This is such a cute spot! Tucked away in a busy area, there's a great area for outdoor seating as well as indoor seating and it's very aesthetically pleasing! The coffee was beautiful as you can see in my photos. We didn't try any snacks or treats but the coffee was fabulous and I'll definitely be back. Beautiful place and the service was fabulous!

Loved this spot! I arrived 10 minutes to closing, so I was nervous the barista would be annoyed - but they were honestly a pleasure. I got an iced ube latte & iced coffee, both of which were good. Nowadays I feel like a lot of baristas are focused on speed and the ordering experience feels disconnected. The barista at closing today was really friendly & it brightened my day. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed an excellent mug of Latte. The Latte was perfectly prepared. Nice spaces to get work done! Service was fast, friendly and efficient.

One of my favorite coffee spaces whenever I feel like sitting down and feeling spread out. The indoor space is huge but they also have a shared courtyard that's also open and spacious. The lattes here are always great, and the baristas are friendly and expert with the latte art. Great vibes for some zen moments.

Great! I was looking for a good cafe with some delicious matcha and happened to walk into this place. The barista s were my favorite aside from the delicious drinks they recommended. We told them that we were visiting and they were so helpful! The cafe itself is very spacious and has a beautiful atmosphere to it. I'd definitely stop by again and grab another matcha from here. The one I ordered was the cardamom rose chai and she made it dirty by adding matcha. Definitely recommend! :)

Wow. Amazing iced oat milk Ube latte. Not too sweet. Perfect amount of caffeine. Super cute location lots of people sitting inside with their laptops. One woman took our orders and made our drinks but still went super fast, under 10 minutes which is impressive.

Capitola cool vibe ~ underpass walk thru to a one-of-a-kind courtyard. Urban, tall rusted sipping container walls gives a slight claustrophobic comfort with the coffee. Inside ~ space and more space, love it! Outlets and tables all around; can really get some laptop work done in here. Service ~ no frills chill. You just want your caffeine and not in the morning mood for human interaction - this is where you come. Not a knock on their service; appreciate the focus on just making good coffee.

$9.50 with tip for a pour over, wow (i think 10 oz). That includes $1.50 charge for steamed h&h. Not coming here again. I get things are inflated but there us cream on the counter for free...im still shocked, lol. I wanted a stream topper to keep the coffee hot. Coffee ended up all luke warm. Nutty smooth flavor, decent. About 10 ppl in the place studying g or working on Tuesday late a.m. Clean and cute place with hipster vibe. Really chill...I mean really chill baristas.

Came here on a Wednesday afternoon and got a honey lavender oat matcha, which is a seasonal special. Cute coffee shop with outdoor courtyard seating. Service was quick and the drink was good - sweet and you could definitely taste the floralness of the lavender. My friend got a pour over that he enjoyed but didn't think was special. Prices are standard for your hipster-y vibe coffee shop.

Great espresso/coffee house and if they want 5 stars they need paper or compostable straws. Lovely interior, open, great lighting and courtyard is cool. Friendly staff that helped me with my iced maple latte option. One of the best coffee spots on Mississippi.

Capitola is a cute, trendy, spot for a quick coffee. I was kinda bummed that they close so early as I wasn't quite ready to leave when it was time to go. The interior was sparse but perfectly minimal. I loved the cute glass container that the drink came in along with the self-serve water station to keep my hydrated between caffeinated drinks.

The space feels cozy, welcoming, and full of personality. I especially loved the little post-it wall where customers can leave behind anything they want a small detail that makes the café feel even more personal and community-driven. What I ordered: Soft Cream Matcha One of the creamiest matchas I've ever had! The soft cream was incredibly fluffy and smooth, while the matcha itself was bold enough to come through with every sip and also had a coconuty essence to it. It had just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the matcha. If you love a rich, creamy matcha, this is definitely one to try. Es-Yen A classic Thai-style iced coffee made with condensed milk. This was strong, sweet, and definitely had that much-needed wake-me-up effect! The condensed milk gave it a creamy sweetness while still allowing the bold coffee flavor to shine through. It was the perfect balance of sweet and strong exactly what I needed. Buttered & Sweetened Condensed Milk Toast I originally had my eye on the pandan toast, but it's clearly a popular choice because it was already sold out earlier in the day! So I went with the buttered and sweetened condensed milk toast instead, and I'm so glad I did. The toast was crispy on the outside, buttery, warm, and finished with that sweet condensed milk flavor. Every bite practically melted in my mouth. The pandan toast is definitely on my list for next time! My Portland experience was made even better by my stop at Kaleido Coffee. The owners were so sweet and welcoming, taking the time to give me recommendations and making sure everyone was taken care of even during a busy rush. Until next time, Portland!

The shop is situated in an iconic part of NW 21st; it exudes sophisticated and timeless charm. Stepping inside, you see the historical bones of the building laced with modern touches of hip decor and thoughtful design. It's a bit retro and a bit edgy all while being chic, so it's very well aligned with Portland itself. Sit on a live edge bench! Enjoy a marshmallow stick. Stare at the luxurious wallpaper. But don't let these things deter you from the epic coffee experience that awaits you. Subtly smooth, adequately bold and flavors aplenty... all served with a smile. The staff is incredibly friendly. The Loss of a True Neighborhood Anchor…read more For years, this coffee house was the primary reason I loved living in this neighborhood. Under its original stewardship, it provided a rare "third place"--a vital social anchor where writers, neighbors, and local faces created a true sense of home. It was a space where you could spend two hours writing in the morning, knowing the flow would be punctuated by the pleasant interruptions of catching up with familiar locals. When the new ownership took over, I eagerly supported them, hoping that inclusive community spirit would endure. Unfortunately, the culture has shifted toward a rigid, punitive customer service framework that completely lacks the ability to navigate human communication differences or de-escalate sensitive situations. A simple, polite morning request to lower the early morning music unexpectedly scaled into an antagonistic confrontation with young staff. Then, in a subsequent incident, instead of a calm intervention, during a conversation, I was publicly yelled at across a crowded room by another young employee. Their continued rude behavior pushed me past a breaking point out of sheer anxiety, and I uncharacteristically lost my temper, resorted to profanity, and walked out. While I take full ownership of my part--reacting defensively under that immense stress--the owners' ultimate solution was to permanently ban a long-term, 5-plus years loyal patron rather than engage in a mutual conversation about what caused the friction in the first place. For an establishment that projects an image of neighborhood inclusivity, the reality is a stark lack of grace. By prioritizing a punitive model over community care, the new management has hollowed out the very environment that made this place a longtime, beloved local fixture. It is deeply saddening and has been a great upset to lose such a meaningful part of my daily neighborhood routine, but those who value a truly inclusive, understanding neighborhood environment should be aware of how the culture here has fundamentally changed.
