater have to have the propane working correctly ?!!? Oh no, it just doesn't work. He is such a pompous person!! I ask him with you knowing everything you know with this RV how much would you pay for it and he said he wouldn't. Run don't walk away from this mobile RV service ! Put down the phone and save yourself the potential of spending $1,000's to repair his bad work! Especially if you have an airstream, seriously. My airstream will never be the same because of his lack of expertise. (I would not trust them with anything mechanically). Here's the details of my story, 07/2022 James Negrete from Camper Keepers came out to repair a leak inside my 16' airstream from the roof AC unit . I had to leave & the 2 men who seemed to have identified the problem and I requested an update via my phone. When he did reach out it was with the bill (2 hrs. total $425.) and told me it was repaired. Fast forward 5 months later when I had my airstream serviced at Airstream LA.. They were doing a comprehensive inspection, including the AC roof unit. The AC unit after Camper Keepers repaired it no longer was attached on the ceiling evenly, like it was previously. Airstream informed me that the roof was dented badly and that was why the AC unit no longer was evenly attached from the ceiling side. Airstream LA were also concerned with leaking from the dent/damage to the roof. Airstream asked If Camper Keepers were aware of the Proper way to navigate the roof And only one person should be on a 16'. (I said I had no idea). That's when I discovered My son & daughter in law seen both of the repair men from Camper Keepers on the roof! Airstream said that should never happen on a 16'. The cost to repair the roof completely was $17,000! I choose the $1200 with pulling the dents and resealing The roof. It wouldn't be cosmetically perfect and it would be sealed. When I called James a month later he said, "Your family doesn't know what their talking about and we both weren't up there!" He said it was already dented and he wouldn't pay a dime. I explained that the AC unit before his repair was attached evenly. He didn't care. Bottom line he refused to pay anything. I paid a very high price for his bad work! read more

This is a follow up to a review that I wrote three months ago. I gave a stellar review of James and I have been hesitant to write another in the hopes that he would contact my husband or I. However, as we were on a camping trip recently and our slide out still wouldn't go out, I became fed up, which led me to write this review. We spent $3000 for him to fix the issue with our slide out. Yes, it did work at our house on the day it was done. Before he left, I asked again, what if it doesn't work on our trip. He said that it would and if something happened, to get ahold of him. Plus, he guaranteed his work for 30 days. Well, on our first trip, still under the 30 day "guarantee of his work"window, the slide out didn't work. It was worse!!! I contacted him right away and he was very kind and let me know that he would make it right. We sent him videos of what was happening and he told us that he would have to get back to our place and take more measurements of the work he did. When the conversations started going back and forth, I knew something was up. My husband thought otherwise, but again was giving him some time since we did live over an hour away. Too long of time, in my opinion. We even offered to take measurements ourselves of the H bars so he wouldn't have to drive back out to our home, but I knew when he did not respond to this suggestion that he had no desire to "make It right." We have taken our rig out a few times since then and it's worked once. We've had to push out our slide out by doing it the emergency way. We feel sick to our stomach spending this much money. We thought we could trust him. He fed us all the right info to believe that we finally found a trustworthy person and better yet, a "man of God" in his words to fix our slide out once and for all. Just saddened that I had to write this, but I couldn't let someone else get suckered out of so much money. Three thousand dollars, you took from us James and so much more since you never made it right. We would've even taken some money back to help offset what we will have to pay another local person to figure out what's wrong. Back to the drawing board. . . read more

I had a problem with my slide out that was approximately a year and a half old. It was jerking and I was worried about it breaking. I usually do a lot of work myself but was definitely not familiar with a slide out. So after doing my homework looking for the right help I came across Camper Keepers that have fantastic reviews. James and Fred came over and fixed the slide-out back to it working properly and also helping me with a few other items on the travel trailer.
