I love my '02 VW Jetta wagon and was have maintained it well. But when the transmission conked out I was afraid it might be the end of the road. So much is computerized these days and good parts for older cars can be tricky to find. Maybe it was time to let it go. I wasn't sure what to do. Since my regular mechanic liked Car Life, and I trusted him, I decided to go through with the repair. A new transmission might be expensive, but its cheaper than buying a new car. As a women I am not educated enough about cars especially transmissions. I have a 2013 Honda fit with 88,000.00 miles and was told by W.... services that I would need a new transmission costing $6,000.00. I not sure if the car is worth it. On top of that I had to pay them $200.00 just to have them assess it. I called Jeremine at Car-life and had the car tolled to his shop. He called me in a day during the thanksgiving holiday to tell me the transmission service charge will be $700.00!!. I am so thankful to have a honest person in today's world. My drive trane broke at the ujoint on a Monday and got it taken to them same day. By Wednesday they had found a new one and installed it and it was ready for pickup. They were very communicative, efficient and fair priced. Will definitely go back if I have any more problems. read more

My dealer took my car to this shop and when I went to pick up the vehicle there was a 179 diagnostic fee. no where on his work bill is there a statement saying I will be charged. The owner said he did take 50 off. They were rude and appeared to be racist towards me a minority female. the owner made a statement that his tech couldn't work for free and said he would give the tech the dealer address and he wouldn't like the outcome. I know the dealer who dropped my vehicle off and if he was with me and the owner made that statement he probably would have went back to prison for another murder. I'm glad he wasn't with me because he is really trying to turn his life around. Kent really needs to beware who he makes his negative remarks to not knowing who a person is or what gang they are affiliated with. read more

I had a recommendation to contact Car Life Transmission. Upon arrival I was immediately impressed with the cleanliness of this establishment. They did an excellent job in everyway. Fred, the owner, was very kind and efficient, along with his great staff. They replaced my Transmission at an affordable cost which came with a great warranty. They recommended I return within 500 to 1000 miles for a free check up. No appointment needed. I pulled in and was literally there 5 minutes for the check up. I would 100% recommend this shop to a friend. I purchased a 2008 Honda Fit (from Priority Honda, Chesapeake - beware!) after moving here 2 months ago and it's been a complete disaster. Last week the engine light came on again with what seemed to be a transmission issue. I took it into the nearest transmission shop. That particular shop took 2 days too look at the car. They called back and offered to fully dismantle the transmission to diagnose the issue at $550. They said there were 11 possibilities for the issue and they wouldn't be able to diagnose the issue or estimate a total cost until after the dismantle. The dismantle would take 2-3 days. At that point I looked for a second opinion and was referred to CareLife Transmission. In short, the team at CareLife diagnosed the issue in less than 1 day and fully repaired the transmission issue in 2 days. They credited the $175 diagnosis charge towards the repair which ran ~$660. Not only that, they warranted their work and also called the following day to check in to see how the car was doing. It's ran beautifully ever since. When I stopped into the shop to pick up my car, they were pleasant to interact with. They are charismatic, warm, and friendly. I will take take any vehicle of mine that requires transmission maintenance or repairs to this shop now until I move out of the area. Everyone at Car Life is kind, honest and helpful! Last year our 2005 Toyota Sienna needed a new transmission. Car Life was where our mechanic sent us. They got us fixed up with a great transmission with a lifetime warranty. Not only did they get our car fixed up, they were always so kind and caring! This year we made it back for our check- up to keep our lifetime warranty and while we made the date, we had unfortunately gone over our mileage. Most people would tell us that the warranty is done, but they kindly gave us grace! In today's world, it is rare to find such kindness. People tend to see things in black and white and too often lack understanding and rarely offer grace. Who needs Clark Kent? Fred Kent is our family's hero! Initial service was okay but over priced. This is what happens when you look in the Yellow Pages and do not get other estimates. Cost me $3,100 for a remanufactured transmission including labor for my truck. 1 year and 6 months later, transmission is gone again. I called mentioning the warranty should still be valid and was told I needed the actual receipt or it was their word against mine. I told them I moved but I have the credit card statement with the charge and that wasn't good enough....smh. WARNING:STAY AWAY.....Will do anything to not honor warranty, and if you have not taken it back to them for the 159.00 annual, you can forget about it. read more
