Normally we really like this place but today we stopped in just for a few drinks no food. We were billed twice as much as our friends for the same amount of drinks. Loved that we could take our dog, you can take them in the main outside area but you can in the row of tables that are a few feet away. We had a very friendly and attentive server. I had crab legs, they were good, not large but fresh. My h had the seafood boil, it had a bit too much old bay, it was a huge portion. This is in the old Captain Poo's Bar & Grill and only has been open for 3 days. Sits on the intracoastal waterway. Sat in the outdoor bar which had the plastic walls down. Ordered the Oyster Po'boy with onion rings. Service was fast, attentive and polite. Food arrived very quickly. Po'boy consisted of a hearty approximately 10" hoagie roll with 2 slices of tomatoes and crispy lettuce leaf that covered the length of the roll. There were about a dozen perfectly cooked oysters. Onion rings were very good and about 8 of them. from what I saw there was 3 drafts and long list of bottled beer. also have wine and full bar. There are also picnic tables right along the waterway as well as an inside dining room. Will return read more

Been twice. First time was great, service, food wait staff. Probably the best fried seafood around. Unfortunately the oysters had some fried Saran Wrap with it, but they were so good I let it go. My side Salad had a hair in it, but I figured It was the waitresses so I let it go. Waitress was great Second time was late lunch and the service was awful. Granted we just got off the boat, docked on their dock, after six hours on the ocean, sweaty and tired. Ordered the same thing, flounder and oysters with a side salad vs fries. Never got the salad, oh well. DH got shrimp and oysters and enjoyed. Service was not so good, had to get another server to find our server. On 5-28-20 one of the kitchen workers tested positive for Covid 19.The management decided to tell the rest of the kitchen staff to stay home for a little while and the managers would take over the kitchen duties and tell the bartenders,servers, and general public nothing.If you have eaten there or been there recently or plan a trip soon you may want to think twice. read more

Two of us stopped in for a late lunch today. The place was very busy; plenty of people enjoying a drink outside in the beautiful weather. We had the Wednesday special: hamburger steak with onion gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, biscuit, and tea for only $8.95 and also the Carolina burger with fries for $9.95. Our group had seared ahi tuna cooked medium rare. It was excellent. Served with wasabi slaw. Fried shrimp basket. It was the best fried shrimp we've had on this trip. A shrimp and flounder basket, both excellent. The onion rings and hush puppies were both average. We will definitely be back to this little gem. One of the best locations in North Myrtle Beach; the view will never disappoint. The former Captn Poo's is now under new ownership and it's for the better. Great happy hour drink and food specials daily. Great open air bar and seating right on the intercoastal. On this visit we enjoyed the fish tacos and crab and shrimp dip. My 26 year old daughter was just there today. The waitress took her SC DL and broke it in half saying it was fake. They then proceeded to start yelling at her. She asked to speak to the manager and she also yelled at her. Then the owner came out and cussed her. They sent several men out to run her and her boyfriend off. AWESOME PLACE!! We spent the entire day here on a Saturday during Bike Week. There were tons of motorcycles, and plenty of outdoor seating with a beautiful view of the inter-coastal waterway. Service was excellent, we had 2 different waitresses throughout the day who kept track of us from the Picnic Table, to the Bar area, all the way to the seating at back of the restaurant on the river. Then the Bands started in the Bar and our staff was still there ensuring we had a great time. We will definitely come back here on every trip to Myrtle Beach! Oh I forgot to mention the food was great too, my Honey and I split a pound of Peel-n-Eat Shrimp which was excellent, and I had a few of my friend's Fried Shrimp which was to die for... We came here after seeing the reviews and were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. Ian's is a chill seat yourself bar along a little river behind a marina. It's an open air bar with live music and lots of bikers and boaters pulling up for a few drinks. It was an awesome place to kick back with some beers and friends. I had to knock down the rating because two of our seven people got food right away but the rest of our food took over an hour to come. The waitress dropped of a pitcher of water and didn't check in with us during all that time. I hope this was a fluke because it's such a chill place and I'd love to go back! The island shrimp appetizer and the mussels were our favorites, but all the seafood was delicious! read more

This is an awesome place to gather around, go out to eat and listen to music on the little river of North Myrtle Beach! Came on a Thursday night. Sat ourselves anywhere we wanted, delicious wings, fries, loud music! I suggest going to Ian's Waterway if you're lurking around for some dives in NMB! YUM! Brought the family to this hidden gem on the Intercoastal Waterway after a storm and sat on the back patio. I loved the atmosphere of the boats and the breeze blowing across the patio. We were there for dinner. I ordered the Low Country Boil Shrimp and Grits which sounded a bit odd to me bit was FANTASTIC! Seriously, I am going to try and figure out how to recreate this dish at home because it was that good. My 15 year old son had a cheeseburger that he says was "one of the best he's had in awhile". I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because I thought $7 for 5 cheese sticks was too much (especially since they came from a box) and the side salad that accompanied the meal was very small and very unimpressive. I was personally not a fan of the cole slaw (lots of horseradish) but my husband really liked it. Overall, we really Ian's is a great place to eat and we will definitely be back when we visit Cherry Grove again! read more

They came with a mild tartar-like sauce to dip the fish bites in that is made in-house and is delicious. Fast service as well. Good, well-seasoned fries, akin to those at Zaxby's. Our waiter, Stu, could not have been nicer! Very attentive and never let a cup go empty. Extensive beer options, as well as other beverages. Good atmosphere inside, and outside as well. Outside there was a live band playing. The ambiance is very casual and laid-back. It is in a prime location, right on the beautiful intercoastal waterway. Cool, beachy decor inside.
