Best shakes in town! Campus has multiple flavors and you can create custom choice by combining options. Chocolate peanut butter and chocolate pineapple are regulars for us!

    The French Burger

I was hoping for so much more from Campus. We skipped the fast food stops on the 5 and decided to try somewhere a little different and I must say I was pretty excited to try a new burger joint. Some good sounding food on the menu with some of the lowest prices I have ever seen. I ordered the French Burger, which has three patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and on a French roll, which is where the French part of the name comes in. The burger was OK, just a lot smaller than I expected. With three patties, I was hoping for it to be significantly bigger. We ordered fries and fried zucchini as well. Both very obviously frozen then fried and both were quite disgusting. When you oven bake frozen fries at home, and they don't cook all the way so you taste that stale flavor when you bite into it. That's exactly what these fries tasted like. The zucchini were just as bad. The batter tasted like nothing. The zucchini fell out of the "batter pocket" as soon as you bite into it. You can taste the lousy quality of food here. I'm not holding Campus Drive In up to some painfully high standards here. I just want food that tastes good. Good enough to at least finish.

Very good BBQ but my favorite is the jalapeño burger. Fries, mushrooms and zucchini are all great!

This is a great place near West Hills College. Juicy hamburgers and great fries. Tri tip sandwiches are delicious!

Great food and service. I am a fan of drive through burger joints, and Campus is no exception. Have been visiting them for years.

I use to work in a small cafe back in the day so working in food service can be trying sometimes. I noticed they have added some menu items and Friday/Saturday dining options as well. Today they had a Monday feature of Tri-Tip Sandwich with either fries or fresh fruit. A free drink was included and I chose lemonade with cucumber and fresh mint. OMG that was delicious. They also had several flavors, strawberry-Hibiscus, strawberry, raspberry, and the cucumber mint lemonade. I chose to dine in and I received my food hot. The fries were perfect. Crispy and not greasy. I chose a hot chipotle ranch & ketchup. Yah, being a vegetarian is hard. I wasn't vegetarian today. I tore up that sandwich and left no crumbs ok maybe the butt end of the roll but that's for Buddha. While waiting I saw the advertisement for Friday night dinners & Saturday Brunch with Mimosas & Micheladas. It's just two staff so go easy on them. They off a 3% discount if you pay in cash. They also accept tap pay. Cool tunes too. Until next time. . .SYOYelp

I was seated in the bar area (no choice offered), which was odd as this was mid-week and the place was far from crowded. I was attended quickly and placed an order for a Tanqueray martini. It arrived well mixed. I decided on a porterhouse after confirming with my waiter that the filet would not resemble a t-bone, but be a full filet as a porterhouse should. The steak was cooked properly, salad and sides fresh and delicious. I took off a star because my waiter gave up on me. He had checked in several times (I eat really slow these days and it was a lot of food) and the last time offered to bring me a box. I was ready to order dessert, but after a full ten minutes of an invisible waiter, I went to the hostess and offered to pay. She said she would send my waiter to my table. So, back to my table I went and waited some more. By the time he arrived, I was very unhappy. I had planned on coffee and dessert. But ended up going to the gas station next door and picking up some canned espresso and cream. Walking to my car, was an olfactory assault. If you've ever driven past Harris Ranch and the miles of cows standing under the shade structures in their own feces, you have a mild sense of what I experienced. But this was so much worse. My eyes began to water as I imagined I was walking through the feed lots. The stench of urine and cow crap was obnoxious. Some way to end an otherwise good meal. Between the service and the outdoor aroma, I doubt I'll return.

We had read that they accommodated a lot of RVs and people with U-Haul's, etc., so felt safe staying there for the night. Checked in about 9 PM. Everybody was super helpful. We have our cats with us so we were a little stressed out about how it was going to be, but they made sure that we were comfortable and we were in a really nice, large and clean room. I did think that the property is a little bit dated. They've done a good job with upkeep. The only issue I really had was that when I got out of my car there was a very strong animal smell. I asked at the front desk with that smell was, and they said that it was fertilizer that they applied to the fields that night. It was intense. We got up and we're back on the road by 5 AM. Unfortunately we did not get to try the restaurant although I heard that their steakhouse is excellent. Also, the pool looked really beautiful and clean.

The bakery is part of the country store, which sells such random housewares and souvenir-type stuff. They have a chocolate truffle case on one side and the other side, the pastries and desserts. The pastries looked delicious and I got a few to try. They also have bags of day-old cookies for a good price. Eclair 4/5* I'm not a huge fan of eclairs with the soft fudge on top instead of the hardened chocolate. Taste wise though, it was a good eclair. The cream isn't overly sweet and the eclair itself was a light dough. Napoleon 5/5* If there's something Harris bakery does right, it's flaky pastries. Surprisingly, this Napoleon stayed crispy the entire drive home and survive even in the refrigerator the next day. Many others I've had usually get soggy, but these layers of puff pastry stayed crisp to the end of every last bite. The cream was fluffy and not too sweet, and paired perfectly with the ripe strawberries. Banana Cream Pie 3/5* I love anything banana and just had to get it when my eyes landed on the perfect swirl of whip cream covered in chunks of buttery crumbles, atop a neat little mini pie. However, the pie itself was too mushy. The crust was soggy, with the smoothness of the banana cream, soft banana slices, and rich whip cream, everything combined was too much mush. It was also too sweet. I did enjoy the crumble on top though. That was the only saving texture. Strawberry Cream Horn 5/5* Wow these were so unexpectedly delicious! The horn is super flaky and delicate, filled from end to end with a light strawberry cream. On top, bits of dehydrated strawberries were not only beautiful but added a nice tartness and texture, contrasting with the silky cream. This was a great upgrade on your classic cream horn. Chocolate Chip Cookies with Walnuts 3/5* Nothing special. They tasted better the longer they sat out because they were crisper. I prefer my cookies to have sea salt for that good balance of salty and sweet, but these cookies were just one noted. Next time, I have my eyes set on this towering cake they had on the counter and of course, take home some of those yummy cream horns.

It feels like our home away from home as we go back and forth from Northern California and to visit our family in Orange County. We always LOVED seeing the store and its unique gifts that filled the entire place. For some time, there looks to be maybe a quarter of what they used to have. So sad... I used to come and find a lot of my Christmas gifts for people during the holidays. This past Christmas, I went in and the place looked desolate. I was confused and wondered if I missed it all? I don't know if Harris Ranch is not doing well, but it really looks like they're struggling if you look at the empty feel of the store. We just left the shop now on our way back down to Southern California and once again shocked and highly disappointment. It was bad.. I really hope that whatever happening there gets better so that the store can return to the gorgeous shop that it once was.

They even have an ice cream shop, which is a nice bonus. The place is definitely showing its age, though. It looks pretty run down and about half the games and machines seem to be out of order. It's got a little less "Wild West attraction" and a little more "Wild West went out of business." The beer selection? Let's just say you won't get overwhelmed by choices. Then came the BBQ... somebody needs to check on that tri-tip because that thing was THIRSTY. Dry as hell and not much going on flavor-wise. Bring water for yourself AND the tri-tip. And the coleslaw... WHERE WAS IT?! I opened the container expecting coleslaw and got what looked like a tiny cabbage salad that had lost its will to live. No creaminess, barely any flavor, just a few vegetables having a meeting. The crispy fries actually showed up ready to work. Probably the MVP of the meal. Overall, it's a cool tourist stop with a lot to see, an ice cream shop, and a fun Wild West vibe. Stay for the fries and ice cream--just don't expect all the games to work or the tri-tip to have any moisture left in it.

We were not in a hurry but our section we saw others seated after in a different section and they got their food more smoothly. The section had larger tables but more communication from the person handling our table would have gone a long wait. From the point being seated, it took an hour to get our meal. We got no dinners rolls and our soup came with our meal. At the point of ordering we asked if the soup could be up-charged from cup to bowl and we were told yes. They instead charge us full price of a bowl instead of it being an up-charge (4 dollars vs 10). This should have been upfront and communicated. Disappointing experience and lot of the staffers were just chit chatting by the coffee station. Food for two adults and kids over 100 dollars was not worth it. We will not be returning. This is not the first time this experience has happened.
