Captains Catch is good but a very basic seafood restaurant. I thought the service was good and attentive and friendly enough. Sat outside on a Sunday evening. Their specials on the board were mostly just the market price for the day.  Food was average at best. Most of our food ordered was swimming in garlic oil and not in a good way. The meal includes a fresh baked loaf of honey wheat bread and butter, plus a choice of soup or salad and they were nothing special. The salad was okay though they don't make any dressings in house. The Manhattan Chowder was a little fishy and lacking seasoning. The softshell crabs were obviously prefrozen as they are not in season but they were harvested as babies and very tiny. The stuffed shrimp were good sized and most likely fresh but the crab meat did not seem house made. The house veggies of the day were cooked right but served in way too much oil. My fish entree was ok. We had called from home and were encouraged to come. When we arrived we were told we were late for our reservation. We did not know that we had a reservation. Then we had to wait outside or in the car because there was no room inside to wait. This took about 45 minutes while people kept entering and getting seated. It took a long time before we could order. They were obviously understaffed. My wife asked for the Delmonico steak rare. The waitress said they could do it medium rare. When the steak finally arrived it was well done and very thin, so we sent it back. We had seen a video depicting the Delmonico at this restaurant cooked perfectly rare and thick. The waitress said the Delmonico in the video was from the main menu, not the early bird, which is what we ordered from. The waitress suggested the broiled snapper. Service was absolutely horrible, stood outside for 15 min as employees walked by us and totally ignored us. Party of four, Son had to go inside and ask if they had a host? Finally got a table and it took over a hour for our food to come out, the waitresses said it's coming 3 times to us. As such, a personable, efficient waitress handles 8 tables while manager chows down watermelon unavailable to diner as dessert. Manager makes no attempt to help server or busser. Food is plain, unoriginal nor creative, but is solid fare. Last night we did takeout. It was catastrophic: unidentifiable tiny fish in an unknown coating floating in an amorphous yellow liquid. A small baked sweet potato was too charred to eat. Missing was bread, veggies were invisible. We were thankful that the disposal accepted this because we couldn't. read more

I have eaten here multiple times and i must say the food is amazing. Most places you go to around here you pay crazy prices and don't get much food, but here you get dishes that are a great size and worth the price. What is spectacular find when I walked into the restaurant I thought I may be in Key West. There is small cozy intimate setting the menu had everything from fresh fish calamari to market price lobster clams, oregano, etc. it was our anniversary so I ordered zuppa Depeche. My mother-in-law got a pound and a half fresh lobster. My wife got clams And my father-in-law had fried Diablo muscles half lobster and scallops. The waitress could have not been nicer. I am in NJ and couldn't get to Florida for Father's Day this year for our traditional lobster dinner. I called and spoke to Liz here and she was great, helping me choose items and updating my order as plans changed, always patient, and she called me back when she said she would. The food was delivered exactly on time, packaged well. Gorgeous Maine lobsters with lemon and butter, caesar salad, veggies and baked sweet potato, and plenty of bread and butter to go with. Key Lime Pie and cannoli were great too. Just wish I could have been there to have some myself! Prices are reasonable, especially since this was a holiday delivery. So pleased they helped me make my dad's day special when I couldn't be there. Looking forward to going back in person once I'm able to go visit Florida again. read more

Me and my family of 4 including me were going to get dinner for my father's birthday. When we entered red lobster, a lady complained that she had already waited 45 minutes for her food and stated that she was going to leave. That completely drove us away from dining in so my dad found this place in yelp and the reviews were decent so we gave it a try...That was a big mistake. When we walked up there was an empty podium and multiple employees walked past us and no service. My dad had to walk in the store and request to be seated. Anyways walking in it is a semi-tight restaurant and not too noisy with sweet elderly couples and party's. When we were seated we received our drinks and it was good...(so far) We order a fried calamari for our appetizer and it took a bit. But when revived it was on the small side. I ordered 2 crab cakes, fish soup, super salad with a side of fries. My grandmother ordered stuffed shrimp and some other stuff. And my grandfather ordered clam chowder. Just to let you know the food took 1h and 15 minutes to arrive to our table!!! That is outrageous...For the food review, keeping it on the most respectful side the fish soup was disgusting but might only be for certain people. The crab cakes were a bit on the dark side but it's alright. The so called "scrod" was so mushy it wasn't even funny, the scallops were amazing and the stuffed shrimp along with the clam chowder was good. Even though majority of the food was good it did not make up for the amount of time we had to wait for it. I promise we are not impatient but who wants to wait an hour and 15 for food?!?! So I started out with a phone order to Liz. I had read other reviews and I thought I would try the restaurant for the lobster. Liz was really helpful and made good suggestions. I ordered four 2 lb lobsters -- two with soup (NE clam chowder and Manhattan fish) and two with salad. Definitely preferred the chowder. The lobsters were perfect! They were tender and juicy and cracked in all the right places. We also received melted butter and bread and cole slaw. Yum! Will certainly be back for the service and the excellent lobster. How to I start, it has been a least 5 years since my last visit! The place is still very loud and cramped! Once seeded we waited 15 minutes until we were acknowledged, Zac finally came over to take our order , I had shrimp park and my wife had fried fish and bake potato . After 45 minutes our food showed up, and must say it was delicious. One problem three women showed up and one is a10!! Zac was all over them and discovered they were from Brooklyn. Used to love this place. Second time we left. Had a reservation at 7:30. Was seated and greeted very nice. Got our bread and wine. Waitress says she'll be back to take our order. Great. There was an extremely loud party. So loud the bus boy came over and apologized. I couldn't hear my friends talk. The Resturaunt was not crowded at all just this loud group of 6 on the other side of the Resturaunt. We waited over half hour for the waitress. It was ridiculous and she wasn't running around super busy. We asked for the bill for our drinks and left. I can understand if it was busy, it was not snd she wasn't over worked running around. Another time the Resturaunt said it was open till 9. We showed up on a day it was to be open and they closed at 7:30 and wouldn't let us in. Too inconsistent or reliable. read more

I'll start by being seated in a most uncomfortable booth which had no overhead lighting . The restaurant was not busy on this Monday evening and yet It took a while for our waitress Monastand (sp) to arrive , we found her to be dispassionate & appeared to have an impersonal attitude throughout our whole dinner. She returned with our drink orders & took our dinner orders, we were never given any specials , if there were any ! A tiny loaf of untasty bread was delivered while we waited for our salads . Our finished salad plates were picked up without any conversation and then we waited nigh on an hour for our dinner to arrive . During that time between salad & dinner there was no contact whatsoever from our waitress . A simple "can I get you anything" or "your dinner will be out shortly" .... Anything at all !!! We did have to ask for more butter for our bread & yet we're not offered any more bread during our lengthy wait .Our dinner Finally arrived , my father in law had the broiled sea scallops which he said were 'edible', my mister ordered the fried sea scallops which were merely dropped into the hot oil without any batter coating ! He was not impressed . My baked Bronzino was probably the smallest fish they could have found and it was delivered on a huge platter without any garnish !!! The fish was ok, nothing special , let's say it was Edible .The French fries although crunchy appeared to be an old batch. I will add that my tiny fish dish was almost $30 , laughable !!! During the course of our dinner our waitress never returned once to ask how everything was . As I was seated in the booth facing the back of the restaurant I noticed a man ( the manager or owner) constantly peering out to the front, yet never walked through the dining room ! Our plates were removed & we were asked the obligatory question , do you want dessert , No we just want to get out of this dark , uncomfortable booth and Never return to this restaurant again ! Our food from Captain's Catch was excellent. We got curbside delivery. It was the same high standard we'd had dining in before Covid-19 began. The soup was hot, the salad was very good, and the fish was excellent. The sides were very good. Warm bread was provided, along with a complimentary dessert. Some of our favorite restaurants have not managed the takeout process well, but Captain's Catch has succeeded.. We'll return again. The phone order process went well, and our orders were accurate and ready on time. Everything was carefully packed, and there were no leaks or spills. Condiments were provided. Due to our health issue, we don't dine indoors. We normally eat in our car, picnic style, with towels spread on our laps instead of taking the food home. It worked out OK. While nothing beats a fine dining experience indoors, we still enjoyed our food very much. read more

If their food was even reasonably good and price point was fair I wouldn't leave this review but the fact that this is a "seafood" restaurant named captains catch I feel people should know that this place is a complete scam. I say scam because they attempt to appear as a seafood restaurant. Out dated decor with a seafood name doesn't make you a seafood restaurant. Everything we ate was mediocre at best but what bothers me the most is the pricing was for real, fresh seafood and steak. I could have gotten fresh seafood or steak for the same price at a restaurant on the water guaranteed! I'm not going to go into detail on the food as again my opinion isn't a fact and unless I can go into their kitchen to confirm it's an opinion but please take my word on this one; This place isn't worth it, a lot of other options that are better without the dingy, stale decor and sub-par food. read more
