I've had a really good experience with Car Fix Cookeville. All I've had done is an oil change and alignment, but I watched another elderly couple come in for something minor as they were traveling across country and this team, took the time to replace a bolt? Like I said something minor and well they had them back on the road in about 15 minutes, I don't recall them being charged and the couple never came back in to pay anything. With regard to my experience, they were very professional and went above and beyond. Sent my son there for his tires today and well it looks like I'm ready for another oil change. Posting this for my Father: "While traveling across the country, my car's bike rack suddenly broke, leaving me to look for a solution in Cookeville, Tennessee. I tried four places. Two garages said they weren't equipped to make the repairs--and the other two garages simply refused to help. After hours of searching, I finally spotted a sign, "CAR FIX, WE FIX ANYTHING!" And they did! The manager, Laser Cisneros, promptly made the repairs (while offering us coffee and donuts), and we were back on the road in less than twenty minutes. Not only did Laser do a great job, but he also refused to accept payment! Great service! read more

AVOID USING "CAR FIX" AT ALL COSTS, in my opinion!! Well, I'll begin from the start! First vehicle I ever took to them was for a simple Oil Change! Within a week, my low oil light came on the car! Found out, they only put about two quarts of oil in the car! Next, I brought a car in to have new tires installed! When it came time for a tire rotation, 8 of my lug nuts were so cross threaded and/or over tightened that it snapped the studs!! Then I bring a car in for an oil change, I end up dropping it off the day before since the appointment was super early in the morning, I get a call tell me that I need to have my car towed to the dealership because they can't even get my car started!!! Now the most recent issue came about! I took my truck in for an oil change, at a different business, and find out that now I have to take my truck to the dealership because Car Fix put my oil drain plug on SO TIGHT that no one can safely remove it!!!! By all means avoid this place at all cost in my opinion!!! read more

Took my mothers car there in July, waited almost an entire month on a 'part to arrive from Germany' to fix an ignition switch for a 2013 VW Beetle. I worked in the trucking business for 11 years and in customer service for 5, so I understand that things happen and delays happen, but the whole experience left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. After being hosed for 2900.00 (might as well be 3 grand honestly, especially after I had to pay to fix a flat tire, that went flat on their lot, and they never offered to help fix it once at all, other than airing it up and sending us on our way, after they got my money.) for an ac compressor and ignition switch housing replacement job, I can assert now after a few weeks now that i've cooled off, that it's safe to say, I will never darken this establishments doors ever again. I've dealt with all kinds of mechanics in my life from shade tree dudes in their backyards, all the way to corporate technicians in multimillion dollar garages when I still drove truck, and this place was by far one of the worst. Oh and the SNAP Finance option they offer to help pay for work, has a disgustingly and offensively high interest rate of 150-200% interest, if you don't pay the loan off within 100 days. I had to borrow 1950.00 mom was able to shoulder the other grand on her credit cards) and if I had just let the loan run it's course for 12 months, I would have paid back over 3600 dollars, on a 1900 dollar loan. I'm lucky my local bank was able to help me out, and give me a personal loan to get out from under that slimy SNAP Finance one. Definitely should've read the fine print much MUCH closer on that deal. Very predatory practices at this place. Highly unethical Poor communication skills by staff in general Nobody seemed to even want to be there at all Manager seemed to not give a crap until I started asking for a refund and then conveniently he "called one of his vendors and they found the part on their shelf and can bring it overnight" We waited almost an entire month, and it was like pulling teeth just to get a FedEx Tracking number from someone to find out where the ignition housing assembly part was, only for FedEx to tell me the part is "lost in customs in Memphis for 2 weeks", and at that point, I started inquiring about a refund, and that was when the manager finally decided to do something and magically it happened and one of his "vendors" produced the part. Not impressed at all with how it was all handled. Avoid them like the plague, and find someone else to fix your vehicle. Or proceed at your own risk, I'm nobody's keeper. I'm just one guy that that got screwed over royally, and this is just one review. It's meaningless at this point and I'm just venting about it. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would! Took my car in to them for a simple oil change, but what I found the next day was angering!! There was oil all over my driveway from under my car. I was fortunate that I lived near a dealership to get it FIXED. They discovered the oil filter was NOT screw on tight!! What kind of mechanic that doesn't know how to screw something simple tight?? Oil change and changing oil filter is one of the top things a mechanic should know how to do in their line of work!! What kind of automotive establishment would let something like this pass or even yet hired! What a JOKE!! I also had to call them and ask if it was finished and the response was "yeah we got it done a hour or so ago". It's shortly before 5 o'clock. I'm driving down I-40 on a trip from Crossville to Goodletsville. We have a one month old baby in the car. I lose all electrical power and gauges. Anxiously, I call Car Fix out of the blue to see whether or not we can come in to get what is apparently a faulty alternator replaced. The shop closes at 6 o'clock. Fortunately for us, Sam answered the phone. Serendipitously, I had known Sam from his working at another car repair shop in Crossville. Upon our arrival, Sam promptly diagnosed the problem and saw to it that repair was done before they closed at 6 o'clock. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate what Sam and the other technicians at Car Fix did today. GM Brad has a great customer service team at this shop. I recommend them highly. read more

I was a few days away from a long road trip. One tire had a slow leak and I wasn't confident about the safety of the other three. When I called Cookeville Tire and Auto, Richard was so helpful. I told him I needed tires as soon as possible, but had to work every day leading up to my trip. He offered me transportation to work while my car was getting worked on so I didn't have to make other arrangements. This is so thoughtful, because the last thing you want to worry about when you're dealing with car repairs or upkeep, is missing work. Another thing I appreciated, is that Richard came out to my car when I dropped it off, and he measured the tread on my tires. He explained how much time my tires likely had left and discussed the options and costs. Not once did I feel pressured to overspend or agree to unnecessary repairs. I received a call as soon as my car was finished and was able to pick it up the same day. They did a great job with the alignment and when I picked up my car, it felt brand new. I went to this place because of good reviews. Sadly, mine is not. Mysterious problems appear after we got our car worked on. When we stated we would see about a second opinion the "problem" mysteriously has not occurred since. Brakes and rotors on my car were due to be replaced. No real problems but a little vibration when pressing the brake at higher speeds. Paid them over $600 bucks for back brakes. Got the car back just in time for our trip. It was a hot mess!!!! Drove it on the interstate and car vibrated the whole way. Brakes kicked and jumped. Got back from our trip and told them the problem. They did a "warranty" fix on it. Car still continues to vibrate just driving it. This vibration was NOT present before they worked on it and frankly I do not want to take it back to them for fear of further mysterious problems happening. Nah. Just won't be back read more

Overcharged for something they barely even looked at. Told me my ballast for headlight needed replacing and charged over $50. Told me they couldn't replace it and never called me to tell me it was done. Had to call them to see where they were at with my vehicle. Left my headlights on when I got in my car. I understand it's mostly a tire place but when they said they worked on headlights I was expecting more than a 5th grade answer. My college buddies had more input and pointed out several things wrong with the headlight after I had them look over it... joke of a service and will never go back for anything. read more

Would avoid at all costs. I came in today asking to get a headlight connection replaced and possibly a new bulb. They told me it would be about an hour and they would call me when it's done. Two and a half hours later, they call me and tell me it's going to be $200 for an easy fix. So of course, I said no, I'll pick my truck up and take it elsewhere. Then they charge me a mandatory $100 fee for "diagnosis," which remember I told them what the issue was. Never coming back here. read more

Took my 2005 Toyota Carolla in because the engine was rumbling loud and idling high, around 2000 RPM, and the car was vibrating while going over 70 MPH. They charged me $1600 for tire replacement, break caliper replacement, exhaust repair, and battery replacement. I get the car back AND IT'S STILL LOUD, IDLING HIGH, AND NOW MY BREAKS SQUEAK WHEN I PRESS THEM. They are doing what all mechanics eventually do and start scamming people. I have had numerous oil changes here in the past the last three times I have had to go back because the oil was leaking. On my last oil change visit I had a tire repaired. They wanted to charge ($25.00) me for this although I have a National Goodyear Warranty for flat and road hazard. I mentioned to them and they removed the charge. Over the next six days the tire they repaired keep loosing air. When I was able to get back to them to repair the tire they had just fixed I mentioned the oil was still leaking as well. An hour and a half later I was told the car was ready. When i went to go I was told I had to pay the $25.00 for the repair, on the tire they had just repaired six days earlier. I remind him i had the warranty which he had just honored six days ago. I was told, " Pay me the $25.00 or we will never do business with you again". I am glad I am not an older person who know what that person would have to go through. I paid them my cars ramson and WILL NEVER GO BACK. Worst Auto Repair Experience of my life.
