Pretty tasty takeout. My husband ordered their calamari po'boy rice bowl through his work and it was pretty unique -- fried calamari sticks, lemon-y rice and pickled veggies. Location is also conveniently in the little town stretch of Belmont near Safeway and the Caltrain station. A little pricey for the portion size so not sure if I'd go out of my way to order and pick up from here, but it has some unique selections for a Mediterranean place. read more

Capo Mediterranean Kitchen is a great new favorite food location. We stumbled upon it driving up Ralston and decided to stop in a few weeks later. They were in the middle of building new seating outside (which I believe is now finished) but had just opened up for indoor dining after the pandemic. The owner and the team greeted us and offered us an indoor table and then helped us figure out our order. We went for both lamb and beef combo and a chicken combo plate. We would consider ourselves Mediterranean food experts, having tried it all over the world. Capo was different. The colors of the hummus were bright (Yes there's literally a purple hummus!). The meats were roasted with some savory spices. And they even brought over a pitcher of chilled, filtered water on the house. We loved it so much, we decided to ask them about their catering menu to use their food as a mainstay for hosting. We have now used them for 2 events for catering and the food keeps getting better. Little things like the Pita Bread being perfectly roasted so that it's fresh and crispy. The feta ranch dressing for their classic salads. The Babaganoush and Tzatziki are super fresh and creamy. Yes, that's it...the texture of their spreads is incredible...And this time we got some really great hot sauce to top off the meats which are naturally already super flavorful, sizzling delights. So, thanks so much to the Capo Team for coming through on the catering for our last event. This was our second time and it keeps getting better. We know you are working hard out there and sometimes may not hear all the feedback, so we're here to say THANK YOU! Please keep doing catering and more people will get to try your food. Another thing to add for everyone is that the appearance of their food is different than most Mediterranean restaurants. We don't know how they do it but everything is so fresh and colorful...and you taste it in their food. One piece of final advice is to not forget to order some extra for after your event so have have some leftovers. Have eaten here a few times. First time got lamb/beef wraps and fries and loved it. For the price point of 12-14 per dish the portion size was sub par. Everyone who ate was still hungry. Food was tasty and delicious but portions for what you get is just not worth it. Next time we went we got the kofte rice plate that tasted like a sweet bbq meatball. It was good though. They changed the type of fries and they were pretty soggy. Also got the chicken rice plate. It was a little greasy and dry unfortunately. In the end the food is hit or miss good one day a little subpar the next. For what you pay, unfortunately just don't know if it's worth it. Capo is everything this area was missing! We finally got it for the first time tonight and it was absolutely amazing! Could not have been more delicious and the inside was so clean and beautiful! Food was on time and still hot when we got home. We got one Spitfire Chicken Pita and one Spitfire Beef & Lamb Pita. Both INCREDIBLE and unique in their own ways. Recently picked up take out and it was okay, nothing to rave about. I had the chicken bowl and cauliflower appetizer. The chicken spitfire bowl was underwhelming, rice was freshly made and good but the chicken didn't have any flavor. No sauces on the side, not sure if you have to ask for any but for once I felt like I needed to add something for flavor. The cauliflower had very little seasoning (nothing what it looked like in pictures or described) and way too oily and overcooked, pretty hard to consume :/ I might return if I'm in a bind and go for something more simple like a shawarma wrap, but wouldn't go out of my way for this place. Absolutely delicious gyros. The beet lebneh is fabulous. The portions are generous - which is good because it's a touch pricey for gyros. But it's worth it! The hummus and baba ghanoush are awesome. Also I highly recommend the tzatziki is perfect on the gyros. read more

We recently held my daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner in the Presidio. Capo was the only restaurant we considered to cater (we live in Belmont and love their food). They graciously agreed to deliver the food and we're so glad they did! They even set up all the chafing dishes and it was ready when our guests arrived. Everything was DELICIOUS and we went back for seconds and thirds. My favorite is the pomegranate meatballs and they didn't disappoint! We love this place!!! The folks who work there are so friendly and kind. The food is AMAZING. As a vegetarian, I get some variation of the falafel- usually the wrap. Get the Hummus on the side and slather it on as you go. My husband gets the chicken wrap or plate. It's all fantastic, you will not be disappointed! Food portions and quality have gone down quite a bit...not what they used to offer. Ordered their spitfire beef/lamb salad and the amount of meat was significantly less than before and a stringier tough consistency. The food was quite good. So why four stars, and not five? Because I ordered spanakopita, harissa cauliflower and a chicken kabob plate, all for carry out. What they put in my bag, as I only discovered when I got home, was a chicken kabob plate and a falafel plate, plus pita bread. I actually checked the dishes against the pictures in the menu and yes, my description of what they gave me is correct. We are not falafel fans. But it is late and I don't want to drive back down.
