Sales department was easy to deal with, I had a list of 5th wheels that I wanted to see. They were all on the lot and were shown to me by a young man that was very helpful. He had good knowledge and explained good points and some bad points of different RV'S. This young man I wish I remembered his name. He did work in the service department now but was a sales man prior. This was on 01-09-2018 During the RV show in Akron so they were a bit short handed at the store. I did connect with John from sales and he worked out the details in short order. He is also who will answer any questions you may have that come up while camping or on the road. If he doesn't know he will get the answer for you. I made arrangements to pick my new RV and have the Anderson 5th wheel hitch and Air Lift air suspension installed. The installation did take a bit longer than expected but they ordered lunch for me and wow was it good thank you. On the way home one of the air lifters lost air, I called Tracey in the service department in the morning and they arranged for camping world in Apollo PA to assist with the problem. I drove over that morning and one of the techs had the problem fixed in less than 5 minutes I'm not kidding. I thought for sure I would be there all day. Talk about fantastic service and fantastic people like Tracey. These are all positive things that will go a long way with my wife and my self. I did experience something I didn't like and that was the surprise that the price on the advertised price didn't include freight and dealer prep. There goes another $2000 to the cost. In the future I wish they would increase the advertised price to include these costs. Then when you see the finance department be prepared to ask a lot of questions. They will present 4 or 5 different payment options so don't be fooled. They will try to sell Service contract this to me is a good Idea, paint protection and tire protection so you can add another $10,000 to the total deal. So be smart and buy what you need and have an overall good experience. The overall cost was still lower and the service was good, and remember we can get service easily in every state we drive thru. read more

Our brand new RV furnace started malfunctioning the first week in March. Being under warranty we contacted Camping World for repair, however, we were unable schedule an appointment to take it in as my husband works long hours (I don't pull the 42ft fifth wheel). Robyn, who was the service phone agent helping me, suggested they might be able to get their Mobile Service unit to come out, even though I guess this service usually isn't available the beginning of March. She spent extra time with me trying to problem solve when I didn't fit the usual mold of just scheduling a drive in appointment. She was pleasant and very helpful She advised me I would need to cover the service call charge of $175 prior to them dispatching Mobile Service. I was glad to do this as it solved many issues with towing the RV 75miles one way and my husbands schedule. Keith was the repairman, who called first thing the morning of the appointment to confirm. He was pleasant, punctual, professional and was very helpful in educating me on the electrical system of our RV, which turned out to be the culprit, not the furnace. While he was here he even spent a few extra minutes on a bathroom vent fan that the motor was out. Although my we were concerned about the warranty repair process initially, from my first call to when I watched Keith drive away, I was very happy with the process and couldn't think of anything I would change, other than not needing them in the first place!! read more

I had been to four other rv dealerships, three in New York and one in Pennsylvania. I felt like I was dealing with used car dealers instead of so called professional sales people. When coming to Camping World in Akron Ohio, I was assigned to RV Sales Associate Nick Hurd. My wife and I were interested in a particular Jayco motor home and Mr. Hurd was able to find it within the dealerships inventory. Mr. Hurd went over everything within and outside of the vehicle in detail. In addition, he had me drive the vehicle on the highway and on bumpy roads to experience the ride quality. During one of our conversations, Mr. Hurd and fellow employee Andrew Henry were discussing the particular motor home we were interested in when they informed us that the Design and Engineering teams at Jayco had just come out with the Modern Farmhouse design decor in 2019. After viewing the new interior design, we loved it so much that we had them order us a new motor home from the factory. I have read both good and bad reviews concerning rv dealerships. However, I can attest that Mr. Hurd and Mr. Henry were nothing but professional and very knowledgeable concerning their products. We met with Andrew Henry in sales and he was awesome on talking to us and helping us determine which camper best suited us, after we were approved we then came back and while my truck was getting updated with the Anderson Hitch we met and went through our investment with Heather Nieto and she was great at explaining what the capabilities of the camper were. We then sat with Jim Hatfield (yes a descendant of the Hatfield and McCoy) to go over the financing and because of his knowledge he made it very comfortable through the whole process and then directed up to see Gary in the store to start spending money on the stuff we need to get started camping, Gary was awesome and very know ledged on what we needed and didn't push hard for any of it making it a great experience. I had a small issue and I live 1 1/2 away and Keith Stollings came out and fixed it and gave me outstanding information on my unit.The only negative experience is when I called to see where my late cover was that I had ordered after not hearing back and some female talked to me with complete disrespected and didn't care about my concerns, because of the poor conversation 10 minutes later I called back and another great female (#022284) answered the phone and was very polite about refunding my money and cancelling my order. read more

Okay, 2 reviews here because we dealt with CW in Pittsburgh and CW Akron. Pittsburgh promised the unit we were interested in was DEF in stock...we drove 2 hours and low and behold it was gone that day, BUT they had another one just as good but a little older etc, etc, I can get into how we called several times prior as well as that very morning etc etc... but, we just left. Later went to Akron (another 2 hour drive) and the unit we wanted was there as promised. I know its a low bar but they made it. Dealing with Andrew he is really a very nice guy, no pressure but could he be trusted? I mean look at some of these yelp reviews.. Anyhow, bought a $55k rig at Akron. But there were a couple of things that needed looked at that CW techs could not do. So they told me to go to a local Mercedes dealer and CW would pay the bill. Get this, THEY DID!. There is more but I don't want to go overboard. Reading these yelp reviews made me very skeptical about CW but our experience at Akron was rather good. I take one star off as the paper processing took FOREVER...but all and all Andrew and the Staff promised and delivered at every turn. read more

I want to thank Mike Jiordano and Keith( also does mobile service) in the service department for making what started out as a very horrible experience to a most pleasant experience. These 2 were very helpful and attentive in getting our RV repaired and went above and beyond to help get things done correctly! Before meeting these 2, I was prepared to never step foot in Camping World again, or recommend to friends, but my experience with these two men ultimately changed my perspective. There is a lot to be said about their integrity and professionalism. With that being said, Sales is a whole different story! Our sales guy, I believe his name is Joe, an older guy that was absolutely rude and very unprofessional. Seems to clearly hate his job and should never be allowed to work with the public! He was the reason we almost swore off Camping World initially.. Management needs to reward the 2 men mentioned above in Service and get rid of the guy from Sales who clearly does not want to be there in the first place! read more

We bought a montana fifth wheel in Albuquerque and live in western pa after a road trip to Alaska we took it to camping world of Akron to have some warranty work done and a few minor issues that arose from our trip. We met Brie in service and explained to her what we needed done she did a walk around and thru with us took very good notes and we left it there. Brie kept us informed of the progress of our unit and if something came up she would call and get the ok before proceeding when Brie called and said the unit was ready for pick up we went and got it again Brie did a walk thru and around to make sure we were happy which we were the unit was perfect they even did a great wash job. Shawn in service worked on our unit and told us what he found and that our unit was in ready to travel condition. We purchased a new 5th wheel from them. First of all our salesman was Mark L. he was great he left us look on our own and when we found anything we liked to call him, not pushy at all. We found what we liked and ended up getting it, on the day of P/U the service Tech Bill V. went thru the trailer with us and showed us everything and made notes as to what needed fixed or added he was awesome, he knows trailers. When the camper went to service that's where things were not so great, they were to install camera which they didn't' Bill showed us, the camper was dirty sawdust everywhere, wire pieces also, so I spent 2 days cleaning it when we got it home. They also forgot to install a third vent cover which we discovered when we got it home. So overall, sales was great, service tech great, service dept needs work!! read more

Thank you to Paul Berlovan, Service Department for his prompt and professional response to our issues with a slide motor assembly gear box leak which damaged our slide roof. Paul was instrumental in negotiation with KEYSTONE warranty department regarding a slide roof replacement and not a patch. Unfortunately, KEYSTONE is refusing to replace the slide motor gear assembly stating all of their slide motors leak and has offered a drip pan. Putting a bucket under a sink does not resolve the problem. KEYSTONE never disclosed this defective part knowing this has been a "known" problem for years. KEYSTONE fraudulently installs defective motors and hopes your warranty expires before you notice the damage. KEYSTONE even refuses to extend the warranty on a part and possible future roof damage. read more

Camping world Akron is great . We purchased a used trailer in Feb they stored it for us for free until April and delivered it to our lot. When we tried to open the pullout we found that apparently on the delivery trip a part had broken which stopped the pullout from operating. The part only cost $2.00 but needed a technician to come and install. We purchased the trailer as is but when the general manager found Todd found out he had Paul the manager of the repair dept contact me they scheduled Keith the mobile technician to drive 100 miles round trip to Tippecanoe Ohio To install a $2.00 part so that my pullout worked at no charge. After all is said and done, Mark Lawrence and the Akron Camping World came through. Purchased a used Class B over the phone, Mark assured me it was in great shape and let me know if I didn't think so, no problem. Came from 750 miles away and they had it serviced and ready to go when we arrived. And we loved it. They couldn't do the oil change or replace the cracked windshield and Mark gave me his word I would get reimbursed and said I didn't need the customary "We Owe" slip that was mentioned. I took him for his word, sent the receipts in, and got the check for the full amount a couple of days later, no questions asked. I recently called to schedule a service call for my Aerolite Travel Trailer. The lady on the phone was very helpful and got me scheduled for the next day. She told me that Keith, the mobile tech, would call me when he was headed my way. He did and was actually waiting on me when I arrived at our campground. Keith was very friendly, very knowledgeable and got the repairs done within a very short time. He even took a couple of extra minutes to explain some things to me, since my husband passed away and I am doing all this on my own. I I just took my old RV in for repair. Josh {the Technician} brought me in and show me the damage was beyond what the RV was worth. So contacted Sales and Rick Rupert worked with me on something I could afford. Jim Hatfield worked with finance for an affordable Loan. Bill Vaughn walked me thru the RV and made sure I new how things worked and made suggestions as to protect my investment. We traveled 4 hrs one way to look at a class C motorhome because of the excellent selling price. We were hesitant because Camping World has had issues lately. But we got a great deal. Our salesperson, Tim, was a straightforward person. We weren't planning on doing a trade but he gave us a good price so we made a 2nd trip back to bring in our trade in. We also found that our financial guy, James, did not try and oversell us a bunch of warranties and insurance that CW is known to do. Overall we were extremely pleased with our experience. read more

Had warranty work done on site at our seasonal campground to replace awning. Did a very good job was very professional and friendly. Keith had given us great advice on how to take care of our new camper. The mobile service is a must as it was a part of our warranty and extended warranty with out cost to us, a great thing to have as most places have none. We purchased our new class c in August. It has gone in and out of the service dept since. Continuos water issues and now the scariest part the heat duct caught fire and burned. I am currently afraid to put my family in this unit as I don't trust it. I do not blame camping world. They have no idea the unit would be faulty.
