While the staff is friendly in person, this service center appears to struggle with scheduling, capacity, and clear communication. Unless you actively and repeatedly follow up, your car does not seem to be prioritized, and updates are rarely provided without prompting. Most recently, I brought my car in for a Ford recall software update. What was scheduled as a same-day appointment turned into multiple days with minimal information, shifting explanations, and long stretches with no proactive updates at all. I experienced issues only after the car was in their possession, yet communication remained vague and reactive. If you value timely service and consistent updates, I'd strongly recommend considering a different Ford service center. read more

Another bad experience with Ford. Took my truck in 4 times and the transmission problem is still not fixed. I asked the dealership to cover my rental difference given this is the 4th time I'm bringing it in (Ford extended warranty only covers $30/day). They've refused and said they have to first diagnose the problem. 4th time and they still do it right. I normally don't leave negative reviews, but I feel this experience is important for other customers to be aware of. This occurred in January 2026. I brought my 2018 Mustang to Capitol Ford specifically for ABS / AdvanceTrac warning lights and paid a $325 diagnostic fee. After the inspection, I was told that the issue appeared to be related to voltage (battery and battery cable), and that if repairing those items didn't resolve the problem, I would need to bring the car back for further diagnosis. I was also given a list of recommended repairs totaling over $2,500. Wanting to verify the diagnosis before moving forward, I had a free ABS scan performed elsewhere. That scan identified a left rear wheel speed sensor. I had the wheel speed sensor replaced, and the problem was fully resolved. The ABS and AdvanceTrac alerts turned off and have not returned. This confirmed that the wheel speed sensor was the cause of the warning lights I brought the vehicle in for, which was not identified or communicated to me during the paid diagnostic. While I understand that voltage issues can sometimes affect module readings, the root cause ended up being a specific wheel speed sensor failure that was immediately identified with a basic scan tool. I want to be fair and say that my service advisor was very helpful. My concern is with the diagnostic process and the fact that I paid for a diagnosis that did not identify the primary fault. I also reached out to management afterward but did not receive a response. I wanted to give the dealership the opportunity to review this privately before leaving a public review. My expectation from a dealership-level diagnostic is that the primary fault causing the warning lights would be identified and clearly communicated, especially when it is later found quickly through a basic scan and confirmed by repair. Bought a used ford explorer thinking buying a used vehicle from the dealership would run across any issues, not even a week into buying the vehicle check engine light comes on so I brought it back to dealer because not only did I want the maintenance package but also requested extended warranty. Come to find out the extended warranty wasn't added to my vehicle and even though I had only had it for a week and I already had check engine light on I was to come out of pocket for whatever issue maybe, took it to my own mechanic and he told me nothing was done to vehicle and had to pay $700 n repairs plus another $200 to have it towed from the place it left me because car was overheating. All this recall issues on the vehicle keep coming up and I'm told when I set up appointment that I would have car back in a couple hours, came to my appointment at 9am and it's 1:09pm and I'm still here waiting as others have come and gone. Worst experience with a ford vehicle and the first opportunity I have to get rid of this vehicle I'm getting another Chevy or Honda but never again will I trust a ford vehicle or set foot into a ford dealership I can say that this has been my worst experience and I will never again go with a ford. read more

I do not recommend Capitol Ford for servicing your vehicle. They do not thoroughly investigate errors that other service centers diagnose. Having been dealing with months and months of the same alerts and issues, all documented with the Ford app, they were not able to diagnose the error properly, leaving me with an approximately $7K bill. All the high rated reviews are about buying a car from Capitol and my experience there was good, but once they have you their followup service is deplorable, and they apparently don't care. They overcharge (labor rates are criminal), they recommend fixing things that don't need fixing, they don't keep you informed of your vehicle's progress unless prodded, there is no quality control in the parts department... I wish I had read the poor reviews first. Came in for a simple oil change and it turned into a nightmare. Picked up my car with the check engine light on, had to return it. They claimed to fix an oil leak, but I came home to a huge oil stain in my driveway--another trip back. The techs seem incompetent, and management never returns calls. I've heard positive and negative things about this service center. This was the third time I've used them and all three times have been great. Michael B was my representative the last two times and he is always super helpful, professional and has a great attitude. I went in this time for an oil change and tire rotation. Make sure you make an appointment, they honor those for sure. It was a Saturday morning and they were a little short staffed but Michael was great at letting me know and everyone there was working hard. The lady who was helping as well was great. When I got the car back, everything on the back seats was pushed to the floor, my kid's car seat was detached and laying on the seat, the passenger seat was left in an obnoxious position/angle, audio wires were disconnected, a main wire under the steering column near the pedals was disconnected and not reconnected, as well as the car was not run through the onsite car wash. Overall, the job seemed sloppy. A few days later, I received a marketing email from the Service Director, Eldin Pasic, soliciting a glowing 10/10 survey response for a service review survey that was soon to hit my inbox. He provided his email address in the message should I have feedback based on my visit. I sent him an email with the details listed above and, a week later, still have not received a response. Apparently, not only are they not concern with negative experiences, they also don't care to respond to this kind of feedback. My 2015 Mustang GT Convertible's brakes were squealing for the past 3 months and driving me crazy, and I decided to try out the Ford Dealership and I also had a few recalls, and I am glad I did. I made the appointment online and called a few days later to go over what my appointment was for. So that was great, and my appointment was updated and was sent a confirmation text. Michael was my service technician, and he was easy to work with an had a great attitude. Michael kept we notified with any updates on the repairs throughout the day. The service department finished the repairs on my Mustang and all the recalls, and I picked my car up on the same day. There was even an additional issue with my rear window and Michael called me the next day to let me know how much the repair would be and even sent me the link for the part. And when they sent it back, I found there was a dent and scratch on the front passenger side door. I know my car very well and I am sure it had no dent the day before they picked it up. I talked to the service manager about this. They said they can't do anything because I did not take pictures before the car was picked up to show the damage wasn't there before. This was not a good experience for me because I thought they would take better care of my car. If you send your car to them, make sure you take pictures of it before they pick it up, just in case. read more

Reached out to this dealership a year ago looking for a Ford Maverick knowing how hard it is to actually buy one. I spoke with Josh and he explained the ordering process to me and set expectations, promising no additional dealership markup over MSRP. I put down a $500 deposit and patiently waited. A year(!) goes by and along the way I contacted Josh a few times via text. He always responded within minutes and even though there was no updates he could give me, I felt reassured that Josh was someone who was genuinely trying to help. Luckily, I get an official email from Ford letting me know they have my order and rest assured the car I wanted will be built.... eventually. Ford would then send me an email every 45 days - nothing new to report but at least it was something. And about 5 weeks before my car finally did arrive, I get an email saying the car went into production. Josh also texted to let me know this was happening. The big day was here and I drove over with my wife to the dealership. On my way there I got a little sneak peek video from Josh showing me the car and letting me know it was getting detailed. Josh kept his word. No dealership markup. I paid MSRP and nothing more. I did get the extended warranty sell, but opted against it. Overall, I had a fantastic experience with this dealership. But I think Josh was the shining star of the whole process. I really encourage anyone who is going here to ask for him. You'll be happy you did. read more

Just got my GT350 back after spending time here for a cam sensor repair/check engine light issue. On the way home, the car threw ANOTHER check engine light, started to make terrible noises when just turning around corners. (right hand turns) Got it home but noticed that the oil pressure gauge was dripping below 20PSI when making right hand turns. (20PSI is WAY too low for this car.) After letting the car sit for an hour I checked the oil level. The DIP STICK WAS DRY! I re-checked it several times, each time I pulled the dipstick out it was completely dry. Ran out to get a case of 5w50 (using my other car) and started to fill the car back up. In total, the car was 6.5 quarts low. (The car takes 10quarts) I don't know what happened but they gave me car back with almost no oil in the pan, barely enough for the pickup to get any oil at all. God only knows how jacked up the bearing are. Thanks a ton, Cap Ford. read more

Set up an appointment over the phone with Marco and was very specific about work we wanted to do for a 30K service. In person, we checked in and wanted to confirm the list of service items. He made pretend he was checking his list. I asked him to please show me the list and he would not. Pressured us to check in the vehicle. Treated us with disdain and disrespect and said he could not help us anymore and refused to confirm the list. He claimed what we wanted was all on the used car service they were giving me. I asked to talk to service manager who confirmed two important items were not on their used car service list and he would add them. He also told me that my vehicle did not have U-joints so no need to check them (false - would not drive w/o them) and that brake fluid level could not be checked (false - we check it ourselves on a regular basis). Took us 1 hr to check in the vehicle instead of 5 minutes. Still don't know if all of the service items were done. It's bad enough if you don't know what you are doing and even worse to ignore the customer and then treat them like shit and waste their time. These guys don't know what they are doing so good luck with service. I don't trust them with my vehicle. read more

After having a disgusting experience at the Frontier Ford on Stevens Creek - fighting and begging for them to replace my TCM as they were supposed to (if you don't know, Ford has issued multiple extensions on their "Customer Satisfaction Program" for replacing their faulty transmission control modules; meaning that if your TCM fails, Ford is liable to cover the costs to replace the TCM for you), I finally brought my car to Capitol Ford. Zachary was great, and actually made it seem like he cared about my experience. Luckily, this Ford Service Center had TCMs in stock, and while the paperwork was getting processed and my Ford getting queued up for the replacement, Zachary also resolved another outstanding recall on my vehicle, making good use of the time my car was in the shop. Zachary did a satisfactory job of keeping me updated on the status of my vehicle via text or call (when necessary), and got the TCM replaced quicker than initially anticipated. I am so grateful for Zachary and Capitol Ford Service Center for doing their jobs efficiently and with much better customer service than I've experienced at other Fords. If I need to bring my Ford back to a dealer in the future for any service items, you can bet I'll only be bringing it to Capitol Ford and will likely be requesting Zachary. read more

Not recommended for service I had service with Dubinovic Zejna on 2/22/23. She was totally unreachable and unreliable. She didn't follow up on the service we mentioned. Also, it was unreasonable charge and we have to pay. We asked to upgrade the software on the screen but the upgrade didn't finish, she said we have to replace some parts in order to continue the upgrade, but that parts would cost ~$1800 so I declined that. Turned out we still have to pay for the upgrade at full cost which is ~$250 even the upgrade didn't complete. She came back and say that the cost for the diagnosis. Which I don't understand because this cost the same as the cost of the software to get upgrade. read more

I've lived San Jose about 2 miles from Capitol Ford the vast majority of my life. In my experience their service has always been a joke. For one example we bought a '78 Pinto from them and when I pointed out that you could use a coil to open the back hatch instead of a key they gave me the typical "we have to inspect it for $50 and if it's a defect then we can fix it for free under the warranty". I've always hated that tactic since it's often hard to disprove what they find. Don't forget that $50 was a lot of money in the late 70's. In the end Swanson Ford in Los Gatos saw it, knew immediately what it was and fixed it for free. I'd heard that they've changed since DGDG bought them but I couldn't ever bring myself to try them, until a couple of weeks ago. If you've seen my review of Sunnyvale Ford you will see that my 2019 Ranger's driver's belt buckle failed and needed to be replaced. The truck is under 5 years old and it had less than 60K so it should be a no brainer. When I talked to Capitol early last week they seemed sympathetic suggesting they thought it was wrong that the buckle wasn't covered but they also couldn't come up with a solution just telling me to call Customer Care. Customer Care was useless. In the middle of the week my Ford Parts friend from out of town talked to his manager and he said they have a way to cover these items when this happens since it happens on occasion. Since the Capitol folks seemed sympathetic I went to them and told them the trick. They immediately changed their tune and pushed back hard. One of the senior techs even went so far as to complain "look, I have other customers to call." He ended with, "take it to Sunnyvale Ford, they sold you the truck." That seems to be a common comment from some Ford Dealers which is lousy service. I went into the sales area and talked to one of the more senior managers and when I told him that Folsom Lake Ford had a way to cover it he said "why don't you take it there?" My response was "be careful, when it comes to buying a new Ford the same advice could apply" So, in the end, while DGDG bought them and they supposedly brought a lot of good techs from Frontier Ford over I can tell you that I won't go here again. Too bad too, they are the closest Ford Dealer. Their shortsightedness in service and pushback is not a good way to folks to want to come back and spend money. read more

Capital happened to have the largest inventory at the time and without being pushy they kept me in the loop from the time I originally contacted them. I only visited with the intent of comparing a few different trim levels since they had them all there. in a couple hours I was driving the vehicle I wanted home. I've purchased a lot of vehicles and this was the most painless experience. They handled my trade-ins fairly. They explained my options and gave me a great deal on the vehicle. Where can I begin... had a 10am appointment today for just an oil change and tire rotation. There at 9:55am. only the third car in line and wasn't helped until 10:29am. Because of the long time they took to even say hello, the custo service agent comped the service (a nice touch). Told me it would take up to an hour for the service. Long story short, I finally got my car back at 1:18pm, about 3.5 hours since arriving there! What a debacle. Plenty of bodies but no one managing the process. At 12:30 I asked to just get my car back so I could leave, but still waited almost another hour for it. What a joke. i am in the market for a new car this week and was looking at a new ranger or maverick, having bought my last three fords from capitol ford. But due to this horrific lack of customer care, I'll be looking at anything but a ford. Shameful. read more

I wanted to upgrade my review. I still stand by my original review, but I am very please with Zaki who recognized a defect in my cowl and replaced it under warranty rather than fighting it. This is a world in which you can have a car crash through your living room window and pin you to your couch and people like insurance agents will refuse the claim ("what were you wearing?) so I commend Capitol Ford on their accountability. Morgan Hill Ford Store has been a better experience. 2018 Ford Focus transmission had clutches resplaced under warranty, shifting felt odd still. Yes $5035.00 to repair a Water Pump.- pump goes thru the timing chain. Water & oil don't mix well. I have a 2017 Exploder XLT Wt W/ 42k miles & the warranty just ran out. Capitol Ford - fixed the entire thing for $990. ($440 parts) IF you are a loyal Ford customer you will have a Customer Rating with Ford. An excellent rating might help...
