The guys at Canyon State went above and beyond for us with our HVAC issue. We had multiple companies come out to inspect our unit, and no one could figure out what was causing the weird smell. Every single one recommended we replace the entire system, which would have cost us around $10,000 or more. I called Nathan, and he had his crew out the same day. They thoroughly inspected everything and actually found the issue no one else could. They replaced the faulty part on the spot and completely resolved the problem. I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding the lack of communication and poor customer service I have experienced with CanyonState. I initially requested a roofing estimate on June 1st. While Josh visited the property immediately, the promised follow-up has been non-existent. Despite reaching out to Josh on June 3rd and June 4th, and being assured multiple times that a carpenter would contact me, I received no communication. On Friday, June 5th, I contacted Annette directly. She seemed concerned and promised to follow up, yet I heard nothing. When I called again on Monday, Annette did not initially recall our previous conversation. Once reminded, she again promised a prompt follow-up, but I have still not received a call back or an estimate. This experience stands in stark contrast to their company's stated values of "One Team, Integrity first, Safety, and Quality Obsessed." I hope the owners Kevin Ott and Joe Juelfs will investigate this matter, as the current level of service is unacceptable for potential clients. read more

My air conditioner condenser was not starting right. It would take 5 or 10 tries' before it would start working. I called Canyon State and they had a technician at my home in less than one hour. The tech Michael knew exactly what the problem was and replaced the defective parts and the condenser was working perfect. He checked the rest of the system and said everything was good to go! I called inquiring for a estimate on the garage roof that was leaking and an estimator came out the next week to check out the issue and gave me an estimate. A week later the crew showed up, remove the old tiles and fixed the leaks and return the roof to original condition. They showed up shortly after 7:00 in the morning and were done before noon, I was very impressed with the quality and the speed at which the work got completed. read more

I had them do the roof on my garage and they were great so I wanted them to replace my rain gutters on our house. I gave them a deposit the middle of June. Well I called them and told a date and nobody showed up and I called again give a day and same thing. I called again end of August asked them for a refund. The boss called me and said they be there the next day. This time they did show up and did the job! It turned out great and I'm happy with it but it did take persistent. read more

Short version: they lack communication and the work was shabby at best. The long version: We signed the contract 3/27/2026, paid them the half up front then didn't hear from them for over two weeks. They didn't return my calls or respond to my emails. When I was finally assigned a service contractor, he told me that it would be a week before he could start, which was fine because at least I heard from someone. They started over a week from the day I was told they would start. On May 5, 2026 they said they were done and needed more money than the contract stated. It was to be a two day job but it took over a week. I'm a 70 year old woman. I couldn't get on the roof to inspect their work, but from what I could see from the ground was disappointing. It appeared they didn't remove the old flashing around the chimney and sealed it with tons of tar. I paid to have the air conditioner lifted by a HAVC company, but not sure if that happened as one labor said it wasn't lifted then another one said after they said they were done with the job said it was lifted but not sure if by an HAVC company. As I wait for their final word, I pray the roof doesn't leak , especially around the chimney. read more

The contractor was forced to rectify his mistakes by the board of contractors and recalculate his invoices for the services not rendered. The damage to the interior was caused by the contractor not putting plastic up or some sort of barrier to protect the structure as he said he would when we signed the agreement, shame on me for not making sure it was in the contract. Even after he was told to fix his mistakes he still tried to get me to pay for the services not rendered I.e. for vents that weren't installed but was contracted to install. I now have had to make numerous repairs and have more to make to the eves . Unfortunately contractors are only held to the bare minimum here and you are not protected for anything that should have been done but is not on your contract . On my shop there was plywood and eves that show signs of water damage and had dry rot and they didn't bother even talking about it with me let alone attempt to fix . Even after the inspector pointed it out. This contractor is proud of doing only minimal work and as I found doesn't stand behind his work. Personally, I will never have anything to do with any of his company's All the owner tried to do was threaten and bully me into paying for incomplete and minimalist work and he still doesn't acknowledge that his company didn't uphold his contract and had to be forced by the state to complete the minimum duties of his contract as shown in his response to my complaint. Ok, I'm writing this after my final payment on new shingle roof. These guys, without question have been the absolute best contractor I have hired since moving to Kingman 2 .5 years ago and I have had a few. The price: I priced out 4 other contractors for this project with one being as high as ten thousand dollars higher. Kyle, the estimator was clean cut and a full gentleman. Tyler, the field Super was here throughout the project checking on quality control (an absolute necessity) The crew from Tear off, material delivery to installation were all exceptional. All were polite, respectful and hard working. Job was done in just days. I would completely recommend this company to any and all but especially if you are a local to the Kingman area. You all know how hard it is to find qualified trades here well, this is one. Also, I love the fact that they are a local business and setting a true standard in the community. .... I hired Canyon state as a general contractor to do a home remodel. From day one the details of the job were ignored, they took a deposit of $5000. Within a couple months of working with them we realized the mistakes that we're being made, the lack of detail to the job was evident. The lack of communication and professionalism was disappointing to say the least. Even when I met with them to try to resolve they ignored me and my communication efforts. I eventually fired them. And they didn't finish job and never gave my deposit back. This company is what I would refer to as "Jack of all trades master of none." read more

Canyon State installed the roof on my new house during the original construction. There is now a problem in a bit over two years with nails pulling out of the concrete roof tiles causing a possible safety hazard if one or more of the tiles comes loose. Canyon State does not want to warranty their work and wants to charge me 450.00 to repair what they did incorrectly on the original installation. Communication was fine at first to roof my garage but then it went sideways, first estimator just dropped off the face of the earth, no replies, etc...initial job date fell thru 3-4 times...finally got thru and the job did get done but not to satisfaction, nails left over etc...then no conversation of paying the rest of the bill, then tried to charge me interest when I never got email of the balance, no communication over the issues we had w install (before we pay the bill)...problems, bad communication with three diff people..feel sorry for the girls in the office who seemed nice and tried to handle things. read more

I had a written contract for the company to seal around the edge of my roof. These folks did above and beyond what our written contract outlined. The entire roof got a coating, along with doing the edge as outlined. Even came back out to go back over a couple of spots that were a little light on the coating applied. After some initial communication problems the crew from Canyon State came out much sooner then originally planned and did a fantastic job of repairing my roof. They did a much more extensive and complete job of repairing my leak than I anticipated or thought was planned originally and at what I thought was a much more than fair price. After initial communication problems were straightened out, I found them to be extremely concerned about what their customers thought of them and their business and more than fair and honest to deal with. We have used A2Z twice. The first time I thought it was a mistake because of phone calls not being returned or getting a commitment as to when the work would be done. I am selling the house and was in a bit of a hurry to get some work done. A company is really rated by how they solve product/workmanship issues. This company is an epic fail and doesn't deserve any stars or a recommendation. A2Z did the roof on our new home last year. Unfortunately, the roof leaked in late February of this year. We also sustained sheetrock damage in one of the bedrooms. We have been trying for over a month to work with this company to do the repairs that their poor workmanship caused. But phone calls aren't returned to schedule repairs or tell us anything. I had a few leaks in my roof and needed help soon, as it was the middle of monsoon season here. I called and explained my situation and they could not give me any idea of when they could get someone here to look at it and provide an estimate. When I asked for a "ballpark guess" I was told honestly it could be 2-3 months. When I said it's Monsoon season and I already have some of my ceiling falling apart I was told I could call another company to see if they could do it quicker for me. This company has been in business for many, many years and came highly recommended so I decided to wait. It took a couple months and a number of phone calls to get an estimate, and it was frustrating but I had heard they were worth the wait. So I waited. On one of the days I decided to call (again) about an estimate, I got lucky and was told they had someone here in Golden Valley today and could have him come by for the estimate. They sent out a guy called Norm. With him being a good honest man, he told me I did not need a new roof for many more years and would only need to replace my skylight, some shingles, and reseal all the vents etc. He quoted me a price I felt was fair so I said great how soon? He could not tell me, even a "ballpark guess" was iffy. It ended up taking a bit over 3 months (and at least as many phone calls) to get someone out here to do the repairs. When the two guys showed up the first time they did not have enough shingles because "We didn't know we were going to need them." Yikes! I bit my tongue because the one guy was willing to get up there and seal some of the vents, etc. He did, said they had to finish another job here in Golden Valley so they would be back tomorrow... Unless it rains. Well, it rained. So two days later they come back and quickly install the skylight and shingles. They were polite, answered my questions, and left the job site clean. I thought everything was fine until I looked up. The skylight was installed off center. Not much, but enough to notice (and drive me crazy). I told myself to just let it go, and I did...Until Friday, when I felt the air leak. Ugh! I got up on my stepladder to get a better look/feel of the leak from inside the house and could feel the plywood roof and old shingles directly under the skylight flange. It was not mounted flush to the roof, the old shingles were partially in the way on one side. So I called back to let them know and was informed that they did not have anyone in the area today. I said no worries, it can wait until next week. I was hoping they would correct the off center issue too when they returned, but I was told there was nothing that could be done about that. At that point I did call the office (again) to double check that nothing could be done and was told Norm had already left Golden Valley but would call the guys to hear what they think. So the guys used some filler to stop the air leak and left. I am still very impressed with this company, not just selling me a roof when I only needed a repair. That is why I will call them when I do need a new roof and would still recommend this company, as long as you are not in a hurry. read more

I'm new to Kingman, bought a house in October. During a windy rain storm, we encountered a leak at the Casita. I asked around and A2Z was highly recommended. I called and made an appointment for an estimate. While waiting for our appt., the main house sprung a leak during another rain strom. So when the two fellas from A2Z showed up, I let them know about the new leak. They went up on the roof, patched the leaky area (they guessed) around the wind turbine, then went to the Casita and patched the roof where they thought it was leaking between the garage and living area. They came to the door with a bill for repair. I was pissed because they DID NOT get approval before repairing. The office said that their were just so busy and they knew they couldnt get back before more rain. I did pay the bill, it was very reasonable. The truth was, they were selling the business and wanted to clear up outstanding customers. When the next rain came, I talked to the new people because the leak in the casita came back. Made a 8:30a appt, and he made sure I would be there for the appt. Well, when it was 9, I called to see what happened to him, was told he was on his way. At 9:30, I called back and asked for NEW time when he could be here, and I wanted a time that HE make, call me back with a good appt time. At 10:20 I called and td them to forget it. If they cant honor a time they picked, then how can I trust their work, and that they would return if something went wrong? New owner sucks at customer service. read more
