I've been to a Cap't Loui before but this was my first time going to this location near Columbia University and I can't believe I waited so long! I ordered the 1/2 pound headless shrimp and 1/2 pound mussels and it was so delicious! It also came with one potato and one corn on the cob. I loved that the headless shrimp was easy to peel and everything tasted so great! It's a pretty small restaurant with limited seating but we beat the lunch rush and so it was quiet for a bit with only us in the restaurant until more people started trickling in. Unfortunately, they did not have a lunch special menu but the prices are decent for what it is.

Omg love the food here. I had fried calamari and fries, it was amazing. The calamari were so tender and fresh. The fries were cooked just right, have already been back 3 times

Always a great experience here! I ordered the half lbs of clams and head-off shrimp, with a side of favorite - garlic noodles! My partner opted for the fried shrimp, which came with a good portion for the price ice. The person in charge was warm and friendly. We witnessed him chatting with several customers, making everyone feel welcome. The venue was cold.

Very good ,The seafood is delicious and not too expensive. I've eaten at this brand many times at many branches. I recommend it. There's a promotion on Thursdays, which is good.

I have passed this place quite a few times over the past few years and was like let's check it out. I'm glad that my impulsive side won out. From start to finish everything was pretty fantastic. Our hostess/waitress was pretty much on top of everything, and we did not have to wait more than 2 minutes for anything. Overall, the food (and drinks) were pretty fabulous. My partner and I went with the two pick boil (shrimp and mussels) plus sausage. Shortly after digging into the bag, I wished that we added one more crustacean to the mix. While the two pic boil was enough, I think that I was being greedy with the consideration of adding one more seafood item to the bag. We did add an order of fried calamari to our feast, but it did not compare to the seafood boil. Looking forward to visiting again.

Great place. And amazing staff they're super attentive. The food was great. My only wish is that they put more sauce inside the bag. Also I ordered a lemonade drink and it had no flavor. it tasted like watered down lemonade :( Overall great place for some seafood boil.

We ordered a few things here via ubereats for dinner the other day: the fried shrimp basket (came with fries), and sides of garlic noodles and coleslaw. We were impressed by how crispy the fries were even though they were delivered and the noodles were very flavorful (not to mention that they were a relatively unique side to offer in the first place). We wished that there had been a few more shrimp in the basket serving, and that they had been dipped in a thicker batter (may be just a personal preference though), but overall we really enjoyed our meal from here!

Got the fisherman platter with soft shell crab and seafood boil with shrimp, sausage, corn, and potato. The soft shell crab was 3 LARGE whole crabs and was so hot and crispy. Loved seasoned Cajun fries, too! Seafood boil was pretty tasty and 2 pounds was enough for two. And the funnel cake fries and delicious! Great pricing and service, will def be back!

    Yes.

We almost wouldn't have been able to go because I waited until that day to make reservations and it seemed like they were all booked up. But luckily, my boyfriend had a great idea to call to see if anything was available. Although I was only communicating with an automated system/ai rep, it was able to find reservations for 1:45. We took it and it was worth the wait! This is a very cute spot in Tribeca. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted, checked in for our reservation and seated immediately. Walking up, there is a little outdoor covered seating section that is set on the street next to the sidewalk. Inside, there was a jazz trio performing to the right when you first walk in. As we headed and got to our seats, we saw that behind the bar/counter seating they had the flattop cooking station so you could see the chefs preparing all the food; the bar was also in that area. We knew beforehand about the unlimited drinks option so we of course went with that - $36/person and had like 4 different brunch drink options you can rotate through over the 90 minutes. Our server came over pretty quickly to introduce herself and get our initial order. I was hoping to try out the Biscuits & Cajun Crab Gravy but they ran out of biscuits, so I ended up ordering the Chicken & Beignets instead. Boyfriend went with the Shrimp and Tasso Country Grits. Omg... Everything was delicious! Chicken had the perfect crisp and cook, beignets baked just right so they were soft and well complimented with the blueberry compote. And I had a bit of the grits - so creamy, perfect texture with a unique yet satisfying flavor with the sauce. Could kind of taste the coffee but also felt like there was something like a hint of curry or something in that red sauce - it was very good! Highly recommend checking this place out (make reservations for the weekend!). Because there are more things on this menu we would want to try, we said we have to try to come back very soon

If you're a huge Boiling Crab fan from the West Coast, then this will be your equivalent on the East Coast. You can't come to this place if you don't like seafood, don't even try. When I have a hankering for shrimp or crab (or crawfish if it's in season), you'll find me here happily sucking on some tasty critters slathered in the Boil Special sauce with just the right amount of heat and washing it down with an ice cold beer. My favorite combo is the Queen Combo which is either 1 pound of shrimp or crawfish with a cluster of snow crab legs. One of these days I'm going to splurge for the king crab legs but last time I went, they were sold out. Those suckers are huge! For your sides, make sure to get an order of the Cajun fries which you can use to dip in all that tasty sauce. I also get an order of the vermicelli noodles which I know is way too much food, but I don't care. I will literally use my hands and fingers to plop those noodles into the bag, and use my fork to twirl it on up into my mouth slathered in sauce. I'm at The Boil to be a glutton, not a saint. Please be warned that their sauce has so much garlic in it that you will be burping, sweating, and literally farting garlic for the next 24 hours. Would not advise this place as a first date, maybe not even a 5th or 10th but they gotta see that side of you eventually but do so at your own risk. It's funny I remember the original location on the LES years ago and it was always a long wait to get into. With this NOHO location there's more than enough space, and you can also make reservations ahead of time which I am a huge fan of. The only downside though is that it's cash only, but the other locations aren't. Oh and they have Happy Hour! Huzzah. From open to 6:30pm Monday through Friday you can get specials on raw oysters, clams, select beers, and $12 margaritas. Come hungry, leave garlicky.

From the moment I…read morewalked in, the room struck that elusive balance New York diners crave laid-back but buzzing, with a live band lending just enough rhythm to keep the energy lifted without overwhelming the table. The service matched the mood: polished, attentive, and genuinely warm, the kind that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit. The menu reads like a love letter to Creole indulgence, and I didn't hold back. The French toast arrived as a golden, impossibly soft, and rich with butter, dissolving on contact like a sweet airy cloud. It's the sort of dish that makes you briefly consider abandoning decorum and slipping into the kitchen to kiss the chef. Equally compelling were the grilled oysters and shrimp skewers, both deeply seasoned and cooked with precision. The oysters carried a smoky char that played beautifully against their natural brininess, while the shrimp snapped with freshness and spice. The crawfish Benedict followed suit, offering a clever twist on the classic: a perfectly poached egg perched atop a tender crawfish patty, all brought together by a hollandaise that felt distinctive without trying too hard silky, slightly tangy, and memorable. And then there are the mimosas; bright, balanced, and flowing freely thanks to a server who never let a glass sit empty for long. In a city overflowing with brunch contenders, this spot manages to stand out. It's confident without being flashy, indulgent without being excessive, and absolutely worth a visit.

Great brunch! Food-…read morefood was good portion sizes, super flavorful, presented well, and so tasty. Drink- nice variety of cocktails. We got bottomless mimosas. Space- makes you feel like you're in NOLA. Flowers, colorful, open, nice decor. Service- they were severely understaffed but our server was friendly and attentive. We could just see him running around servicing waaay too many tables. Music- the band was so much fun. Talented, personable, and the perfect amount of entertainment and background music. Really created a fun atmosphere.

After the longest debate and with no other option close by, my colleague and I finally decided to…read moregive them a try since the reviews seemed promising. I ordered the 1lb shrimp, head on, mild garlic butter while my colleague ordered the 1lb crawfish, spicy juicy. I liked how it came in buckets. Too bad they only gave us one pair of gloves though. At our office, we work through lunch instead of having a set lunch break so that becomes twice as inconvenient. I have always been loyal to the garlic butter regardless of where I go so I did not know what to expect when I got a taste of my colleague's sauce. It was sour, spicy, salty, a lot going on at once. It was not bad but it was not my cup of tea. My own sauce on the other hand, was only flavored by salt and garlic. There was no butter flavor going on at all. Kind of disappointing. I really appreciated the amount of garlic though. My bucket was interesting because I found that my middle layer of shrimp had the same sauce as my coworker. Overall flavor profile was just salty though. They put way too much salt. As for the seafood itself, I would say it was ok. There was only a handful that did not seem all too fresh. The rest was alright. Would I order from them again? Sure. But only when I'm really craving seafood boil with no time to travel the distance for something else.

    Shrimp (no shell) - 1 lb -
More like 0.8 lb. We peel the shrimp ourselves. The lack of shell (and water between meat) reduces the weight
