The best dentist that I have ever been to. I tried another dentist about a mile down the street, and never went back.. for many reasons... but this place is WONDERFUL! The dentist is thorough.... explains everything.... from the xrays to actually "Drilling" in my teeth, to explaining what I needed done, to working within the confines of my insurance, to making a mold, to making a crown... always insuring that I was comfortable and knew what she was doing. I NEVER HURT during the entire 2 hour visit.. It was easy to make an appointment. Fees were all explained and processed according to what would be best for me. I was a patient here with Dr. Cox for a few years before Dr. Hameed took over. I was very happy with Dr. Cox and was initially concerned to continue with Dr. Hameed because I've got major dental trauma and anxiety. However, I have been so impressed after working with Dr. Hameed! I find her meticulous and careful in her examinations, assessments, and treatment. She is honest and won't cut corners or push for unnecessary work. She has done wonderful work on my problematic teeth and has patience when I ask a million questions. I started going to Dr. Cox years ago when I was told he would rather drive an old car and treat his patients properly rather than drive an expensive car and do work for patients that was not necessary. I find him to be the kindest, most caring, most competent dentist I have ever been to. All of my family is now going to him, even my grandchildren. My husband hated the dentist due to not being able to get numbed enough to have work done on his teeth without still feeling pain. Dr. Cox was the first dentist to offer him slight sedation. Dr. Cox and his staff are the best! It's so hard to find a good dentist and even harder to find an exceptional one! I had to get a crown done, he explained the process from the beginning to end thoroughly and is very conservative in his treatment planning. I did not feel a thing when he numbed me and I could be a big baby when it comes to dental work. I work Monday through Friday so it's hard for me to find a dentist that's open on a Saturday and he's open every other Saturday with appointments only which gives me no excuse to make my dental appointments. When all other dentistry closed during the holidays, Canyon Oaks came through for me. My first time there and the staff and dentist were great! My crown came off (less than 2 months after it was done by another dentist), and I needed to get it fix fast! The weekend was approaching and didn't want it to go on too long for fear of infection. Called numerous dentistry and none was open late on a Friday evening (after Christmas). This place was open and fit me in w/their schedule. Again, the staffs and Dr. were great! The facility is clean, water, coffee, and TV available for the customers. First dentist I went to that doesn't feel like a dentist office (or a medical facility). :-) Super plus - it's 5 minutes away from my home. Hoping the crown that was fixed stay on and I'll be a faithful customer for as long as I live in the area. ;-) read more

Dr. Cox is a great dentist! He is honest regarding payments, dental treatment and care. He always explains the procedures and what he is doing. I like his personality and he is easy to talk to about your dental concerns. Now, I say this because I hate people in my mouth. It is just uncomfortable and rather invasive but I don't feel so stressed about it now. His staff is very nice and courteous and their hours of service works well for me. Oh, he is also handling my aligners for straightening my teeth which has been going smoothly. So, I will continue to go to his office until one of us moves away. Last thing, I like that his office is small and not a lot of dentists running around. I know that he is the only dentist that will be looking in my mouth every time that I have an appointment. I have nothing bad to say. It took awhile to find a dentist that I truly like and respect. He will have to get a restraining order to get rid of me as a patient...LOL. I highly recommend him. Been going here for a few years me and my husband even though we moved to the high desert we still came to this place the last few times it's been going downhill and today I am done last time my husband went they could barely get him in for lousy x rays he had to wait 2 months for an appointment that's it just x rays no cleaning as he goes to a periodontist but they don't do x rays so he goes here even the periodontist couldn't believe they couldn't get him in for just x rays. When my husband came home from getting the x rays he told me that the woman who did them did not say one word to him and that Dr.Cox did nothing but complain to him and say everything "wasn't worth it" his favorite line about when you ask him why he doesn't do implants or cleanings on Saturday (even though they are open Saturdays, he used to do my cleanings himself on some Saturdays when I couldn't come during the weekdays, and obviously can't accomodate everyone on the weekdays anyway) or basically anything because you know actually being there and helping his patients is just "not worth it" even though you drive far you aren't worth it.He apparently also told my husband I should go elsewhere for cleanings too which made me upset when he told me this but I have been going here for awhile so today tried to make me an appointment he was apparently booked up past March which would put my cleaning that is due behind for months mind you this is just a hygienist doing these cleanings not him so why booked up so much? the same question we asked about x rays it's someone else doing them so what exactly is the problem? All Patty does is laugh and say she wishes she could when you get upset and ask her if there is anything she can do to get you in she was supposed to call me about an appt months ago but never did so now I can't get in she's not too competent a few months ago they sent me a text meant for my husband confirming an appt that wasn't even his either it was for someone else we don't know can't even get people's numbers right and she's so impersonal asking if you ever came before when you call uh yea for years try checking.This is how they treat clients that have been with them for years? She was told we would go elsewhere and she didn't even care so no they really don't care he has all the clients he needs apparently.Don't know where I am going to go now but obviously don't have a choice seeing as how you can't even get a lousy cleaning here anymore and they treat you like crap but I am sure somebody else can't be as bad as this place. read more

I'm a big baby about needles. I mean A BIG BABY. When I find a dentist that can 1) understand, sympathize and work with me, 2) make me not feel stupid about it, 3) who is still patient, and 4) make the experience a good one over and over again, then that dentist deserves 5 stars! Dr. Cox is one of the very best dentists I have ever worked with. I went there religiously every 6 months over a period of 3 years for cleanings. He also had to redo a problem filling, fill a cavity and something else more major, and, of course, they all involved needles. Once I also got a shot that didn't take, and I said it was fine and just took the pain of the drill - it was not fun (but surprisingly not unbearable). The point of all of this misery? He still gets a 5 star review! If I had to go back for work involving a needle, of course I wouldn't be looking forward to it (OK, maybe a little since he's a nice guy), and I'd probably be nervous about it, but I'd still not be worrying about it all day or dreading it as I have in the past.....Recommended 100%! Oh, and the staggered hours are a godsend. read more
