Went for dinner tonight with a group of 6. Portions are small and pricey. We all ordered pastas but the flavors fell pretty flat. I'll give Canto points for the freshness of the clams in the vongole but the overall flavors were rather bland. One of my friends even described the white wine sauce as tasting more like "pasta water". The highlights of the meal were the complimentary bread and frozen espresso martinis. I would recommend going just for the happy hour drinks.

Extremely disappointing experience at Canto. Their website clearly states they open at 3 PM on Thursdays, and we even had a confirmed reservation for 3:15 PM. When we arrived on time, we were abruptly told to leave because they "weren't open yet" and that no bartender or server would be available until at least 3:30. It felt excessive to turn away guests with a confirmed reservation over a 15-minute discrepancy. We returned at 4 PM and explained the situation to the hostess, who dismissively responded, "the website isn't right," with no apology, accountability, or attempt to remedy the situation. Mistakes happen, but the lack of professionalism and customer service was far more frustrating than the scheduling error itself. If your hours have changed, update your website and reservation platform instead of making customers feel like they did something wrong. What makes this more disappointing is that I've actually been here before and recommended the restaurant specifically because their frozen espresso martinis are excellent. That previous positive experience is the only reason this review isn't lower. That said, service during this visit continued to miss the mark. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived before dinner service, yet we felt like we were inconveniencing the bartender every time we ordered another drink. We also ordered the bruschetta appetizer, which took over an hour to come out despite us being among the only customers there. The food and drinks may be good, but service and accountability matter just as much. Updating reservation systems and treating customers with basic courtesy would go a long way.

Came for a girls' brunch on a Sunday. It was incredibly busy for 1pm but had reservations so got seats easily (highly recommend having a resy). The food was solid and the drinks were amazing for a Sunday girls' brunch! Teo was an awesome server!

I went to Canto for dinner on a Friday night. I would recommend making a reservation since the place is packed. I was actually impressed by how much seating they managed to fit into the space. They really optimized every inch. I tried their famous frozen espresso martini and loved it. It's almost like a tiramisu martini because they top it with mascarpone. They have a good happy hour deal, but unfortunately we weren't able to make it in time for it. For dinner, we ordered an arancini, carbonara, and a risotto from their specials. They drop off complimentary warm bread with a red sauce for dipping. Next time I'll probably skip ordering an appetizer since the bread is so good. The pastas aren't the best in the city, but they were solid. Overall, I had a fun time. Loved the frozen espresso martini. Would go again.

Such a cute classy spot and I'm so glad to have experienced it. First off, anyone going needs to get a frozen espresso martini. Those things are dangerous but so good. I was gagged at the edible straw as well! I got two and could've gotten so many more. The restaurant itself is packed shoulder to shoulder with seating but that just made the meal feel a lot more intimate. I got the seafood pappardelle and it was so good. The noodles were so soft and chewy which is how I like them and the sauce was so flavorful. Definitely a spot I will be returning to in the future.

Food was yummy, frozen espresso martinis were worth the visit alone! Tiramisu was delicious and we enjoyed the arancini. However, service was lacking. We felt rushed the entire evening, our server urged us to put in our entire order immediately, forgot our wine, tried to offer us the check before dessert, and our table wasn't ready at our time of reservation. He wasn't friendly or helpful with the menu and the host seemed frazzled. There isn't a spot to stand and wait for your table to be ready and the host would just walk back and forth from his place at the back and people are forced to wait outside. It is VERY tight quarters inside which was cute & cozy but quite loud. There are more bar seats available than tables and they were seating people with reservations at the bar. The couple after us asked to move once a different spot opened up! Over all, fun date night but I would try somewhere else next time. Or just go early for an espresso martini!

The food and drinks were great! Frozen espresso martini is popular for a reason, so good. Also loved my pasta, big portions and good amounts of sauce/cheese which I loved. The space is nicely decorated though a bit small. Was a bit busy so kinda felt like the servers forgot about us a bit unless we waved them down!

Go for the drinks especially the frozen espresso martini at HH - $12 bucks! They are pretty damn good. In fact, the happy hour drinks are all priced well. Also, well fleet oysters were $1.50 - so load up. We split two pastas- bolognese and linguine with clams. Both were ok. Nothing to rave about, but decent. The place is cozy and perfect for a date. Will go back for the vibes and a drink.

Had an amazing dinner at Canto last weekend! Made the reservation 4 days in advance, even was running late from work and they still held our table! We sat in a little counter in the front window and had a great time in our cozy nook, people watching and enjoying the privacy! The food was amazing, I LOVE arancini and this did not disappoint. The servers offered amazing recommendations as well! recommend this place for a fun fancy date night!

Bucatini Alla Carbonara & Chicken Sandwich

Sunday brunch offered an array of options. The pasta was rich, creamy and flavorful. The sandwich was massive and very fresh. Best of all the eggs were all cooked perfectly! The space itself, and seating was tight, close quarters, but the restaurant was very tidy and tastefully decorated.

Came here for happy hour and I'm happy I did! We specifically came for their famous frozen espresso martinis & I see why they're famous. They're like dessert in a glass but make it grown and glamorous. The frozen espresso martini was smooth, sweet, and perfectly chilled. A creamy coffee cloud with just enough kick to wake your soul. I could've had a third :) Canto is such a vibe, it's small but local and cozy

I will rave about this carbonara forever - it was to die for. I am an avid carbonara lover, order it at almost every Italian restaurant I have been to and this is by far a top 3 entree for me. It was so creamy and the pancetta was so crispy. I also got a dirty martini that I enjoyed. My only complaint is we had a 7:30pm reservation and we did not get seated until almost 8.

I am SO glad we did. The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

Thank you to my lovely friend who spent who knows how long trying to get a reservation here. Chilled celtuce (4/5): is it a combination of celery and lettuce? idk but it kinda reminded me of radish, with a clean/slightly bland flavor but it had this hydrating quality to it and a nice crunch. Sesame shao bing (5/5): a literal drug in the most innocuous and tasty form of flatbread. It has the crispiest flake on the outside with a perfectly chewy doughiness to it and a literal slab of butter inside, which melts in real time (careful not to go too ham and let it dribble down your arms and get all over your clothes...because it's just THAT good). Sweet & sour short rib (4/5): the cook on these short ribs were super tender, I just think the marinade was very strong, with a particularly vinegary aroma. Eight treasure rice pudding with sticky toffee (4/5): she's a 4 only because I don't like toffee, but the rice pudding was hands down heavenly. Service was solid, and they have a chic, dim ambience for the tables inside whereas the outdoor seating sits underneath the lanterns and soaks up the streets of Chinatown, so each have a merit of its own.

They also have shared tables, so we sat with another couple. Huge wine selection. Everything we ate was delicious. To me, the Celtuce is more of a novelty - cool, yummy, fresh but small. The crudo was the same thing. So in my opinion, I don't think it's worth the money. The noodles were so good we got 2 orders of it - you cannot skip!! The dessert was also unlike anything I've had before. If you love sticky rice and caramel/toffee, you have to try it. Overall, I do think it was very expensive but the ambiance + some of the dishes were well worth it. I'd definitely come back.

It had a unique flavor that reminded me of a mix between soondubu and dwenjang chigae which worked well. Unfortunately, the rest was a miss. The bossam was overly salty and didn't feel true to the dish. The tteokbokki was another disappointment -it came with cheese (which wasn't expected) and just fell flat overall. For the hype, I expected much more especially because I've eaten Korean food my whole life. The venue is small and the seats in the back are uncomfortable.
