This is a cute, nicely decorated restaurant in Carmel Mountain with very good food. I really liked the mural on the wall of Santorini (having been there on vacation recently). The rest of the decor and the lights were very modern. We came in for lunch and tried the gyro sandwiches, which were very good and filled with a big portion of tender meat. They also have a wide selection of interesting appetizers; we had the Tarmasalata. The cream cheese spread was very good and veggies were fresh. At first the prices seemed steep, but they seem to give generous portions (though we didn't try the plates). Our server was also quick and efficient. We will definitely be back to try more dishes! read more

Unfortunately, I have to update this review as the tahini dressing that came with my falafel sandwich had gone bad and the aftertaste was terrible. I dont think I will return after that happening. Oh well, lots of options where I am so I am not limited to coming back here. Higher prices and food gone bad isnt gonna work for me to give this place another chance. read more

Just went in for the first time today for lunch! Met the owner! The guy at the front helped a lot with the menu and what to order. I got the Greek Combination plate to try two different meats. The whole plate was awesome!!! Gyro was very tasty. The salad was very good! Usually I'm skeptical about a salad when it comes to a plate but this was very good. This is the first restaurant where my husband started liking Greek food LOL. Our visit was back in April of 2024. They have pretty mural decor inside the restaurant, but we sat outside because it was such a nice sunny day. He started with their Greek coffee, which they pour from a copper cup at your table. We shared the grilled halloumi, hummus, baba ghanouj, mini spanakopita appetizer, beef kabob plate, and the Greek combination plate. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Super filling plate but dry Kabob. We got the beef and kaftan Kabob plate. First thought off the menu was wow, this meal is pricey! When you get the plate, ok, that makes sense, because they're super generous with the portion. The ambiance was nice, staff was friendly, reason why it's 2 stars is the food is meh. Sure, rice, salad, pita, all ok. But what was supposed to be the star, the kafta Kabob for me was dry, so dry. My husband liked his beef Kabob and I didn't get to try his meal so I don't know how his meat was. I came out of there super full, but taste wise specifically for the meat, disappointed. I'm not saying they're bad, but, if I get asked for a Greek place to check out, I'd remember this place and will remember to not recommend. Definitely wouldn't go back here again. read more

Not run by a Greek, but the flavors would have one think so. This is a charming little restaurant with some excellent food choices. The appetizers are a nice selection, including hummus, avgolemono soup,, Tara asada, baba ghanouj, dolmades, falafel and grilled halloumi cheese. There are also ten salads from which to choose. The sandwiches and platters are dominated by chicken kabob and gyros meats, all quite tasty, though we had one experience with a dry chicken. They have a vegetarian plate too, and spanakopitas, falafel, lamb and moussaka. Parking can be hit and miss, as it's in a busy center, but, hey, one can ear and then shop at Trader Joe's or Ralph's or any of another twenty selections. read more

I went to Greek Corner Cafe on Christmas Eve with my friend and was warmly welcomed by the owner and his team. As for the food, I never would've thought to mix meat and hummus until coming here. It tasted amazing and paired very well. While you eat, there is a hand-painted mural of Santorini to look at. It truly feels like a slice of Greece in Carmel Mountain! read more

A cute little Greek restaurant with very authentic flavors. The gyros sandwich is massive and has such a great price for how big it was! I recommend getting the baba ghanouj as it was a wonderful side to pair with anything really. The portion sizes are pretty big so you could comfortably share it with another person. I am thoroughly disappointed with the food here. We visited on a Sunday afternoon, choosing this Greek restaurant because it was one of the options available with the Synergy Restaurant gift card we purchased from Costco. It's quite expensive for what it is, but we figured the gift card discount would make it worthwhile. We ordered a beef kabob plate ($32 for two skewers) and a chicken gyro ($14.25). Unfortunately, both dishes were major letdowns. The chicken in the gyro had a noticeably sour taste, and despite being very hungry, I couldn't bring myself to eat more than a couple bites of it. The beef kabob was dry and completely lacking in seasoning -- overall, very unappetizing. The salad had olives WITHOUT the pits removed. Is this standard? Careful you don't break your teeth while biting into one. The only redeeming parts of the beef kabob plate were the rice and the white sauce included. In short, I won't be returning. Not only are the entrées overpriced, but the food quality simply doesn't justify the cost. read more

We had requested no onion in the salad, but it was all throughout our salads. The dressing was tasty, but the amount was excessive. As a result, the pita soaked up a lot. The rice was bland. The meats I one platter were good but planted on top of the salad, rather than on the rice. Just not a great presentation. The price was out line with the average quality. We used to go to this place before Covid because their Kebob and Salads taste perfect, not salty but tasty. I'd rate that past experience 5-star. This time, two reasons why we gave this place only 4 stars are: 1. Over-priced for a neighborhood restaurant at Rancho Bernardo/Poway area. A 2-skewer Kebob plate for almost $30 is way too much considering that we just ate at Baba Kebob in Miramar and their 2-skewer Chicken Kebob plate is around $20. 2. So many comparable Greek/Mediterranean restaurants in the area that offer the same items at reasonable price. This place has to offer something special and unique to be able to justify their premium price. A 4-star rating is still okay but to get a 5-star rating, I recommend adding speciality items in your menu that can justify why you can charge more. read more

This place is so good! I can't believe I've only recently come in to try it. Came here for a post-hiking meal and was blown away. We were craving Mediterranean food and saw this nearby, so we decided to check it out after some good reviews. It's tucked away in the back of the shopping plaza, very unasuming. We walked in and were quickly seated. We ordered a few items to share and the food came out pretty quickly - we were astonished by the huge portion sizes (relative to our expectations, at least). Amazing food, great service and a friendly owner. We went in around 645 to get some dinner. We were greeted and seated by the shop owner. Very friendly man who loves what he does and is proud of his product. One of the few remaining restaurants that still get gyro meat from Gyrocones instead of pre sliced, you can taste the difference in the quality. I am a big fan of Greek Food. When you are in San Diego this is the place to go. You can either sit down or order to go. There is something for everyone. My daughter who is vegetarian found their vegetarian plate to be delightful. All their plates are filling and come with Pita Bread and a salad. So yummy. The owner was very kind and welcoming. Going to move to San Diego so scouting out restaurants around where we want to live. Came here for lunch on a Wednesday. Only one other table was occupied when we came in. There were quite a few takeout orders while we were having lunch, so maybe they do a good takeout business during the week. The server who greeted us said we could sit anywhere. He gave us our menus right away and once we put our menus down, he came right away to take our order. I ordered the Pita Sandwich and a bowl of Avgolemono soup. My sister ordered the Gyro Salad. My gyro sandwich had plenty of Gyro meat. The meat and the pita were moist and not dry. The tzatziki sauce was a little bit runny for my taste, but the flavor was good. My avgolemono soup had good balance between the tartness of the lemon and creaminess of the egg. The pita bread that came with the soup was soft and moist. My sister said her gyro salad was good. She also said her gyro meat was tender and not dry. All in all I think this place is a keeper. read more

Omg..l always order online delivery but needed some exercise. I had a taste for Greek cuisine. This Greek restaurant came up in Google. I drove there but decided to do a carryout instead. Friendly server but very professional and stated the spicy hummus was his invention..l forgot his name right after I got home. First l tried the gyro sandwich and there was so much succulent shaved lamb and tomatoes and onions so very delicious. For dinner l had a half beef kabob which with the rice and pita bread was juicy so flavorful. And l will get to the spicy hummus but first..that Greek salad..it was perfect..crisp fresh lettuce and red onion and tomatoes and a dressing that was heaven. I have leftovers to enjoy today. Now about that spicy hummus..it was instant fire.. like a strong attraction to someone. I was reaching for a drink but waited and it just remained a creamy delicious treat. Stopped in for early dinner. Ordered beef kabob platter which comes with rice, a very large salad and pita all served on the same platter. Kabob was very juicy and flavorful. It's really enough food for two. Hubby ordered the lamb shank which also comes with rice, large salad and pita. Hubby LOVED the lamb shank! Needless to say, we had a ton of leftovers! This place has been resurrected to its old glory from nearly 40 years ago. When Nacer owned it in the late'80s and early '90s, this place was phenomenal. Then, the Moghadam family ran it into the ground with the food being so horrid that I didn't come back for decades. Then, I tried it again recently while I was in the neighborhood, and it was very good! The young staff were very kind and helpful, and the ambiance was nicely decorated and clean. Also, the addition of the garlic sauce was a nice accoutrement to the tasty Mediterranean fare. If you are craving Greek food, the menu has a good variety of traditional dishes. It's a busy and popular place and the staff is friendly. The execution on my order was variable and overall I'd say this place is just ok. The positives: excellent gyro, good and generous portion of salad on my platter. They also used Kalamata olives which I love and the pepperoncini was fresh. The disappointments- I swapped out fries for rice and they were just too greasy. I think they were old and refried just before serving. The pita was cut into little wedges but it was too small to make little sandwich portions of my meal. The Avgolemeno soup was a major disappointment. This is my favorite soup and Greek dish and what I use as my "litmus test " for Greek restaurants. This variation was far from traditional. They used carrots and brown rice and it was way too salty. The brown rice is a strong flavor and takes away from the soup. The carrots..... why? Why on earth add carrots?!It changed the color to a very unappetizing look of mud and altered the flavor too much. Please go back to the traditional recipe! The gyros were the best item on my plate- perhaps a sandwich would be better next time. I'll come back as I want to explore other items - I just hope they are made in the traditional way. I come from a Greek family in Chicago and have been to several Greek restaurants to compare. From a service side, I wish they cleared my soup bowl before bringing my entree- it sat on the table the entire time I was there. It does have a charming Greek decor. Cute place near Trader Joe's! Went with something a little different for me, a souvlaki sandwich. The meat chunks were tasty, although slightly too large for the sandwich itself. (The pieces of meat kept rolling out of the bread, so most of the time I ate the meat separately.) We've been eying the Greek Corner Cafe forever as we drove by so we finally took the opportunity to stop in for a late lunch. We both ordered gyro sandwiches. The lamb gyros was the largest gyros I've had here in San Diego and definitely a tummy filler. We ordered a side of fries and Greek salad. Both were decent. The ambiance was quiet since we here at an off hour. There's ample outdoor seating and indoors. While there's the sound of passing cars they are not noticeable once you tune them out.
