My motorhome had an issue and I called every repair place I could find. None called me back. Called Camping World, got an appointment for a day later, added an inspection and oil change and it was all done in a day. Fast, courteous, and reasonable. Do not take your RV here!! Their service is poor, their communication is terrible, and the customer service dept needs an overhaul. When you make an appointment it means nothing other than when you drop it off. They keep your RV for more than a week before even looking at it, then they don't communicate about it until you keep calling and they finally get your message. They miswrite messages to the service staff and misrepresent your requests and problems in their notes. It's difficult to get through to your repair person. Then when they say it's done and you drive over an hour to get there, the service counter person tells you different... that it's not done. The place makes you want to rip your hair out in frustration. Don't go! read more

Stay away from this place! Worst experience I have ever had! First of all their prices are outrageous compared to their online store. We purchased several items online to pick up in store and they refused to give us an item because we paid less than what their store was trying to charge us. After speaking to 5 people via phone call and spending over one hour trying to resolve the issue, all I can say is STAY AWAY from this place. They wanted us to pay their store price for the item which was almost $100 more than the online price, keep in mind we already PAID for the item to be picked up in store. They wanted us to return the item through the 800 number and pay their price. Is that a joke? They are shady people here and we will never be back. read more

The customer service at this business is HORRIBLE. Called several times to set up service appointment for my RV. Takes forever for someone to answer the phone. Finally someone does and I set up the appointment. Then had to reschedule so went to business in person to set up a new appointment. Appointment day comes and I get RV out of storage, drive it to Camping World and check in. Service department says I hav the wrong date. Not true because I wrote the date down when I got the appointment. They say sorry, too busy, won't get it worked on for 2 weeks. Bottom line: Absolutely horrible place to do business with. My first visit. The store certainly has everything one needs to maintain an RV. The customer service needs an adjustment. Someone needs to be on the floor monitoring the customer experience. We walked in and a young girl was manning a spinning wheel, there was one cashier and 4 employees behind the service counter. The line to pay was 5 couples deep. The single cashier was handling what appeared to be a complicated customer transaction. One man walked up to the service counter and 4 personnel listened in on his questions as we all stood in line . Because the unusual length of time of the customer at the cashier the couple in front of us got out of line, put their product away and walked out of the store. There we stood, the 4 personnel behind the counter did nothing to help the young sole cashier, did not even call for help. I finally done up and said is there any way you can help? The reply was I work in the service center! As a customer I don't care. I just wanted to say call someone for help! Finally another woman came out of no where and jumped on the register. I'm sorry I'm in the service industry and our employees are trained to call for help when needed. Very disappointing read more

Yes, I read the reviews and because of that I probably won't be taking the RV there for service any time soon! Management really should respond to those here on YELP so we can get both sides of those stories! That being said, I'm reviewing the actual store since that's why we stopped there. We didn't realize until we parked that it also serviced trailers and RV's, we came to shop for our new trailer! We recently traded in our toy hauler for a smaller trailer and we want to really organize and "decorate" so we stopped in to see what Camping World has to offer. They have a great selection of anything you can basically think of for RV/Trailer camping. There is plenty for the tent campers as well but I think it's focused on the glampers! We found all sorts of things to organize, improve and just plain use for our trailer. The prices are great if you join the Good Sam Club, which we did, for $25 a year. The club has a lot of benefits for traveling that we'll look into but for the one shopping trip we got two years "free" and still saved an additional $50! I really like to store and will be back again when we're in the area just to see what's new. There's really no "customer service" other than the cashier so we'll go other places for things like parts and a generator that we need to actually talk to somebody about. I'm giving Camping World 3 stars mainly because of the selection, it's the best around! read more

Update: i went to pick up my rig weds from Camping World in Wood Village OR. I was told there was a tow package. That wasn't true. I was told I'd get a whole bunch of freebies. I was told of a free camping trip. Just getting over Covid, this person couldn't give me 5 minutes to catch my breath. They just hurled us down the hall like cattle. Once we got to the rig, I was told the opening was too narrow for my walker. I had to send my daughter who was visiting from Texas went and listened to whatever. The finance person, Dick, was quite the jerk. He wanted me to sign a paper that said if anything was wrong with the unit, I wouldn't take them to court. This was a red flag and I stated I wasn't going to sign it. He told me, "I'm not selling you the unit then." After that I just scribbled on any paper this jerk put in front of me. I gave him my new insurance card but he wanted one that didn't start for 2 days. I got the current one, but when we were done, he wanted the other one back since this one was only good for 2 days. I told him no. I wasn't doing that as he had the one valid for today so he told my daughter to go get it. I told him my identify had been compromised but they never ran my deposit they required. Had I known that, I would have never gone back. My bank account was blocked the day before. I had $40 in gas to get my car home. They would have had to redo the paperwork for $1000 less and waste more of my time and made me feel like it was my fault. My daughter offered her credit card to which I declined. He took it from her and ran it anyway. Then put barely enough gas in it to get it home. I now have a toxic, driveway ornament that I will never drive and don't know how to use. I came here to buy stuff for my truck trailer, and I heard someone coughing up a lung the whole time I was there. I noticed the lady at the cash register (black on brown, large build, young) was the culprit. Rarely was she covering her mouth and the cough was consistent for the 20-minutes I was there. When checking out, I asked if someone else would check me out because the lady was clearly sick, and the other lady (blonde on white, small build, middle age) said, "well we're both sick." So I asked if the other guy at service could check me out and she said, "No". This is ridiculous. On top of everything, they tried to hit me with a membership and credit card offer. Unbelievable. Keep your employees home if they are sick or make them wear a mask. I was going to go back in to buy more stuff, but no thank you. Unbelievable that they are still in business. I have had numerous repairs done incorrectly or incomplete. Needed follow-up appointments nearly every time. DONT LEAVE THE LOT UNTIL YOU HAVE CHECKED AND DOUBLE CHECKED THEIR WORK. If they say "a day" - better plan for a week. If you call for status be prepared to get the royal run-around. I was charged $242.76 shipping for slide out awning fabric and a small roller support. In my opinion, their annual inspection and service packages are just a cursory review (at best) as they missed several obvious issues which I had to come back for. Get everything in writing. If you don't like what they have written, ask to have it documented correctly (you will need this when you come back for the rework). LOOK at the added charges for WARRENTY/REPLACEMENT PLANS (THAT YOU DID NOT ASK FOR). They charge for shop supplies for every visit (really?). Don't even ask about their phone customer support. We were able to find everything we needed for our new trailer including all of the chemicals and sewer hook ups, chairs and rugs, grill and backpack! Lot lots more! Well stocked store! Worst customer service. The employees act like they hate their jobs and will not go "the extra mile" to help customers. I had to ask questions to motivate them to help me. Called to schedule an installation and the girl that answered the phone would not connect me with appointment scheduler, said they were too busy. She said she'd have him call me back. After not hearing back, I called again. She said she'd try to have him call me back! Finally, we drove down to the store. There were 2 customers! When we finally did get to speak to someone- he was so depressed-like, unfriendly and uncommunicative. Asked our phone number, was on the computer awhile and then offered us a date 3 weeks away. which would not work for us because we are leaving the day before. He just gave us a blank stare. Didn't offer to put us on a waiting list in case someone canceled. My recommendation is to go somewhere else! It's supposed to be fun to RV and you want to have customer service that actually helps customers. read more

Worst Customer Service... I purchased an item on there sister site, Overton's. I received the item damaged and the quality was poor. Rather than return in the mail, I figured I could just return it to Camping world which is just down the road from me. I was told by phone that I needed to speak with their retail manager. After many calls their receptionist was able to reach the manager who said they could not return this item because it was discontinued. She said, "Since we no longer carry this item we are unable to return it." I logged onto the site and found the item still listed as available for purchase. Weird..... So I called Overton's and their Customer service rep was amazing and helped me return this item. The back of the shipping receipt says that for any reason you are not satisfied, you can return the item. It says nothing about discontinued items. Think twice about ordering from them. read more

The customer service at this RV service center is atrocious, to say the least. The only reason we took our coach there for an awning repair is that they could schedule us in a timely manner, where other service centers were scheduling out a considerably longer time. Initially, the diagnosis of the problem was performed quickly, but when it came to ordering the correct parts, things fell apart quickly. The first item ordered was the awning motor, which was either ordered incorrectly, or the supplier shipped the wrong part. Then, once the correct motor was installed, it was discovered that one of the arms for the awning had broken parts. The arm was ordered, and again, either ordered incorrectly, or shipped incorrectly. The bottom line is that Camping World had our coach for more than three months, during which time, I had to make numerous calls to the ever-changing service writer to get a repair status. The last problem that arose was that the hardware for the correct arm did not come with the arm, and Camping Worls claimed that the manufacturer, Carefree Awnings, did not have the parts available. I made one call to Carefree Awning, and I was able to get the needed parts shipped the very next day. Either the people at Camping World are incompetent, or just plain lied to me on numerous occasions. NEVER TAKE YOUR RV TO CAMPING WORLD FOR SERVICE. This place does not deserve even ONE star. This place is ridiculous I can't believe they can continue to do business I was told they had an item in stock so I left work early to drive up from Olympia only to be told they did not have it. The parts counter staff that told me they had it then told me they would have one in a few weeks I call and can't talk to anyone finally get through then they won't let me talk to Cord the parts guy but inform me the do have my part but it's on hold for another customer! Whoever the gal is that works at the front counter with blond hair and a lip ring is by far the least pleasant and helpful customer service rep I've had to deal with. Asked about if they match their internet prices, which she said they do if we are a member, (which we are) and we would have to pay a shipping fee. I told her great, I would want to do that on my products in my cart. She rings me up and all the prices are the same as in the store. I said, these don't look like internet prices. She says, "You need to pull it up on a website and we need to look it up by SKU". I'm like..."Ok, I thought we already agreed I wanted internet prices". So, I had to use my phone to look up the products on their website that I just purchased from their store so that I could get their internet prices. Anyhow - least helpful person around. Got one of our products home and found it was broken, so took it back to exchange. They gladly returned the lower price and then recharged us the regular price. HELLO - look at the receipt people. I've just realized that common sense isn't so common anymore.... Yes, they have some products we need, and yes, it pays to be a member to get a discount, but they don't hire the most competent staff. I shop online any time I need anything to avoid their cashiers. They have a stupid process that slows everything up even more by holding customers and those in line hostage while they sign up newbies for their buying club. Just purchased a travel trailer so we ventured in to Camping World to stock up for a camping trip. As we walked in the entry, we were barraged by KM Camping Resorts trying to sell us a "membership" chock full of high-pressure sales tactics. They were completely unavoidable and seriously ruined our experience at Camping World, which was otherwise fine. Camping World, if you're reading this, please do not partner with high-pressure sales companies. At least don't let them trap customers before they enter your store. On another note, the store has a decent selection and the prices are comparable to other places or online outlets of similar merchandise. There are two prices, one for "members" and another for "non-members". Fortunately, they gave us a free membership with my military ID, which was a bit of a saving grace on an otherwise less than desirable experience. I'm not sure yet if we'll be back. They generally can't help us and don't have what we need. They have recommended that we try Tacoma RV down the street. It is a great recommendation and I agree with them. I met the same service/parts man that Matthew G. did in the above review. He was helping another customer when I approached the counter. He told the other customer that they didn't carry the part he was looking for and that there was no way he would be able to find it anywhere. When it was my turn he told me the same thing about a simple wing nut. Don't carry it, don't know what to tell you! He didn't look me in the eye, he was obsessed with his computer screen and he had the worst attitude both verbally as well as in his body language. I have to say it was one of the most rude encounters with a sales person I have ever experienced. I would sooner have a root canal than visit their service and parts department again. It is no surprise that this jerk wasn't wearing a name tag! I have received better service at Wal-Mart. The selection in the store is good, but nothing that I don't think I can't buy on Amazon Prime and have in my mail box in two days. I think Camping World has forgotten that this is a new era in product availability, they are no longer the only option for RV supplies. read more

I'm a member but really dislike how this company and thier stores operate. If you join you just get bombarded, plastered, hammered, is there more words? Tattooed, slammed, are you getting it, with junk mail! It never stops. You can fix the email stuff but what you get from USPS you cannot. Also the prices in the store. You can find most this stuff for the exact same price either online or other stores. I definitely would not purchase stuff here unless you are a member because then you are just overpaying by a lot! They could make it so much better but through the years I've never seen any attempt or change. They have a full service area for your RV, but I was only interested in shopping for camping accessories. This is the most square footage I've seen in this area for camping & RV accessories. If you own a camper, trailer, RV, or even a tent- --there are items here that you need. Those unique items that Walmart doesn't carry are all here, and then some. From propane hose fittings, to trailer brake lights, to Sleep Number RV beds... they've got it all. The prices run on the high-side. Good Sam Club members get 10% off, and shelf stickers reflect both member and non-member prices. (You can join when you check out). Hint for Active Duty military: Good Sam Club membership is free! Overall: I enjoyed browsing and getting ideas for future purchases. For items I wanted to buy, but couldn't afford: I took pictures with my smart phone. -I'll look them up online and save a few bucks! 4 Stars for the variety and vastness of everything RV and Camping. I am a new To Rv'ing. I needed the electrical system checked out. Fridge wasn't running (it was when I bought it). I told service guy it didn't run on propane or electrical. $300 later I got a new battery. The fridge does work now when I plug in or while driving. Still doesn't work on propane. The best part was someone bent my ignition key so badly I couldn't get in my RV or get it in the ignition. It was close to closing time. A service guy bent the key and jammed it in the ignition so I could drive off. I thought I would have to call a lock smith to get the key out. Also, when they replaced the battery they left a bracket with wing nuts in the coach. When I asked what it was, the service guy just took it and said, "don't worry, the new battery isn't going anywhere so you don't need this." I am very disappointed and won't go back! read more

My husband went to Camping world to buy 2 outdoor recliners. He was made to join a membership to Camping W. He brought the chairs home and we realized they wouldn't work for us. So he took them back. They gave us a refund for the chairs. In a month they sent a bill for the amount of the membership, although we weren't sure what is was for. So a little later I sent the payment. The next month we received another bill for about $30.00. We didn't think it was a real amount so we ignored it thinking they made a mistake. Next month they called my husband to see where the payment was.He asked what was owed for, they said it was a late fee. We talked about it and decided that didn't seem right. So the next month they wanted around $54.00. So to get them off our back I paid half. Then they didn't send another bill, but the following month they called again. This time the bill was for $94.00. I tried to get in touch with Camping W, they have no record of my husband, I called 2 or 3 numbers, no one could find his name or anything about him. Just a while ago, they called again, we now owe$145.00. We have received nothing for this money or any thing we have paid, since the beginning. This doesn't seem right to us. I purchased a large propane tank to hook up to my semi-permanently parked RV. I was having a heck of a time finding the right hook up for it. I was resisting the drive to Camping World, but eventually had to cave in. Glad I did. I was immediately greeted by two young men. I told them what I was looking for and one young man took me to the propane accessories, then let me know he didn't really know anything about parts. He directed me to a manager who I had to wait a spell for while he attended to another customer. When it was my turn, he passed me on to Aaron. Aaron was awesome!! He was patient, kind, knowledgeable, and approachable. I'm an RV newbie and have lots of questions about my rig. He answered some of them and didn't make me feel silly for asking. I was reluctant to go in after reading all of the other reviews. I went in needing to reseal my roof. I had limited knowledge of what products were needed and the steps to take to correctly reseal my trailer. The staff was very professional and helpful. They gave me different scenarios I may face. The difference between products and what to expect. The prices were higher than online but it was worth it to get the information. I was also looking for a replacement propane supply line. They didn't have anything that large but an associate did know of a company that made lines in house. I will definitely be buying from them in the future read more

I bought some refrigerator bars which don't fit in my RV. I was told I had to pay for shipping twice. Once for delivery and once for return. My only other option was to drive 50 miles to the nearest store to return. I spent $20 on the product, $8 shipping and another $8 to return. It's simply not worth my while to do business with them again when I can get the same product(s) at Amazon or Walmart with better customer service. read more

We just purchased the FR3 motorhome by Forrest River from the Camping World in St Louis (Wentzville) MO. All of the staff were very courteous and helpful; however, Steve Renfro did an outstanding job of providing information, answering hard questions, and making sure what we purchased was a good fit for our needs. When he didn't have a ready answer, he immediately told us and then found the "expert" to help us. The entire process went very smoothly. Same EXACT item. But I can have it delivered to my house with free shipping for $99... really ...what ?forget buying in store... Oh or I could sign up for virtual Shopping in the morning and pick it up tomorrow for online price because of COVID? Ok let's try that. Signed up for curbside virtual shopping pickup for the following day for 9:30 am ..... they never called.Yes you lost my business. That's ok got it somewhere else. Got a brand new rv too.
