Had never entered a Capriottis and I liked what I saw. We were in Scottsdale for a few days of vacation and wanted to get some nourishment before a relatively long desert hike, so we stopped for to go food. I ordered a balsamic chicken salad and my other half ordered a wagyu beef sandwich. About thirty minutes later, we ate at the McDowell Trail Head looking at the awesome scenery and having some great food. Food wise, we loved it. Salad was crispy and tasty. Wow! I couldn't believe how friendly the cashier was. She was the cutest cashier I've ever met at a quick-serve restaurant! She even said bye and smiled when we left! If I was single... Lol! In the fall I love turkey, stuffing and cranberry sandwiches but I don't like mayo. The bobbie is good but they consistently put mayo on the sandwich when the order clearly says no mayo. From Chicago, drove by and saw their sign that it was voted the #1 sandwich in the U.S., so I decided to stop by. It is primarily a sub sandwich shop, and in my opinion, it is not better than Subway, Jimmy John's, or Jersey Mike's. I got the classic Italian, which is normally my favorite. The bread (3/5) has sesame seeds on the outside like a Big Mac. The toppings (2.5/5) were underwhelming. I didn't do any modifications, and I prefer Subway, JJ's, and JM's Italian sub. Drinks and chips are standard (3/3). Price is high (2/5), about $15 for 8" sub, medium drink, and chips. I order here a lot and it's always tasty. Tonight was weird. I order on the app because my card wasn't going through online. 45 min before close the lights were off so I was ready to turn around before I saw another customer enter. I always tip even though no service is provided; I order online then walk around to the side of the kitchen to pick up the food and occasionally get a one word greeting. I had to download the app tonight so I guess I forgot because as I was walking out the kid behind the register yells out "no tip" lmao. How embarrassing for all involved. Y'all make $15/hr in high school, not servers working on tips- give me a break! Sadly I won't be back because this is the only location near me. I ordered a medium steak and cheese along with a cup of tomato basil soup. After about 3-4 bites, I started chewing on something very hard! I thought it was part of the $13,000 dental work i Just got done. I ended up pulling out about a 4 inch wire!! I called the restaurant and he ask for my name and phone number and that he would have the manager call me back.. I have Not heard a word! Needless to say, i threw the rest of the sandwich away! So sad to see this! I have always enjoyed Capriottis, especially their "Cheese steak sandwich." Unfortunately, there has been a huge increase in the price of this sandwich (approximately from $22 to $28). Eighteen inches of sandwich cost me $31 plus with taxes. However, the real issue is that the large sandwich had very little steak and lots of bread. We ordered a capastrami sandwich to split. I walked around the restaurant so I could take some pictures, it had award winning sandwiches all over the place. I was excited and couldn't wait to eat my sandwich. What I found out, what was made in Vegas needed to stay in Vegas. The bread was soft and good but it was absolutely tasteless. Stopped by for a quick bite while our car was being serviced at Wal Mart and was pleasantly surprised. While there are more elevated sandwich shops such as Jersey Mikes or Firehouse, I would say Capriotti's does a good job. We shared a medium grilled Italian and got a kids grilled cheese free for our toddler. Both were fresh and tasty. Service was efficient - we made it in just before the lunch crowd. A sign out front alerts that they are seeking help and they could've used more hands to man the crowd...but that seems to be the case for most places these days! read more

The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. My mom loved her tuna sandwich and there was tons of bacon in my BLT! First time at this Capriotti's. Been to the one on Scottsdale Road several times, usually opting for the cheesesteak but I thought I'd try the Capistrami today. My sandwich was built within six mins. It had the same soft, doughy, fresh roll. It was stuffed with hot pastrami, cole slaw, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing. It had great contrasting textures, temps and flavors. The small sandwiches run 8" and are stuffed with plentiful ingredients. This restaurant was in much better shape than the one down south: the restaurant was clean, well lit and the restroom was good, not caveman like the other one. As far as customer service, I feel like respect has to be earned, very "shy" staff it seems, but they did greet at the entrance. Usually go here every other week for the yummy tuna sandwich. I always order it the same way and appreciate the consistency. However, last visit the sandwich had no cheese and no seasoning. It was incredibly bland. So I return with my receipt and let the girl know last time she made it the sandwich was bland because it was missing two key ingredients. No apology, just attitude about how she's not a manager so she cannot discount my order. Anyways after her calling the manager because of my persistence, they offered me a 25% discount which was nice. She asked me if I wanted my sandwich the same way, ringing in my order while looking at my old receipt. This time there was no extra onions!!
