I decided to try CV out because I had a coupon. What a disaster it was from the start! The lady taking calls didn't know what they served or how much it cost. I ordered their dinner meal and a side of rice. Then they wouldn't take our coupon! I couldn't believe it. Another reviewer said they always take their 10% off coupons but they absolutely would not take ours. Saying "the dinner meal didn't apply" (although the coupon had NO fine print about that). The man was literally yelling at my husband. Bad business from the start! I started with the soup and it was more like a glop of yellow jello. Just awful! The orange chicken was mostly bread, which is typical of most Asian restaurants. The sauce was decent. The chicken chow mien was mostly celery and a few tidbits of chicken and a bag of those cheap crunchy noodles. :( I hate those things, it screams "we're a cheap restaurant!" The fried rice was ok for me but my husband said he thought it tasted a little burnt. (I think I was just too hungry to notice). seriously, do not bother with this place! Try anywhere else but here. What a great place to pick up some great Chinese food! I was quite impressed. The foods were very top notch, the egg roll was humongous, and everything is made from scratch. I had the sesame chicken, and I feel right in love with the homemade recipe being used. The chicken had a perfect crunch, and everything was nice and piping hot when I received my food. The price for everything was incredibly low, and the whole meal filled me quite well. If you are looking for some great authentic Chinese cuisines, Canton Village is the place to go. A great place for that last minute dinner or that Chinese craving. Not only can you pick up a dinner box for less then $8 dollars with the 10% off, but you can have them deliver as well. The dinner and lunch box includes the main dish, soup (egg or hot and sour, roll (spring or egg), and rice (white or fried). While the dining area is small this doesn't bother me as I only ever sit there waiting for my take out. Like most of the restaurants in the area they close around 10pm except on the weekends. This is good solid take out and pick up Chinese food and I never feel the need to stray far simply to have good Chinese food. read more

We have been getting take out here for years, but that is probably ending. We got chicken fried rice, very bland and flavorless. The sweet and sour sauce looked wrong, more orange than red and not as thick as it used to be. It was very runny and tasted horrible. We just threw it away and used something else to dip with. There were many of the "chicken" for the sweet and sour chicken that had no "chicken" only breading. The chow mein was ok as were the vegetable spring rolls. Decided to try again after hearing it has changed owner. This is a small place, 2 tables for 4 , 2 tables for 2, and 5 window seats. Food is very good. Most of the business is take out as we were the only ones eating at 730 on Friday evening. The service was good too. I used to come here whenever I wanted quality and cheap chinese but the last 3 or so times its been a major dissapointment, which is why I haven't been here for a while. My last experience was the nail in the coffin. I ordered General Tso and mostly got breading, I found it extremely hard to find a piece of Chicken which is absurd.. Imagine eating a ball of dough thinking it's chicken.. texturely-wise it was very unpleasant, actually it was outright disguting! Basically $35 down the drain... How are these people even in business? Taking people's money and serving that garbage they call Chinese food. Never again... They were lucky I didn't report them to the BBB, lol... This is an amazing Chinese restaurant. Great service and the food is great. Honestly, if you are thinking about going somewhere to get good Chinese food, then eat from here, it exceeded our expectations. I ordered the cashew shrimp and it is 90% vegetables with 4 shrimp. How can you call a dish "Cashew Shrimp" and have it be 90% of something that isn't even in the name. We eat here probably at least a couple times a month. Always take out or delivery. The prices are especially good if you do a meal and pick it up for the additional 10% off. I really do love this place but I know it's more greasy chinese. The egg rolls are usually a little doughy and the egg drop soup has almost no flavor. That being said I usually love everything we order. The moo Shu pork and the sesame chicken are amazing. Beef with broccoli, lo mein and egg foo young are staples in our orders. ****Update. All of that was true until about a year ago. I don't know if management changed but the people I normally see I don't any more and the customer service and food quality have become terrible! Anything fried is now a grease bomb, we would get egg rolls and shrimp and it was dripping with grease. The flavors changed too. Things are burnt or flavorless. We have ordered here for years. When they switched owners the egg rolls went from fantastic to bad but everything else seemed okay. However the last three times we ordered it has has gotten progressively worse (we kept trying hoping it was a fluke). I ordered delivery from here since it was free and the other places charged at least a $3 delivery fee. Unfortunately, this was amongst the top 3 worst Chinese meals I've ever had. I ordered the general Tso's chicken and sesame chicken. Both were about $10 each. The general Tso's wasn't spicy like I'm used to, instead it was super sweet, coated in way too much sauce and breading, then deep fried much too long to the point where it was chewy. The quality of the ingredients was terribly unhealthy and caused some serious bathroom issues the next day. So bad in fact that I just gave the leftovers away to a buddy later that day. I rarely throw away food but our meals were absolutely inedible. We got carry out on Sunday 2/22/15 and it was terrible. The soup was tolerable but when we opened up our entrees it was clear we made a mistake. I had ordered sweet and sour chicken. Almost half of it was actually burned and the egg roll looked off, like it had been battered or was soggy so I broke it open to see a gray gooey mess (which I immediately threw out). My husband ordered the general tsaos chicken and he said it was bland and tasted oily and he couldn't tell what he was eating. My wife and I recently moved to Murray and have been looking for a good Chinese take-out place. We decided to give Canton Village a try. They told us the order would take about 45 minutes but it was delivered in 30, so far so good. My wife ordered lemon chicken and I got Sezchuan beef. We also ordered spring rolls and egg rolls. Everything that was fried (egg rolls, spring rolls, and chicken) tasted as if the oil had not been changed in some time. The sauce for the lemon chicken was just okay, not really any better or worse than any other we've had. The Sezchuan beef also left a lot to be desired. It was lacking in flavor and meat had a gray tint to it. Aside from the taste of old fry oil, the egg rolls and spring rolls were extremely greasy. My wife and I took one bite each of the spring rolls and egg rolls and threw them out. The flavor was unpalatable. I can't describe the taste, it was just disgusting. Needless to say we're going to continue our search for a good Chinese restaurant in the Murray. I would rather go to Panda Express than to Canton Village. read more

Blech. I had the sesame beef; it was terrible. It tasted weird, I'm not really sure how to describe it. The egg drop soup was an unnatural shade of yellow and was incredibly salty. The fried rice was heavy on the salt factor, too. I tasted more onion than crab in the crab rangoons and I'm pretty sure the sweet and sour sauce stained my white sink pink. WOW I AM I BAD.... I should have read the reviews before I ordered. This restaurant is taking a head on dive to the basement on its ratings. Could be the dumb ass management that they have. I am literally 3 minutes from the restaurant and they could have offered to replace the cold order and could have had it here in less than 10 minutes. I asked to talk to an owner or manager, which request was ignored. Having been in the industry, I know you have to be responsive to your customers. With this restaurant recession we have been experiencing, I sure hope it will weed this dump out. I have eaten here before, and must say that you have to be very careful on what you order as most of their food is deep fried and dripping oil. If you know what to order to avoid the grease the food becomes marginal at best. Now the kicker, I live literally 3 minutes from the restaurant so on a busy night when we were working around the house I decided to order something quick from Canton Village. Time for delivery was stated 45 min to 1 hour. One hour 15 minutes later I was told the food was 5 minutes out. I don't know what clock they are on but the food did not arrive for another 15 minutes. The food was cold so I returned it. I have not been that happy with their food to begin with, but this is the final straw, I will never return to this mediocre less than timely restaurant. read more

We order from here often and it's almost always an hour wait for our food but we have never been disappointed until last night. They forgot our rice (which is like a main part of every dish) and when we called them they seemed put out and said it will be another hour to get that out to us (very disappointing). They did not offer us any kind of refund or even credit on our next order. They just didn't seem to care at all.
