Went for dinner tonight with a group of 6. Portions are small and pricey. We all ordered pastas but the flavors fell pretty flat. I'll give Canto points for the freshness of the clams in the vongole but the overall flavors were rather bland. One of my friends even described the white wine sauce as tasting more like "pasta water". The highlights of the meal were the complimentary bread and frozen espresso martinis. I would recommend going just for the happy hour drinks.

Extremely disappointing experience at Canto. Their website clearly states they open at 3 PM on Thursdays, and we even had a confirmed reservation for 3:15 PM. When we arrived on time, we were abruptly told to leave because they "weren't open yet" and that no bartender or server would be available until at least 3:30. It felt excessive to turn away guests with a confirmed reservation over a 15-minute discrepancy. We returned at 4 PM and explained the situation to the hostess, who dismissively responded, "the website isn't right," with no apology, accountability, or attempt to remedy the situation. Mistakes happen, but the lack of professionalism and customer service was far more frustrating than the scheduling error itself. If your hours have changed, update your website and reservation platform instead of making customers feel like they did something wrong. What makes this more disappointing is that I've actually been here before and recommended the restaurant specifically because their frozen espresso martinis are excellent. That previous positive experience is the only reason this review isn't lower. That said, service during this visit continued to miss the mark. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived before dinner service, yet we felt like we were inconveniencing the bartender every time we ordered another drink. We also ordered the bruschetta appetizer, which took over an hour to come out despite us being among the only customers there. The food and drinks may be good, but service and accountability matter just as much. Updating reservation systems and treating customers with basic courtesy would go a long way.

yes the frozen espresso martini is 100% worth the hype. also the straw is edible holy crap. complimentary bread too #ThankGod truffle gnocchi was good and you can rlly taste the truffle but i didn't like the way the cheese was torched on top it was kinda hard. dont get the ricotta cheesecake it wasn't good. service was good. very small restaurant make sure to make a reservation.

My friend and I had such a lovely dinner at Canto. Our experience with Naz was so fantastic, that I felt compelled to write this review. He made our dining experience a delight and was attentive throughout. My friend even complimented his eyelashes and he took a moment to share his regimen with us. The food was great too - the carbonara and tagliatelle were both delicious. We will absolutely be back!

Came here during the HH and was so blown away by how attentive the service was. We never had to flag a waiter down or wait for the bill. The cocktails were great and i would 100% go again

Frozen espresso martini is INCREDIBLE. It's quite small but so so delicious. The vibe was great on a Sunday evening, no reservation, sat at the bar, & everything looked delicious.

I went to Canto for dinner on a Friday night. I would recommend making a reservation since the place is packed. I was actually impressed by how much seating they managed to fit into the space. They really optimized every inch. I tried their famous frozen espresso martini and loved it. It's almost like a tiramisu martini because they top it with mascarpone. They have a good happy hour deal, but unfortunately we weren't able to make it in time for it. For dinner, we ordered an arancini, carbonara, and a risotto from their specials. They drop off complimentary warm bread with a red sauce for dipping. Next time I'll probably skip ordering an appetizer since the bread is so good. The pastas aren't the best in the city, but they were solid. Overall, I had a fun time. Loved the frozen espresso martini. Would go again.

Frozen espresso martinis were soooo good, tasted like tiramisu and edible straw! Our server Naz was so kind also. Definitely recommend for girls night or date night :)

Go for the drinks especially the frozen espresso martini at HH - $12 bucks! They are pretty damn good. In fact, the happy hour drinks are all priced well. Also, well fleet oysters were $1.50 - so load up. We split two pastas- bolognese and linguine with clams. Both were ok. Nothing to rave about, but decent. The place is cozy and perfect for a date. Will go back for the vibes and a drink.

Such a cute classy spot and I'm so glad to have experienced it. First off, anyone going needs to get a frozen espresso martini. Those things are dangerous but so good. I was gagged at the edible straw as well! I got two and could've gotten so many more. The restaurant itself is packed shoulder to shoulder with seating but that just made the meal feel a lot more intimate. I got the seafood pappardelle and it was so good. The noodles were so soft and chewy which is how I like them and the sauce was so flavorful. Definitely a spot I will be returning to in the future.

Had an amazing dinner at Canto last weekend! Made the reservation 4 days in advance, even was running late from work and they still held our table! We sat in a little counter in the front window and had a great time in our cozy nook, people watching and enjoying the privacy! The food was amazing, I LOVE arancini and this did not disappoint. The servers offered amazing recommendations as well! recommend this place for a fun fancy date night!

The food and drinks were great! Frozen espresso martini is popular for a reason, so good. Also loved my pasta, big portions and good amounts of sauce/cheese which I loved. The space is nicely decorated though a bit small. Was a bit busy so kinda felt like the servers forgot about us a bit unless we waved them down!

We went to Canto for lunch and had such a great experience. Isaac was our waiter and very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. He helped us decide what to order. The menu has great options for if you want a more traditional lunch like waffles, french toast and there's also lighter options like shashuka, Mediterranean breakfast etc. We decided on frozen espresso martinis which are a must!!! We also got oysters, salad, waffles and truffle fries. Everything was delicious. Our time carried on to happy hour so our second round of martinis were discounted. Overall great experience and I can't wait to return to explore more of the menu. Thanks Isaac!!

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

Appreciate the quality service and the intriguing menu; the food does come pricey, but there are some interesting innovation to make it a worthwhile one time experience. Celtuce - Impressive dish that transforms simple ingredients into a show stopper; the celtuce is tender and performs great osmosis to absorb that addictive vinaigarette. The crisp onion adds a delightful depth and texture. Cheung Fun - The cheung fun technique needs to be improved as the rice crepe is too thick, especially when the competition is at at all time high just within blocks. The command on textures is very nice with the crisp vegetable filling and saline burst of roe. However, the salinity of roe plus the soy needs sweetness to balance the saline forward dish. Beef Short Rib - Addictively sumptuous short rib in a fruit candied sweet and savory glaze. The beef falls off the bone with ease and goes together with their rice so harmoniously.
