The food was delicious the service was great!! I was at a birthday dinner for my sister so I brought my daughter but the setting was so intimate that when she acted out it made feel a little bashful but no one complained she got crayons I walked her outside and she was fine other than that great place to go with friends or on a date. read more

Don't get me wrong, the food is always damn good, but the customer service could definitely use an upgrade. Simple requests went denied with mo explanation. I'll def rethink coming back ‍ read more

My family is from Texas/Louisiana and this place has the best boil I've found in the city- definitely the real thing! The Louisiana sauce is Spicy and full of flavor as it should be. Try the boil with shrimp, corn, potatoes and sausage added for a real crawfish boil experience- although it's pretty pricey it's worth a try. read more

Ordered delivery and never received my order. I called the restaurant to find out the status of the order and the "manager" was of no help. He could not figure out where our food was or what he could do to resolve the issue. He said he would offer a full refund, but when asked how he was going to do that and when it would go through, he said he didn't know. No apologies, no offer to send out the order again, nothing. read more

Cap't Loui - THE CLOUDYYYY CUP OF WATER THEY SERVED MEEE - Cajun/Creole Near Me - New York, New York

Live in the neighborhood and wanted to try this restaurant. Seated and waited on very soon given it was a Saturday night. One of us had shrimp boil with Louisiana sauce and the other crayfish boil. Both were smothered in oil which I didn't anticipate. Fries came with two boils but we're nothing special. Ordered a side of sausage which was warm, not hot, as were boils. Sausage was a small portion. Overall, I can make better, less oily, shrimp or crayfish boil at home. Doubt I will be back. read more

It was great went here with my parents. We were in the area looking for something to eat and found this place. I had the crawfish, mom had the lobster, and dad an array of fried fish. We all liked our food. read more

I recently went to Capt Loui restaurant. Upon getting seated, I noticed that the table next to us had a dog. The issue wasn't the dog being there but the hygiene afterward. The dog was moving around the table and on the floor. I also noticed that there was a wee-wee pad on the floor between the table and the bar. I informed the manager about the wee-wee pad and he disposed of it in a garbage behind the bar. I asked to switch our table because of the dog and the waiter wasn't happy to so. Also the meal came in parts and my food got cold waiting for the full order to come. I was not pleased with this visit. read more

I love it. The lobster was amazing. Dtess in layers, and come ready to eat. Also our waiter Will was awesome.

I am a Harlem native. I am also a seafood connoisseur. Therefore, I know the value of good seafood. This restaurant just opened in Harlem recently, and I walked past it a few times and finally decided to try it. I was greeted when I walked in by a nice gentleman who answered my questions about the food. I love snow crab legs and I noticed the $30 hefty price tag and inquired about how many clusters I would receive for that price. He told me 1 pound, which to my knowledge, should be 2 clusters. I ordered the crab legs and mussels with the Louisiana sauce and garlic noodles. I took my food to go and when I got home and opened the bag I was shocked and appalled. Firstly, the snow crab was one small cluster definitely not weighing anywhere near one pound. The noodles had no garlic or flavoring whatsoever and were clumped together. I had to cut through them with a knife. Everything was covered with an absurd amount of garlic and oil. I attempted to eat it but the taste of garlic was so overpowering that I was unable to eat more than 3 bites. I could not believe I was charged over $45 for this disgusting food. I went back with my receipt to complain and the manager had a horrible attitude and refused to do anything for me. Claiming no one else ever complained. I am a customer service professional and you are supposed to treat all customers with the utmost of respect and at the very least offer some form of compensation when they are unsatisfied with what you have provided them. He gave me nothing, not even a simple apology. I will never and I mean never spend my hard earned money in this place. I suggest you do not either. There are much better seafood places in the area which give you much more for your money and the food is actually edible and tastes good. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the mussels were large, nicely sized. But didn't matter because the garlic rendered them inedible. Please don't let what happened to me happen to you. GO SOMEPLACE ELSE! read more

Great flavoring!! The Louisiana seasoning is to die for. My friends and I really enjoyed our dinner.

The food wasn't well seasoned and the owner refused any kind of discount or refund. Never again.

About the same as Crab Shake. At least we were warned that they would not e responsible for the taste without the sauce. However, at least they are better than the large "seafood" chain restaurant on 125 Street. Better here that there! read more

Terrific sea food boil and fry. Portions are reasonable. Love how they serve the boil in a plastic bag with a piece of corn and potato, with plastic gloves and a bucket for waste. It's kischy and silly but kinda fun. Medium is medium and hot is hot. The fried fish was generous and delicious. Another nice touch is lemon wedges and mouthwash in the bathroom. Really nice place where the owner takes a personal interest in the customers. Great food at reasonable prices (for seafood). read more

Great Food.... had crawfish for the first time and it was great. Love how flavorful the food was. I'll be back

It's a very popular restaurant, with great service. We ordered a "boiler combo" of lobster, shrimp, mussels and king crab that came in a plastic bag. The waitress shook it up to distribute the wonderful lemon-pepper sauce before putting the sack of tasty food on our table. Then we all worked hard to pry the food out of the shells. In short, too little food for so much work. read more

I was very excited to see that Harlem had a seafood option and since the restaurant is very new (and I'm a New Orleans native) I couldn't wait to try it. I went on a Sunday evening and because the restaurant is so new it was completely empty. The decor/set up definitely reminds me of the other peel & eat seafood restaurants in the city. I ordered shrimp and crawfish with corn, potatoes, and sausage, which was more than enough for my friend and I. We got the Louisiana sauce at the HOT spice level. Overall the taste was good. When we ordered I asked our waitress the taste difference between crawfish and LIVE crawfish (as theBoil only serves one kind) and she said it was the same. It wasn't. Not ordering the live crawfish was the biggest mistake. The crawfish was mealy, and WAY overcooked. The shrimp were really good and I liked the sauce and sides. One downside is that about halfway through the meal, I realized the Louisiana sauce has some kind of sugar in it and the more you eat the more you taste it. When I asked the waitress about it, there was no helpful answer to what it was, but warning all my sugar-conscious folks that the sauce is definitely sweet. Overall I enjoyed the experience, and would go back again in a month or so. I didn't ask if they had plans of getting a liquor license (there is a bar w/just canned soda options), so if you want libations you should grab a drink at a bar nearby. read more

I can't believe this is next door to me. I will be digging my claws into a bag of succulent shellfish on the regular!!! The Louisiana sauce is to die for!!!! read more

I recently visited the Broadway location. Excited to taste something different and what I got was a bag of melted butter and seasonings which looked and tasted bad. The lemon pepper sauce was terrible, it tasted like the seasoning that you get in a packet of Raman noodles. For the price that I've paid, I would have been better off going to the supermarket and buying Raman noodles (3 for a dollar) and enjoyed it more. So I'm only giving one star because the best part of my visit was leaving. Oh no it was seeing the lemon wedges in the bathroom for hand cleaning purposes. I do not plan on visiting or even recommending their food. No real flavor. SMH. read more

the cajun fries was dry!!! my sister ate a fry and choked and had to go to the e.r. make the fries less dry .

Probably one of the best seafood boil places I've been to! Their Louisiana sauce is amazing!!!

I've never been to the restaurant so this review is based solely on delivery experience. The delivery is usually pretty quick and the food well packaged. The delivery person has also always been friendly. The food is consistently good. You get a lot of protein for the price point. I'm always stuffed and if I order a side I'm not usually able to finish everything. I'm glad they have made regular noodles and option instead of only garlic noodles. The garlic noodles are delicious but you will be tasting garlic through the next day no matter how many times you brush. I took one star away because I wish I could have a veggie choice for the side (broccoli anyone?) Instead of only heavy carb sides. read more

Food was flavorful but service was terrible and we left hungry! We walked in and were told the wait would be 10-15 minutes. We asked if we could sit at the bar and were told we could. We sat at the bar for at least 15 minutes and were never asked if we wanted a drink. We finally got a table and sat there for at least ten minutes before we finally flagged someone down and asked if we could order drinks. We were honestly ready to just walk out but the food smelled good so we stayed. We finally ordered our food and got it. We ordered a fried shrimp basket to share. That tasted great. The cajun fries that came with it were very flavorful. Three of us ordered the snow crab legs (for about 25 bucks each). The snow crabs were the smallest I have ever seen. We got one crab each. She told us it came w/ corn and potato. There was LITERALLY half a potato in each of our bags and half (maybe even a third) of a corn on the cob. Again, the flavor was great but to put just half a potato and half a corn is offensive. Potatoes are CHEAP! The least they can do is put a couple in there! read more

The damn service omg the server jigme forgets your order even if he writes it down. The manager does not care. He only cares about getting people seated and hosting. Customer issues he is not concerned about. Also If you ever get Jigme please just ask for another server. The service there made me so upset. I couldn't even believe management. Being a manager at a restaurant myself for four years . read more

The food was pretty good, however, I didn't eat because it was incredibly spicy and I didn't know it would be coming that way and I felt bad asking them to do another one. Then the service took forever, our drinks literally sat there until they bought to our table like 15-20 minutes later. The food also took a while, which isn't that bad I understand they were preparing and making sure it was done well. However, my friend couldn't eat anything because she's allergic to shellfish and when she ordered the wings they said they were unable to cook it in a separate oil and the only desert they offer wasn't even available. Lastly, my friends and I were told that we had to split the bill in two cards, which they know is illegal because even the owner/manager said it that they had to take that sign down because it's illegal to tell customers to do and accepting a minimum when purchasing anything. Just because the staff was nice does not mean the service was great. read more

Expensive, but good. It's overpriced for the quantity and quality of food. I would go again though now that I know what price range to expect! The Louisiana sauce is great! read more

If I could give no stars I would. I went to Cap't Loui Friday to celebrate my birthday, with 11 of my co-workers. The establishment knew we were coming because I called on Thursday to make reservations for 12 people at 4:45 pm and they said they would be able to accommodate my party. Once me and my party arrived the workers looked at us and started frowning and talking in their language. That didn't bother me, I still wanted to stay because it was my birthday, and that's what I wanted. Mind you, we were all teachers and we were very respectful when we arrived. Our tables wasn't fixed and the waitress that greeted us had an attitude. Finally they fixed our table after waiting 10 minutes, but they told me to be on time and I was. After waiting 10 minutes to be seated the manager comes out and asked me would I like to separate the bill I said no. He wanted to separate the bill so me and my party would have to pay 20% twice. The manager and the staff kept looking at us with frowns on their faces, pointing at us and whispering about us. It got to the point where I was uncomfortable and refused to eat there, so me and my guess left. I was hurt and upset on my birthday because of the way we were treated. I went to El Porton Bar Resturant that treated me and my guess very well. I would never go to this establishment again. Spend your money somewhere else because these people don't care about us. No matter how much money you make or what your title is; these people will never like us or respect us. read more

The food was good but the customer service was terrible. We ordered the pick two and a side of Cajun fries. However, it took forever for us to get our fries. By the time we got the fries they were cold. The manager replace them but it's still unacceptable, especially since they charge more than other seafood place in the area. The restaurant felt understaffed. read more

Cheap and affordable place for great quality food. Friendly waitresses and staff. Very clean high class looking place.

Loui Loui is one of my favorite restaurants to eat at HOWEVER I've visited a new location in Harlem NY (3147 broadway) . I was very disappointed with my experience at this particular location. I was not greeted at the door and sat myself down after being told i can seat myself. My waiter was very nice but not on top of his job as far as being a good server . I ordered snow crabs and shrimp with loui mild sauce with a side of fries . My friend order the exact same. My fries came out first with no utensils set on the table . As i waited for the rest of the order they got cold . Next my crabs and shrimp was brought out . I explained to my waiter that my sauce was very bland and watery and he told me that's the way the kitchen made it . I showed him the difference between my sauce and my friends sauce and he called the manager over. When the manager came to my table he asked what was the problem and i politely explained that i am very familiar with the restaurant but new to the location and the sauce was not normal and also showed him the difference. He then asked what did i want him to do in a nonchalant way and i asked if he can ask the kitchen for more sauce ( thicker sauce as my friends sauce was) . Exactly 7 minutes passed as i waited. I seen the cook go out of the restaurant and into the basement . I walked over to the manager and asked what was taking so long for sauce because my food was getting cold and he told me they had ran out of sauce in the kitchen. SELF EXPLANATORY as to why I'd have watery sauce. I then told him i would like to cancel my to go order and I no longer wanted what was brought out to me because it was cold very politely. He tried giving me a hard time but came to an agreement. I told my waiter he could still charge me for my beverage. Suggested gratuity was $2.00 but I tipped 9 . As my friend and i walked out the restaurant and got into my car to drive off i seen the manager run out looking for someone. I stepped back out my car and asked if it was me he was looking for . He said yes your bill was not paid. I went back inside to see what the issue was and my waiter have given me two separate checks in one book that i was not aware of bc i did not recall asking for two separate checks . He told me he had gotten it confused when i told him to still charge me for my bev. With this being said i will NEVER come back to this location to feel as if i tried to walk out on a bill and chased and have to eat food that was not properly made the correct way. I will continue to go to Loui Loui in Fortlee NJ. read more

The crawfish are well seasoned here - they're generous with the garlic and spices, and it's a flavorful experience. I had the live crawfish with butter, which I'd definitely recommend. The crab is quite expensive. I believe the cheapest option for a crab boil was $29 a pound, which seemed a bit much. We also ordered the jambalaya, which was good but quite undersalted. They also don't have salt for the table - you have to ask. I'm told the fried oysters were good, and the cajun fries were well seasoned. The food does come out really hot. read more

Love the food. The service however leaves MUCH to be desired. They are always slow and understaffed. They need more wait staff. But the food is great, so I always go when I'm not in a hurry. Please improve your customer service! read more

If you are going to splurge I wouldn't recommend going here, if you want flies as your table guests while you eat, this is the place to go. The food is bland unless you ask for extra sauce but that will cost you, even when they haven't seasoned it well to start with. I'm disappointed in my experience from our waitress, undeveloped flavors that was presented and the boiler bags we got, the waitress spilled some on us as she opened the bag. There goes that dress. So sad, I thought this would be a nice spot for Harlem but it's a disappointment. The only thing that was good was the fish from the fish and chips as an appetizer. read more

We have heard so much talk about Cap't Loui/Loui Loui. Seafood Restaurant in Manhattan. Finally got to visit today 7/13/19. This is a small cramped, very loud establishment with approximately 20-25 very small tables. Customers are actually sitting so close to other customers, you would think that you were all together as a group. We ordered the shrimp and oyster baskets, both were tasty. Crab legs on the other hand were not fresh, or had been frozen for a very long time before cooking and the sauce was very, very salty. We could not crack open the crab legs (not firm), and there were no tools given to assist with that. Maybe a pair of scissors would help. Although there are plenty of napkins, hand wipes are not distributed and would have been a plus. The waiters were very nice and accommodating. If you drink, drink beer or wine. The bartender does not know how to make a decent mixed drink. The waiters were very nice and accommodating. However, that does not compensate for the issues that I have raised. I know that I am only one person, but this restaurant should make some changes to better their business. I really can find better food elsewhere. read more

Never again!!!! I was excited to learn about a crab house walking distance from me so I was looking forward to this becoming my new spot. It was empty for a late Friday afternoon but I actually prefer that however I'm wondering now, if this was a sign... My order: snow crab legs & garlic noodles, simple and easy. My crab legs came in that damn plastic which makes getting to your food more difficult & messy than it needs to be but I fight thru that frustration with most of these crab houses in this area (no one is serving it like that in the south)... but when I picked up my bag to start digging, what I got was 2 busted up clusters, one with 2 legs and the other with 3, so basically it was one freaking claw when you add up the legs. They put 2 claws in there so that visually you will think you're getting more but ain't no damn legs on them. I called the waiter over & asked if they normally served broken up crab legs? She replied that the orders are "portioned" my question is portioned for whom a 3 yr old??? So I asked how they determine portions and she couldn't explain so to help her out I asked whether the order is weighed, she agreed with that and stated that the order of snow crabs is "just under a pound" so I had to ask, what does under a pound mean? Is it a half pound, quarter pound, 13 ounces, what the funk does that mean?? She couldn't specify the weight she kept repeating under a pound. Now how fugging arbitrary is that??!!! I've never been to a Cajun seafood boil that gives you less than a pound of crab legs, that's just freaking ridiculous!!! They are charging $25.95 for raggedy broken up crab legs, it was the most pathetic portion I have ever been served. I don't care how close they are to home ain't no way I will ever step foot in this place again serving sample portions like this. I've never been served broken claws like this I'm just disgusted. The reviews on Seamless were poor but I gave it a shot anyway. While I was fuming over my order, I heard a guy at the bar asking about the menu & he asked how many shrimp came with the combo- they told him 2 for $12 and he barked lol... So this is their MO- skimpy portions at full price... FOH!!! I will keep going to Clawdaddys or the Boil where the portions make sense... over priced small servings &oily azz sauce anyway read more
