If you ever find yourself in Fort Myers and your stomach starts making life decisions for you, do yourself a favor and go to Carbone's Coal Fired Pizza. We were just visiting and randomly ended up here, and honestly... I'm still thinking about that meal like it was a past relationship I'm not over yet. First, the Alfredo pasta with mushrooms. I don't know what they put in that sauce, but I'm convinced there was some kind of Italian wizard involved. Creamy, rich, perfectly cooked -- the kind of pasta that makes you pause mid-bite and question why you ever eat anywhere else. Then came the truffle mushroom pizza, which basically ruined all other pizzas for me moving forward. Crispy coal-fired crust, loaded with flavor, and enough truffle goodness to make you feel slightly fancy while still eating like you haven't seen food in three days. The vibe was awesome -- lively but relaxed, the kind of place where you want to hang out longer than you planned. And the service? Super friendly and on point. No hovering, no disappearing act... just perfect timing. We walked in as visitors and left emotionally attached to the menu. 10/10 would travel back to Fort Myers just to eat here again.

The restaurant has a very obvious theme: Al Capone. They had a $19 lunch special that included an appetizer and main course. We ordered meatballs, garlic bread, baked ziti, and sausage with peppers. The food was good and honestly way too much, so we ended up having dinner from the leftovers later that evening. So why did we pick this restaurant? Well, during renovations they discovered a secret vault under the building that is now covered by a large piece of glass so guests can see it. The building previously operated as a bank, and since Al Capone lived in Miami but spent significant time in Fort Myers, there's speculation that the vault may have been connected to him. Whether that's true or not, it's certainly an interesting quirk that drew me in.

4.0 Stars - Post-Thanksgiving Italian Comfort Done Right Stopped by this cozy Italian spot the day after Thanksgiving, and honestly, it was the perfect choice for a chill evening. We sat outside right by the heaters -- the weather was breezy but super pleasant, and the festive energy from people walking by added such a nice vibe to the whole experience. Margherita Pizza Really delicious and hit all the classic notes. The only thing I wished for was just a touch more moisture -- maybe a drizzle of olive oil on top to elevate the flavor and aroma. Still, the flavor was spot on. Bruschetta Perfectly balanced flavors! Fresh, bright, crunchy -- basically everything you want in a bruschetta. Just a heads-up: don't let it sit too long or you'll lose that amazing crunch. We finished it in seconds like it was an Olympic sport. Bonnie & Clyde Cocktail Loved this one. Balanced, smooth, and paired really well with everything we ordered. Now, service-wise -- they were definitely short-staffed that day, which our server was upfront about. She was literally running around taking care of every table, and honestly doing an amazing job under pressure. Because she communicated it to us, we didn't mind the slower pacing at all. Overall, great ambiance, solid food, and a memorable post-holiday evening. Would happily come back and try more dishes!

    Barely cooked pizza. Terrible.

Got a pizza to go as we were staying walking distance from this place. Roni, mushrooms and extra cheese. The pizza was barely cooked. After traveling all day and starving, this was an enormous disappointment.

We arrived at Capone's around 5pm on a weeknight and had about a 10 minute wait. We sat inside and they have booths & tables. Service was attentive. I ordered the build-your-own pizza with pepperoni and mushroom, it was good, the only thing is if you like sauce, they are very light on the sauce, so you will have to ask for extra! My mom got the gluten free crust and she liked the crust, but just needed more sauce. The Caesar salad was a great portion for sharing and fresh!

So I happened to be in Fort Myers, Florida, and ran across this place. If you all hadn't noticed yet, I absolutely love pizza. This place stood out for its 1920s and 1930s decor and its open dining area. Interestingly enough, it's themed after the gangster Al Capone. In fact, there is memorabilia throughout the establishment, including an example of Al Capone's secret vault in the restaurant's floor. Now on to the food. LAWD HAB MERCY! I've had some excellent pizzas in my time, but this right here was something I can't even describe. I mean, the tomato sauce made my lips quiver. The aroma coming from the pizza makes you want to inhale an entire slice without even taking a bite. To top it off, the staff was absolutely amazing. This place is certainly on my list of places to visit again if I am ever in Fort Myers. You all need to check them out, and when you do, tell 'em Drew sent ya! Y'all be easy now! Drew

Our server Shannon was very nice. We both had strawberry mojitos that tasted great. Build your own pasta is a GREAT deal. Comes with three veggies. Pizza was cooked perfectly crisp. We sat outside in November next to the heat lamps and were very comfortable.

Stopped here in the torrential rain on a trip to Ft. Myers. Got seated right away. What a cool place with all the Capone memorabilia. Loved the little area under the floor. We had Ali as a server. She was awesome! Hubby had ordered wine and I had a beer. She noticed he wasn't drinking his so she asked if he liked it. He said no but he would drink it. She traded it out for a beer. That was so nice and really above and beyond! We ordered the 12" Tommy Gun. It was delicious but really needed a couple more minutes in the oven. We ate it all! We would go back and order pizza well done!

Delicious! This was our first time here, even after 4 years of visiting my parents in the area. It's been on our list, and it won't be our last time! This restaurant group sure knows how to lean into a theme. This one is Al Capone themed, with mobster photos around the place - and even a mob movie playing in the bathrooms! Silly us - we tried to get a table on Art Walk night at 7pm. Ha! We put our name in and had about a 45-minute wait. It was slick putting our name on the waitlist on Yelp though - got to see how many away we were for a better time estimate! Our server was great - though definitely stretched very thin. It was prom night too! It took a loooong time for our drinks and food to come, and we were getting hangry (our own fault). I love that they offer gluten free pizza crust! Theirs is made locally out of yucca, and it was delish. I got the blanco pizza, plus sausage on gluten free and it was awesome. My family got the one with Supreme style toppings and liked it too. Go early, get your name in, and then walk around while you wait!

We got this to go leaving our vacation in Ft Myers as we wanted to try this place the other day but didn't get around to it. I am SO glad we did. This was somehow one of the best pizzas I've had in my entire life. The bruschetta we got was INCREDIBLE so much flavor. It was literally better than any bruschetta we had in a two week trip to Italy. We were very impressed, it was so good I forgot to get a picture of it as we just ate it so quickly. Everything was very fresh. The entrance to the restaurant had two Tommy gun handles which were neat. The service was fast and she was sure to include the extra sides of balsamic we requested with the bruschetta. I wished we lived closer to enjoy this.

Food was good!! Atmosphere is great being able to sit outside on the downtown strip of FTM. The veggie pizza was quite loaded with veggies, but could be cooked longer for the cheese to melt more

    Stuffed Pie
    Mary C.

I am not one for bad reviews but this one is deserved. Our server Bryan was very cold and not friendly! We ordered the stuffed pie, a regular pizza, fried burrata and seafood risotto. The stuffed pie was not edible. When I asked if that was how it was suppose to be they took it away and a manager stopped by. She said it was in fact the way they cook it but the pizza was never returned (we weren't going to eat it) but still and no discount was given. The only reason for the two stars is because the seafood risotto was good. We definitely will be trying other places and will only order their regular coal fired pizza if we return!

What a spot... the food 10/10. I can't stop thinking about the pasta!!! Prices weren't bad at all! The place was BUSY but we got a seat quickly. The waitress was working her butt off I wish I remembered her name but she was amazing and super communicative about being busy. The vibe was cute, the Capone story was fun & the photos around the restaurant were cool. You can sit inside or outside! Don't miss this place when in fort Myers!! Giving it a 4 because we sat right by the "kitchen" bell and it was super loud ringing in my ear the whole time. Not so romantic

The staff, from the hostesses to the waiters, are always kind, professional, and do a great job. I truly have no complaints about the restaurant itself. I'm writing this review because of a very strange experience we had that I feel compelled to share. We had a reservation for my mom's birthday. When we arrived, our table wasn't quite ready because the previous guests were still sitting there after paying their bill. This was absolutely not the restaurant's fault, and we had no issue waiting while the table was being cleared. Another couple came in and was in the same situation, also waiting. There was one open booth, and the host let us know it was reserved by request. Totally fine, no one had an issue with that. Then a third couple arrived, and that booth was assigned to them. While I was simply talking to my mom, the woman from that couple suddenly got in my face and yelled, "We live here!!!" and then walked off to the table. She came off very angry and mean, which completely caught me off guard, as well as the other couple waiting; they were also very taken back. It was such bizarre behavior. The situation had nothing to do with tourists, snowbirds, or who "lives here." We also live here year-round, had a reservation, and weren't upset or making faces, we were just waiting patiently. The entire interaction was confusing and unnecessary. To be clear, this review has nothing to do with the restaurant, which we love and will continue to return to. This is more of a message to that woman, in the off chance she reads this: that was one of the strangest and most uncomfortable interactions I've ever had in a restaurant, and it made absolutely no sense.
