Please go elsewhere. This is not it. My husband and I came here as someone recommended it to me, and to avoid driving all the way to my favorite spot on the southwest side I came here. Well let me just say We did not like anything. We got two pounds of crawfish, fried alligator, and a basket of fries for $36. I got the Captain Crawfish sauce for the crawfish and it was just plain nasty. It has some creamy taste to it that I have never seen or tasted in my life and just was not good. Yuck. The crawfish also tasted fishy. Then the fried alligator; Lord Jesus. It looked like it was frozen and they put it in the grease... well it was not good either. I've tasted way better... the fries were ok, but not hot enough for me. What's so funny is that they went around to every other table asking if everything was tasting alright and they NEVER came to us. I also asked my waiter for extra sauce, he never came back. I love this place so much. It is definitely the best seafood in the area . Trust me . The La crawfish down the way and the some other little cajun spot on 1960 I'm not sure but nothing compares to Captains . The service is nice and friendly your food is promptly prepared and the flavOr is sooo good . And not bad pricing for the amount oF food you get . I always get tHe captains sauce extra spicy . We've been to this restaurant at least 10 times in the last two months. We've had great service except for one occasion. We usually get the 4lbs get 1lb free. I like the Captain special seasoning. You can also mix and match the fried dishes. My son got the soft shell crab and fish basket. We haven't gone back since because of the poor service on our last visit. We were pretty content and almost done with our meal. We just needed a soda refill and our check but the the staff didn't check on us not even once after the food was delivered to our table. Okay I just ordered this food and couldn't wait to leave a review. My food was phenomenal. All the crawfish were great size, the headless shrimp come deveined which makes them easy for peeling and allows the seasonings to marinate the shrimp. The seasoning was perfect. I travel all around LA and Texas for Crawfish as it's my favorite food and I no longer have to drive across town to Crawfish and Noodles and pay almost $15 per lb! I order DoorDash frequently as well as to go and get fire spicy garlic butter with a side of the captain sauce to mix in and usually add some sugar and limes at home but it's always perfectly cooked and delicious! And they actually give you the weight plus some! The Cajun wings are also delicious as well as the other items which at these places usually pale in comparison to the boiled seafood. Last night me and my sisters went to Captain Crawfish Seafood and Bar for dinner. None of us had been there before, but we were in the mood for some seafood boil so we decided to give this place a go. The location is tucked away behind BrickHouse off of 1960 and 59. Plenty of parking. The inside of clean and surprisingly no one inside aside from the gentleman standing behind the counter. We were greeted and seated ourselves. The were brought some pita (?) chips and salsa. Weird combo for a seafood place, but the chips were good. Tbh, none of us really bothered with the salsa. I didn't even try it. Our drinks were brought to the table and we looked over the menu. They had a wide selection which included poboys, ramen, fried seafood, and boiled seafood. The youngest sister got or order of garlic bread and fried rice. She enjoyed both. She is easy to please. Myself and my other sister got the seafood combo 6 which includes 1lb of shrimp and 1/2 a snow crab. We were given the option to have the shrimp head-on or head-off despite the menu specifying that this combo was head-on. I got the Captain Special Blend at the fire level. My sister got the same, but the medium spice option. The Captain Special blend was so tasty. It was flavorful and spicy and there was plenty of sauce to dip our seafood in as well. Finally, the restaurant was very clean. Every table was lined with a plastic liner and there were rolls of paper towels on each table. Went last night with my family. The flavor of the crawfish is AMAZING. The chips they give you are good, but the pace salsa is gross. The reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because I found the crawfish to be on the small side. The captain flavor they have is soooooo good. Perfect amount of garlic and spice. My husband ordered a seafood boil, he got to choose 3 choices between a list of seafood options, and it comes with corn and potatoes. He chose shrimp, mussels, and snow crab. Then you choose a flavor, he picked garlic butter, and a spicy level, he chose medium. He loved it! I had the seafood scampi pasta, it comes with shrimp, crawfish and scallops. As a business owner within the food retail, this company in my opinion is amazing. I met the manager and he was such a nice guy and great personality! This place definitely deserves some true attention from the local foodies in the area. I pay attention to everything and I have to say, they are a very clean and a well kept restaurant. Prior to them, I used to go to Hanks Seafood but I believe they have them beat as far as pricing. Their items are packed with flavor. I love this place! I get all my fixings in one bag Crabs, Shrimps & Crawfish. The first time I came I got the cajun seasoning which was delicious. On this visit I switched it up and got garlic butter but it was too much. So I think I will be sticking with the cajun seasoning. Saw the coupon on Kroger receipt on back and decided ill try. It's tucked away near planet fitness and 99cent store. Oh by the way the coupon is you choose 15% off entire order or buy 2lbs. Crawfish were served in a double bag on a circular tray. At first sight after opening, the aroma was awesome. As i began to indulge, the crawfish were very small. I pick up a few to begin eating and they were small. Juicy i may add. The flavor was there but there was a taste of sweetness with the mild spice. The spicy wasn't bad but i expected more kick. The garlic flavor was there.As i was eating, i was like dang, these don't taste as fresh as I expected. To add to it, all the crawfish were small. This was frustrating to do all this work for such small crawfish. Also, if u want the full taste of the sauce, dip to the bottom of the bag. There were many heads without tails. After eating for a while, I saw there were too many small ones to keep picking. So, i left without eating about a pound and a half of crawfish, two potatoes and a corn. On the plus side, service is great and they check with you if everything is ok. Plus they have a hand washing station before u get to the restrooms so you don't burn your too-too and wee-wee. There's a sink in the restrooms as well. Benefit of the doubt, it's early crawfish seAson. Ill go again to tru something different. And i was able to watch some of the game today. Pleasant staff but nothing at all special about this restaurant. I eat out 300 evenings a year and try all types of food. This is certainly not Cajun food and would probably not last long In Louisiana. That being said, the food wasn't bad, it just wasn't good. Then there is the beer list. If you aspire to be thought of as a Louisiana style food destination, you have to have at least a couple Louisiana beers. Where is the Abita? I tried this place out on my way out of town and i had a decent experience overall. I ordered the garlic butter medium spice crawfish with corn, potatoes, and sausage. I also tried the Cajun flavor at the same spice level. The crawfish were a good size but the flavor of the garlic butter could have been stronger. Also, the sauce was heavy on the butter. Don't get me wrong, I love butter, but I have had better garlic butter recipes. The Cajun spice was the better of the two options. The corn absorbed all the spice which is always great. The sausage and potatoes are also some of my favorite add ons. The place was empty when I went. The service was prompt and friendly. I like the place enough to try out other seafood and more of that Cajun spice. Try it for yourself and be your own judge. read more
