Flicker lite offers great outside seating right on the water of the inlet. You can even see the fish swimming around right next to you. They also have a pretty good sized menu with decent variety of options. Parking can be a bit of a challenge since the lot next to the building is pretty small and it is a busy part of town being near the beach. The food itself on our visit was a bit bland, but not bad, especially considering the price is pretty good. The service wasn't great, if you are in a hurry or have a schedule to keep, but for us it allowed extra time to soak in the view. read more

We then order their Chicago-style pizza. That pizza was hugh!! And it being Hugh, we took some home. This was our 3rd year coming here, as we go to Gulfstream Horse Races over the bridge. Absolutely unacceptable experience at Capone's Flicker Lite. The restaurant was filthy, the tables were sticky, and the entire atmosphere felt unpleasant and unhygienic. Our waitress brought the check with a QR code and told me to pay using it -- so I did. A minute later, she came back raising her voice, saying I shouldn't have paid that way and that I needed to pay again using the card terminal instead. I asked why she didn't mention that earlier, and she started shouting that the QR system doesn't work and insisted I pay again. I told her calmly that I had already paid and would not pay twice. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, she kept yelling and said she would call the manager -- then simply disappeared and never came back. On my way out, I asked where the manager was. She pointed at someone and told me to "talk to him yourself." I approached the manager and asked if the payment was confirmed -- he said yes. So clearly, they were trying to make me pay twice. I explained that the way their staff communicates with customers is completely unprofessional and that they seriously need customer service training. I told him: "I will never come back to this place again." And right there, he told me to go f* myself.** One of the most disgusting and unprofessional customer service experiences I've ever had. My Moscato, yes I have been in a white wine cake lately, was pretty refreshing. Her Margherita pizza was actually the highlight. The sauce was sweet and it was nicely packed with baby tomatoes and freshly aromatic basil. Since y'all know I like spicy food I asked for a recommendation between the buffalo chicken pizza and the meat lovers pies. The waiter suggested the Buffalo chicken one and after an hour our plates came out. My plate was mostly blue cheese with a few sprinkled pieces of chicken here and there and decent helping a buffalo sauce. There was hardly any chicken to be savored. Thus I left most of it on the serving plate when our waiter manage to come by there was essentially no apology or anything. Notice the pie was not taken as a leftover to go. After two hours, I was ready to take off. I mean, two hours for two smallish pizzas was more than enough. Oh and I didn't even get my water refilled. Thus you can understand why I opted to pay through the QR code and be done. Needless to say as I was walking out our waiter then remembered we had been at his table and went to see if we paid , literally tapped me on the shoulder to see if I paid. Entered the restaurant at 12:05PM and there was not one single customer inside, and there was no one working the huge front bar. There was an employee at the opposite end of the restaurant leaning on the counter who never looked in my direction. I went to use the men's room, and when I came out, there was an employee writing on chalkboards. I told her I was interested in having lunch and would like to start with a beer. She kept writing on the two chalkboards and didn't seem too interested in taking care of me. They have a lot of beers on tap, one of which was Abita, which I'm familiar with since I go to New Orleans at least three times a year. I asked her if it's popular at their establishment, to which she replied, "Why?" Given the overall unwelcoming reception I received, I left. I used to reside less than two miles from this place and hadn't been in about ten years. I was looking forward to having their pizza, and I noticed the man in the kitchen. He looked familiar, meaning I think he's been there a long time. I might come back for dinner if I'm in the area again, as I now reside in east Fort Lauderdale. We were looking for a nice place to enjoy a simple meal near our hotel on a cold January night in Hollywood. Capone's Flicker Lite was within walking distance and appeared to have a nice crowd, so we decided to try it. There was a nice crowd but we were able to get a table right away. They have a nice menu with a good selection of items. Our server a couple beers while we decided on dinner, and soon returned to take our order. Meal service was a little slow, but we soon were served more delicious food than we could eat, followed quickly by a couple more beers. You would have easily received 4 stars, and possibly 5 but for the surprise when I received the credit card receipts. It wasn't until I perused the receipt that I was informed you added a surcharge for the use of credit cards. Yes, I am well aware that you are charged a service fee when I pay with a credit card. That's the way it has been for decades. It's simply one of the many costs of doing business. But I expect to be informed of this upfront, not when I'm signing. That should be noted highly visible somewhere so your guests aren't blindsided later. You proudly let everyone know on your website that they can use credit cards to quickly get their pizza, but there's no mention there about that nasty little surcharge. My wife enjoyed the food so much that she suggested we return the next night. I took a pass on that suggestion because of your policy. read more

Tried to go to Five O'clock Somewhere with a group of 17 and were basically turned away by the rude hostess who didn't seem to want to mess with our group. Turned out to be a great thing though cuz Capone's was amazing. They not only seated our whole group fast but all together and the service was quick and accurate and awesome. I forget our servers name. He he was great. Even took a pic for us. We were there on Saturday February 29th. Had a birthday in the group and they gave us cake and sang. The beach comber drink was fantastic. The garlic rolls were to die for. So garlicky and soaked with a garlic butter sauce. The meat lovers pizza was some of the best pizza we have ever had. My wife and I were excited to go to Capones because she grew up eating here and hadn't been here in a long time. On the way to the restaurant she noticed some unfavorable reviews. We kept this in mind but tried to focus more on her experiences as a kid instead of random posts. We walked into the restaurant without being greeted. Found a table. All tables available had random dishes on them. Dirty or clean? I don't know but a plate with 5 forks on it seems unnecessary. Our waitress came to our table after about five minutes and simply threw the menus on our table, did not say anything. I informed her we planned on putting in an order to go, which I then told her, and she walked away not returning until our food was ready. Another worker came to us after a few more minutes to make sure we got taken care of which we told him we had. We put the order in at 815p and didn't get our food until 9p. Half cheese, half pepperoni, and an order of wings. The restaurants was at less than half capacity, so the amount of time this took seemed a little excessive but it is what it is. When we finally got our food I noticed we got a full pepperoni. Not a huge deal but I wanted to tell the server just so they were aware. Me, "Hey, this isn't a huge deal and we'll take the pizza as is, but this isn't what I ordered. Server, "Ok..what do you want me to do about it?" Me, "Well I'm not sure to be honest, what would you suggest?" Her, "Well it's not like this happens a lot so I don't know. It's not like I messed up your order. So not sure what I can do about it." Me, "Can you let me talk to someone who might have an idea of how to handle this?" Hands me my credit card back and walks off after telling me she won't take my CC. Her responses were rude and unprofessional. Not sure if the way I wrote it out conveys that. After a few more minutes of waiting I go to pay because my wife is ready to go and the server tells me they comp me the pizza. All in all the pizza is decent. Not the best I've ever had. Easy 4.5/10. Sauce is sweet. Pepperonis are small and sparse. Very thin bottom crust and tough outer crust. Wings were ok. Order of medium buff sauce. These were not really sauced though. It was as if they ladled a half scoop of thin hot sauce into the bottom of the to go tray then threw normal cooked wings in there and they blended together during the car ride home. They weren't terrible just not that great. 3/10 for the wings. Ultimately, I won't go to this establishment again and the downfall seems to be the staff more than the food. Best of luck to Capones. I am at least grateful you were able to bring some good memories to my wife when she was a kid! read more

We had an interesting experience. We parked in the diagonal spaces in front of the building. While we waiting for our pizza, a waitress asked what kind of car we had and where we parked. She said that we were fine where we parked. We came out and our car was gone. The restaurant had us towed. After much confusion, they agreed we should not have to pay the tow fee. They said it was fine, only a 7 minute ride away. We pointed out we didn't have our car. They told us to take an Uber. No offer to pay. No return of our car. Finally, Joe offered to pay for the uber. He joked that this wasn't good but not really bad. Haha Thrn he said next time we come in, dinner is on him. They offered us nothing in compensation for this major gaffe and aggravation for us. They didn't offer a drink or comp our meal. Initially, they expected us to pay for the tow and the Uber to get there. They blamed the valet for the tow then blamed the tow company for towing the wrong car Customer service is something they've never heard of. We've been there several times for nostalgic reasons. Wasn't seated 2 minutes and we had menus and water...right after a very friendly greeting. Order taken in 5 minutes. Only delay was our reading the excellent menu. Ordered cold beer, Conch Fritters (11.95, spicy and a bit pricey) and Capones Speciality Pizza large, 19.99, excellent with fresh ingredients. Was even excellent the next day. Through your time there, service was friendly and efficient. Waitress went on break but another one picked right up without a misstep. We will be back! Often. Perfect place for sunset. Then...four days later I realize I left my credit card. One call; answered on the first ring at 8:00 on Friday night. Cheerful voice, efficient request for information, 2 minutes and she assured me it was there and could be picked up at the bar. We felt out of place in the beginning because we are tourists but eventually had a very good conversation with the bartender. This used to be our go-to place to watch Beats and Cubs games but the service is so TERRIBLE and SURLY and UNFRIENDLY that we'll never go back. We used to hang out at the back bar in the Intracoastal when Nicolette worked there but those days unfortunately are long gone. We miss the blackened Mahi fingers and the smoked fish dip but service matters when you're watching the game and willing to tip well.
