I am very frustrated with this store. I used to love love love Capriottis but the last few times I've been there I've experienced quality and service issues. First, my last three visits they've gotten the order wrong, and it's not like it's been complex orders. I've asked for no pepper and they add pepper. I've asked for hot peppers and they dont add them. Just mistakes that scream they don't care. Second, when we call to explain the wrong order the staff is not apologetic, and only offer for us to return the food and they'll remake the order. They dont even apologize and honestly it's not ideal to drive back out and wait again for another order. Theres no coupon, no concessions. Finally I've also noticed a significant decline in the quality of the bread. It just doesn't seem fresh anymore. I'm honestly saddened by it all. This used to be somewhere I'd go to for party platters that were crowd pleasers! Now I'd be afraid to get a platter for a party from here. read more

I figured that I'd try Capriotti's again after four years and it was even worse. My chicken cheesesteak meat appeared to be hastily chopped chicken breast - chopped into larger fajita-style chunks, not finely chopped - there were chunks of rubbery un-chewable meat- it was so gross. I started getting grossed out by the texture and taste. I scraped the chicken off and tried to feed it to my dog - he didn't want it either. My wife's Italian wasn't like the Italians that made Capriotti's famous in the 80's and 90's. The meat was not high quality - Over $40 for two large subs - and we just threw them away. read more

One of things I miss about living in Delaware is all the great sub shops, and Capriotti's is on the top of my list (sorry, Casapulla's). Give me a slaw-be-joe -- roast beef, provolone, and russian dressing topped with cole slaw -- and chips, and I'm a very happy gal. My family and I also frequently order the classic cheesesteak or chicken cheesesteak, cole turkey, and of course, the Bobbie (thanksgiving on a sub, all year 'round? Yes, please.). This was the first time we've stopped at this particular location, and the first time we placed our order using the app. We were on our way home to Pennsylvania from the shore, and since we had to pass Kirkwood Highway, decided we would stop here to pick up dinner and visit with my parents, who live in Hockessin. We ended up ordering 6 or 7 subs, which we divided among family and friends, all of whom were extremely happy. The app was easy to use, and except for one request for olives, the subs were prepared as requested. The staff here were friendly and quick, which I appreciated because I was hungry! There's not a whole lot of parking at this location, and it can be tricky pulling and and out from Kirkwood Highway, but I'd still stop here again. read more

The chicken was tough and there was hardly any turkey on the bobbi. There was very little contents, it was mostly roll. Could not find the turkey in the sandwich, mostly stuffing. Staff was kind and helpful and the food was good. We had trouble getting the Capriotti's App to work; I was impressed - Staff "Banded Together" & came to my aide. :-) Food was pretty good. I didn't get any funny looks with my unusual requests. They got my sandwich right. The food was good and the soda tasted nice. Sandwiches really pair well with those Herr's Potato Chips. Delicious! We ordered tonite like we have many times. Last time we orders tomato bisque but came home with crab soup. Tonite was just tight right. Except my hoagie which is only turkey provalone Mayo was very skimpy on the turkey side. I've read other reviews and tried to defend but after this I have to agree. The amount of turkey has gone down cause we've ordered her many times and this was the worst experience we've had. The chicken noodle soup for $5.59 was sub par. Today I was dining for lunch with my mom and she ordered the Bobbie sandwich. It was a nice day and it was delicious. Until she started to feel something hard while chewing and almost started to choke. Luckily before it went down her throat, she found a bone. I understand that they are busy, but when you are busy, rather than just looking at the customer like they have five heads and saying "we've been really busy", maybe you should consider giving a more accurate representation of what the wait time would be when the customer calls. If the wait time is more like 40 minutes, say so, instead of saying 15 minutes and having the customer stand there for 25 minutes like an idiot. At first entrance it's your common sandwich shop, but with confusing ordering . Everyone is spinning around between ordering or paying with no designated lines. Menu. The menu is painstakingly plain and small. I thought from the other reviews here I'd atleast see some homeade combinations that sparked my interest. The only homeade sandwiches sounded not good and like thanksgiving leftovers all containing cranberry or stuffing... I ordered the homeade turkey sub and it took 10 to 15 minutes for a cold sub I could of done in 10 seconds when I used to work at Harris teeter sub station. Price looked high, but thought that was just cost adjusted for tax-free Delaware or something. Then the food came out.. The portions are way bigger! The small sub measured over 9".. Got a cheesesteak w provolone, yummily melted, great roll, grilled onions, sweet peppers were grilled too!
