I came here about a month ago. It was a 6pm dinner on a Wednesday, in an attempt to pick a cute and tasty spot to bring my cousin to, who just moved to New York. I had come here years ago for a brunch and had a great experience. Now, not so much. It's a tight space (think Greenwich village....anything) and since I've been here last, they've converted their bar to a dual sided eating counter. I get it - maximize your space and get your coins. But when you're busy and the hostess is horrible, it's just chaotic. Hostess: she is not friendly, straddling rude, and didn't provide any detail, or clarity when asking about reservation. I was early and my party hadn't arrived yet but by 6pm, I had to ask her for an update and was essentially told my table isn't ready yet. Would've been helpful to know that up front or when she was aware of their delay. She would rather have the parties waiting to be sat stand by the entry and block the serving staff than seat nearly full parties. Poor planning and poor customer service. When I mentioned the parties blocking the door, her response was outside was an option (it's raining). C O O L. Then there's the delicate matter of asking parties, who have paid, the table was needed. I overheard her tell two parties they have to leave. And not gently. I also witnessed a party of 3, with a reservation, be told to squeeze into a 2-top counter space instead of a table for 3. Whet. There was a back and forth with the group and the hostess until one of the ladies told her they were leaving. Horrible. When my party finally arrives, we're sat at the bar. Service was great - Devon was lovely. Bartender was lovely. Eventually we paid and she came to rush us out too. If the owner cares about their business, they would send her to some intensive training or find someone who understands hospitality. Super disappointing. read more

i really do love the food and drinks here but the service is horrible. i've gone to this location 4 times since living here and every single time i have a reservation and every single time they seat me 45 minutes after my reservation time, even if i come early. this past time was the worst and made me question why i keep coming back. my friends and i had a reservation at 5pm, we showed up at 4:50pm and there were multiple open seats and tables. when it hit 5p, the server sat a group that came after us and had a reservation for 5:30p. definitely decided the food is not worth the terrible service and rude staff read more

We started with some espresso martinis, which were part of the happy hour deal, and were only $12! Unbeatable deal! We shared the burrata, the pesto pasta, and the bolognese. Dishes were flavorful, especially the pasta entrees (favorite was lobster ravioli) and the night's special (risotto with duck leg); the small plates were good but fairly standard (Caesar salad and fried artichokes). The space is cozy, welcoming, but also very small and tables are very close and cramped; one of our party was seated up against a pillar and had very little room, and adjoining tables were also squeezed into tight spaces. Really didn't enjoy my experience here to be honest. The food and drinks were okay--not amazing but decent for the price. Pasta was a bit overcooked, kale salad was pretty mid, but the sauces were good, and I liked the bread and dip (though it came quite late). We had a reservation, but they didn't have a table for us. We got seated at a bar (and maybe half the seating in the place seemed like bars), very cramped in and next to the single bathroom. People in line were back to back with us and kept touching us. We expressed our displeasure to the host from the get go, who said he would find us a place to move to as soon as one freed up, but we watched him give tables and bar seats away to other people the whole time we were there, and the one time I managed to get his attention again he brushed us off. There were two birthdays happening, and the noise level was ridiculous. They already played loud music, but when they brought out dessert for the birthday tables, they would double the volume on the speakers and play a really irritating song. It was almost impossible for my wife and I to hear each other the whole night, so we mostly sat in silence. The experience was also very rushed. We only got two courses, but each came before the last was finished, and there was no room for the plates. We were in and out of there within 50 minutes, of which a lot of the time was spent waiting for the first course of food. It would've bothered us more if we weren't already eager to get out. The prices were low by west village Italian food standards, but high enough that I left feeling extremely ripped off. This is one of the few dining experiences I've had in NY where I really wished I had nope'd the heck out of there the moment we were shown our table and gotten some pizza instead. Truly, do not go here for a date. The ambiance is like being at an NYU student bar, the service is terrible, and they'll get you out of there as quickly as they can. The famous frozen espresso martinis are delicious, but unfortunately we had a bad experience here otherwise. We had a reservation but there was still a long wait for our table. After another long wait to take our orders, our food also took incredibly long to come out, and one person at my table never got her food at all! The rest of us were finished, so she just had it cancelled. Most importantly, we never received updates from the staff; nobody was checking in on us to let us know the food was coming, etc. so it seemed like our dishes were simply forgotten until we finally asked about it. The food we did receive was good (burger, carbonara), but unfortunately I will not be coming back. Figured I'd stay for an appetizer but seeing everyone's food around me, I decided to stick around for dinner. Has the Polpette (meatball) appetizer which was delicious. We ordered two frozen espresso martinis and truffle fries. Appearance-wise, the espresso martinis lived up to my expectations and looked so good. I loved the frozen aspect and they tasted even better when melted. The "espresso beans" on top were actually chocolate, which was so cute. In terms of the drink itself, I feel that there was slightly too much vodka, but regardless, it was still delicious!
