Came randomly with my son, he actually picked the place. We were greeted immediately and sat. Our server was very friendly and patient, my son has a tendency to ask a million questions and he answered them all enthusiastically. My son got a build your own waffle (half size) with strawberry, banana, blueberry, whip cream and some chocolate sauce, and a side of chicken tenders. He loved the waffle and they didn't short on the toppings, he also said those were the best chicken tenders ever. I ordered a house coffee, bacon egg and cheese taco and a chorizo egg taco and added arugula, both were very good. My son even asked to talk to the cook, which he actually came out and entertained him (we were the only ones in at the time since it was a random time during the day). Well happened to be in the area after doing some medical stuff and was starving. Well after a little Yelp Reviewing found this little gem. First it's off to the side in this strip mall area. To the left of Golds Gym and next to a Miracle Ear place. So it took a second to find it via Waze. But don't be discouraged. It's a cute little joint. You go to the counter and get menus and then choose your own seats. Once you know what you want, go to the counter to order. However, food was brought to our table. Well as for the meal. There were several items I kinda wanted but both the wifey and I decided on the 1/2 Country Waffle. This had a 1/2 waffle covered with a couple scrambled eggs and sausage gravy. It was very good. Both the wifey and I really liked it. The waffle had a wonderful flavor as so did the sausage gravy. The combination really worked together. We also had two sweet teas. Considering the total came to about $26, before tip, I think the portions were just about right. As for the service: I think the two young ladies working did very well. Treated us wonderfully and the meals came to the table quickly. So give this joint a try - I don't think you'll be disappointed. I'm sure we will be back next time in the area. read more

Met a girlfriend here for Saturday brunch about 2 weeks ago. The gps had a tough time pinpointing the location for us both but we found it nestled in the small strip to the left of Gold gym. We walked in grabbed some menus off the counter and were told to pick a spot to sit. So we did but when none of the young ladies behind the counter came over to take our order, we discovered you're to order at the counter. I got the chicken Philly waffle. My friend ordered the spicy chicken waffle. They arrived pretty quickly. My girlfriend enjoyed hers, said it was definitely on the spicy side bc of the sriracha and jalapeños. I enjoyed mine as well but did feel that the queso was very bland and I would have the dried onion topping removed if ordered again. We were added to a waitlist, but then had to ask if we could sit at a table that opened up (we were the only ones on the waitlist). We sat for a bit before realizing we needed to order at the counter. We weren't told that when we chatted with the counter. I went in to order and stood by for 10 minutes while I was ignored by the staff who made mimosas and stood around. The tall white dude who seemed to be owner/manager effusively welcomed a group that walked in and asked if they'd been there before and ignored me the whole time. I finally was able to place an order. The food was pretty good and 3 breakfast tacos, a full chicken waffle and two coffees ran us $25 which felt like good value. The staff were all very friendly and helpful; one guy was obviously new and still in training, but the lady training him was on top of things. I ordered the Country Breakfast Waffle, my wife ordered two of the $2 breakfast tacos and a pineapple mimosa. The portions were huge, especially for the prices. The taste was good, but not hugely flavorful. Best bang for your buck is definitely those tacos! Bottom line? The prices are great, the service was fast and friendly, and while it didn't "wow" me, the food was pretty good. But I feel I need to share a recent experience to warn other diners you must finish eating your before two p.m, or you will be asked to leave The Sunday after Thanksgiving my husband and I went to this capital Waffle Shop for lunch. Our food wasn't served to us until one forty five and the waitress actually said We close at two do you want a to go box. How rude. You will take our money and then ask us to leave. What about customer service and appreciation and being treated like a human being. Do business owners and their employees forget that without customers they would not have jobs. Austin greeted us and listened even over the loud music to hear that I needed coffee which slipped my husband's mind when he went to order. The food was epic, especially the liege waffle. The food was good but I'm not a waffle connoisseur. They charge extra for a full waffle so I don't think it's worth the money but it tasted good. We went there because they offer gluten free options, which is great. But the place was a bit dirty, the server we had clearly didn't want to be there, he was slow, looked tired (or stoned) didn't pay attention, his clothes were dirty too (food residue) and at one point he wiped his nose with the palm of his hand (no, not the back of his hand, the inside) but didn't wash them after. It felt like we were inconveniencing him. The staff share restrooms with customers, which is totally fine, except it's a small place so when one of the servers told the other one that he was going to the restroom, the whole place heard it. He disappeared for 5 minutes so obviously it was a no. 2, which is totally natural but I don't really want to know when the servers take a dump. Also, I would recommend that the long haired staff ties up their hair working around food / in the kitchen. Most places would require a hair net. Also, a lot is served in take out cups / plates, which is really wasteful and not sustainable. read more

I've been to Capital Waffle Shop a few times. I usually find them reasonably fast and friendly. I like the food well enough - though I admittedly get more excited about it than I get about the actual flavors - the sharp flavors like sun dried tomatoes are usually a bit over used and the rest is pretty bland - at least by comparison, so it doesn't balance well. I can honestly say that I've never left thinking, "That was amazing!" Again - I just get really excited about waffles and with them waffle pressing other foods. I do not like the switch to scan and order. I'm not fan of it in general, but sometimes it's not too bad. Here's why I left feeling all the bitterness today: 1- This scan and purchase does not offer fast headings so that you can easily get to the section of the menu that you want. 2- The menu items are not all grouped with like items, so you really have to read through everything to find what you want. 3- It's incomplete- it does not include water, there is no place to make a note for something that may be important to your order, and some order options have not been added. 4- Right here is the biggest problem: Orders do not arrive in the order received or with other orders at the table. At my table were 2 people who made two separate orders. My friend's order was simpler and arrived first- not a big deal if mine would arrive soon after, but mine arrived after my friend ate their entire order. My friend offered to wait, but if they had, their order would have been an ice cube by the time mine came. People don't come to a restaurant TOGETHER to watch each other eat separately. If we had been waited on, this would have been far less likely to happen, but in truth, that is the kind of thing that should really be on the radar of the people making and serving the food. I am unlikely to go back again. Capital Waffle Shop stays in the okay grey area. There are many options in the area where a tastier Waffle can be had, with full service, and where you can eat at the same time as the folks at your table. read more

This is our first time coming here. Mimosa is great, not too strong which is perfect for me. Waffle was cooked perfectly as well as the chicken I thought I wouldn't like it, but it came out pretty good. I love my chorizo and egg tacos.
