First of all let me say that I'm a fan of Primo Hoagies which is a regular stop for me. The staff at the Kirkwood Highway location are friendly and the hoagies are some of the best around. I have to say however that tonight's Primo size turkey hoagie was a disappointment. Why? Well when I first removed the hoagie from the bag it was noticeably lighter in weight then I'm used to getting. My suspicions were confirmed when I parted the bread and found very little turkey inside. Usually the portion of meat is generous. The decrease in the portion of meat was very noticeable. Lets face it, along with the great bread it's the meat (quality and quantity) that makes a Primo hoagie so special and is what you are paying for. Now this isn't the first time this has happened to me. I wrote a similar review complaining about the same thing happening to me on multiple orders two years ago, and the manager, to his credit, reached out to me showing his concern and telling me every hoagie they craft is weighed to meet a set standard. Following his response to me the portions returned to normal and I was satisfied that is until tonight. Here we go again. . I will continue to place orders, however if I continue to receive the meager portion of meat I received this evening I will probably no longer buy my hoagies at Primo and look for an alternative sandwich maker. I appreciate that the owner responded to my previous review. Obviously the owner cares about Primo, so I ventured back to give it a try after a year. I must say, I was impressed all over again. The three people working there were very professional, efficient and just the kind of people I'd want to hire myself. The location was clean and inviting. I truly appreciate the owner responding. Primo has so much potential and hiring people that want to work and take their job seriously is a huge plus. The food was as good as always. I ordered the Crusher. I plan to go back soon. Called in an order on 1/21/2023 at 3pm and was told it would take 40 minutes to make 3 cold hoagies (2 turkey and 1 roast beef). There was a football game and the 3 ladies working there were obviously overwhelmed which I understand being I own a food business. The issue I have is the language being used while I was waiting ( people are gonna have to F$&@ wait). Furthermore, I got 2 hoagies instead of 3, and the toppings were all wrong. It was a very poor and uncomfortable experience. This store definitely needs better management. I go to a Primo in NJ and its like day and night. read more

They did not answer phone. Someone picked the phone up and just sat it down. As I was sitting there waiting for someone to say hello I heard their phone ring and the same thing. I could hear them not say a word and set the phone down. I will never walk in any of their stores again and hope you do the same to teach them a lesson. What a shame. I really like them. read more

Every cold hoagie i have eaten from here was better than hoagies from nearly every other place I've tried. Their meatball sandwiches are very good too. They now offer curbside, which I have used since COVID started. The sandwich has been ready when I arrived most times, unless they were terribly busy. Even then it didn't take long. Weird first experience. I ordered online which is a pain in the ass. You have to basically start your life over and submit your first born child. My order said pickup at 115pm but I was in the area so I stopped in at 109pm. I figured I'll just wait and it was only two basic subs. When I entered it was three overwhelmed women cussing and bitching about making food and talking about how they should change the wait to 45 min. Ladies this isn't the Olive Garden your putting Mayo on bread.... One of the wenches sauntered over to the counter while another (whilst wearing her food gloves took out the trash then went back to making food w the same gloves). The woman asked the couple ahead of me what they wanted then was my turn. I told her a mobile order by now it's 112pm and she said your time was 115pm I said ok I'll wait 3 min? She sighed and just walked away. Was I supposed to leave the premise for 3 min? A door dash guy came in and they were rude to him as well. Another girl came in and they all came over and said hi and guess they knew her they said what do you want her reply "some food" the cashier "yea you and everyone else here" lady you work at a food place what the hell do you think we all want? Anyway I got my food and went home. The sun was 3/10 at most. The lettuce was brown and soggy, the meat not the best and the bread half stale. WARNING! Ate a sandwich from here the other day and it was the only food I ate that day. A few hours later I woke up in cold sweats and threw up 6 times. Fever still hasn't broke and I have to go to the toilet every few minutes and this is 3 days later. Had to miss work yesterday and today. I work 2 jobs so missing work is a big deal for me. I even emailed Primos and their response was come on in for a free sandwich? I'm disappointed and appalled as I lost a few days of my life to feeling as sick as I've ever felt. Never going back and please be careful when you eat here as I wish this wrath on my worst enemy. Going to head down to the Doc and get blood work done so I can present some of this to DE Dept of Health as I feel Primos has treated me as if it is no big deal. I also had a buddy who got food poisoning from Primos a few weeks ago that I just found out about after telling my story. I use to come here often but not after this. read more

Very disappointing. Placed an order at 12:38 PM said it would be ready in 30 minutes. At 2:15PM Still not ready or started . No apologies were given. I said , you said 30 minutes ". She said , we opened at 11AM . I said I called and spoke to You at -12.38 pm. Okay so we get through that. As I'm watching my food being made the guy making them had his mask down around his chin. The girl took money from a client , answered the phone then picked up our hoagies without changing her gloves. That was it for us. We left. Didn't feel safe to eat the food . With COVOD-19 that scares me . Gloves hold a lot of germs. You touch dirty money ? The owners should have a better trained staff . I really like their hoagies but I want clean /safe. read more

I first stumbled upon this small sub shop on the way home from Ocean City, MD and since that fateful day, my family has stopped here every year when coming home from our beach trip. *For vegetarians: I definitely recommend the Veggie Diablo. Eggplant with sharp provolone, broccoli rabe, and long hot peppers. It's very spicy but deliciously idiosyncratic of mixed flavors and zest. Definitely worth the price. It costs around $6-9 for a foot-long small sub. All the toppings are fresh, including meat and veggies. They sell their own deli meat and make their own sub breads. That's how fresh their subs made. Very friendly and attentive staff; efficient and quick service. The shop located in Wilmington, DE is right near the highway so it's great stop for lunch if you're on the road! read more

Primo really need to work on their timing. I called ahead and ordered and I was told 15-20 minutes, finally got my lunch at 40 minutes for one hogie. I was then late back to work. There is a big difference between 20 and 40 minutes at lunch! Once I got back I found that my sub was full of plastic strings from the lunch meat that never got cut off. I was bringing back a test sub to work to let everyone try, so we could order from here instead of the Cafeteria on site here at the Experimental Station. This is the absolute worse Primo hoagies I've ever been to. The customer service is terrible. Every time I call to place a order I'm put on hold for an extended period of time. The person on the other end is always rude and cutting me off every other sentence. Today they were out of half of their condiments. To add, the staff person ended the call by telling me she needed more time because she was working by herself and hung up the phone rudely. I understand that things can get hectic sometimes but the lackluster customer service is a normal occurrence. This will be the last order I'll be placing. read more

I purchased a voucher for Primo Hoagies that was still in date and valid. I drove 25 minutes to get the food. Upon arrival, I was told they were no longer honoring this voucher, even though it's in date, and their business name is attached to it, and the food was already made. The excuse was that the owner did not know how to remove his business off the voucher website, how incompetent can you be to not know how to deactivate your account? Very poor service if you are willing to sacrifice business with potential new customers. I can't comment on the food because I never actually got it. read more

Why hand out menus to local businesses when you won't deliver below $35. Also, called every day this week and was told can't do delivery for various reasons including short staffed and too busy filling large- I assume more important - corporate orders. That's a poor business model- but I guess that's your problem- not mine. You aren't interested in any new business? That's ok- we will take our small group and work party orders elsewhere. I would rate you all -10 but that isn't a possibility on YELP. As for food- we once about 2 years ago ordered a party platter for $60- what we got was not 60$ worth of food and certainly less than $60 of individual sized hoagies. It was more like $30-40. Placed a large order for delivery and was told that they could accommodate us and would deliver the 17 subs within 30 minutes. However we did receive our cold food after 3 telephonei conversation ,2hrs later,and standing on the corner. If the order could not have been handled properly we would have understood. When the driver finally showed she stated she wasn't familiar with area. Then stated they were really busy. ..... If you choose delivery you are better walking toward that location and meeting the delivery at the door as they walk to the car to deliver it. read more

I've had tuna hoagies from the Ardmore Primos before, but tonight it was just a big soggy mess! The tuna was not made as well, it had too much mayo. When I called to say how unhappy I was they tried to blame me for having sweet peppers and pickles on it! Own it Ardmore Primos, your tuna hoagie sucked today! Ardmore Primos, an acknowledgement and apology would have resolved the situation in less than a minute, instead you tried to make it my fault! Really bad customer service! read more

Food is always great but the wait times are ridiculous. Twice in a week we had issues. First we did call ahead and waited 45 minutes to pick it up then had to wait another 30 minutes to get 2 primo size hoagies. The other frustrating part was people came in and ordered and got their food before us. Also for business our company orders for meetings. Order was called in and we had to wait a long time for the preordered hoagies. The person picking up was offered a discount for the wait time. i love their hoagies, although they are very different from other normal sub shops/deli's but differnt good they give you options on meats and the quality/tastes of cheese you want , if you don't know the difference between an hard or mild cheese they let you sample. They have great sides (pepper shooters for individual servings) they also have deli cuts, home made desserts and salads!.. LOVE IT only negative very limited seating in-house.. read more
