Okay I am probably being g hard on these guys. It's more me then them. This looks like a nice family run place. And it was consistently busy. I am from Ohio. I am only in the area and in Texas for business for a few days. Looking for something unique to eat. Good ratings so I came here. I ordered the chicken fried steak. I have never had chicken fried steak in my life. It was way too much for me. Not really what I would order again. Not the restaurants fault. It was good. Lots of food. Very heavy meal. Not something I'd get again. Just not me. That's why I am not faulting them. Not their deal just mine. They have fried chicken and a burger. Both of those probably more my speed. Very rich gravy and heavy. Not use to that and mash potatoes and green beans. Wow it was like a large food baby. I had to go walk it off for a bit. If you like southern cooking this is it. It's good. If you are like me and not so much I to the heavy gravy and that type of meal then maybe not as ideal for you. Try the burger. read more

Great food, friendly family service, clean restaurant. This was second time there for my son and I, and it was every bit as good as the first time there. So far we have had the BBQ meatloaf, fried catfish, chicken strips, and chicken fried steak sandwhich, fries, hush puppies, green beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, and coleslaw, plus banana pudding and peach cobbler. All of it was excellent! The food is very fresh and seasoned perfectly, portions are right sized and served hot. The restaurant and kitchen are super clean, which shows the family has great pride in what they are doing. Our daughter and her family moved to North Richland Hills a few weeks ago. We decided to try out your place so that when we visit we have a go to place. So glad we stopped by. My husband ordered the fried catfish and I ordered the BBQ Meatloaf. Both were perfectly seasoned and delicious. We finished our plates off and order a chicken fried steak to go for our son in law. Chicken Fried Steak was the worst I have ever had. It was listed in the Best of Fort Worth. I want to know who took a bribe. Unless they intentionally made my meal bad. I usually tip after the meal in cash. OK I had to get my own drink. However, when we asked where the silverware was, the person looked like we were speaking Martian. Silverware? I have had the Pecan Grilled Chicken salad, Chicken Fried Steak, CFChicken, Grilled Salmon, Patty Melt and a BLT. We went right before the new year and again the food was really good. The drink machine has local sodas that use real sugar. The Root Beer is really good. Bring an appetite because the food will not not disappoint. The place is clean and simple. This place is so good! My family and I have been coming here for years - even all the way back when they were at their old location. Really good southern food! I usually always get the chicken fried chicken. The gravy is to die for! My husband usually gets the chorizo burger and he always really enjoys it. We also have gotten the family night meals for takeout when we have a lot of family visiting. We have done the chicken fried steak and catfish. This is one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants because of the tasty food at affordable prices. I always get the fried catfish and shrimp with fries and banana pudding. I've ordered to go as pick up or via food delivery and the food is consistently hot and fresh when I get home. I have not eaten inside but plan to soon. The catfish and shrimp are battered and fried so crispy which I love and the portions are enough for you to get full. The bonus for me are the yummy hush puppies made similar to how my granny made them. The best menu item is easily the banana pudding. You have never had banana pudding like theirs. I didn't like that part so much, but the food and hospitality made up for it. My wife raved about the Chicken Strips, which was interesting because she doesn't really like Chicken that much. My daughter got the catfish and said it was really flavorful and tasty. My son got Mac n Cheese and being 9 years old, tore it down pretty easily. Bottom line, it lived up to the reviews. My wife and I are takeout here once about 10'years ago from their old location. It was delicious. Just got takeout for 6 people about 2 weeks about and man it is even better then what I remembered. All the classic country food are perfect, but that gravy is something else. Catfish also was great. My biggest regret is not trying the banana pudding. He still does that years later. Customer service like that is hard to come by now days. I got the patty melt, my go to. It's juicy, oniony, and cheesy. If you don't order a side of gravy with every meal, you're missing out. Also, their chips and salsa beat any restaurant. They're made fresh and have an addictive quality. Don't forget to ask for an extra copy of your receipt. They have buckets lined up on the wall with different charities on them.
