Visiting Lake George, i brought someone along to try their food, they did not disappoint. They had a few vegetarian options that I had to try. The pear and watermelon salads were delicious! Perfectly crafted and mixed with a beautiful presentation. The eggplant and vegetable risotto were fantastic. The ingredients all work perfectly together and the portion size is just right. The cheesecake was the best I ever had. If you're in the area, you owe it to yourself to go there and try the food.

Have been here several times and everything is always amazing. The menu changes seasonally, so if you're a creature of habit then this might not be the place for you. The dishes are always creative, dynamic, and delicious. We started with cocktails I had a tomato martini (sounds weird, was incredible) and husband had a manhattan. Appetizers were crab cakes--fresh, crispy. I had the peach glazed pork chop that came with Parmesan risotto and he had the game meat mac and cheese. These are so hard to describe because I'm not a chef but they were phenomenal. The best part was dessert. We had the special--roasted strawberries and strawberry puree, coconut melange, vanilla sorbet with a crunchy coconut cookie and toasted coconut flakes. I kid you not, despite being full, I could have eaten a whole second plate of this. The waiter was friendly and responsive, knowledgeable about the menus. The restaurant is like an upscale cozy vibe. Will continue to come back again and again!!!

Incredible food always. The service is excellent, always very kind, food comes out very fast and the portions are perfect. And cannot stress enough how great the food is each time I come, the chef truly thinks about all the dishes they present.

Not much has changed in ten years, and that is good. Because the things that haven't changed are the friendliness of the hostess and staff, the welcoming feeling, the availability of small and full portion sizes, and still having Ubu on their draft list. It's just difficult to believe that both of our visits were only in 2012. We were quite fortunate on this, once again, non-reservation-visit to not only score the last table available, but for it to be a high-top located at the edge of the kitchen service window, away from all the other diners. Once again, we had a wonderful view into the kitchen, even better than on our first visit, watching the kitchen staff working as a well-coordinated team meeting the demand of the evening's first rush with precision. And all those dishes looked delicious as the servers retrieved them. I started with a Von Trapp Pilsner ($9) from the half-dozen craft brews on draft. It was crisp and clean. My wife ordered a Blackberry Lemonade ($6) from their Mocktails. It was both tart and sweet as advertised, but she was surprised to find it had blueberries in it, even if it did have a blackberry syrup. It still was tasty. Once again, we decided to share a small Salad Special (small portion $12/full portion $23) Mediterranean couscous over spinach with kalamata and Spanish olives, cucumbers, and tomatoes with an Italian vinaigrette and feta cheese. It was refreshing and flavorful. We also shared a small Goat Cheese Encroute(sic.) ($12/$23). The chef obviously took some liberty in describing this dish as Madagascar vanilla & Bing cherry fondue with baguette. It may have met the "fondue" definition by virtue of the goat cheese having to have been melted at some point, and the "encroute" was a coating around the cheese, but it was not the expected pastry coating. But none of that mattered with the first taste. This was an absolutely delicious blend of flavors with our server Jackie explaining that the chocolate flavor we thought we detected was from the caramelization. Moving right along to our entrées, my wife chose the small Seared Sea Scallops ($19/$37) with prosciutto wrapped asparagus, and a sherry butter sauce served with sweet pea mashed potatoes and shaved Grana Padano. Two of the three scallops were cooked perfectly, the smallest of the three was very slightly underdone. Sign of a cautious chef? Overall, a delicious meal. I ordered the small Cabernet Braised Short Ribs ($19/$37). If this was "small" than I can only imagine how hungry a person would have to be to complete a full portion. The piece of short ribs was not only quite plentiful, but it was also very tender and flavorful. The hominy was soft without being mushy, and delicious with the addition of smoked Gouda and apple cider bacon. The crispy potato nest was actually a topping of perfectly crispy, finely seasoned, julienned fries. I barely saved room for dessert. But as Jackie listed the desserts, she mentioned that the chef who had developed the Salad Special that we thought was so outstanding, was also the chef who created the special dessert of the day - Tiramisu. Trusting in this chef's track record for the evening, I ordered the Tiramisu ($10). It was a pleasureful ending to dinner along with a good cup of coffee. My compliments to the chef and the entire staff at Bistro Le Roux.

Went there twice it was excellent. The atmosphere the bar is a lot bigger than I thought it was, but the entrées were delicious.

The person who told us about here said something to the extent of, ignore what the place looks like you will leave satisfied. He was not wrong, did not look like much from the street and the inside had me second guessing. Food was outstanding! I wasn't too hot on my shirley temple but everything else was spot on. Coffee was the best that anyone in the family had all weekend. I enjoyed my chicken parm and not a bite of the four deserts we ordered was left. I'm still full a day later...

5* ambiance 5* service…read more4* decor 4* food We loved that the tables are widely spaced, enabling conversation. A relief from the noisy, crowded restaurants on Broadway in Saratoga Springs. Easy parking in their own parking lot. Entrance is around the side of the building. A sign at the front of the building, telling you to go around to the side door, would be helpful. Server Tifanny is excellent and helpful. Food is fresh; portion sizes large. Reason I gave 4* and not 5* is because I reserve the 5th star for restaurants with "gourmet" or creative recipes that provide a unique experience. Interesting use of herbs and spices in necessary to earn my 5th star. Pear salad with blue cheese is fresh and a great starter. I saw patrons at other tables order the same starter and I recommend it. I requested it with the dressing only on the side. Salad was enjoyable but didn't wow me like some of the salads I had in Saratoga Springs and Glens Falls in the past few days. Baked haddock entree was very filling. I wasn't expecting such a generous piece of fish. Fish was very fresh and well-prepared. The side dishes disappointed me; Mashed potatoes were saltier than I would like and not an exciting side dish. I like to eat healthy, so I prefer quinoa or other whole grain to white potatoes, and if I eat white potatoes, I much prefer roast potatoes to mashed. Spinach is one of my least favorite vegetable but I finished this side dish, so that's a compliment.

I wish I could give this place no stars!!…read more My bf and I stayed at the Georgian over Memorial Day weekend and received two vouchers for a free breakfast. We decided to use them on our last day and what a mistake that was. We walked into the restaurant and it was chaos. People were standing around everywhere looking for some kind of direction from the waitstaff as to where to sit and eventually people just say themselves. We went up to the buffet which had no silverware, a handful of plates left and almost all the trays were without food. We were able to grab a pancake and a bagel and that was it. We tried to get cereal but as we watched people pour it into their hands because there were no bowls we decided against it. The pancakes tasted like they were made days in advance and the bagel was stale. So in addition to the unorganized, chaotic environment the food we got was terrible. We had the same issue last year and I can confidently say I would never return. If you are going to hand out free vouchers, you should be more organized than we experienced two years in a row. I would have rather paid for a decent breakfast than wasted my time here.

The location was ideal - right on the water and near so many cute shops in town. We were a little early for our reservation, so we explored the back for a bit (our reservation was inside). We enjoyed the picturesque landscape and beautiful lights illuminating the yard - this would be a lovely spot for a party or even a small wedding. Inside was also lovely with quaint decor; I particularly loved the simple seasonal hydrangeas on the table. There was a little confusion with our reservation at first, but after sorting that out, we were seated at a comfortable table for our party. Not surprisingly, the menu focuses on seafood and fresh ingredients. We started with the graham cracker encrusted calamari, which was a unique take on a classic dish that worked well! Very crunchy and refreshing. For my entree, I went with the crab-stuffed flounder, which was delightful. I enjoyed the risotto accompanying it and the fresh sauce and arugula. A filling but not stuffing meal that was high quality! Our dining partners all enjoyed their meals as well, focusing mostly on their seafood options. We split a bottle of white wine, which paired nicely with all our entrees and starters. We did not get dessert, and I did not pay for this meal, so I cannot speak to the after dinner menu or the prices. The ambience was excellent and the food was delicious and fresh, so I would definitely return on future visits to Lake George, hopefully sitting outside next time!

I had every expectation that it would the perfect setting for a quiet dinner with a lovely view, exceptional cuisine and attentive service. Unfortunately, for a restaurant of this caliber, they did not meet the mark. Let's start with the good stuff. They have a parking lot which is really appreciated in Bolton Landing, NY. We were warmly greeted at the door and wished Happy Anniversary. We were seated on the porch (our choice of tables because there was only one set of two diners in the restaurant at 6 p.m. on a Sunday night). Off to a good start. I commented about the pretty dress the hostess (at least we assumed she was) who seated us was wearing. A sweet Jamaican gal who goes by "Skinny Girl" offered water and chatted with us (we recognized her Caribbean accent and asked her which Jamaican parish she was from). She was more attentive to us during the evening than our waiter, Owen (he was clearly overwhelmed handling tables on the porch as well as on the patio outside). To his credit, Owen was honest about the crab legs and we were grateful. Service was slow, from drinks to getting the bill. What really rattled our chains is that the hostess in the pretty dress visited diners at every table on the porch - sometimes more than once - except us. We felt ignored. Our drinks were very good. The specialty of the house (a cucumber concoction) was actually the signature drink at our wedding. My husband enjoyed it. My Blood Orange Martini was delicious, albeit $18 which I thought was more like NYC prices. Appetizers were good. I ordered the Escargot which was served on puff pastry with a light cream sauce. Delicious. My husband's Grilled Clams did not look to be grilled at all, and swimming in what appeared to be the same cream sauce as my Escargot which, because he is lactose intolerant, was a concern. My husband's Chef's Choice steak was strip steak, cooked rare as requested, and served over truffle mashed potatoes with asparagus spears on the side. While pricey st $65, he was pleased. I ordered the venison, rare ($41). What was served to me were 2-1/2 small medallions of which two were rare and one was seriously well done (could not eat it). Spinach was on the side. I would have loved some of the yummy truffle mashed potatoes that accompanied my husband's steak. Again, with no one paying attention to us, by the time our waiter came to check on our food, my husband was already finished with his meal. So Owen's offer to return my overcooked venison to the kitchen was not an option. I packed my dinner to go. We asked for an order of churros to share and two coffees (the espresso machine apparently wasn't working). The coffee was old and barely lukewarm. We asked for replacements. One would think that the kitchen staff would try to make up for their two errors and at least provide us with fresh replacements. Nope. They probably microwaved the first two cups. I did not drink mine. This restaurant claims to be rated among the top 100 in the country. We certainly expected better service and care worthy of their New York City prices. I've worked in the hospitality industry for over 40 years and would never disrespect customers like that, especially when they chose my restaurant for a special occasion. So yes, I was disappointed. Would we give Chateau on the Lake another chance? We have so many wonderful choices in Saratoga and Albany (which would have been the same distance). Maybe.
