Clam chowder and clam cakes. Yum!
    Daniel B.

Another stellar meal at Captain Frosty's in Dennis. I had the fried scallop plate that was packed with sweet scallops, fries and a couple of clam cakes and hubby had the clam cakes and chowder. We love the place. It is so typically Cape Cod in there. Even the menu board reminds you of the old days. The folks taking orders were efficient, speedy and read back your order to make sure you got everything and nothing was missed.

My favorite spot for all things fried seafood. Captain Frosty offers fresh seafood and decent portions in a laid back updated setting. It's a great family option for a leisurely dinner after the beach and offers easy takeout for those wanting to skip the crowds. I ordered the fish and strips plate which was loaded with golden fried deliciousness. The fish and clams tasted fresh and the batter was crispy and not too oily. The clam fritter had a nice doughy texture but a little on the salty side. The clam strip roll was absolutely loaded with clams. While on the pricey side, the portions and quality of the food are worth it. The restaurant had nice seating inside and shaded outdoor seating. It can be a bit tight if it is busy. At 5:30 pm the parking lot was already getting full and there weren't many open tables. Loved the vibe though. Easy to order takeout with toast. Plus you get text alerts when your food is ready. Not something you see with most old school places at the Cape. Great spot. Go give the Captain a try!

Ordered my lunch on a weekday, quick service & delicious food. There was a short line but it moved quickly.

I heard this is the place to go for fried seafood plates on the cape so of course I had to come here. I went with the fried clam belly plate, which came with fries, coleslaw, and 2 clam fritters. I think it was a little under $30, which I thought was a little steep at first but they advertise on their website it's all fresh local seafood so can't complain! For being fried, the clams were still very very flavorful and not too heavy. Easily the best fried seafood I've had. The fries were also good, nice and crispy and not too thick. I wasn't a huge fan of the clam cakes but that's not to say they were bad, just not my thing. There was plenty of seating inside at 2:30 on a Thursday but I imagine it gets busy on weekends during lunchtime. The employees were also very friendly. Would love to come back next time I'm on the cape and try the scallops and the cherry dipped ice cream, both of which looked delicious!

Super casual, roadside stand, atmosphere. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. We went on a weeknight around 6:00 pm and there was a 30-minute wait for our food. The clam chowder and fish and chips were excellent and definitely worth the wait.

This place is adorable, the space is clean, well thought out, and comfortable. We were able to sit in the back patio which was lovely, plenty of shade. It's a no frills place, but the service was good! Really impressed given that almost everyone working there is young. The food is fresh and made to order and the price is fair. The seafood is definitely the star with minimum seasoning (I thought it could do with some salt and lemon but that's a personal preference). Great soft serve. This place is busy and for good reason, if you're in the area, it's worth a stop!

The lobster roll is good. I like the lettuce at the bottom to give it a different texture. Lobster tastes good too. There's indoor and outdoor seating.

A Cape vacation is never complete without some quality fare from the local seafood shack, and Captain Frosty's didn't disappoint. I was initially skeptical that I'd be able to find something gluten and dairy free, since most of these places are filled with very breaded seafood. But I was very happily surprised! The menu has a whole salad section with allergen-friendly options, with grilled meat or seafood add ons. I nearly got the grilled scallops with the house salad, but I couldn't ignore my lobster craving. Lobster salad (aka a bun-less lobster roll) isn't listed as an add on, but they fulfilled my request with a smile and zero fuss. Je ne regrette rien. The salad was super fresh with a citrusy vinaigrette, and the lobster salad was even fresher, with a generous portion of meat (not just the small claw bits) and a light coat of mayo. My gluten-loving eating companions were very happy with their lobster rolls, clam strips, and fries -- all still hot and crispy by the time we brought the takeout containers back to the vacation rental. Captain Frosty's is also super conveniently located near Mayflower Beach, so skip the beach snack shack and come here instead! I'm already dreaming of my next Cape getaway...

Just okay. Was pretty bummed after reading such great reviews. The restaurant is adorable, but the food is super basic and overpriced in my opinion. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever with the Monty chicken sandwich and there was limited lobster on the lobster roll for the price.

My family of ten ordered takeout on a Thursday night (yesterday)…read more I can't really rate ambience because we didn't eat there, but we did have a quick drink at the bar. It's loud in there- really loud. If you are looking for a really lively outdoor bar/restaurant/social/music blaring kinda vibe, this is it. I definitely see a younger crowd loving this. First thing I really appreciated here was that the food was ready upon pick, at the exact time they quoted me. For over 10 dishes, that was pretty darn good. I also appreciated how helpful the hostesses were in letting us check it against our own list, and open each and every box to ensure it was with the correct sides etc. And the other reason they are scoring high is because it was. Everything was perfect, not a single thing missing or wrong (and we had about 15 dishes). For me, this was a solid meal. It's probably not the best seafood you can get on a seafood Mecca like can cod, but darn were we satisfied! I was happier here than with the overrated Skippers! The fried scallops and the fried shrimps were succulent, juicy, perfectly done and you got a lot. We got both the hot buttered and cold mayo lobster rolls- both were delicious (could have used a bit more lobster for the price). The rolls were really good. The fried calamari was perfectly fried, not greasy, not chewy. Things we ordered that I did not try include the buffalo chicken wrap, kids meals and pretzel, but the reviews were positive. The highlight for me was the fried cod fish tacos! They were fresh, crisp, seasoned, tortillas were good- just all around a fantastic flavor and super filling. the low point for me was the Ceasar salad with added lobster salad- I thought that the amount of lobster for the uncharge cost was unaligned, and they really, massively overdressed the salad. It was dripping and completely soaked. We would 100% return here- overall I thought the prices fair for the food and it was a very smooth takeout process.

I personally put paper towels and napkins that I had found in the bathroom to replace the toilet paper. With the amount of people there it was obscene to not have someone able to fill it. Management definitely needs a wake up call. These are basic needs. The place is fun but either way this isn't ok.

The restaurant had an ice cream counter, but I just stuck to the seafood. I went with half fried shrimp and half fried clam strips with fries. Lots of fried food! I preferred the shrimp over the clam strips because I found them to be a bit too breaded, but that's common. I would for sure come back again. Located at 117 Rock Harbor Rd, Orleans, MA, it's a quintessential, nostalgic New England lobster shack. It features the BEST lobster rolls we've ever had! Believe me, over the past six decades, we've eaten hundreds of lobster rolls. We've tried them from Maine to Gloucester, Mystic to Newport, Block Island to Hyannis, and Provincetown to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Cap't Cass beats them all! The outside of the shack is an absolute Cape Cod icon! The exterior walls are covered in vibrant, colorful vintage fishing buoys, and beautiful patriotic bunting hangs right above their big "Coffee & Beignets" banner. Seeing that bright red "OPEN" sign lit up on the white siding made us so excited to head inside! Cheers to a fantastic meal! Dave and I had a wonderful time clinking our glasses and getting ready to dive into our food. Sitting right by the window, we could see the bright green buoy hanging outside, while the wall next to us featured some awesome decor--including big lobster claws and a beautiful painted fish plate! We even brought along our trusty Cape Cod summer guidebooks to plan the rest of our perfect weekend getaway. Our lobster rolls were piled high with massive, fresh chunks of meat. We paired it with a side of perfectly crisp, golden-brown onion rings, a splash of fresh lemon, and some creamy coleslaw. Every single bite was pure heaven! Our server Quinn added to our meal with her pleasant personality, attention to detail, and excellent service. The inside of Captain Cass has the best nostalgic charm, too! They have a great chalkboard wall featuring their cute "Cass-A-Boo-Boo" lobster mascot, framed historic "The Cape Codder" newspaper clips, and vintage buoys. They even serve those fresh beignets all day and have their official Cap't Cass hoodies and shirts back in stock! You can get the rolls served two ways: traditional cold with mayo, or our favorite- warm and hot with butter. We are already planning our next visit to this local favorite! Bonus: It's just a quick ten-minute drive from our favorite inn, the Ship's Knees Inn in East Orleans. Big thanks to our innkeeper friend Pete Butcher for highly recommending it.
