GOOMBA for the win! Stopped by to grab a couple sandwiches for lunch today. It was a better visit than the last, so that's great! Tried the GOOMBA today, it's like an upgraded version of their Italian. It's a Dutch crunch roll filled with ham, capicola, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, red wine vinegar, and toppings like tomatoes, lettuce, pepperoncinis, and you can add onions and pickles if you like that on your sandwiches...I did without. The bread was fresh, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was a fresh tasting sandwich and I'd say they redeemed themselves from our previous visit. Unfortunately, the ladies weren't staffed well with only two people making dozens of sandwiches. We walked in and there were easily 30 orders ahead of us and Elizabeth hustled so much to make our sandwiches with a smile even though the two ladies were extraordinarily busy. Elizabeth is amazing and should be commended for her hard work, diligence and pleasant attitude. The manager should do a better job in staffing appropriately during special events. during my last yelp elite event, i stated mr. pickles was a top 5 spot for me, and my return to concord's establishment cements it for 2025. i ordered through the app, and i ordered for me and the boys today, Royal Rumble 2025. it was sad not to see the Manhattan sandwich, which was a favorite i had. therefore, i ordered their CJ's Pastrami. i went inside, and while i awaited for the crew to assemble our lunch, i noted the inside view was clean, smooth and had some good ambiance: good music, good customer service and a quick wait time for my sandwiches cj's pastrami (9.1/10) warm, toasty sandwich fulled with pastrami, swiss cheese and all the good veggies, including pepperoncini. should've got a second one with my hunger overall, all of us got different sandwiches, amazing in their own style, and everyone approved. the staff was also amazing by adding some complimentary chocolate chip cookies for us and marking them correctly. plus, jey uso won the Rumble by eliminating john cena and winning me $100 thanks, mr pickle read more

Sandwich was good but not sure if this matches their club sandwich because it doesn't appear to be as much meat in the roll I got. Maybe two pieces of turkey, two pieces of ham, and one piece of bacon, with lettuce, avocado, tomato, and Dijon mustard. $15 for a whole roll with what I mentioned. It was good though. Mr Pickles has a number of locations but this entry focuses specifically on the location in Concord, California on Clayton blvd. The sandwiches were all superbly constructed and tasted great. Today, my online order was supposed to have been ready at 12:30 pm. Upon arriving 10 minutes prior, I explained to the manager that it was acceptable to not have the order completed. Mr. Pickles expressed to myself greatest of customer service. They had a large unplanned order that delayed orders. The manager was apologetic and insisted free drinks and cookies as compensation. Ultimate Sandwich Pleasures await! First time getting delivery and wow, so good. I ordered the "Got Beef" with all the standard options, including what might be the best dutch crunch roll I've ever tried. I love balance in a sandwich's composition and this delivered, not too much meat or veggies or sauce or roll. Just the right amount of everything. This one was a "hot" sandwich and that meant it was room temp on arrival, but that was fine. I liked that the cheese was melted and the roll had a nice extra crisp texture. I got the classic Mr Pickle sandwich and it was phenomenal! In terms of taste, 10/10. The food just felt extremely overpriced, not like everything nowadays but genuinely it's like $12 for the medium sandwich that's not even the normal size. This is such a late review and I'm surprised I haven't done it yet. Friend/coworker and I often stopped by here to have a late lunch after visiting some of our patients in the area. My SO jokes that we pretty much lived here. The staff were always very friendly and welcomed you into the store, even when it's busy. There were ample seating in the restaurant, though I haven't gone during the lockdown, and the dining area was always kept very clean. Another upside is that it's in a plaza so you don't have to worry about parking at all. I always switched between the Italian, The Mr. Pickle, and I swear there's another chicken sandwich with ranch dressing but I can't find it on the online menu. Always got them on a Dutch Crunch bread. We found that the sandwiches were always freshly made and that the ingredients tasted fresh as well. To top it all off, you get a nice big cookie as a dessert. read more

My new favorite sandwich spot! First of all, I want to say that the staff and the owner are extremely attentive and sweet. My husband and I came around 1:30pm and they were very busy. However, they were not overwhelm by the long line. I couldn't finished my sandwich and when my husband asked for a box to go the owner happily offered to wrap it for us (again the line was still long.) I was amazed by how pleasant they were even though they were super busy. The establishment was very clean as well. Now the food. I ordered the "kickin chicken hot sandwich" which was supposed to be spicy but it wasn't too much. It was amazing though. This location is in a small center with a few other businesses on Clayton Road, across from Dunkin' Donuts. The employees at this store were friendly and helpful, recommending which sandwiches to get and confirming that the to-go order was bagged well and correct. I chose their signature sandwich and another popular sandwich, along with chips, drinks, and a cookie. The sandwiches were well made and I had a short wait! First off - I received no endorsement, reward or other perk for this review - I paid my own hard own cash for two sandwiches - and received only two things: 1) great customer service, and 2) two really delicious sandwiches. Can you say "Verified Purchase"? So my wife and I had a pretty tight afternoon schedule - running off to give the keynote to a startup pitch competition in Hayward, then straight off to a private rock gig I was playing in San Francisco. No time to eat in between! What to do? I've seen the Mr. Pickle's "sign spinner" on the sidewalk plenty of times, and always wondered - "How does a person dressed in a pickle outfit feel about their life choices?" or "Does that fabric breathe?" or "Really, how hard is it to make a sandwich at home?" The answer to that last question, is - "It depends if you have the time, the ingredients and the patience..." I had none of the above. So I pull up sandwich shops on Yelp app, and figure let's give it a tap. I'm offered two phone numbers. The "ordering" one drops you to Door Dash, so I click the "general information" and I connect direct to Mr. Pickles (or, at least, his order taking proxy). Excellent - faster than I thought. I drive over - hint to you Google Maps users - make sure you enter from Clayton Road driveway; Google maps suggested a "back way" that...isn't one. Not Mr. Pickles fault, as I shake my fist at Mr. Google's deception. Pick up and pay - all swift and effortless. Later that afternoon on the road, my wife and I dive into these sandwiches. I heard good things so I gave this place a shot. I am vegetarian but also don't like peppers and cannot eat raw onions. I was looking for a sandwich to order and I let the 1 other person there go ahead. The man behind the counter really rushed me. I finally ordered a Veggie Pestoli and asked for no peppers of any kind an d no onions. He repeated it and I confirmed. He told me to go pay. I usually like to watch to make sure there are no onions. He said no peppers and onions and directed me to go pay. I drove to Emeryville with my sandwiches to open mine and find a few Ingredients missing but plenty of pepperoncini and onions. I believe extra onions. So now I'm too far away to go back and have an expensive sandwich I can't eat. Allowing me to watch my sandwich be made would not have slowed the process and would have allowed me to have lunch.
