These guys suck!!! Very unpleasant experience. We scheduled an appointment to have the slide out on our motorhome serviced and the awning replaced on the same slide out. For some reason, they just didn't want to work on it. And its not a piece of crap, it's a very nice 40' NRC on a Freightliner Columbia chassis. As it turned out, we wasted a whole day taking it to them and got absolutely nothing accomplished. Later that day, we would up fixing everything ourself right out in front of our house on the sidewalk, in the pouring rain in less than 3 hours! Heres how our day went. We got up at 4:30am and drove from our home in Seattle to the storage unit in Edmonds, then all the way to Tacoma in a monsoon rain storm during rush hour. We took the motorhome and another vehicle so we wouldn't be stuck at the RV joint while it was being repaired. What a hassle!! We showed up at camping world at the scheduled time and checked in with Lisa. (very nice Gal) She hooked me up with the service manager and I showed him the replacement awning we had purchased from Carefree of Colorado. The first thing this guy says is "well, this probably ain't going to happen". Those guys never get it right, probably won't fit etc........ I explained to him that I had worked with the folks at NRC and Carefree to make sure I had the exact right pieces to complete the job. It was a simple install because all of the original brackets were still on the motorhome and all they needed to do was install the new roller and fabric. Then I told him that the slide out was struggling to go in and out and needed a little help as well. He immediately says, "we don't fix slide outs!" I told him that it wasn't broken, rather just needed to be lubed and the appointment I scheduled was to do just that, service the slide out. He reluctantly agreed to take a look at it. We left for about an hour then he called and said the slide out was all screwed up and needed some serious attention, probably a new motor. He referred me to a place called Wescraft just down the street that does major repairs on motorhomes. I asked him if he would go ahead and install the awning and he said he didn't want to install the awning because it would put too much tension on the already struggling slide out motor. Really??? Now I'm really pissed off!! I drove it back to my home in Seattle, drug out three ladders and within an hour and fifteen minutes in the pouring rain, my wife and I had the awning successfully installed. (we never installed an awning before) Very simple deal, just don't like working thirteen feet up in the air. After that was completed, I went up to Ace hardware and bought some Parifin wax and proceeded to wax up the screw jacks on the slide out. I also greased the the side rods and mechanism as well. Sure enough, the thing works like new. Apparently not screwed up at all. I will never do business with these folks again, nor will I refer anyone else to them. If you need some repairs, take it to Wescraft to start with. read more

Let me begin by saying I am no stranger to customer service having worked retail and banking for 37 years. This is definately NOT the right way it's done. I recently bought a trailer and needed some service done. I called to make and appointment and spoke with Mikey. I was looking for a replacement toilet. He wanted me to send him pictures of all angles of the existing toilet, measurements all to his personal phone because he "had too emails to weed through". I did what was asked. I then called the next day to confirm he recieved the info he needed. Alex had no idea since Mikey hadn't entered any of my info into to work order. All my info was again given. I had an addition work request to add, needing also a main gate valve for my black water tank. On Monday when I dropped my trailer off for Tuesday's repairs, again I had to give all my info to someone else since it still hadn't all been entered in the computer. The 3rd man I was dealing with behind the counter was rude, bad mouthing his boss and coworkers, very flippent and condesending. I asked if they also repaired hitches. He pointed to the back wall and said the parts are back there. That's not the question I asked. Same response...parts are back there. I need a new gate valve for my blackwater tank. This was discussed in my original phone call. I was told by the current man that they couldn't do it because of Fife's environmental laws and because I hadn't sanitized it. I was not told anything about sanitizing and had no clue. He takes me back to the service manager to "plead my case". After tellling the service manager 3 times what had been going on, I finally told him to look at me when I'm speaking to him and to listen this time. (I was reaching my limit) He glanced away from his computer long enough for me to repeat myself for the 4th time and then proceeded to bad mouth his employees! I was not the only customer taken through the repair area to speak to this man. A good manager would come to his customers. There is a serious break down in moral between the employees and this manager. Bad representatives all around for Camping World and this particular location in Fife. I chose to not have my repair done by them and will never go there again for any reason what-so-ever! On the flip side, my store visit was ok. My cashier was very knowledgeable and fun! She should be cloned and spread through the store... read more

If you shop here it's a nice place just don't talk to their service department. I called to talk to someone about a fifth wheel hitch and when the guy called me back he didn't seem to care or want to help me. He was very rude on the phone and actually gave me answers that I knew to be incorrect after talking to the manufacturer of the hitch I already owned. So I went to the store thinking I could get better service in person. Wouldn't you know it I would get the same guy who is even more of a jerk in person. He wouldn't hardly look away from his computer screen to talk to me. I think he had an important game of solitaire going and didn't want to be bothered. I won't be going back. I just wish I could remember the guys name. I think I was too distracted by the rudeness to remember it. read more

Do NOT bring your RV here for repairs!! We took our trailer in to have some repairs and a slide topper. We needed it by a certain date for my husband to take it hunting. They said it would be done. There were numerous delays, zero communication. At the end of the day, the slide topper didn't get ordered on time and then we were told it would take 2 weeks longer. I called corporate and they said they'd help but I never heard from them again. We'd had to pay ahead so apparently it wasn't important since they already had our money. The trailer was finally done but not in time for the trip they told us it would be done for. They SCREWED us completely! On top of that, when we told them, they didn't care and didn't even apologize. This is some of the worst customer service I've ever received. I will NEVER use them again!!! Do yourself a favor and STEER CLEAR!!! read more

I would give them a rating of -5, but I can't... I bought an item from Camping World on Sunday, October 15th, 2017. The item I purchased was for sale on "close out" or "clearance." I'm not a member of Camping World, so I could not get the reduced price. It was suggested I check out "Harbor Freight," which I did. They had the same item for $1 less than the close out price (I couldn't get) at CW. Even though I wasn't given the close out price (not being a member), they refused to give me a cash refund, since it was on close out. They offered me an in store credit, but since I will never shop there again, that doesn't do me any good... read more

I do not usually write reviews unless a business warrants excellent praise or legitimate criticism. I am very disappointed in the practices of this Camping World. We took our travel trailer in for simple warranty maintenance. The service people that we dealt with were very nice, yet the real issues lie in the quality of work performed on our 2017 travel trailer. Most warranty issues that we had with our trailer were never truly fixed and the work that was done was simply patchwork. On top of the shoddy maintenance, our battery was stolen out of the external battery box on the front of our trailer. They left our trailer in the parking lot overnight and had no security measures in place for such storage. That is absolute disregard and disrespect for customer property. Id like to think that when you entrust a business to safeguard your property, they would have the ability to do so. This Camping World definitely does not. It's unacceptable that a national chain business of this stature doesn't care about the quality of its work, nor the confidence of its customers. read more

I bought a heavy duty, super expensive RV cover to only find out that it broke one week after installation. Really!? One week and this thing is broken? I was offered a patch kit and a $25 gift card since taking off the cover while it's raining it's not going to work for us. Spend your money elsewhere, this was a waste of money. read more

I asked the service department if they could test my 7 way rv plug on my tow rig. They quoted $82.00 to test, which was the shop minimum and didn't include any repairs, if needed. Seemed extreme, decided to check online. I found several testers for $10 and decided it would be a good item to carry in the truck. And it's being delivered for free in 2 days ! read more

Just called in for a simple question of how to get turnbuckles to tie down my truck camper and you'd think I was asking them to explain the theory of relativity. Just left and our customer service was poor. We asked the young lady with dark hair and glasses if you carry a part for our rv. Her only response was "nope can't do that". That's all she said. I took my travel trailer to Camping World to be serviced today. I did have to make an appointment about two weeks out for the service, however they assured me that it would be done in one day and it was. I was treated very fairly by the staff and they answered all of my questions. I would like to give Tacie & Jacob a shout out for treating me very professionally. It was 4th July weekend. A Friday. Place was slammed. I went in because my Reese hitch was stuck. The service manager ( Doug) said if you can be patient I'll take a look at it . Five minutes later he starts working on it , 30 minutes later it's fixed. When we arrived my kids were crying, thought our trip would be canceled. Because no one else would work on it. Everyone was to busy that I called. I called KM resorts were I'm a member. They said go to camping world. They'll take care of you. Thanks to KM and Doug , we went on vacation . The charge? I have a camping trailer that has a slide out that needed a slide out topper.. call camping world and they were having a sale . Installation was free..made an appt for Monday .. drop my trailer off Sunday afternoon.. called on Monday afternoon and they were just starting on it so I said I will pick it up on Tuesday..went in on Tuesday and slide topper looked good. Paid for it.. went to hook up to my truck and notice both my batteries were gone.. went in to ask where my batteries were.. they said there was no reason to remove them and said they were probably stolen..I said what are you going to to about it. The manager said that they aren't responsible for my RV that sits overnight in there parking lot.. He said that's why we have you sign a waiver that released them of any liaibility..no cameras or security.. but they will sell me new ones at there price... HMMM How nice.. after my batteries were replaced then I notice both my propane tanks were also missing.. again they would sell me new ones... Do not ever leave your RV at the camping world in fife/tacoma overnight .. they do not have any security or cameras .. leave it at your own Risk.. That's great customer service .. Took our Monaco Diplomat in to get a new slide topper and seal installed. Ordered it on 1/26/19, they ordered the wrong topper. Took our coach in on 2/28 to get items installed. They knew that day it was the wrong size. Husband took 2 days off from work to bring them the motorhome and pick it up. We never received a call letting us know the coach wouldn't be ready. Spoke to Doug (Manager) on several occasions, promised to make things right. Never did. Finally got our coach back on 3/29/19. Interior was left dirty where the work was done, workmanship was poor and customer service was great when you were at the store, poor on the phone. Wouldn't recommend them. read more

Went to get a tow bar installed. The techs said no problem. They just weren't sure what baseplate I needed. They took pictures to send to roadmaster to find out. They said they'd let me know. I never heard back. I called a couple of times and they said they hadn't heard back from roadmaster. They said they would call me when they heard something. It's been three week now and no one has called. Pretty poor customer support. Nice and friendly when your in front of them, but as soon as you leave they don't seem to care. I like camping world but I cannot recommend the service department in the Fife store. Customer service did not exist in my case. read more

The replaced my class C's busted water intake valve and even though I asked them to check the water system running off the tank they said nothing about that. I made an appointment in mid November and they said I could get in 12/5/17. They quoted me $358.00 for generator carburetor issues and rear lighting issues. It took over 10 days to even look at the unit. They said they would call on Monday and I ended up calling on Friday with still no answers or estimate of when they would know when or what was wrong. Two days later they wanted to install a new carburetor on the Onan generator and another $300.00 added to estimate. They were more concerned every time I called that my membership was paid up to date. Still no answer regarding rear lights after three weeks. We stopped in between Christmas and New Years to check on progress and see what was the issue, with no real answers we left very frustrated. Two days later I got the call to remove the RV from their lot and they explained they went as far as they could with the lights not working. After paying $1289.00 far above the original estimate, I was happy to have my RV back in my possession with no working rear Clearance lights, back up lights and the trailer plug would not operate right side trailer lights. My brother and I bought a $4.00 light tester from NAPA and went to work. We had all the lights working within 5.5 hours working after we finished our jobs. The reverse lamps wires were not even attached when we pulled the fixture off. Need less to say I am not a fan and felt I was treated like an outcast for wanting my RV serviced. read more

Just bought an RV and went to Camping World in Tacoma for the first time. The cashiers at check out were extremely nice and helpful...not so at the parts department. Not only did they not have half the parts we needed, but they acted as if we were bothering them asking for these parts! BTW, we were the ONLY ones at the counter with 4 clerks standing around, so I'm pretty sure they weren't being overworked. Parts department take a clue from you cashiers on customer service. We will be looking elsewhere for our RV needs. read more

Alli can say is that I had an absolutely fantastic experience. Great product knowledge on generators and batteries. I own a 2013 casita and needed a generator to power when away from campgrounds and the crew at camping world totally helped me out. I highly recommend them. I took my motorhome in for an estimate-Total confusion. I did end up leaving it and was told the repair would take several weeks although it was a small repair.2 months later my calls were not returned and the work wasn't even started. So I went back to the store in person and was assured they would get to it that week. One month later I get my motorhome back. I was not happy with the repair and certainly not the communication and time frame. This all was in the summer of 2017. read more

I called to get a water filter for my trailer on Sunday August 23rd at 2 pm and no one answered the phone so I could check and see if they have the filter in stock....when I called there was a recording saying that if I was not satisfied to call the President's office...I did and was told that the store should be open but that the employees are stocking shelves so they don't always answer the phone ?? i checked with Amazon and they don't think I would have the filter till possibly Friday and we are planning on leaving Friday morning, so I am between a rock and a hard spot....I have been on hold for about 10 minutes now with someone at the presidents office as she is checking to see if they are there or not ?? I find it fascinating that retail outlets are complaining about Amazon, but this is the service you get !!! I have now been on hold for 8 minutes...now its been 10 minutes, still on hold...well i have been on hold for over 15 minutes...just enough time to read a bunch of the reviews....I guess I am not the first person that this has happened to....we are members...but I will not renew this year....we have been members for over 20 years...when it used to care about customers.....good luck Camping world...its really funny because while I am typing this and I have been waiting on hold...it has taken so long to type that there is a message at the bottom that says the review must be "pretty epic" now over 20 minutes....I am done read more

Avoid, Avoid, AVOID!! Service dept is the worst in the country, and the corporate office admits it. Had reservation to get work done, needed 2 additional hours for diagnosis. But, that puts me back at the end of the reservation list 2 weeks later! Then it took 5 more weeks with no action before I had to call corporate office for the third time to get some activity. Gen Manager got involved, and coach got done in 5 days, but 8 weeks to replace a warranted faucet and repair a slide out, beyond acceptable. Only upside is I got 4 batteries for $78 ea. installed, because they put them in without my authorization. PS, the coach is a mess, dirt and debris left everywhere, right after we spent 2 days cleaning it to get ready to sell. Go anywhere else but here, trust me you will regret giving them you equipment to work on. read more

To be fair, the employees have tried their best to be very polite and understanding with my frustrations. The AC went out in my 3 month old motorhome so needed warranty replacement. The length of time for an appointment was very reasonable, considering other shops were nearly twice the wait. Once they have your motorhome, I think the paperwork gets lost in the shuffle. It takes a day or two to get a call back that lets you know the status of your equipment...same with phone calls seeking status updates. Seems more of a system problem that could be tweaked a bit to provide better customer service. read more

Mark C you couldn't be more accurate in the description of "crap" mail & emails, keeps the USPS in the black. I would be quite concerned as a CEO or even local mgr for Camping World reading the feedback posts, I unfortunately find them pretty much on target. I bought a new class a from a somewhat local dealer, not long after taking possession it needed some service. Sat in the dealers lot more for the first three months than in my driveway but this is a different story. Developed an electrical problem in mid March and I refuse to go back to the dealer, even under warranty so decided to try camping world in Fife, couldn't be any worse right?? Well a month later the "parts" (2) aren't in yet. Really?? I could have ordered these on Amazon and had them in 3 days with my Prime. 30 days later and no parts yet? Camping World also has no method of tracking orders - from receipt by supplier, to shipping, to expected delivery, no formal method of keeping the customer informed, they don't even return phone calls of asking for an update. Tracking is so easy it's ridiculous not to have a system in place. Is this asking too much? First and foremost training needed here is Customer Service. Camping World should close it's doors for 2 days and have an intensive customer service training session. You either have employees that don't give a crap about what they do and how or you have a management that doesn't care, or possibly a combination of the two. I have absolutely no reason to renew this membership, sorry Mr. Mailman for the reduced mail. Is there an RV repair facility around the Tacoma area that actually has it together???? They have treated me with absolute kindness. I have a new pre-owned RV and I live in it which makes it very difficult to have work done. These guys went above and beyond for me. WOW. called this den of thieves about install and parts for a trailer brake controller and 7 blade plug on a chev 1/2 ton. The skinny, 120$ and hour shop time, takes 3(?) (lmfao) hours.!!!!!!Plus the parts. their cheapest, which is about 50-60$ anywhere else, is 95$ from them, and no, they won't install parts your bring in to beat their gouging.But on a cold call to them they said theyd install other parts you bring in, but then it will take 4- 5 hours lol.At 120$ an hour. SO, as of now since its really overly expensive to get a controller and plug, I cancelled the sale on the trailer I had planned on getting till I get around to installing the plug and controller myself. Avoid camping world, every rv club or review says the same thing AVOID the gougers !!! Camping world and their dishonesty are dragging down the whole rv industry read more

The service we received at Camping World was exceptional! There were a lot of modifications they needed to do to make our new fridge fit in but it was no problem for them. The service manager and technician were really a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE customer service! I had my tent trailer in there getting serviced. I went on a Sunday morning, pretty early. The store was a ghost town, with cashiers just standing at their registers. I went over to the service counter to square up, paid and exited the store for the real fun to begin. So I go out to hook up my trailer, no problem backing it up and getting the trailer to line up with the hitch. The problem arose when I couldn't get the trailer to seat down on the ball. I have been towing trailers for years and am pretty proficient with this act. So I tried everything, watching customers come and go. After trying for about 40 minutes I decided I was feeling the definition of crazy. So I went in to the store to see if anyone that was just standing around could help me get my trailer hooked up and off the lot. They said 'NO' and did not offer me any helpful alternatives. So out of the store I went, so frustrated! Having no tools in my trailer that I was leaving there to get serviced, I was short on personal options. I regreased the ball, hammered the tongue with the trailer crank, still nothing. Another 30 minutes, no help, employees even exited the store for their breaks and no offer. I went inside, again, to see if maybe they could lend me a crescent wrench to back the tongue bolt off. But guess what? They don't have tools because the service dept. is closed, and they don't sell tools of any kind, and no one could tell me where an open hardware store was to get my own. They were absolutely no help, they got there money and didn't care to make sure that their customer was assisted to remove their trailer from their lot. Don't go here if you are alone or expect any sort of human decency in aiding another human being. :0( read more

Zero stars for sure. It started good with the woman taking my details for the repair and I even emailed back and commended her on her customer service. Unfortunately, I spoke way too soon. I dropped the vehicle off on Sunday May 22nd and was told I could pick it up end of day Monday. I advised that I would be there Tuesday because I took the day off. When I called Tuesday morning I was told it would be until end of day today (Tuesday - Day 2). They were aware that I am a fulltimer, this is my home, so I had to spend 2 nights in a hotel. They are also quite a ways from where I live so I had to find someone to pick me up there when dropping off and take me back to pick it up. Tuesday afternoon I get there and of the 15 items I had wanted fixed none where done (this is all warranty work) The only thing they did where the additional things I had requested AC service, furnace service and Oil change. I paid for them but I'm not sure they were done considering the rest. My main issue was that the sewer hook up had been installed incorrectly by Thor and needed to be turned so that I could access the sewer hook up from below the vehicle. When I arrived I was told the shop manager did not touch poop and would not fix it. I asked if he had considered it was not clean was because it was mounted wrong and that I had followed all of their instructions, driving there with the tank open. He grudgingly had a very helpful young man take care of it while I waited. The other huge issue I had was the generator. It did not recognize that I had shore power and kept coming on. I had removed the fuse so this wouldn't happen in the RV park. While driving to Camping World Fife the generator kept coming on even though the fuse had been removed. So the shop managers repair was removing it from the cabin wiring forcing me to go outside to turn it on manually if I need it. This means in case if a power outage I would have to be present, which I can't be when I'm working. I do not consider this fixed at ALL. Then the woman who had taken down my work order told me she would call me tomorrow (Wednesday 5/25) well I still haven't heard from her. She also told me the shop manager would walk me through and explain everything they had done. When I asked him to do this he said "There's nothing there for you to see." I have never been treated so condescendingly. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

Horrible service!! Had an appointment at 8:30 am for an inspection on my 2015 travel trailer, which I was on time for. I drove an hour and half just for this appointment. Was told it would take an hour to complete. I had other errands to run, but since it was only going to take an hour I decided to stay. I gave them the benefit of doubt because I know they get busy. After 2 1/2 hours with no sign of starting the inspection I figured I'd waiting long enough. FYI. The waiting room is directly across from the service counter so they knew I had been waiting and not a single time did anyone at the service counter approach me about the long wait. When I asked about getting my keys back, stating that I had other places to go, Mark finally went into the service department to see what happened. When he returned all he said was "The service department manager doesn't know what happened and you can exit out this door." No sorry for the inconvenience or what can we do to rectify this. Too bad you can't give zero stars. It's amazing these people still have jobs!! read more

I am so glad to see other people have had the same experience I have had with Camp World in Fife. The manager of the store and service department are terrible. We have not used the service department in years since the service manager told us the only reason they sell tires is for customer experience not to compete with tire shop. This is a terrible experience. We have shop at Camping World all over the nation and have not ever experience this type of attitude. In fact generally they are very helpful to customer. Fife is the worst store we have been into and the only way we go in is if we know exactly what we want and do not need any help. The staff in the store is not knowledgeable in the product they sell. I would recommend going to Kent RV service they are outstanding and have very knowledgeable people around. Do not shop at Camping World they are not nice. read more

All you have to do here is read the other reviews. SERVICE DEPT. IS A COMPLETE JOKE....... This is at the Fife location. Quoted 475.00 in labor to install my Roadmaster tow brackets that I had already purchased. The service guy told me it can take 6 hours because you have to pull bumper to install etc. etc. Did not even ask me the kit number or vehicle to be installed on !! I stated to him this kit for my particular vehicle does not require bumper removal and they just slide in and mount to frame, no drilling and mount to factory holes in frame. He said they all mount about the same. Still no asking about kit or vehicle. Acted like he did not care if he got the work or not. I called 3 other places and got quoted from 195.00 to 250.00 to install. Do not go here unless you have no better way to spend your money and like being treated like crap. read more
