I was skeptical when I saw 5 stars and only a few reviews. Yet, I haven't come on Yelp so quickly to post a review as I did today. I was running late to work and ordashed a breakfast blt and orange juice. Unfortunately, once I got to work, I couldn't eat right away, so my sandwich sat for a couple of hours. The good news is that my sandwich tasted AMAZING. Everything was cooked perfectly, and it tasted so fresh. The orange juice was also delicious. Sometimes, orange juice tastes too acidic or like it's been sitting there for a while, but this one tasted freshly squeezed with fresh ripe oranges. I am super impressed with everything. Our order: mt Diablo scramble, breakfast burrito with bacon, grilled sweet potatoes, kale + broccolini for sides. The scramble was a party in my mouth with all the different textures from the fresh diced tomatoes, tender greens and mushrooms, crispy and thick bacon, stretchy cheddar and fluffy eggs. The bowl filled my stomach to the brim. The sweet potatoes were grilled to perfection - soft and mushy yet they maintained their shape. I could use a little more salt on the vegetables but it was quite aromatic with garlic. The express location is in Clarion Hotel by Concord DMV and Veranda. My friend and I ordered in from here after a hike - so we were both ready for some food! I normally don't rate places just based on to go orders, because rarely does it do a restaurant justice. But man, this was solid! We each got a breakfast burrito, hers was vegetarian, while mine was all three meats! I loved it and it was so big that it lasted me 2.5 meals! All of the great flavors of their sit down spot in Walnut Creek but in great easy take out options! On my way out for a walk I chose to order ahead on their app so I could get out the door quicker. Listen up, because I have cracked the code to order the best breakfast burrito. You want to get it on a flour tortilla with bacon and add avocado and onions. This combo with the salsa that comes with the burrito is the best way you can enjoy one! Trust me. I love that the avocado is nice big chunks throughout! The bacon was thick and everything was spread evenly throughout the burrito. So each bite was perfection! I also got a cinnamon roll on the side which I saved for a treat after my walk. This place is tucked behind the Clarion Hotel in Concord. It's a little difficult to find if you have never been before. When you go up to the door, you ring the bell to pick up your order. You see people standing around and it's not really clear what is happening. But fear not, someone comes out to call out the names on the orders. I am a huge fan of Sunrise Bistro, whether at the restaurant in Walnut Creek or for catering. And this Express version of SB did not disappoint. I must rave about their veggie breakfast burrito, it's HUGE as I just ate the second half for lunch. Such a satisfying combination of broccoli, zucchini, potato, egg & cheese wrapped in a delish wheat tortilla. My 18 month old loved the blueberry muffin and the Bistro even included a surprise complimentary cookie with my pick up order. Excellent! In all honesty, this is easily one of my favorite breakfast places in the Concord, maybe even in the whole bay. While the breakfast burrito is my favorite (wrapped or in a bowl), there's so much more on this menu that you can't pass up on. I was never the biggest fan of breakfast sandwiches that includes biscuits because 8/10 times the biscuit is dry, but not in this case. Their biscuits are large, buttery, lightly sweet, and moist I was honestly really shocked at how much I enjoyed it because it didn't make sense to me. The service when delivering is fast and friendly and the staff is incredibly kind if you have any questions or need help with your order. They really took the term "express" literally here because the food arrives hot every single time. I honestly am a bit obsessed with Sunrise Bistro, but having to cut out the entirety of the restaurant without cutting the quality of the food is very impressive to me. Both the sit in and the delivery restaurant are top notch here in the east bay, for me this is a no brainer breakfast spot! read more

We love Sunrise Bistro...and the Express version. Food is consistently the same, this location is much easier to access before work than WC...but we've never had a bad meeting with a burrito from here. Only downside is the much smaller menu than the main restaurant. While I am an adult and understand why....sometimes you just want lemon ricotta pancakes with berry compote or bread pudding. We will continue to use the Sunrise Bistro Express to make the work day brighter. You can't go wrong....the food is really consistent and doesn't change up over time. This is by far the BEST breakfast place in town... and has been for what... 42 years now? That is crazy. Still family owned, even the cooks have been there for decades. The staff is friendly and helpful, and once you figure out which line to order in, you grab a seat enjoy the coffee. I like to sit outside when the weather is nice. I usually get the Richards' special with eggs over medium, fruit (no meat), and the whole grain pancakes. YUM! It comes with warm berry compote too. No matter what I order, I feel good before, during, AND after. That is a huge win in my book because most places just serve crap with sugar all over it to hide the mess. I called the number and the young woman was very helpful and courteous, explaining to me that they do not take phone orders - you have to order on line and they text you when your order is ready.
