I believe strongly that you can't rate a business well just when everything goes perfectly because that can be sheer luck...but when an error is made and you fix it and make it right I believe that deserves the greatest recognition!! I took my car in for recalls and Ford decided to "change" what they would cover. Now to be clear I did not purchase my car at Capital Ford as I recently relocated from out of state so I guess you could say Capital Ford didn't owe me anything! Since the recall guidelines had been changed by Ford (not the dealer but the main company) I was given quite a substantial bill that I was not prepared to pay. Anthony did not argue with me but kindly gave me the info to contact Ford myself which I did. My case was quickly escalated to the manager who sympathized with my frustration and worked with me on the fee. The mistake was Ford's and not this independently owned business but they treated me as though it affected them personally. I will definitely be back!! read more

Recall notice on the Ford. Call and make appointment. Tuesday at 9:00am. That Tuesday the car was there at 8:45am. They said half a day. my wife goes shopping and out to lunch and calls around 2:30pm. cars is still not ready. She waits in the waiting room until 3:55pm and finally goes and asks for the manager. The manager goes and gets Todd who goes and gets my wife the keys. I guess their half days are 7 hours long. It appears the car was ready and that no one bothered to do the paperwork! Not good service at all! we will not be taking our cars back there for service! Besides when my wife called prior to this she was told someone would call her and they never did. When she called again the women who answered the phone was very snotty and had an attitude! Wonder if Dick knows the people who are running his business are not very good! read more

Absolute WORST customer service when it came to service station. They are disorganized and unresponsive, not to mention rather rude on the phone. The day after my car was picked up the battery conveniently DIED, as in needed to be completely replaced. Not sure how they did it but I brought my car in with a full tank of gas and received it on empty; for a transmission issue this makes NO sense. I had an appointment on Tuesday and my car wasn't even looked at until Wednesday. And then even to get a straight answer on what was going on I had to call about 10 times over the course of 2 days. Leave a message? Don't bother! They don't care enough to return your call in any sort of timely manner. Considering my dad works for Ford back home, Im honestly appalled that you could operate in such a crap manner. Your are 100% lucky there's not another Ford dealership nearby, with competition I guarantee you would either have to seriously step it up or lose all of your business. Hopefully your manager or owner will crack a whip or something, FIGURE IT OUT CARSON FORD. read more

Bought a new Hyundai from Capitol Ford Hyundai and after 16k miles tires were wearing badly.I went to Capitol Ford service with proof that vehicle was out of alignment when they sold it and asked help. They offered a 20 dollar off coupon on a 4 wheel alignment as the solution. I will never deal with them again. read more

Obviously I am not the only one that had almost been taken advantage of. Went down Memorial Weekend to buy a car, ended up finding a nice used car with low miles. Told them where I wanted to be price wise and they couldn't seem to get there giving me rediculous prices per month ($460 for a used car...WTF are you thinking). So the end of the month is today and they called saying they can get it to the price I was looking for. After 3 hours of rushing to get what is needed, I get there and they have a different price all together. I can't say I could be more irritated by the rediculous ness of this dealership. Loosing a $21,000 sale over $500 dollars. Maybe car dealerships need to learn its not all about commission, it's about taking care of the customer and getting referrals. Obviously I will be finding my vehicle elsewhere, I strongly suggest if you want a Hyundai or Ford please do your research. If not then they might take more advantage of you than you know. Maybe even find a different dealership with the same vehicle. read more

I had a very poor service visit last February and like a dummy I tried again! The 2013 Escape began making a grinding noise the same day the battery died, I had the car towed into the shop and talked to my service advisor Kurt, he said they would get right on it. On Wednesday I called back and he thought it might be the alternator and put us in a rental car, on Thursday he thought it was the turbo on Friday it was "not safe to drive" because it was the fly wheel. Then Kurt quits the dealership and moves out of state, fast forward to Monday and my car is healed! I called and spoke to Jon who had no idea what was going on because he was on vacation, I called Greg the service manager and left a voicemail, then I called Suzanne the customer relations manager who told me Greg had left and she would get back to me, hour after hour no one could explain my cars miraculous healing but assured me it was safe to drive, I went down to the dealership to retrieve my car some other service person named Josh brought keys to the cashier window, they weren't mine! I paid my bill, the cashier motioned that the car was "out the door and to the left" I found my car opened the door and found trash on the floor and plastic wrap on the seats! Back inside to find someone to clean it out. The service visit was like some sort of farce, where nobody knows the answer and nobody will call you back. read more

The car is amazing BUt my wife and I both bought new cars on the same day and only because they wouldn't give up the cars to Reno Mazda and promised us we could still use Reno Mazda for service. Now Reno Mazda says we have to take our cars (Mazdas) to Jones West Ford for all service and both Reno Mazda and Ford say that Carson has been screwing people constantly just telling them what they want to hear. Buyer be warned......if you want an honest answer DONT go to Carson! Now we have to go through the process of cancelling the "Premium Service Plan" we bought with Carson because it's not worth the paper it was printed on and we will have to purchase out of pocket a decent service plan with a MAZDA dealer instead of a Ford dealership. I own a 04 E350 with the 6.0 diesel motor. Over the last year i have spent around 5K in their service department. I had a couple of instances where i was frustrated with this dealership but i always trusted their word. Yesterday i brought my vehicle in for a coolant leak because they changed my whole cooling system. After the diagnostic they found i had 2 leaking radiator hoses same hoses they had to remove. I didn't start a stink i was willing to pay ford to fix it until they told me it would be 750 to change 2 hoses. I asked why so much? service guy said the upper hose was 220 alone. I picked up my E350 came home and called the ford dealership in Sac, funny how i bought the upper hose for 80 and the lower for 10. with a 200 dollar labor I saved myself 460. I will never use this dealership again for anything. All the bad reviews should say something. read more

I do not live in the area, but have used Capital Ford on two occasions when I was in the Lake Tahoe area on vacation. Both times they squeezed me in to the schedule. 5 Stars for a car buying experience has to be some kind of award winning feat! We dropped in to Capital Ford on Sunday to see if they had one of those cool Transit vans on the lot to just look at. We have a large family and had been searching for a full size van (NOT AN EXPLORER, Jones West Ford) that was reasonably priced but met some specific criteria. They had a cargo version in stock and the salesman Keith showed it to us even though it wouldn't seat the fam etc. He offered up a test drive touting its handling and engine specs etc. We got back to the lot and decided to custom order our own 2016 Transit Wagon. We ended up spending like 6 hours at the dealership altogether and it was pretty enjoyable. I was never pressured or hurried off and not one guy in there was a swarmy car salesman. Keith called me today to give me an update on timeframes for my wagon to be built and to thank me for my business. I told him it was truly my pleasure to buy a car there. I drive a Ford Focus 2014 and my driver's side door latch was recalled and actually broke, resulting in my driver side door unlatching while driving. As a result, I called this particular dealership and the woman on the phone was so rude. She flat out told me she would not set up an appointment for my vehicle because there were other vehicles with recalls ahead of me (I was not asking to get in immediately, i was willing to drop off the car since I have 4 consecutive days off from work mind you this was 4 days ahead of those 4 days,) she instead insisted on sending me to an automated number that i would leave a message at. Upon asking if I was going to talk to a real person she promptly told me no and that was the end of our conversation. She was rude, I can only assume it was because the problem was recalled and being done for free. I don't care what kind of money I'm spending, I have been a faithful Ford customer and don't deserve to have an attitude given to me because you feel like I'm not doing anything for you. I instead called Reno Ford and was immediately helped and have an appointment with the service department to get in and get both the recalls fixed. 5 STARS TO RENO FORD. read more

The service manager Troy saved the day! My husband drove there from Fallon for an appointment for his F450. He intended to wait for the diagnosis, but when he arrived, he was told it could be up to an 8 hour wait, leaving him stranded in Carson! I called Troy and explained that I couldn't take two hours off of work to go pick my husband up. Troy set him up with a loaner car. Great job!! I would highly recommend this dealership that knows what customer service is all about! We will be in the market for a new F450 soon and there is no doubt this dealership is first on the list! read more

I wouldn't buy another thing from them. I purchased a used 2006 Subaru Tribeca from them in August. The vehicle only had 134,000 miles on it. It had not been thru detail yet. It ran fine for the test drive, so I went ahead and purchased it. I was excited to get a better car that what I had and being able to take trips without worry. I told the salesperson there was a noise in the front end when I went over speed bumps and I wanted these small mirrors taken off the big outer mirrors. I took it back in for them detail and the other things. It took 3 days and they broke the passenger mirror. I saw there was paint problems on the passenger back door, after the detail, and a pretty big scratch on the windshield. I was willing to except those blemishes. I took and tip to Idaho and was LUCKY to make it home, It started overheating and had to drive very carefully back. I was told by someone there, basically, that's what you get for a car that old with that many miles. WTF. So, I drove straight from Idaho to the dealership. It took 3 months to fix it. I hear things like this was suppose to be wholesaled, theyhad done work on it before I bought. They KNEW things were going on. They did pay to have the heads replaced, but I do still have the front noise, which a mechanic, said I have to get the bushings replaced at $800. At thought at buying a car for $8000, low miles, good condition would have been better. I understand when you buy a used car, but I took it back within the fist week of having it. It has been a nightmare. read more

I was very happy with the service I received when I took my car in for routine maintenance. The customer lounge was comfortable and clean. There is a message board that keeps you advised at what point your car is during service, which I found helpful. This will be my first winter in the snow and both my service advisor and the parts salesman gave me some helpful tips for driving in the snow. When the service was done, my service advisor went over the report with me and explained what everything meant and also what ratings indicate when things will need to be replaced. There was one small "hiccup" in that they did not replace the air filter when l brought it in. I found out when they called me two days later and told me about it. I was ready to take it back but they said they would come to me. I live 45 minutes away, so I thought this was exceptional customer service! They could have not told me about the air filter, I would never have known the difference, but the fact they told me and corrected the issue right away speaks to the integrity of their service. read more
