Every bite reminds you why this place has built such a loyal following over the years. We also started with the bruschetta, which was fresh, flavorful, and piled high with tomatoes, parmesan, and balsamic glaze. The atmosphere is one of the reasons I keep coming back. The Fra Diavolo was so overwhelmingly spicy that it was practically inedible, despite us expecting flavorful heat, not something that felt like a punishment challenge. We sent the Fra Diavolo back, and while the rest of the table finished their meals, my nephew sat waiting nearly 45 minutes for a replacement dish that never arrived. The restaurant has a very obvious theme: Al Capone. They had a $19 lunch special that included an appetizer and main course. We ordered meatballs, garlic bread, baked ziti, and sausage with peppers. The food was good and honestly way too much, so we ended up having dinner from the leftovers later that evening. So why did we pick this restaurant? Well, during renovations they discovered a secret vault under the building that is now covered by a large piece of glass so guests can see it. The building previously operated as a bank, and since Al Capone lived in Miami but spent significant time in Fort Myers, there's speculation that the vault may have been connected to him. I ordered the build-your-own pizza with pepperoni and mushroom, it was good, the only thing is if you like sauce, they are very light on the sauce, so you will have to ask for extra! So I happened to be in Fort Myers, Florida, and ran across this place. If you all hadn't noticed yet, I absolutely love pizza. This place stood out for its 1920s and 1930s decor and its open dining area. Interestingly enough, it's themed after the gangster Al Capone. In fact, there is memorabilia throughout the establishment, including an example of Al Capone's secret vault in the restaurant's floor. Now on to the food. LAWD HAB MERCY! I've had some excellent pizzas in my time, but this right here was something I can't even describe. I mean, the tomato sauce made my lips quiver. The aroma coming from the pizza makes you want to inhale an entire slice without even taking a bite. To top it off, the staff was absolutely amazing. Stopped here in the torrential rain on a trip to Ft. Myers. Got seated right away. What a cool place with all the Capone memorabilia. Loved the little area under the floor. We had Ali as a server. She was awesome! Hubby had ordered wine and I had a beer. She noticed he wasn't drinking his so she asked if he liked it. He said no but he would drink it. She traded it out for a beer. That was so nice and really above and beyond! We ordered the 12" Tommy Gun. It was delicious but really needed a couple more minutes in the oven. We ate it all! Delicious! This was our first time here, even after 4 years of visiting my parents in the area. It's been on our list, and it won't be our last time! This restaurant group sure knows how to lean into a theme. This one is Al Capone themed, with mobster photos around the place - and even a mob movie playing in the bathrooms! Silly us - we tried to get a table on Art Walk night at 7pm. Ha! We put our name in and had about a 45-minute wait. It was slick putting our name on the waitlist on Yelp though - got to see how many away we were for a better time estimate! Our server was great - though definitely stretched very thin. It was prom night too! It took a loooong time for our drinks and food to come, and we were getting hangry (our own fault). I love that they offer gluten free pizza crust! Theirs is made locally out of yucca, and it was delish. I got the blanco pizza, plus sausage on gluten free and it was awesome. My family got the one with Supreme style toppings and liked it too. We got this to go leaving our vacation in Ft Myers as we wanted to try this place the other day but didn't get around to it. I am SO glad we did. This was somehow one of the best pizzas I've had in my entire life. The bruschetta we got was INCREDIBLE so much flavor. It was literally better than any bruschetta we had in a two week trip to Italy. We were very impressed, it was so good I forgot to get a picture of it as we just ate it so quickly. Everything was very fresh. The entrance to the restaurant had two Tommy gun handles which were neat. Been going to Capones since 2nd day opened. Always order the incredible coal fired wings. They are incredible and have steered many friends to them over the years. My wife and I decided on lunch there today for the usual. A couple of house salads and an order of the wings. Very disappointed. They were tiny and extremely dried out. I am not one for bad reviews but this one is deserved. Our server Bryan was very cold and not friendly! We ordered the stuffed pie, a regular pizza, fried burrata and seafood risotto. The stuffed pie was not edible. When I asked if that was how it was suppose to be they took it away and a manager stopped by. She said it was in fact the way they cook it but the pizza was never returned (we weren't going to eat it) but still and no discount was given. My husband, myself and kids came here yesterday. We ordered a kids pizza (that was actually very large for a child portion), a calzone and I had the Cajun chicken and shrimp pasta. Unfortunately the pasta was so HOT that it was inedible... BUT as soon as I took a few bites a manager was out and asked me how it was. I was honest and told him that I do like spicy things, but this was too hot to enjoy. He immediately told me he would get me something else or have them remake it, whatever I wanted. I insisted that I would keep it and it was fine! He insisted on taking it off of our bill which wasn't necessary but he did anyways which is why I am still giving 5 stars. Although I couldn't eat my own meal, we had plenty to share and the manager came multiple times to apologize along with the waitress. I ordered the 9" gluten free Gamberetto pizza (Romano, ricotta, & mozzarella base with lobster aioli, shrimp, and roasted garlic topping). The flavor was delicious and although I was hesitant at "lobster aioli", I really enjoyed it. Service was good and food came out in a timely manner! This is a nice downtown location in Fort Myers and there is a lot to look at in this restaurant. The pizza was decent but I cannot remember a more disappointing dining experience in quite some time. We ordered an appetizer about 10-15 minutes before we ordered two pizzas. The manager dropped off our pizzas and we noticed it was ahead of the appetizer and one of the pizzas orders was incorrect. I mentioned we didn't receive our appetizer but to cancel it since it didn't arrive beforehand. A few minutes pass and the manager comes by with the appetizer and says the server forgot to key it in but we could have it. We politely declined. Moments later, out server stopped by and asked how was everything, despite the fact that I was sitting there with an empty glass and no food. We requested more water and refills, and he never returned. When the manager dropped off my pizza, she was nice enough to fill our water and bring refills for the other beverages. When looking around the room and outside area, all of the servers were engaged and hustling a bit. Not Jose. He was unapologetic, extremely inattentive and moving slowly. While every person has an off day, I was disappointed by his unwillingness to improve our experience overall, especially after waiting 45 minutes for a table. For Appetizers we ordered: the Caprese was delicious and wonderful if you are wanting a lighter appetizer on the stomach. Then the Bruschetta which the bread was super light and crisp with the perfect amount of tomatoes and balsamic glaze. And then we ordered the Mama Capone's Meatballs that comes with Romano and Ricotta cheese, which are phenomenal! I literally could just ordered a few of these meatballs to eat by themselves for a mini snack! Cajun Chicken and Shrimp Pasta - this is a wonderful creamy dish, with the perfect amount of spicy zing! Went here last Sunday and it was Such a good pizza! Appetizer platter was really great too, our server was great. Would definitely eat here again. Our only snafu was getting in to the restaurant. There was a line of 5 or so people when we arrived and the hostess seemed completely clueless as to what to do. She ignored the people in line and we saw a few people who came in behind us leave because of it. It appeared she was taking phone orders as well as seating people which might have overwhelmed her? Whatever the issue, we waited around 10 minutes until another hostess came to help her and we were acknowledged and shown to one of the many empty tables, but it is however worth the small wait. Wow! To start the staff was super friendly- it's always a pleasure seeing management on the floor working along side the kitchen and waitstaff! This evening the rain made everything gloomy but the restaurant had a classic mafia style. Our server Kristin was an absolute gem! Confident in the menu and made sure we had our drinks. I have a shellfish allergy and that's a tackle in itself- the kitchen manager ( head chef) made special accommodations to a dish I wanted so that I could throughly enjoy it!
