I was in the area for business and this restaurant was in walking distance from my hotel. The area has a mall and plenty of chain restaurants nearby. The restaurant appeared to be clean and for a week night there was a decent crowd. I was pleasantly greeted by the hostess and my server was also very friendly. I typically have to be in a mood for a seafood boil but I had eaten at the same restaurant 3 days straight and wanted something different. I played it safe and did the snow crab and shrimp boil in a garlic butter sauce that was very tasty. The corn and sausage were also good. I washed it down with a cold Stella. The restaurant was clean, and our server was super sweet and attentive. The appetizers were great, but the seafood boil itself was just okay. I've had better seafood boils in Maryland. My boyfriend and I weren't really into the King Cajun Seafood Special Sauce. I usually go for house special sauces since they're usually good, but this one just didn't hit the spot. We ordered the hot spice level, but it wasn't spicy at all, and the sauce had this creamy taste--maybe they added flour or cornstarch to thicken it? I prefer my seafood boil sauce to be zesty and spicy. We ended up ordering a side of Cajun garlic butter sauce instead, and that was way better in my opinion. I also wish I had asked for a side of lemon slices (my bad), it would've made the flavors pop more with some extra zest and tang. One thing I really liked about the restaurant was that their seafood sizes were enormous! The shrimp and crawfish were jumbo-sized, and the Dungeness crab was packed with meat. Oh, and a heads up, when we ordered extra corn, we thought it would be three cut pieces, but I think it was actually three whole corn cut into thirds. I've seen several restaurants like this in bigger cities (Cleveland, Pittsburgh), but this is the first one to come to Niles...although I believe there is a similar place in Boardman. The specialty of this restaurant is a seafood boil....and the seafood is very good. Every boil comes with potatoes, andouille sausage, and corn on the cob. Aside from that, you get to choose the seafood protein to add to your boil, the sauce flavor, and the heat level you prefer. Be advised that the seafood boil comes out very hot, and you'll be using your fingers to eat it...so be careful. They have many other items on the menu, all of which are seafood. I've heard they are really good as well, but I've only had the boil personally. I hope this place makes it, because I enjoyed it very much, and because, other than Red Lobster, there are no other seafood-centric restaurants in the area. read more

I love seafood, & King Cajun knows how to make it. I have never had shrimp & corn chowder before, but it was better than clam chowder which I love. The scallops were perfectly done as were the onion rings. Their special sauces were to die for. Best of all from Monday through Saturday, 11-3, their fried baskets are $9.99 instead of $14.99! I was highly impressed by the service and food here. We started with a dozen raw oysters. I was sad they didn't have a vinaigrette served with these or lemons, but I could request them. They were huge and super fresh. For the boil bag, we got a make-our-own. We ordered snow crab, green and black mussels, clams, crawfish, king crab, and lobster. For the sauce, non-spicy and garlic butter. We got sides of old bay butter, dry old bay seasoning, and special house sauce. I cannot rave about how amazing the garlic butter was. It was very ample, and almost like a roasted, mashed garlic clove, so it was hearty and super flavorful. Due to the large order, we didn't get it served in a boil bag but brought it out in a huge tray which was fine, with so much corn, potatoes, and sausage. I don't think it was a Cajun sausage, they said but a kielbasa. Yet I may be wrong on this. Either way, it was delicious and didn't take away from the experience or meal overall. I will say they served us Dungeness crab instead of the king crab, but they noticed as it was brought out and brought it out after in the boil bag. It was one leg that was an lb., no joke, the size of my arm. The best carb I've ever tasted. They also forgot the lobster but didn't charge us for it, so no harm, no foul. We had so many leftovers anyways. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. The unique house sauce had a mild kick but was my favorite flavor enhancement to the meal. The restaurant was so clean! Taken my dad here a few times and the food is good but the service always great. The whole staff is very sweet, the kitchens social and always checks on you after your meal. The food is always good. Service is spotty sometimes. Nice close place. The only thing I don't like is you go with a family spend good money and they sneak a service charge in there. Raise the prices then. They charge 27 dollars for a service charge then it takes the bill even higher then want a tip of 40 so they make 70 plus the 200 you spent. Naa bad business practice. Food was great but the service definitely needs improving.First the plates they gave us to eat on were dirty. They don't automatically give you tools to help you eat your crab. This Was one of my favorite restaurants and always have had great customer service and great food, but yesterday 5/11/2024 1230pm I received the worst customer service I have ever encountered by any establishment ,Walked in with a group of four people in front of me and the young lady came out with a smile and greeted them and asked was it a party of five,they politely said no because I wasn't in their party,she seated them and came back to me and asked and I quote"IS THERE SOMETHING I CAN HELP YOU WITH" My response was yeh,I would like to sit down and eat like you just offered the people before me.I found that quite odd,and weird that they were seated without question but I was asked was it something I could be helped with,Wow Really,ordered Gumbo and Steak and Chicken Hibachi,She brought my Gumbo out,cold and with a spoon in the bowl,at this point I just left and called the manager who went on to try and make right her horrible customer service,He went on to explain that she may have thought I was uber eats or door dash which was BS...why was I treated different than the people before me,why was I not asked about seating,instead of "IS IT SOMETHING I CAN HELP YOU WITH" As a Disabled Veteran on a fixed income that's not able to get out often I was hurt,disappointed and made to feel less than,I really feel I was discriminated against and treated like this waitress didn't want to serve me and she knew exactly what she was doing.I will never go back to this establishment, I have spent several thousand dollars in this place and to be treated like that was crazy but also a eye opener,I will be reporting this establishment to my VFW and will definitely be put on the no fly zone as a buisness to not patronize,thanks King Cajun for ruining my day,totally disrespectful and the worse customer service I have ever had,will not be back. read more

Worst experience at a restaurant I ever had. Aside from the fact that the food was terrible. I mean spoiled bad crab legs, no onion onion rings. I mean spitting out food in our napkins bad. The person who took us there was very excited to go there an had been waiting for months. I wanted to just to leave but I wasn't paying an it wasn't my place. We were pretty much told sorry no dish washer ( the day before) so no crab crackers. I thought I was on camera an it was a joke! We had 5 people eating crab legs an were told sorry no crackers. I had to go to the bar an ask for crackers. And had to hear a big story about how they had to wash them. Don't need a story. Maybe wash them when we order $300 in crab meat. No management anywhere. 3 waitress an the place was empty. Our server was really really put out by us being there. She knew nothing about the menu. Her worlds were "I don't know" what she did tell us was false. The table was open at both ends but she made us pass our own drinks an dishes down like it was family style instead of serving us. At a restaurant asking for $50 plates. It was pulling teeth to get this girl to talk to us. She was really bothered that we were taking up her time I guess. I had to ask for coffee like 5 times an she never brought the cream till it was cold. Which I had to ask for several times. She had 1 other table! She never brought us the drink refills we asked for. She never came back to check on us. She had no personality which sucked but she still could of done her job. Our host was experiencing a win an would have been very generous with a holiday people. We are working class people an believe in taking care of people who take care of you. 5 people , $350 and we all left hungry. We went home an made oatmeal. McDonald would have been better. Ramen noodles would have been better. Zero stars. Negative stars. It was so bad it was almost worth is just to look back an laugh. If I had been paying an w different company it would have been handled much differently. She was still tipped but she had no idea what she missed out on. He had been waiting months an it's Xmas. She would of made a 50% tip had she show the slightest bit of kindness an hospitality. It not her fault the food was rotten an awful. But she made it so awkward. Nice restaurant with friendly servers. Their fried shrimp basket is awesome! The shrimp poor boys would be good if they used shrimp without tails. I had to take the shrimp out of my sandwich to remove the tails, then put them back. It really made a mess. The fried oysters are also delicious. Their fries & onion rings are good & not salty. The hostess did a amazing job in greeting us and making us feel welcome when we came in. As far as the service we got from are waitress I was not impressed. She was kinda friendly but was not a very good server . We received are dinner before are appetizer and when we were finished she did not take any of are dishes off the table. Are sea food boil, king crab, mussels, crawl fish and black mussels were over cooked and the king Cajun sauce was to salty and not a good combination of seasonings and flavor.
