Capo is a Mediterranean fast food style eatery. The menu consists of semi-Med. street food. Yesterday, for the first time, I stopped by there to get a lamb gyros or shawarma to go. It was $15 plus tax. After the first bite, I noticed that the pieces of meat were dry and did not appear to be fresh. It was tasteless and was accompanied by a beet color sauce that was not tasty at all. I returned the food to the restaurant and discussed the problem with person behind the register (probably the owner). He appeared to be upset with my criticisms and returned my money with an attitude. I have a professional/commercial kitchen background and this was not something I was looking for in a restaurant. No matter what type of food, from street food to fancy food, you can make it fresh and tasty. I do not recommend this restaurant to anybody. One star because that is the minimum I can give them. read more

Love the food here - the gyro has marinated onions that are delicious. The lemon fries are soooo good! And the Gyro Salad is big enough for two meals. The service is great and the employees are super nice. Very clean and quick service. read more

Just ok. The Greek rice isn't Greek, and they give you small portions and no pita. Do yourself a favor and go to Cobani in San Mateo. You get twice as much better food for the same price. Included is tons of meat, hummus, a salad, rice, and a large whole pita. read more

Flavors were very good. I wish there was some options when ordering each item instead of putting them in the notes. I had the spitfire chicken plate and rice and was delicious. My daughter had the falafel and rice plate..her falafels were tasty but hard and dry and her rice was also dry. The lemon fries and sauce were delicious. Good customer service !I like their food so I usually oder every other week. Tonight, I ordered Chicken spit fire thinking that the chicken was coming in pieces . It turned out that I ordered the wrong plate. That plate is not with chicken breast, which is what we usually eat. However, I had given special instruction on the order that we needed chicken breast. They missed that. They usually call if they think there is a problem with an order. When I contacted the managers, he offered to deliver us the correct food, but the distance is too far and the time was too late for us. The manager then credited us for the food . I will continue doing business with these guys. I also recommend their food, which is pretty good. read more

I love Mediterranean Food & having worked in both SF & SNVL & SJ, I've tasted alot of various Mediterranean Restaurants. As much I always want to give everyone 5 stars & support local businesses, unfortunately, my Heart didn't go Thumpy-Thump after the first bite. Not much flavor here, I mean maybe that's good for Healthy mind concious People, the more "good stuff" (Real cream sauces like Hummus, Tahini sauces) you put in the Dish for a Mediterranean authentic great taste, the more Calories! Well, I don't really care, if I'm going to eat great tasting Mediterranean Food, I don't want to count Calories. The Falafel, which was a bit on the over done side, to my surprise came with Thousand Island dressing & Not Hummus, To try out the Meats, I got 2 Wraps - Chicken & Beef/Lamb were just okay, was in the dry side, not succulent at all & the sauces it came didn't much flavor. This has to be the worst Mediterranean food I've ever had - if you can call it that. The chicken was dry and somehow bitter. So were the pitas and the salad. The only redeemable thing in the plate was the white rice. The other people in only group had similarly bad experiences with their food. Super yummy and a unique twist on what we usually get as Mediterranean food on the peninsula. We're becoming regulars.

This little gem is a great find and a very welcome addition to a cuisine not readily available. I tried this place after it opened and had a gyro wrap with their thinly sliced lamb and beef filled with fresh veggies and taziki sauce. Now I've had a gyro before but this one was really great! The meat was not greasy but tender and flavorful and the veggies were fresh but the wrap was like a warm soft cloud wrapping it all that tasted like it had just been made. Looking for consistency I stopped in for a "Togo dinner" with my wife and the owner was present and I made reference of my prior meal and complimented him on how great it was. Given our eyes were bigger then our stomachs we went a little crazy and ordered 4 plates, 2 soups and dessert. We saved 2 of the plates that came in convenient containers as did all the items. My wife and I had the beef lamb plate and a falafel plate that included eggplant whereas both had rice and a small salad with a delicious dressing. There were also sauces to apply included that added extra flavor. The meals were outstanding! The soups we chose were a lentil and a garbanzo bean and they were really delicious and full of flavor and I could just order either soup and I'd of been very satisfied. For dessert we got 2 panna cottas with one having a dark delicious chocolate sauce and the other with a lemon olive oil. We saved one for the other meals and tried the chocolate one and it was creamy slightly firm and was phenomenal with the dark rich thin layer of chocolate on the top. SO GOOD!! I don't do many reviews but when a place has such delicious food thats restaurant quality I'd highly recommend them! read more

Got takeout from here and would not go back again. Sumac and Santorini are so much better! Falafel tasted like it was made from a Trader Joe's mix. And the falafel wrap , besides the disappointing falafels, was not vegetarian since they added boiled eggs. I've never seen that in a falafel wrap. Capo is a really outstanding new addition to the Belmont community. My wife and I have, so far,taken out twice and dined on the sidewalk in front, and it was a pleasant and charming experience each time. The place is bright, clean, and inviting. The staff is unfailingly welcoming and cooperative. The food is delicious, as fresh as can be, and the prices are easily affordable. I would recommend anyone try it. I think anyone with an educated palate will find their food a treat. The one thing I hope for is that Capo will eventually expand its menu. As an enthusiast of Greek food, I'd love to see what they might eventually do with moussaka, dolmas and a few other traditional Greek staples. I ordered via Doordash a few items tonight and was so impressed!!! Let's start the review with presentation. The packaging is fantastic, every thing neat and well assembled, in containers that help keep that crispy texture during travel. As for the the food, I ordered the chicken shawarma plate, falafel and the Capo burger pita for my picky son. What I noticed right away was the freshness of the ingredients, crisp lettuce, nice chunks of cucumber and tomatoes, uniformly cut. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had a nice char to it that was great. The falafel were good, I will eat them again BUT they aren't my favorite. They are crispy, not oily and flavorful but a little dry. Only a little though. Maybe it was the batch I got, it happens. The hummus was also great but different than I'm used to. It was thicker, less creamy but the flavor made up for that. Finally, kiddo loved the capo burger pita!! He inhaled it and with the char and smell, I understand why. It looked fantastic. Tasty new spot. Real good calamari, koftedes, panna cotta and baklava. The spitfire beef and lamb is also good, it has a different flavor profile than other places I frequent for gyro. I'll have to try the spitfire chicken and capo burger in the future. All the flavors are very clean. The Greek chickpea soup is also different from other mediterrainean restaurants (broth based rather than a puree). Makes me think these are regional recipes, so that makes them interesting. One other thing I really like about online ordering is that the tax is included in the cost. So if you order something for $12 or $14 that is the total cost before tip! It is nice to have a good, tasty, and reasonably priced restuarant open in Belmont. Let's support them. read more

Belmont needed a solid Mediterranean place and this is it! Mike Gunn of Vivace fame had this place planned out pre-Covid and braved the risk of opening during a pandemic. Good for him and good for us! Our family of four ordered the five-dip spread, chicken pita wraps, beef-lamb pita wraps, and an assortment of greek yogurt panna cottas. Everything was so delicious! The most fluffy, mouth-watering pita you can imagine. All of the dips were remarkable. My fave was the red pepper feta but we loved them all. The wraps were exceptionally flavorful and tender. And the panna cottas were ridiculous, so yummy! We'll be back again this week and regularly thereafter. Can't wait to try to baklava. read more
