No sense of urgency, only 2 tables bussed in the time I was there. Ambiance is meh. Food was standard. I got sesame chicken, decent, crispy, but no heat. Not sure what happened to this place. We used to love it. We were sat for 25 minutes before we even got soup or salad, however by the time they did bring it out, the chef was already cooking our food. I think the only reason we got soup and salad was because I asked for it. The lady was yelling at us to grab our bowls and very rude. The timing of cooking the meat was way off and raw meat spatulas were touching cooked food as it was being placed on our plates. When raw seafood was placed down with a spatula and then he went directly to my tenderloin to put it on my plate, I was done. I was unable to even eat my food, I was so disgusted. Our neighbors didn't get their appetizers and so much food was forgotten. We will never be back. We used to really love this place, it's been a favorite of my kiddos for years. No more. read more

We've had the hibachi dinner here a couple times and really enjoyed it. I'd actually recommend the hibachi, but their takeout was so bad it completely ruined this restaurant for us. The takeout was some of the lowest quality, least flavorful asian food I've ever had. The chicken texture and preparation was not good by either authentic or Americanized standards. The rice, especially the brown rice, was dried out and undercooked. The noodles were soggy any stuck together. There was really no flavor to the dishes either. The portions were large but most of our food went uneaten since it was so unappetizing. Again, the hibachi was great and that's what most of the positive reviews are based on. The food at Canton Palace is seriously some of the best Asian cuisine I've had. Now that I no longer live in Colorado (and can't order my favorites), I miss this place. Not only is the food delicious, but the atmosphere is very refined yet comfortable. I would be happy to take both a date and entertain my parents here. It's nice going to places where the overall dining experience is a significant consideration in addition to the menu. I've tried items from both the Chinese and the Japanese Hibachi menus. I highly recommend the walnut prawns--perfectly cooked tender little morsels in a slightly tangy, sweet sauce. The crispy flank steak is also one of my favorites. The tasty marinated pieces are crunchy on the outside and juicy inside without being heavy or greasy. The Hibachi style service is always entertaining. I love the seared lobster and scallops--very fresh and perfectly tender. If you are looking for a consistently enjoyable dining experience with outstanding menus, you need to give this place a try. Overall not extremely impressed. I wouldn't avoid altogether but also won't make it my go to place either. My lunch consisted of hot and sour soup and pepper steak. The hot and sour soup was a little runnier than I like. I like the consistency more along the lines of PF Changs which is thicker. My pepper steak was very oily. We've been here many times in the past, but it's been a while so we thought we go again. Service was poor and the food was worse. The sweet and sour shrimp said lightly breaded. It was all breading and the shrimp were hard to find. The flavor was also bland. The general Taos chicken was not very good either. It is what I always ordered in the past and it used to be very good. The waitress wasn't very friendly and after our food was delivered she put it on the table out of our reach. Then she disappeared for a while. I waited 10+ minutes for her to return so I could get a refill on my soda. The restaurant was basically empty, only one other table occupied. Ordered a take out order and the order was accepted. Fifty-one minutes after order accepted, received a text message that they cancelled my order. No reason given. Told to wait up to 7-10 days for refund. So much for wanting to try them again. ----------- Ordered a very large to go order. Was asked by the order taker what to put on each food item container and gave them instructions at their request. Order was seven bags of food and when we arrived at the event, nothing was labeled. This was a huge problem, as items were going to different places. By the time we sorted everything out people did not get what they wanted and there were several unhappy people. No matter how mediocre or good the food is, asking for instructions and then doing nothing is totally unacceptable. If you decide to eat here, we recommend that you eat in. To go orders are far not worth the hassle. Some of the food was cold by the time we sorted it out. Overall, The majority of our party was disappointed. read more

I went to dine for an early Christmas meal at Canton Palace Sunday night 12/23/18. With friends. An employees 2 children, were permitted to loudly run around and play in the restaurant while people were trying to enjoy their meals , this went on for 45 minutes. One of my friends went into the men's restroom, and found this restroom to be very disgusting , there was toilet paper piled in the bowls and feces on the seats of the toilets. He did report the filth of the bathroom to an employee and told them they needed to fix it now. I will no longer come to eat at this establishment, it was more like being at a Chuck E. Cheese , instead of a nice Chinese/Japanese dining restaurant. read more

The decor and atmosphere is exquisite, the wait staff is attentive, food presentation is first class, and the food is fabulous for this price range. I eat here often and wrongly recommend it for lunch or dinner. A great place for family gatherings or a business lunch. The atmosphere is lively at times but quiet enough for great conversation. The best place in Loveland to get less-Americanized Chinese food. I still prefer to get my fix of fried, sauced mystery meat at Main Moon, but the flavors are a bit more authentic here. You still get a very Americanized take on things, but it's less than other places. I'm not sure if you can get jellyfish, chicken feet, and whole fried fish here, but if you can I would give it five stars. Canton gets my pick for best Chinese in Loveland. Everything has been great and the portions are big enough to take home and eat the next day. Their teriyaki chicken is my favorite and I have never liked any teriyaki I have had anywhere else. I have tried their LoMein, as well as their sesame chicken, cashew chicken, sesame tofu, and mugugai pan. They all were exceptional. I go here enough the owner knows me by name and always personally thanks me for being a patron. The firecracker shrimp was very good. It has a nice pepper bite to it. Rice options are steamed, fried and brown. I had the brown rice and it was cooked properly. The Executive Dinner includes a spring roll, krab Rangoon and soup. I has the hot and sour soup which was a bit mild but very tasty. I am saving my eggroll, simply because it was huge!! The food was ok but their service is terrible. We order the beef stew, but they end up giving us beef offal stew without any explanation. When we asked them why is this different from the menu, the waiter was like "oh our kitchen ran out of some food..." Later on the waiter added 18% gratuity by himself to the bill. I've driven past the place literally hundreds of times. The unassuming brick just never quite motivated me to pull in. But I was fed up with the quality and attitude in the few other Chinese restaurants in Loveland, so I decided to give it a shot. Now I wish I'd done so a LONG time ago! As the sarcastic Asian reviewer said, the area to the Right is Osaka (Japanese), the area to the left is Canton (Chinese.) I took the door on the left. The servers were attentive without being overbearing. The owner, a delightful middle-aged Asian woman, came over to help me decide on the menu. She didn't seem to mind in the least bit, nor was she "selling" anything. As the evening continued, I found myself more and more favorably impressed by her and the rest of the staff... but I'm getting ahead of the story now. It's hard to decide with so many delicious choices. Finally, the waiter pointed out the Specials menu card on the table top. There it was, my choice! Malaysia Chicken & Beef in Curry Basil. Have you ever wanted to lick the plate because the sauce was SO good? I had two full plate portions. There was still enough left (took it home, traditional Chinese take-out box, no metal so it's microwave-safe) and had it over fresh rice the next evening. That was hard to do. Why? The aroma was SO tempting... I almost had it as a late-night snack. THen again, almost for breakfast, and lunch... but I was saving it for when I had time to make some Jasmine rice to go with it. I'd have had dessert, but I had no idea where I could possibly have put it -- and I'm a big eater! Suffice it to say, the food was delicious. Other diners' food was equally attractive and apparently as tasty, from the reactions of the other customers. On the way out, the lovely hostess (her name is hard for this non-Asian tongue) thanked me warmly and sincerely for coming. Will I be back? Probably at least two or three times a week. Having lived (and eaten) all over the planet, if this is what Whitey Chinese is like, I'm perfectly okay with that. read more

If you're in Loveland and have a hankerin' for some Chinese, there's really no better place to go. Every time I've eaten here, the owner comes by and asks how everything is and if there's anything else he can do for us. If you're not happy with something you've got, just let them know and they will quickly correct what ever the problem is. Substitutions and add-on's aren't a problem at all. There is a regular dining side and a hibachi side to this restaurant, my friend and I visited the hibachi side. It was amazing food, the scallops were so tender and there was a huge variety of combinations you could get cooked right in front of you. The staff was personable, even if there was a major language barrier that made ordering a bit difficult. I recommend getting the volcano drink because it was absolutely delicious and a great deal for the price. Definitely will be going back. read more

I placed an order online and had it scheduled to be ready at 4:35 PM. I arrived at the restaurant at 4:45 PM and they told me it would be just a couple more minutes. Meh. We've eaten here twice now- the first time I got the wor wanton soup, hubs got sweet & sour chicken, and son got combo fried rice. The sweet and sour chicken and fried rice were mediocre at best, but I thought the soup was pretty good, which is what we went back for the second time. The second time was a cold day and I worvwahton soup just sounded like it would hit the spot. We added on sesame chicken just to try out one of their "specialities". We noticed the tell tale signs of MSG the first time around as well, but this second time around I became so swollen and bloated after eating the soup that I couldn't even get my wedding ring to budge, let alone get it off, which usually slips on and off with no problems. All the other signs of MSG were there too. My husband kept stating how he felt hungry again after eating the chicken, which is what he noticed the first one too. The food is very good, however the customer service is quite messed up! We had a coupon from the Valpak App on my phone that was supposed to give us a discount, but instead we were met with a rude explanation from the owner that we were wrong about what the coupon was for. We weren't wrong, they just wrote it wrong! The waiter literally took my phone from me to the back room and the owner came out to argue with me. Here's a tip: never argue with a customer, and never take their phone away from their sight! It was literally a coupon for 20% off! Wow! Since then, I noticed they did fix the wording to reflect the argument I had with the owner. Wish they would be nicer, since their food is so good!
