Our impromptu visit to Canal Street Grille left us less than raving. The stark interior was unwelcoming and cold. Which perfectly matched the staff who were somewhat preoccupied or disinterested. Even the woman who appeared to be either the manager or owner was less than thrilled to be in the dining room let alone interact with the patrons. The food came out slow with a pleasant presentation but overcooked proteins. We ate, we paid, we left. The End

Walked in at 7:20 (kitchen closes at 7:30), and they were happy to sit us. We sat by the windows that overlook the canal which is usually a beautiful view but it was dark out. I ordered the lamb gyro and my wife got the Greek salad with lamb. It was delicious as always. We were in and out in 17 minutes flat. Great staff and great food. This is a staple for us and we will definitely be back!

Had a delicious lunch at this beautiful canal side restaurant that's been in business for many years. The restaurant is in an old Victorian house in Yardley, replete with original details. My food was perfectly prepared. The fresh pita was so unlike the ones served in most restaurants. These were light, soft & airy & perfect for the lamb gyro I ordered. The lamb was tender & perfectly seasoned. I asked for extra tzatziki sauce when I ordered, but it wasn't on my plate. I asked again when our waitress brought our food, but she disappeared. Nobody was answering the loud phone that kept ringing at the front desk. I finally asked another waitress for the tzatziki, & she came back after a while with a small container of an almost frozen sour cream with dill dip, not a true tzatziki- very disappointing! The final insult was being charged an extra .50 cents for the frozen dip. The service was absent. But my lamb gyro was excellent. I also asked for extra well-done fries with no salt & they were perfect, hot & extremely crispy. I'm sure this was a case of understaffing or something because this restaurant has such a great reputation. Again, the food was perfectly prepared & on point, but our server wasn't having her best day of service.

Haven't been to Canal Grill in a number of years as we were going quite often and we're exploring elsewhere but now we seem to have come back to where we had started for Mediterranean comfort food. That's a good menu options very friendly staff very clean very accommodating. We absolutely enjoyed our dinner last night and will be putting Canal grow back on our regular rotation.

Fabulous atmosphere! Excellent food!! Delicious Desserts!!! AWESOME SERVER (( Peggy, You ROCK!!!! )) We had the Beet appetizer, the 10 chicken wings which had Great flavor, But rubbery fatty, my husband and I ordered the Chicken Parmesan! Crispy and perfectly Sauced! Over spaghetti..... Yummmm. My Favorite ! The issue was the dinner was NOT hot, the pasta under the chicken was Cold, but I finished mine! My husband left a good sized portion, because Who wants to eat a Half COLD dinner for $22. 00? And your online menu IS NOT updated! Online, the prices reflect, $18.00. My Mom had the Scottish Salmon with a raspberry pomegranate cranberry reduction with risotto and a side of fresh Broccoli and Cauliflower!! Perfection. My Aunt had their Greek Salad with grilled chicken and the trio platter of pita flatbreads and Baba ghanoush, hummus and tzatziki sauce. Dessert was Rice pudding and baklava both house made. The baklava was Tough and the rice pudding was tasty but Undercooked! My husband is a chef of 33 years, I'm not sure if their chef tastes and checks their food but for the reviews and the raves from my Aunt, I was a Bit HYPED UP... and looked forward to her birthday dinner all day! I left Canal Street Disappointed and saddened for how the owner just stood there in the midst of their restaurant thriving but Clearly NOT ENOUGH help. Why wouldn't the owner Set the Night Up for success? Are they perhaps, Understaffed ?? I'm not sure but that's how it appeared. The ONLY issue I had, was in the midst of our delicious dinner, the restaurant was SLAMMED and Our server Peggy and the few other staff were Running around but the owner literally Did Nothing to assist or Help. My husband asked for a drink for my mother and the owner told my husband that Peggy Can get it. Wow. she passed it off to Peggy who had her hands More than Full and she was standing in front of the soda machine, literally Doing NOTHING. It Is Disappointing to see, my family has owned several restaurants since the 1940's and we would Never just stand there while our Staff were struggling. We would've hopped in the Trenches with Staff to Help service the customers. My Mind is seriously BLOWN AWAY tonight. I mean, what if my mother was choking and needed a drink? Would she have Just stood there? Our Bill for 4 adults with the items above came to $171.50. A experience, But Definitely NOT worth THAT MUCH to see how the servers were left to sink! Hopefully, Peggy doesn't have to split tips with the owner! I'm sorry, But Smarten UP! My grandmother would've Hopped IN to help or refill drinks or Something! It's a disgrace to see an Owner NOT set up her Staff for Success!! It's a direct reflection on how Little the owner cares. We won't be back, I will spend my Hard earned Money elsewhere.

This was our first time here. I've been wanting to try it and it was my besties birthday so a group of us went and we love a BYOB! We got to try a bunch of dishes and apps and not one of them disappointed. For apps we got The Mussels, The Greek Dip Trio, The Roasted Beets and The Falafel with their homemade Tzatziki Sauce! For our mains I got the Lamb Gyro with Greek Salad picture attached (So GOOD)my one friend got the chicken gyro with fries, my other friend got the Vodka Rigatoni as recommended by one of the staff and said it was amazing, my nephew got the angus burger with cheese and the lemon roasted potatoes and my husband got the Classic Moussaka, everyone was thrilled! Sorry I didn't take more pictures, I guess you'll just have to there yourself. The service was great and our waiter looked like someone famous that we are still trying to figure out. Next time we want to try the outdoor seating because it looks idealistic. Big Fan!

Great place for lunch in the quaint town of Yardley PA. I had the crab cakes, which came with these delicious little lemon flavored potatoes and some veggies. The salad was also delicious and everything was very fresh.

The service was somewhat slow, but the waitress was very nice. Their beer was in cans or bottles. I ordered a Head Hunter IPA and it had a date code from the summer, so their stock was a bit old. I split a bowl of crab bisque $15 with my son. It was ok on spices/flavor and had small strips of crab, but the body was on the thinner side and I didn't think it was creamy enough. A miss, plus the guy who brought it out must have had the soup shift on the walk over so he had his thumb on top of the spillage that went onto the rim. I should have sent it back, but we were hungry. The small cornbread muffins that we had before our meals came out were tasty. After discussing the lunch menu with the waitress she said the Yardley Burger was very popular. $19 - roasted tomato, boursin cheese, hand cut fries. My son ordered the chicken cutlet - $18 fresh mozzarella, vodka aioli and chips. He skipped the sauteed spinach that was supposed to come on it. They took awhile to come out. The burger had a ridiculous amount of boursin on it (plenty of herbs and garlic coming off it), the meat was bland and the hand cut fries were a tad soggy. Even the bun was weak, so for $19 they can keep it. My sons sandwich was much better. The vodka aioli flavor was a home run with the thick cutlets. Still not worth $18, but much better than the burger. I had a Yards Washington Porter with my burger that slightly helped my disappointment. This place only gets the 4th star because I love history and the building has it. It was just OK other than that. Maybe a dinner/date night is in order to see what these higher yelp reviews are all about. Their entree prices seem much more in line. For lunch, I'm a no.

The materials make it look like a public facing pub serving new-american food and beer. I was surprised I had never heard of this place as long as I've lived in the area, and now I know why! If you really want to know what it was like.... Walked in, waited 5 minutes with one to two dozen geriatric sun stroked golfers gawking at my wife (one of three females in the building including the bar tender and one waitress?). Eventually someone in a spiffy polo shirt asked if we are here for "a quick lunch". It was past 5. Anyway, I say "Yea, dinner and some beer.". Now at this point, he does not offer to seat us. Instead he just stands there and looks at us. It was super awkward. Taking the initiative, I ask if we should seat ourselves. He says sure sit anywhere you like. Many of the tables were dirty, and they claim they open at 4pm (so its been just an hour yet..). We managed to sit at a clean table in the middle of the room. Then we waited again. Watched a few more walking viagra commercials try to eye fuck my wife and another girl who had the misfortune of being there. I wink at the wife to signal that we might bag it. Waited some more. Kid started getting cranky. No activity. I see the guy that we originally talked to was still hiding in the corner, clearly he wasn't trying to serve us. No utensils/menu/greeting, no activity etc. There was only one waitress and she was clearly busy trying to pretend that she liked golfers. So we bagged it and left. Other then giving this place a shot I have no regrets about walking out. Not planning to try it again. Would not recommend unless you are the type that needs to drink beer when you tell your family you are golfing.
