Poor experience. I was so looking forward to seeing this place and exploring the RVs since im in the market. The Ladies in front were nice and friendly, it wasn't until sales rep was introduced. Nice at first but was not personable, I could tell he was going through the motions to sell me an RV without understanding what i was really lookingfor. He showed me around and kept asking me to call me wife to have her come in to also look at the RV. I asked him multiple times to show me a specific length RV, and he kept showing me others. He didnt offer options or any additional support, then he was like, thanks for coming by. He was already pushing us out. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. I was so disappointed. Terrible service, take your business to another RV company. I bought a toy hauler and it did not come with a 30amp adapter plug and while I was out in the desert I ran out of battery and I had no way to charge my toy hauler. Camping World did not inlcude a spare tire on my toy hauler and they refuse to provide a spare tire becuase they said it is an "accessory" and not a necessity. I cannot stress this enough. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. In 2023 I bought a brand new travel trailer here, and within a couple of months it needed service due to leaks. They were unable to diagnose and fix them, and it lead to massive water damage including mold. I have been trying to get them to make it right for over a year, and I'm getting slow rolled and brushed off. When you call corporate, Marcus has a message that plays "If you're not happy, I'm not happy!" This is a lie, they will not do a thing for you. They already have your money, and they do not care if what they sold you is unlivable. Please, heed this warning, and buy anywhere else. read more

This is the worst place ever to buy a trailer. This organization scammed us and we ended up paying 10k extra in optional warranties that we did not even ask for. When you sign paperwork, they don't go over any of those things with you, just "benefits" that we will be receiving. Little did we know, those were optional warranties that we did not ask for nor did they offer or discuss. They just added it on without even telling us beforehand, but made it seem like they were free when asking us to initial. Do not trust them. They are an awful company that will do anything to make sure you pay extra and don't even tell you about the total amount before you sign off on it. They literally told us the total amount we were financing and we were so surprised when we got our loan back and it was 10k extra. read more

I had 60K budgeted to spend and I will be spending it somewhere else. You have no right whatsoever to any of my personal information unless I decide to purchase something. First off I want to say, my wife and I are first time travel trailer owners. it was always something we wanted, then decided to pull the trigger and purchase one. We did our research on where to go in the San Diego area, and decided on CW. From the moment we walked in we knew we were in the right place. Our sales person was Jennifer. She took great care of us. She walked us around to all the trailers explained everything to us, until we found the one that fit our family. Didn't push or try to upsell us. When we found our TT she turned us over to Blake and the finance team. We ended up going with our own bank because of the lower % rate. But they were more than helpful to find us rebates on top of manufacturer rebates also a good military discount. All in all we will be back when it's time to upgrade from our TT. read more

Times have changed since we bought our last RV. The lady informed us we needed an appointment to look at RVs. We were not aware of the this policy. We live over an hour away and are searching to buy two RVs. When she said we would have to give her our license to look, we said NO. It's one thing to give info, but No I'm not leaving my ID with a complete stranger. We drove another hour away to Giant RV, no appointment, no needing my ID. read more

I purchased an RV from this location about 2 weeks ago shortly after their conversion to Camping World. On the date of my credit application, I waited around for 3.5 hours for them to complete my application. Their reasoning was that they were having issues with their new system. No worries, not a big deal. I was told the application would take 1-3 business days and they would get back to me. On the 4th day I had not yet received a call so I contacted them on my own and they told me that there was an issue with the conversion to their new system (again) and that it would take another 1-3 business days. I found out I was approved 6 days after my initial application. Again, not a huge deal. I just wish I was contacted to tell me there were issues. We set the pick up date in which I was squeezed in to accommodate my schedule, which I appreciated. The pick up date went smooth and I was on my way. I received an email a couple days after pick up letting me know that there were some documents that they forgot to have me sign. I electronically signed them and returned them right away. That weekend I took a camping trip about 500 miles away and once again I received a call stating that there were further documents that I needed to sign. She asked me if I can find a printer/scanner near by to sign the papers that she forgot, all while I was on vacation. Irritating to say the least. While on the trip I noticed that the toilet was leaking around the base seal and into the shower. It was a 4 year old RV so I understood that there would be issues. Again, not a big deal. When I returned home from the trip I stopped by to sign the papers and notified them of the leaky toilet. They gave me the number to the El Cajon Service Center. When I called they notified me they wouldn't be able to get me in for a week. Not a problem, just annoying because i just bought the RV. She then asked me if I had purchased the extended warranty. I had, but why would that matter? Are they not going to stand by their product that they just sold me? While waiting for the day of my appointment, I started thinking about the sale and how unacceptable the process was from the start until now. I decided to go in and talk to my salesman. I explained everything to him that I previously stated in this review. He agreed it was unacceptable and called the manager of the service center to see if there was anything that could be done. The manager stated that my appointment was going to be the quickest they could get me in. My salesman then returned and told me he is going to get the general manager of the store to see what he can do. He returned to let me know the GM is swamped and asked if I can return in an hour and a half. I agreed. Upon returning, my salesman was nowhere to be found. The lady at the front desk called him numerous times and couldn't get ahold of him. A different sales me said he would get the GM, but he never returned. After waiting for an hour I decided to just leave. Its disappointing to say the least to have spent that amount of money and get treated the way I did. read more

I would like to share a quick overview of my experience with Airstream. I have been in sales and customer service for 27 years. And without fail I can say that Bret and his team put on an absolute clinic of perfect customer service. I woke up last Monday and decided after 3 years of shopping that I wanted an Airstream Bambi. I wanted it Thursday for a trip to the ocean. I called around for 2 days to dealerships and received literal laughter about driving off a lot with the trailer on Thursday by 1:30pm. My last call was to Bret at Camping World in San Diego, on Wednesday afternoon. Although they had a city utility problem that required them to shut down the sales-floor, Bret and his team made it possible for my to view the unit. They were incredibly courteous and professional, and at the same time immensely hospitable. I told him my time line, and as he and the very nice salesman had a good laugh... Bret said, "we will make it happen my friend!" I provided my information needed for financing, and by 5pm I was approved and making plans to pick up the trailer the following morning. I arrived at 10:30 sharp. I was met by not one or two people, but 5 gentleman waiting to ensure I had a perfect experience and that I was on the road by the time that was promised. After shaking hands and meeting the team I was taken for a complete walk through of my new trailer. This is where I met Todd. He was incredible. He knew every inch of the unit and was very patient with all of my questions. He walked me through every mundane detail and left nothing to question. Michelle in Finance was diligent, professional and informative. You can tell she loved her job and did it well. In the end, after meeting the most charismatic parts manager I have ever met, and having the amazing help of the service director, I was signed, Cleaned up and Hooked Up by 12:54. Bret and his team are the exact definition of customer service. What usually gets completed in 5/7 days was handled for me in 22 hours. We visited this location on Saturday, 16 November 2024. We primarily wanted a new showerhead but browsed all the shelves. This location is poorly stocked and has so much wasted space in their retail area. They stock nothing we need. We decided to window shop RVs and asked if we could look around. We waited about two or three minutes before a salesperson acknowledged us, they were chatting with each other, not a customer. All of their RVs are locked but a salesperson could accompany us, we were told. No thanks, we don't need a tag along while we browse. Why in the world wouldn't they open their rigs in the morning? La Mesa RV, right next door, opens their rigs. So I don't think it's a fear of crime. It's just laziness. We often visit Camping World in Michigan, their rigs are open, so it's not a store policy either. We won't go to Camping World San Diego again, it was a waste of our time. read more

My Grandson purchased a travel trailer and needed a co-signer. This was the worst experience I've ever encountered. We went there with a pre-approved loan. I went with my grandson to sign a contract, but they were so unprepared and we filled out paperwork and were told to come back two days later at 10:00am to sign the contract. After 45 minutes I requested to speak to the manager, then the finance manger wa ready for us. The paperwork was not complete and the paperwork we filled out two days prior was lost. I decided to come back later to sig the contract and all other paperwork. My Grandson signed and I was ready to do so, however the contract had my name incorrect and all the paperwork had to be resigned and my Grandson has to go in again (the 4th time) to sign the paperwork again. the incompetency of this is company is outrages and should not be allowed to be in business. read more

Not good at all. Our kids went to buy a trailer and found the perfect one. They got pre-approved same day and left a deposit, told to come back a week later so Camping World could go over the trailer and make sure all was good. Arrived to pick up the trailer and they changed everything on them. Steven and Andres the sales guys relayed everything wrong to our kids. Both stood there with a dumb look on their faces. The finance guy during the one week period is no longer, there so the new finance person Angie had different requirements. She was no better than the sales people. Then she tried to up-sell them on everything under the sun as if they want to give another dollar to this place. No one was helpful, no one took responsibility, no one gave a crap about the buyers. No one at CW told them to have insurance the day they arrived, just an absolute cluster and really bad buying experience. There are too many RV/Trailer sales lots in San Diego, avoid this one at all cost! Hopefully they never need warranty service, god only knows how bad that will be! read more

i bought a trailer here recently and it was like buying a house. So much paperwork and they try to sell you everything in the store. had to purchase a "let's go camping kit" (required) and still had to come back three days later for the equipment I paid for because they Failed to put it in the trailer. Had to wait almost a half hour for the parts guy to get it to me. Paid almost $30 for a ball for my hitch. Bought the Bluetooth break controller that didn't work and had to buy the regular one. They wouldn't install it because I didn't have it installed on the day of purchase. The people ignore you like you aren't even there. Overall they want your money and service is very poor. read more

all I can say about this place is not good. I entered camping world with the intention of making a purchase for the 4th of July weekend. The staff appeared hostile and overworked. It was sad. I didn't end up purchasing anything from camping world because I got the feeling that their products were subpar and cheap. I prefer high end products and the products they sell at this establishment would not meet even 1/3 of my expectations. Management was unhelpful and unfriendly. Bought a used trailer at Newport News, VA location a few years ago and was not thrilled with the experience. Out local RV dealer just transitioned to Camping World and we stopped in to look for our next trailer. Three men at the counter when we walked in; "Do you have an appointment? We just need your ID." NOPE! I am not the type of person to hand over personal information or discuss financing when I am just wanting to look. We walked out with a "thank you" while they back peddled. They stated the price was wrong and they were actually pricing it at 49000. Then they stated the roof needed repair so the price was going to be even higher. False advertising and liars! My wife and I recently paid a visit to Camping World on Copley dr in San Diego. We went to just look and we all know what happens then! We were greeted by Blake E and we chatted a bit and gave him an idea of what we were looking for in Travel Trailers. From the initial intro with Blake I knew right away this would be an enjoyable experience! Such a nice guy! And he has a great sense of humor! Blakes approach to sales is something I have not seen too much of for a while! Blake has the sales style where he listens to your needs. He showed us probably 5 to 6 units and we quickly narrowed it down to 2 units. All throughout the process, Blake never pressured us. Only asking questions that were pertinent to us making the right decision. He also had terrific knowledge about trailers and RVs in general .
