Two has gone bad!!! It's rotten cream
    Michelle C.

Update: I called the eatery to let them know about the spoiled cream they served. I wanted to let them know before someone got sick since my niece and nephew were going to eat them too! And they were most apologetic. And even offered a refund. Which was a nice gesture. I will go back and try it again. But if it is spoiled again then the relationship is over. Ok i use to come here a lot to get their cannoli and gelato. It's amazing. Always had to wait in line to get it, and be patient with the amount of people just wanting to get one. Now with the pandemic, I don't know if it's because there is less people or I don't know what.. I just got chocolate, pistachio, and original. The original is still great and creamy. However, the chocolate and pistachio was rotten!! It has gone bad. It was sour! That's just disgusting! One...ok...but two flavors?! Wow. The quality of this place has gone down

Unfortunately a let down. I was excited for all eataly had to offer and planned to get a cannoli after dinner from cannoli e bambolini. They offer gelato as well. We went in the early afternoon around 4 pm. Still, after waiting in line and ordering a classic cannoli we were told they were out. I asked for a different flavor and she said they were out. I asked for another flavor and she said they were out. At that point I asked ok what DO you have. She said only chocolate. Was she going to let me run through the whole menu, lol? We finally got our $6 cannoli and we're deeply underwhelmed. The shell was not crunchy and was clearly sitting out all day in a moist restaurant. The filling was rich we were all done after one bite. The service was deeply rude and the cannoli underwhelming. Gonna have to pass next time.

Would I eat cannoli and bomboloni for breakfast? You bet I would! We descended upon Eataly on a quiet Thursday morning in early January, post holiday and post opening month hype. I had a plan, we arrived starving, so we went down to the second floor of Eataly to have coffee and sweets before going back upstairs to shop and eventually have lunch. I took my Italian friend with me and all she kept saying was, "OMG, OMG, OMG...". Lavazza & I provided the morning coffee and, in divide and conquer strategy, my friend was tasked with cannoli and bomboloni retrieval. I'll preface by saying that I have never had a "fresh" cannoli in Los Angeles...and in restaurants it's never crisp and sometimes a bit soggy or else super refrigerated. Here it is filled fresh to order and so the outer shell stays crisp and crunchy and the filling is room temperature. It's amazing! You'll taste the difference right away. The ricotta filled is a bargain at $3.80. The flavored choices, each $4.20, are: pistachio, honey/caramel, chocolate, tiramisu and hazelnut. We had the hazelnut and it was incredible. The bomboloni we had to wait for because it was being fried fresh! OMG indeed. The cream filled is $4.80 and came warm and oozing with just the right amount of cream filling. If we hadn't had a lunch reservation, I dare say we'd have never left the second floor. I need to go back to try the flavored fillings, strawberry jam or apricot jam for $4.80. You may also get a plain unfilled bomboloni just dusted with sugar for $2.80. These are both addictive. You need to go... Yelp Challenge 2018: 3/100

Amazing bombolone, next to the bag it was served in

The dessert spot at Eataly on Level 2, in between the cooking school ("La Scuola") and the coffee shop ("Lavazza Caffe"). They serve cannolis, bomboloni, and many flavors of gelato! I ordered a bombolone (solo) with custard filling, and it provided an amazing sugar high! Highly recommend going downstairs after your shopping/eating upstairs on Level 3.

Vanilla flavored Bomboloni (Top) and Hazelnut Cannoli (Bottom). Both were tasty & generously piped, but the ultimate winner was the cannoli.

After dining at Il Pesce Cucina for lunch, it was dessert time! What trip to Eataly wouldn't be complete without cannolis! I never had a bomboloni before, and so this was my first trying it. Originally, Tora M., Isobel L., and myself were going to have cannolis and bombolonis for breakfast, however, they didn't open until 11 a.m., on the Sunday when we had gone. Therefore, we came back here after lunch for dessert. We ended up sampling just one cannoli and one bomboloni, before heading back upstairs to go shop at Eataly (and of course, to burn it off too, lol!). Parking: Mall parking, and they don't validate anywhere in Eataly! Located right next to LavAazza Coffee, Cannoli e Bomboloni is a beautiful shop that sells freshly, hot baked bombolonis and cannolis with generous piping of your favorite flavors. In addition, they also share their space with IL Gelato that sells gelatos. Tora got the cannoli, I got the bomboloni, while Isobel secured a table for us. Afterwards, Isobel and I got coffee drinks from LavAazza. She got a Correcto with Sambuca and I got a Bicerin. Isobel also did a great job of cutting up the desserts evenly amongst the three of us. We joked that since she's a Mom, she's tasked with cutting it, and true to her motherly nature, she sliced it evenly and neatly for us, lol! $4.80 Bomboloni (Round, Fried Doughnut) - vanilla flavored. With so many yummy flavors to choose from, I wanted to get them all, but wanted to place myself so that I can have another opportunity to come back here again, hehe! Tora recommended the apricot jam flavor, but, I was bummed that they didn't have that in stock. Therefore, I settled on the vanilla flavor. The bomboloni itself was quite tasty! Not as sweet as an American doughnut. The fried dough was lightly dusted with sugar on the outside, while the inside was soft, fresh and fluffy. The custard itself was pipped generously inside, and not overly sweet either. It tasted a little bland and wasn't as aromatic as vanilla should be. I wouldn't get this flavor again. Afterwards, we tried the $4.20 Hazelnut Cannoli (Specialty Flavor). Between eating the Hazelnut flavored and the vanilla flavored bomboloni, clearly, the cannoli won. Generously piped with hazelnut flavor, it tasted sweet, light, nutty and had a really aromatic scent to it. The cannoli itself was thick, hearty and easy to bite into. Best of all, when Isobel split the cannoli for the three of us, it cut through the plastic knife with the greatest of ease, and the shell didn't break into tiny pieces either! Overall, I would come back here again to try out the other cannoli and bomboloni flavors. Had we not had lunch upstairs, we would've probably stayed down here for a while, lol!

To be honest, I've never had a cannoli in my life until today, and if all cannolis tasted like this, the. I've definitely been missing out! In the past cannolis just appeared too sweet since there's so much thick creamy filling. I always had the impression that it would be sweetness overload and there was no way I would ever finish one. I decided to give it a try for the first time, and wow! It's not too sweet at all! It was perfect! Also the outside cannoli gives it a very nice crunch to every bite! Pleasantly surprised, and I ate it all! I mean, one cannoli in a sitting is plenty enough, and I couldn't come here everyday, but I would definitely come back!

    Not packaged super well

We came on Memorial Day around 3pm, and we waited in a decent line. It was fast-moving, and thankfully, we managed to get a table in the indoor seating area right away. To-go was not an option because we'd ordered the signature mango sticky rice shaved ice, which is HEFTY. It's like eating a dessert meal in terms of serving size, but it's light and fresh enough to follow a Thai food lunch from one of the nearby restaurants (which is what we did). The mango sticky rice shaved ice was delicious. If you like either mango sticky rice or Taiwanese mango shaved ice (or Korean bingsoo), you will love this. It's served with condensed milk, sticky rice, and additional mango on the side to add on as you eat. It's definitely enough for at least 2-3 people to share. We also had a couple orders of gelato, which surpassed our expectations. One of us, who spent 4 months in Italy, said it was some of the best gelato she'd ever had. Standout flavors included jasmine matcha and Earl Grey Thai tea. Do yourself a favor and stop by! We got pretty lucky with parking because all the nearby meters were free for Memorial Day, and I can imagine parking might be difficult at night. But this dessert is well worth a parking hassle!

These trompe-l'œil pastries--French desserts designed to "deceive the eye" by looking like real fruit--are as impressive as they are delicious. Light, fresh, and perfectly balanced, with just the right touch of sweetness. We also had their matcha drink, which was just as good. A bit pricey, but worth the indulgence.

Hands down worth the drive, it's the best dessert option they have. Creamy balanced flavors, well layered, and with a texture that is irresistibly fun to eat. I love the heart container. We bought almost all of every piece dessert except for two along with the ice cream bites. Needless to say, we were not impressed. Each pastry had the same lingering aftertaste which was odd, the fresh strawberry topping was old, the gelatin like texture did not complement the watery centers, and the outside chocolate shell had no flavor. Of course, if you like these details of texture, you may dig it! Just definitely not for me. The ice cream bites resemble a frozen yogurt like texture and although I appreciate the all natural fruit product, the flavors didn't quite come through. The space inside is small, clean, and cozy. We weren't really warmly welcomed but did receive a kind goodbye after we picked up our order and had tipped generously. The Togo boxes could use improvement as they were so flimsy and hard to store in the fridge. The carry out bag is SO nice though. We're happy to have supported the business but will not drive out there again. Try your luck, it is fun to explore!
