No, no and no thank you. Menu is limited and the items that they do have are not all that spectacular. I'm actually confused as to why there is always a crowd here. I ordered the steak taco platter. It comes with two tacos, a side of rice and a side of tortilla chips that come from a bag. Cost: $13.00 I generally stay away from any taco place not in LA or from a roach coach not sitting in Culver City, CA. But we were staying around the corner and people said we should give it a try. The steak itself was "ok", but not spectacular, it didn't taste grilled or charbroiled to me at all. It actually tasted like it was sliced and sitting in a broth of some sort. I can easily say, I've had at least 50lbs of carne asada, al pastor, carnitas, lengua, etc...from SD, to TJ, to Cancun, and this place was not even close to being authentic enough to hold a candle to any real taco joint. The rice that also came with the meal was very dry and flavorless. If all the hot sauce bottles on your table are empty...there must be a reason...i.e. food is dry or bland. I found myself in Cape May this weekend, and right down the block from our weekend rental was Key West Tacos. It's a small spot, with some indoor seating, and a few picnic benches for outdoor seating. I was there to grab a takeout lunch for my wife and myself. The menu lists about 10 variations of tacos, along with a few burritos and nacho platters. The tacos either come as a single, or as a combo - two tacos with a side of rice & beans. About 10 minutes after putting in my order, it was ready... a shrimp taco combo, a pork and a chicken taco. Non eco-friendly, as each was packaged individually in Styrofoam containers. I will preface my opinion about the food by saying that I love mexican food, and I have a soft spot for a good taco... so I may be a little more picky than most. Overall, the portions are big. One taco could probably serve as a light lunch. Too much of their tasteless 'slaw' however. They also put melted cheddar cheese on each taco - a little strange on shrimp. My main complaint is the food is just bland. They include heinz taco sauce with your order, which for any half way serious taco condenseur, is all probably all you need to know. No pico de gallo, no guac, no seasoning. no bueno. I guess it's the NJ shore so you can't expect Baja CA tacos... but if anyone out there has some $$$ and knows how to make a good taco, I know of a pretty good business venture down in Cape May.. read more

Perhaps the worst food in Cape May. Tried a chicken quesadilla, beef taco, and chicken taco. All of the chicken is a frozen, pre-seasoned chicken that you can get at grocery store. To have so few proteins and make one of them from a frozen bag is utterly shameful. read more

I've been curious about this place since they opened, but since my grandmother lives down the street and whenever I'm in Cape May she keeps me very well fed, I haven't had a chance yet. Last weekend I finally did and I am pleased to say that I was pleased. My sister and I split J.B.'s famous fish taco, the catch of the day blackened and served in a perfectly soft and warm flour tortilla and topped with a fresh coleslaw-like topping. The mango habanero hot sauce that we chose to generously garnish it with added a lot, and all in all it was the perfect post-beach snack. Other pluses include a good selection of bottled sodas and cute pastel-colored benches to sit at too. After all, isn't everything in Cape May pastel-colored? read more

Great place! A friend actually referred me here! Had the crab quesadilla! It was $12 for a sea lover quesadilla but I didn't think it was bad for the price considering it was fresh crab meat! This place is solidly meh. Ordered the vegetarian platter to split with my mom, and the guy taking orders heard and charged us for a single taco. When the order came up, I informed him of the mistake, and he was like, "Well just take this for now." When I ordered the second taco, I was able to jump the line and they made it pretty fast. Slightly redeemed. Place is very small, and that made it difficult to run back and forth to the counter to grab our food and corrected order. There are maybe 5 tables with chairs in the place; they may have downsized recently. The tacos were okay, mostly just bland. Slaw definitely came from a bag and I'm pretty sure the corn and jalapeños were from cans. I added generous dashes of their garlic habanero hot sauce but that didn't make much of a difference. Boyfriend got the nacho salad and he thought it was pretty good. Looked like the freshest thing on the menu. If you're concerned about price, one taco is probably enough as the double flour tortillas make them pretty filling. read more

Our first visit was on Mother's Day 2014. The freshness of my fish tacos seemed like it was the catch of the day. Simply delicious. Quesadillas got a two thumbs up from our 14 y/o. Found this little gem by accident. And thank gosh we did! This is a super small place that can't be missed by all the COLOR on the outside. The motif is fun and tropical. I have never been inside (which is where you order the food) but I hear it is small, hot and very little seating. Outback they have 6 or 7 picnic tables for dining. (Which is always where I am while someone orders the food) It's a neat place. The food is incredible and they give you a ton! The menu is decent sized for the size of the place in general. This place resembles a shack on the side of the road. There are a few seats both indoors and outdoors, but I preferred to take my meal to go. If you're going to eat tacos it's probably best to be near a bathroom, which this place does NOT have. The tacos are big and pretty good... Nothing to write home about, but good stuff! read more

I ordered the Ahi Tuna taco platter to go. The tuna was very fresh and cooked (medium rare) and seasoned perfectly. No cheese/slaw requested, and the pico was fresh and not overpowering. Some of the best fish tacos I've had. Definitely will be back for more. read more

First let me say that the food is more like 4-stars for it's freshness and creativity. It's not a Mexican restaurant. It's a Key West experience featuring Ahi tuna, and BBQ selections. I stayed across the street from this place and it has a great little vibe from the outside so had to try it. I had the Pork taco platter and my girlfriend got the mahi mahi taco. The platter included two tacos, chips, and rice. The chips were blah to me and just pulled out of a bag. From the look of the place, I thought they may be making their own, but I'm fairly confident that is not the case. The pork tacos were decent. Not the best I've ever had but certainly not the worst. There was two large tacos that hit the spot very nicely for lunch. Pork was tender and juicy. I prefer some big bold spices in my food so I expected a little more punch, but they were good. My one real criticism with the tacos is that they use two flour tortilla shells. I understand they want to give you a nice portion size in it, but I would prefer one shell loaded with a good amount as the flour shells (just from my experience) hold up better than the corn tortilla shells, which I see using two quite often. The mahi mahi taco receives a similar review as above. The fish was cooked spot on at a medium rare and was tasty. If I had to choose between the two, I'd get the mahi mahi again. The rice was also just average. Wasn't necessary for me and just seemed a little out of place without a refried bean or black bean of choice to accompany it. This is one of the best Mexican dives we've found so far in the past 3 years of vacationing in Cape May and we always look forward to returning. We ordered a Bubba's Shrimp and Reggie's Pulled Pork taco platters with a side of refried beans and a slice of key lime pie. The tacos were phenomenal and filling. They are so full that Key West Tacos doubles-up the tortillas, which not only holds it together better, but also gives you the option of making yourself an additional taco using some of the plentiful filling. The key lime pie ranks in my top favorite. They obviously take pride in their food and it is no wonder that a line can be seen forming outside and around the corner - the food is that good. The staff is extremely friendly and very patient when you can't decide what to order. The atmosphere is extremely laid back and the decor is fun to look at, but so small that I recommend you take it to go. The only two things we can say negative about the places is 1.) it is cash only and 2.) there are a limited selection of beverages (no Coke or Pepsi products), but don't let that deter you - the food stands on it's own. read more

I had one of their 'bowls' with chicken ($12) and the chicken was worse than the prepared chicken strips you would find in the cold cuts section at the grocery store. We went there at 4:30PM, on June 12, 2017. They advertise "gluten free" selections. My wife ordered something with a gluten free taco. They said that they didn't have any tacos that were gluten free. When she started to head for the door, they "remembered" that they had 2, so she ordered one with chicken. She has had celiac disease for 10 years and knows what a gluten free taco should look like. She didn't think the taco she was served was gluten free, so she nibbled on the chicken and trashed the rest. Heads up if you are gluten intolerant and you go to this place. First of all, it's pricey. $7.50 per taco! They only take cash and we had $25 so we got a bowl and one steak taco. The taco is served with plain corn chips (no salsa) and clearly frozen meat and a dry cabbage "slaw." We watched them throw frozen chicken (complete with fake grill marks), canned retried beans, rice and cheese into the microwave, then top it with the same dry cabbage-poor-excuse-for-slaw and some chopped tomatoes. Makes chipotle look gourmet. Unfortunate because the staff was friendly and there's a semi-cute outdoor space to sit with picnic tables. But the food was just unbelievably bad.
