I don't recommend this business. I was taking advantage of- went to get a sticker for my low mileage car in the middle of inspecting it, was told that the DLC connector to connect to their computer was pushed up. They asked me if anyone has been in my car and I told them no. I got my sticker there last year-THEY were the last ones besides myself to be in my car. When the mechanic told me it would cost $20-$40 to push down the connector, I stated that I would bring it to another mechanic - he responded that he was in the middle of inspecting my car and muttered something. He put me in a position where I would have to pay him because I needed the sticker. He asked me if I had a lot of time to spare. About 5-10 minutes later which is not a long time, I received my sticker. A mechanic either pushed this connector out of place last year or today. I spoke with a few people including someone in the car business and they couldn't believe they charged me $20 to take off two screws and push the connector back down-a few minute job. They said most places wouldn't have charged anything. I don't know if it was because I was a female or they take advantage of others as well Shame on him and poor business practice. When I read reviews I would rather see no reviews because good reviews could have been written by friends of the business and negative reviews could be a red flag. read more

I brought my car here following a minor motor vehicle accident (lethal combination of an elderly driver in a giant SUV taking a left hand turn across 4 lanes of traffic on Rte 53 during rush hour, hitting my car..and angrily telling me I had a duty to stop?!?!). He has also serviced my car in the past for routine, manufacturer recommended maintenance. He helped me out by loaning me a lender care for 2 weeks as he made the repairs since I didn't have rental insurance under my policy coverage which I was so grateful for (cost of car rentals during the summer average $150/day!). He made the repairs and did EXTRA work and didn't even charge me... wouldn't even take payment from me! He painted the front hood (had minor scratches from age-related wear and tear), vacuumed the floors of the front seats, washed my car, threw in a complimentary inspection sticker AND did an oil change. If you want a mechanic that is knowledgeable about cars and will show TLC toward your vehicle, I would recommend Canton Auto and the owner/ head mechanic Eli. I drive from the South Shore to this shop as he is the only mechanic I trust for his knowledge of cars, mechanic skills and honest business practices. read more

I always get my annual car inspection at Canton Auto Service. During my last inspection they noticed that my tires were starting to crack and needed to be replaced. They also recommended getting my wheel bearings replaced which was causing a rumbling noise when I drove. They also noticed that my car was leaking power steering fluid. At the time, I only got my tires replaced. Over the next couple of months the rumbling noise got worse and I decided to go back to Canton Auto Service to get the rest of the work done. Eli went out of his way to get the job done and their service was remarkable! I got the wheel bearings and power steering rack replaced and now my car is running more smoothly and a lot quieter. I sent my car for safety check, and they said it did not pass the exhaustion test. They replaced an airflow sensor. The total cost (part and labor) is nearly $600 dollars. When I came to pick up my car, the supposedly repaired car was dead on the parking lot--I cannot even lock my car with my remote control. The car wouldn't even start. I had to leave the car and went home. I will see what they will do tomorrow. I cannot believe how ridiculous this is! read more

This place is awesome! The gentlemen here are incredibly friendly and very customer friendly. They are sure to explain what is going on and aren't fearful to tell you exactly what they are doing. They also take you right to the worksite so you can see their hard work upfront. I also had tar on my car that no other detailing shop seemed to be able to fix but they were able to fix in a cinch. They go above and beyond. When i thought the mechanic industry was one i couldn't trust, i may have to reevaluate my thinking because i highly recommend this place. Ok, so I have been going to Sammy since I was 16 years old when he was running the gas station in Braintree. He is not your run of the mill mechanic, I wouldn't even call him a mechanic. He is a true technician. Everytime I bring my truck down he knows with in a day what is wrong and exactly how to fix it. He diagnoses squeaks, noises, grinding , whatever sounds out of place Sam can figure it out. I am a bit OCD with my truck and even though it's 10+ years old ,since bringing it to Sam it runs like a gem. He is extremely thorough and gets the job done. As far as the place it's a hilarious atmosphere the guys are always cracking jokes at each other , they'll even take u under your car and show you whats causing problems , what will eventually cause problems and set up times to diagnose each individually. These guys are doing it right, they are so busy sometimes it's get a little hectic, but let me tell you it's worth it. I have read all the reviews on here and the only negative review had nothing to do with actual mechanic work and ability! This past year they have added auto detailing and can completely understand getting that off and running can be be a little tricky, but I I have no doubt in my mind they'll figure it out! I had my car serviced in the shop, and found the quality of the work is bad. The rear bumper is replaced, but after several weeks, I noticed the paint started dropping, and the material seems very low-ended. The service man is not honest in my opinion, and they charged additional fees. I will never visit this shop again. read more

Great customer service! I was referred to Canton Auto Service and glad I was. I brought my truck in because I had discovered rust above my windshield running the width of the vehicle. Eli took a look and it was pretty serious. He assured me I was good hands and that it would come out great. He kept me appraised of the progress every step of the way with photos and texts. And my truck came out great...you wouldn't even know there was ever an issue and it looks good as new. I can't recommend them enough. I am very new in the US, this is my first review for a business. 4 years ago, I got a Mercedes from a mechanic who told me that he fixed and changed my breaks and a lot of other electronic issues, overall I was told that a lot of needed work was done on my car, and it all ended up costing about $4,000, I didn't know that he was lying to me and took an advantage of me due to my lack of English, finally i paid and picked up my car and on the way home it was a rainy Saturday evening, I felt my car not working the way it should, and I was panicking and crying because I was just told that everything has gotten fixed, I saw a sign for Canton Auto Service and decided to get my car checked out there, when I got there it was when the shop was closing, I explained what happened to me that day to one of the workers there, he was very friendly to me and made me calm down, they even let me leave my car there and they gave me a ride home so they could fix my car ASAP, on Monday Eli aka the owner called me and told me the other mechanic I had completely messed my car up to the point where it was never the same, Eli said he had to fix a few important parts of the car, I told him honestly I had not even a dime to spend on the car since I paid so much to get the car fixed before, when he heard about what happened he did not even ask of me to pay for fixing the car at the moment, he said I could have as long as I needed to pay him, I couldn't even believe what I was hearing, he even lend me a car so I could get to work. Long story short, this family business made me feel like home, now they are not only my mechanic they are my very kind and lovely friends, I very highly recommend Canton Auto Service to everyone, and I can assure you unlike many other mechanics they will never lie to you about anything regarding your car. read more
