This morning, my wife was watching a segment on the news of Capriotti's. She mentioned that it looked good and we should go. I told her that I had just read some favorable reviews on Yelp. We entered at ten forty-five and were second in line. The restaurant was crowded but we got a table to sit at. We ordered a sandwich called the Bobbie. The filling consisted of turkey, turkey stuffing, and cranberry. We ordered it without the cranberry. So I don't know if it was sauce or jellied. Also ordered the American Waygu. The Waygu was filled with a decent amount of beef. Lettuce, tomato onion,and cheese round out the filling. Both sandwiches were ordered as half size ( 5 inches ). The buns were fresh, soft to the touch, but held up to the fillings. We had a bowl of clam chowder, I thought it was good. When they called my name, I went to pick up our order. I had my phone in my hand, so I told her that I would take the soup and come back to get the sandwiches. She said she would bring it to our table. Actually she beat me to the table. I've eaten here before and will return for items that I know please me, but today was not a good day. I ordered the Bobbi Thanksgiving sandwich via UberEats (a personal order and self pickup). I explicitly wrote in my order that I'd like the bread to be toasted. I know they can toast the bread as I've had it done before on an in-store order, so thought it would be done here just the same. Well, the bread came un-toasted, which makes me think that attention to detail isn't being paid to these app-based orders, which is a shame. I was very curious to try this shop after seeing that one of their signatures is a cheesesteak. Online ordering is very easy and convenient when you want to order ahead to pick up at a certain time. Pros: Easy to order. The size options are great. I've ordered a small, medium, and a large before, and I can confirm that the large is L-A-R-G-E. It is huge and can easily feed 2 very hungry people or 3 kinda hungry people. I like that their cheesesteak is simple and holds all the ingredients that you would traditionally expect in a Philly. What's great is that you can also easily customize the toppings. For instance, my adult sister eats like a toddler, so she was happy with her cheesesteak sandwich with just meat and cheese, no veggies. I, on the other hand, love a Philly all the way, and even added fried spicy peppers. And both times I ordered, the spicy peppers were actually spicy! Score. Their naked fries are also good. Granted, they are super thin, so if you don't eat them right away, they'll get soggy/hard, but that goes without saying for anything fried. Also delicious is their meatball sub. It's exactly what you would want in a meatball sub. And the meatballs are well-seasoned and the marinara sauce is yumm. Cons: A bit on the pricier side for what you'd traditionally pay for sandwiches, but honestly for the quality it's not a big complaint. Plus, it tastes fresh and the hot options are great. The salad was was a disappointment. Maybe I shouldn't ding them on this, especially since I'm not a huge salad person to begin with, but it was very, very mediocre...like a salad you'd get in a school lunch. Verdict: I would try them. Went back to try the classic Italian sandwich. After ordering there was a little mix up. I asked if the side salad was a pasta salad and the cashier said that they could make that. I ordered a medium Italian sandwich with a drink and side salad. What I got was a very disappointing salad with sprinkled cheese and deli meat. The hot Bobby is the way to go with cranberry sauce on the side so as not to make the bread any soggier. Capastrami is likely their 2nd best sandwich. Their service is friendly and the establishment is clean. Parking is usually not a problem. My one and gripe about the food is the fact that the bread is NEVER toasted enough. Every time I've had any of their sandwiches, the bread has been soft and non-toasted. Even after requesting EXTRA toasted, they all came out non-toasted. This establishment has been open for three months now and is located in Kahala a few doors down from Kahala Market across from Kahala Mall. My son likes subs and wanted to try this place so figured why not since we were in the neighborhood. He ordered the 18" Italian sausage without onions or peppers. Well, it came without onions BUT loaded with peppers so he had to take every piece of pepper out when we came home. I thought it was a bit pricey at $26 since I'm used to buying from that other famous franchise but it is 6" longer also. Much to my surprise, it was loaded with meat, unlike that other previously mentioned famous franchise. They have various other sub selections also. An interesting one was with turkey and cranberries with a dipping sauce. Interesting so I inquired whether they had a French dip since they have roast beef as a selection. They did not. I would hope they might include this in the future. They did give us a sample of their fries which I just say was quite delicious. All in all, my son enjoyed his sub and was quite happy despite having to take out all those peppers. Will I come here more often? Nope, not at this price but I will frequent this establishment as a treat once in a while. Even though there's a lot of meat in the sub, not worth it for me. My husband and I were at Kahala Mall and this place popped up. We're both never one to turn down a nice hot sandwich. We decided to get the hot Bobbie and man was it delicious. The roasted Turkey is honestly what makes this sandwich because it literally tasted like fresh roasted Turkey off the bird at thanksgiving. The stuffing had to be stouffers stuffing, which I personally like but you can tell it isn't homemade. I'm not sure what type of cranberry relish they use but I loved it. It wasn't overly jelly like, like you get from the can. Not sure if you've heard of Publix but it reminds me of their fresh cranberry jelly in the deli department which is some of the best to be honest. We really want to come back and try some more subs. It probably wouldn't get this particular one again because I feel like you have to be craving this or wanting this specific taste but it really was one of the best sandwiches ever. The first time we ordered I chose the The Bobbie, but we also got the pastrami and New York chopped cheese. The Bobbie is a classic after thanksgiving sandwich when you try to get rid of your left overs without having the same "type" of meal. I am a huge fan of canned cranberry and stuffing so this sandwich appealed to me. I am however not a fan of overly turkey tasting leftovers, which this sandwich was not, probably due to very little turkey in it. It tasted predominantly of stuffing and cranberry sauce. A great combo but lacking in substance. The pastrami was not like the classic on rye with sauerkraut and Russian dressing. The bread was over powering to the sandwich and left very little room for the pastrami to shine. The coleslaw reminded me of KFC but with bigger chunks and a bit of Cajun seasoning. My husband liked his New York chopped cheese sandwich because of the chopped beef aspect and it didn't have any bell peppers like a usual Philly cheese steak. The second time we ordered online, I got the impossible cheesesteak. It also failed to deliver a good ratio of bread to toppings. I also noticed their picture has red stuff in it but the description doesn't. The whole sandwich really only tasted like mushrooms which was kind of disappointing. The salad was so sad looking and they provided fat free Italian Ken's dressing packet. It also took three drives there to get our entire order (4 sandwiches, 2 salads, and grilled cheese) right. The first time the manager checked the bag and said all items were accounted for. The second time we were missing a salad and had him check both bags received the first time. The third time it was a missing sandwich. Now this was all done online via my sister and my parents were there to pick it up. But nonetheless, it shouldn't take a manager 3 times to get an order right. I wouldn't want to make an online delivery order if this was the case. I know they are new and still working out the kinks but there are areas for improvement: 1) understand the orders and make sure they are accounted for. 2) get more meat in the sandwiches. 3) get rid of the dense overpowering bread or be more consistent with how they are filled. read more

Maybe a little bready, but that's by taste.... so when you have the fries, all you can do is say "Well, hello there!" It's like you never had a fry before in your life, before you tried one of capriotti's! Let me explain. The fries are thin cut. Imagine a potato wedge cut four times. Not as thin as a potato chip, but not as thick as a pickle slice. So unbelievably good, that I really don't have the words to describe it. Love a good sandwich and when I heard a new shop was opening up in Kahala, I was jumping for joy. At last the Capriotti's chain has arrived in Honolulu. There's a large menu board overhead with a pretty good selection. Luckily, I checked online before I went as sometimes I can take forever to decide what I'd want to try. Decided to go with my sandwich staple. The classic Italian. Comes with salami, prosciutto, capocollo, provolone and lettuce, tomatoes & onions. You can also get it grilled on their hot press. Also, decided to add on a clam chowder just to try their soup. Just fyi, their medium size is pretty much a foot long. Even though I saw the size chart... which I took a photo of, my mind didn't comprehend the size while ordering. Hahaa. Took about 5 mins for my sammy to be made and wrapped. Very quick speaking that they had many online orders being made simultaneously. Verdict... it's a yummy sandwich. Very similar to another fave sandwich shop I go to across the street in the mall, except I love this bread way better. No cornmeal on it if ya know what I mean. Hehe. Bread is super soft and fluffy. The soup was also delicious. Lots of clam pieces in every bite and it's a good size. Also, it comes with a couple of slices of the bread ends. Perfect for dipping. A few of us wanted to try this place so decided to order some lunch. They have an online ordering system and it's really easy to navigate. They several different sizes of sandwiches: half sub (5"), small sub (8"), medium sub (10"), and large sub (18"). We got: New York Chopped cheese - half sub, capastrami- small, and the hot Bobbie - large. I made the order to pick up ASAP. When we got there, it was ready already. Super meaty super good no notes just enjoy. Same situation big filling medium for two dudes. Capastrami sandwich: same medium but a little boring Pastrami is good but not nearly as impressive amount like the other two sandwiches I'm finishing the whole thing on my own right now. Located in the Kahala Market next to Territorial Savings. My wife was talking about this place that makes a turkey sandwich ("The Bobbie") which includes stuffing, cranberries and mayo. The turkey is shredded, not the typical thin deli meat slices. So she ordered a large sandwich of that. She said the meat is cold so next time she'll get it heated. She ate half of the sandwich and saved the other half for our son. My son and I ordered a large "Grilled Italian" sandwich and split it. The sandwich consisted of Genoa salami, capocollo, prosciuttini, provolone cheese, lettuce, onions, tomato, and herb seasoning. I fell in love with it on my first bite. It's because I really enjoyed the flavor of the herb seasoning and the texture of the bun. The bun was soft with a slight chewiness to it. Looking at the picture I took, it doesn't look like there's much meat since most of what you see are the tomatoes with the seasoning sprinkled on it. As you bite-into the sandwich you start to get all the ingredients with each additional bite as you work your way deeper into it. The combination of the herbs, meat, cheese, and chewiness of the bun all just complimented each other- I just can't stop thinking about it. After eating just half the sandwich, it was a bit salty so you may want to order a drink with it. Before placing our order, we were told that it was going to take around 40 minutes - that's good customer service. It was dinner time so we decided to place the order and stay to eat. We placed our order at 7:35pm and got our food around 8:15pm. While waiting for our order, we could see all the orders that were coming out and being prepared. I'd say a good number of them were phone orders. That being said, depending on the time of day (I.e. lunch or dinner), for time efficiency, it might be a good idea to call-in your order ahead of time... just a suggestion. About the sandwich length... While deciding on what size to order, our son said it would be cheaper to order two half sandwiches at $9.99 and it would be cheaper than a whole sandwich at $26.99... right!? Our son is always looking to get the best bang for the buck . However, we had to take a look at the sandwich sizes (see picture) and found that a "half" is 5" vs. a "full" is 18". You get the picture. Suggest you take note of the lengths and prices before placing your order. Their fries are on the flat side and seasoned just right. Wife liked it, son thought it was okay. I thought it was okay but if it came right out of the fryer and was crispy, I'd like it more. Guess what I'm saying is to try it for yourself. My son said he'd rather have Subway Sandwich because it's cheaper and you can customize (ask for more fillings) your sandwich. Remember, he's always looking for the better deal . I knew it was always 3 large sandwiches (priced in Hawaii at $25.84 each) As I was waiting for my box, I come to realize that the catering box is $88.90!!! With tax a whopping $94!!! Now let's do the math on this $26 rounding up for the large Bobbie sandwich, multiplied by 3 (as that is what comes in the large box), That total is $78. The Bobbie in my opinion is the only thing to get here..... and when I asked the manager why the catering box cost 10$ more, she said the box cost 10$!! I've been looking forward to eating from Capriotti's for a while because I love Hoagies and the reviews were very good. My measuring stick for a sandwich deli is the Italian hoagie at Jersey Mike's. So, when I try a new deli I almost always order their Italian and I haven't had a better one yet. The prices at Capriotti's is very good. My sandwich, an Italian w/mayo, mustard extra onions and no vinegar or oil, was big enough to fill anyone up and it was just $14. I ordered takeout and when I opened the sandwich and was pleased that it looked very good, but I did notice that they split the top of the bun which made eating it a little difficult to me. What got me was that the bun was just mediocre and kinda stale. I love sandwiches and I love them even more when they are made with a good bread. I like Jersey Mike's buns better. The sandwich is well made and the protein was surprisingly plentiful. The tomatoes were the thinnest I've ever seen and I barely tasted any onions let alone extra onions that I requested. This place is really good! We had the Italian Sub and the Capastrami fries and both were very tasty. The Italian sub tasted fresh and reminded us a bit of Jersey Mikes which we also like. The medium size was a good size to feed both my boyfriend and I. We were recommended the Capastrami fries which i was a little skeptical about because we don't normally eat pastrami but they were actually delicious. The only thing is I wish there was more of the fries/thin wedges and less of the sauce/topping. Other than that, we will definitely be back to try more sandwiches on the menu! Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful! :) Had to come back a few days later to try the chopped cheese before it's gone and it was so flavorful! I know Capriotti's from the mainland and its a great and simple sandwich/sub place. The place was clean, ordering online through yelp/grubhub was easy and the the service was excellent. I was greeted promptly and didn't have to wait too long for my order to be finished. My only advice is if you're going to have a franchise - please uphold the parent company's standards of quality. I noticed the tomatoes were sliced SO THIN, it was insulting. There wasn't much meat and there was an overabundance of lettuce - like I was eating a lettuce sandwich. Customers notice when you skimp on ingredients and quality so PLEASE PLEASE for the sake of keeping in business, change this. You will not last if you skimp on the meat and other things like tomatoes. Your bread is very good - I assume you're having it shipped in or another bakery is delivering it but its good. This was my first time trying this place My Boyfriend Friends we're talking about this place and recommended that we try them out and dam their Food is Amazing.. Customer Service is Great.. Team Staffs are Awesome... Their Dine in is well presentable & cleanliness.. I thought they had a Special Sauce but they don't. I felt weird asking that question hehe. Ketchup is Good with their Naked Fries. In my Picture My Boyfriend used as the dipping sauce Buttermilk Ranch w/pepper and in his sauce he used BBQ & Buttermilk Ranch w/pepper.
