I have an interlock device in my vehicle. I have to get my calibrations done every 30 days and I chose Car Toys due to a bad experience at a shop in Nevada Tx. I had trouble signing my lease for my device and they sent the lease to Car Toys for me to sign there. I had no trouble at all. Jock had it printed out and ready for me when I arrived. He even took a picture and emailed it back to the company for me. Also, the calibrations are a lot cheaper than I expected them to be. Car toys charged me under $40 to have it done. This place is a complete joke. I had my car broken into and had to replace a rear window. I explained that I needed the new window tinted to match the other windows. After being convinced that they could do the job correctly, I agreed. They service was fast, then they pulled the car around and to my surprise the rear window they just tinted was a completely different color than the rest of the car. I relayed my distaste to the store and complained to the tech who then proceeded to get aggressive with me. I told him he needed to stop and reset which angered him more. He then threatened to beat my ass and referenced going back to prison. I'd avoid this shop at all costs. The shop needs to vet its techs better, and maybe stop hiring strung out convicts. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!!!! Very dishonest staff. Never received a call stating my car was ready until we called them...they told us everything was good to go and ready. I get there and now the manager saying something's wrong when it should've been communicated prior. Wasted almost $400 just for the screen in my car to not be fixed. SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN. If you have a warranty item, DO NOT come here. These guys were dishonest. I took my vehicle in to get the remote start system looked at because it was causing some sort of short in the system and wouldn't allow the stock key to turn on the car. Car toys said a needed a locksmith for my vehicle to fix the stock keys first, that's fine and it's what I did. After the locksmith issued us new keys ($500), he left. Car toys removed the "brain box" of the remote system and said the locksmith smith he doesn't recommended they put it back in. He handed me the box and said sorry. Later on I asked the locksmith if he had said that he doesn't recommend car toys reinstall the system; he said no I never said that. So clearly Car Toys-Rockwall did not want to help and thought they could lie their way out of fixing my warranty item. I went to Car Toys-Lewisville instead and John reinstalled a brand new system for me and my vehicle remote start system runs so smoothly. Go there instead! read more

I called to get an estimate on installing a new stereo and camera's in my Jeep JK. They told me $140 for the head unit and $50-200. When I got there, they told me it would be $1200. They said it would take 4 hours just to install the head unit and program the cameras. So, as politely as I could, I told them I had watched enough install videos, so I would just do it myself. So this weekend, not knowing what I was doing, starting, pausing, rewinding, videos as I went, I ran all the cameras, installed the head unit, programmed the cameras (which took 3 minutes), and have it installed, working perfectly, with 6 hours work. They could have done it in 4. Do not go there. They will try to take advantage of people who may not be knowledgeable enough to walk away. read more

These guys installed a Car Play Sony device in my 2004 TJ Jeep. It looks great. The finished product works great. They put in two main speakers also. Had a rattle in the dash a few days later and they fixed it no questions asked. Great attitude among the whole team. AAAA+ crew. Give them a try. Update Nov 14th: Had a rattle in my dash, took it back, had no problem getting it in to find the issue on my Jeep. Talked with tech and found but missing on metal to metal that was left off. Now no rattle and a happy customer. Have to give them credit, with as many different model they deal with they are open to suggestions and thank you if you pin point the area the rattle is in. Ridiculous. Had a duo dvd system installed a year ago and every time we close the car doors.... it shuts off. Super annoying. Good thing we ordered the extended warranty right? NOT. Came in on Sunday and told them the problem. They confirmed of our issue. They uninstalled the dvd systems and broke a screw in the middle of it and said "don't worry. If you need to hook them back up- just use electrical tape." We used our warranty and ordered 2 more screens that would be here today. Called ahead and let them know we were coming at 4. We asked if the screens had come in yet. They said they would call us back and NEVER did. So I drove an hour up here to get things fixed. Came inside and after telling them everything that happened last time here, they begin to tell me they never received our order. It just never showed up. I asked them to call the facility that should of delivered them and they wouldn't. So they are going to hook up the old ones that do not work, again. I asked them to deliver the screens to where we are staying in Colorado and they said "we don't do that." We will be on vacation driving through 7 states for 3+ weeks leaving at 5am tomorrow with a 2 year old and 3 year old with 2 dvd systems that will shut off every time a door closes. read more

I usually have had a pretty good experience with Car Toys in Rockwall and that is why I felt that I could send my daughter there and they would take care of her without me being there. That wasn't the case. I feel that they took advantage of her because of her lack of knowledge and maybe because she was a girl. She went to have an after market radio installed and unfortunately; it was a piece of junk. My daughter called me and asked what should she do so I told her to just buy a reasonable priced stereo from them. So she did. They scheduled her to come back to install it and after the install; they told her that her speakers were blown after spending a $1000.00 there. She took her car next door to Super Sound and she bought speakers there and had them to install them. Upon further review; they explained to her that her speakers weren't blown after all. The stereo was installed incorrectly. Car Toys is now refusing to except responsibility for the install. I will never use them again and I hope you find this review helpful and choose not to use them as well. read more

I have a newer car so I wanted to make sure they were capable of doing what I wanted. long story short my car at the dealership for 2 weeks I drive a nice car and they put me in the cheapest car they could find. I think cat toys make there employees pay for it that why. after getting my car back 20 days later I went to pay and the price we agreed was now different. I never got any original agreement I figure I pay the and would remember it the day I was supposed to pay not 2 weeks later. they up my piece from 1300 to 1400 saying taxes but I always ask for price with the tax who doesn't when we're dropping that kind of money. paid for NY stuff and asked for the boxes and they said it was thrown away. I know something was up than but being super busy could put my thum on it. 2 days I go to put velcro so my speaker doesn't move and look at the Amp and they put Ina 500w amp instead of my 600w amp. wow are you serious after putting my car in the shop for more than 2 week your going to switch my amp. what you didn't think I would notice eventually. my recite says what I should have gotten the pplap7 with the 600w amp it says package 7 on the recite and when inasked why iwas not informed more excuses and excuses. they finally agreed to get me my amp when it come into stock and if not they will give me crite for the one I have. dishonest people I should have listen to the dealership and sue them for what they did. I went to Car Toys in Rockwall when my factory speakers had went out. Since I bought my truck I had intended to get a full screen 2 din Radio. I wanted to get a unit that had navigational maps. The navigational units started at around $1200. The staff showed me the car play units. They were around $400. I had them install the radio with 2 speakers. I had 2 amps from my previous vehicle. I went back and had the amps installed. When I picked up the vehicle, it didn't sound good. I went back the next day. Chet upgraded the speakers, all 4, and they installed those. I thought I had put in infinity speakers but they were a cheaper brand which caused the amp to blow one of them. Chet went the extra mile to make me happy. He made a heck of a deal on 4 JL Audio speakers and David didn't charge me to install them. I think this was awesome! I recommend using these guys. They took care of me. Randy read more

The biggest headache ever! A year and a half I had a sterio, blue tooth, back up camera, power locks and Windows installed. I've been back countless times to have the latter two fixed. I get told only this month, by the store manager, they knew all along that they couldn't put power locks and Windows on a Jeep....WOW!! this last time though they again put "new" parts on and it was fixed for sure... Not working properly in under 3 hours. I've called customer service... And written the district manager twice now.... 0 results... I wish my Jeep was still factory. I have zero confidence in the doors and locks. DON'T EVER GO HERE! Oct. 28th Update ... They tried to fixed it again ... Guaranteed it actually. They had to come jump start me 3x the day I picked It up. They drained my battery. Thankfully they have me a new battery free of charge. It worked for 5 weeks to the day. Again, I wrote the district manager. He then had the store manager from the Mesquite store call me. This seemed a little unfair as that store manager and I are acquaintances and a little like he was just pushing me off. None the less... The issue has been deemed a product failure, again. However, despite the fact I am no longer covered under thier warranty... Due to it being an on going issue they are going to cover product cost and labor. I have an appointment this weekend. I bought a new Ram 1500 from Rockwall Chrysler Jeep Ram and they suggested Car Toys could removed my Amateur Radio Equipment from my old vehicle and install all of it properly in my new Ram. I have used Car Toys before in Denton and they did the job professionally without any damage. The Rockwall store burned out my radios by miss handling them during the install. I contacted the Rockwall dealer with the estimate I received from a Professional Amateur Radio Dealer. The Rockwall Car Toys promised they would call me but never did. I called them back a week later only to learn from the manager that he said corporate will not pay for the damage. I am a Combat Disabled Vietnam Veteran and a widower. Car Toys Rockwall thinks they can get away with not paying for the damage the caused because of my age and disability they have another thing coming! read more

First off, we went in expecting to buy a stereo touch screen for the car. We expected to spend no more than a grand on the product. We left spending much much more for every we got, and we feel completely satisfied! Darren was our salesperson. He was incredibly knowledgeable, polite, and patient while teaching us about the ins and outs of the stereo industry. After we ordered everything, Jeff took over. His work is impeccable! He's so friendly to be around and works really fast with a tenacity that you rarely see in car related shops. His work is clean and concise. The way car modifications should be. It was such a positive experience working with these two men in this Rockwall location. The one downside - they didn't have the first stereo we wanted in stock. (Forgive me if I get the names wrong) Jeff and Jarod were both excellent in their jobs and knowledge! I came in with my 2010 Ford Edge that had recently been abused by my kids and had been neglected over the years. Jeff and I talked, and he guaranteed I would have my car cleaner than I would imagine before they closed. The total interior job took approx. 2 hours, but I could have never accomplished the same in 6-24 hours. AMAZING results. I cannot give these guys enough credit as the entire crew there was amazing. Never coming back to this place again. Had them do an install for my stereo and subs, brought them all the equipment and harnesses they needed the only think I didn't have was the steering wheel control module. $700 and some odd dollars lager I pick up my car and get it home overall I was relatively pleased with things that was until I noticed my steering wheel controls didn't work. Took the car back up there and calmly asked to speak with the manager. Maybe there was an oversight or maybe it was forgotten I didn't know and I get life happens and mistakes can be made. Talked with the manager and he told me that there was nothing they could do but he would be happy to charge me another $150 to install my controls. After trying to reason with him and showing my receipt for all the work done he basically told me that it was tough luck for me. I was outraged by this because what the hell did I just spend $700 on? I got home and the phone would not connect. So I'm back today and getting a brand new radio installed for free because Jeff is awesome and so is the store manager. Recently I purchased a Groupon for a small SUV and two weeks ago i took my car in to have the interior detailed. I was told to bring it in at 10AM and pick it up at 7PM. Before I left my car, I asked many questions on how and what would be done just so I understood to prevent disappointment when I picked the car up that evening. During the conversation I specifically mentioned that if there was anything at all that the Groupon didn't cover to please call me and I would give the OK to clean. Not one call all day so I thought that I was good to go. Picked up the car at night so all I really noticed were the carpets. They looked great from what I could tell in the lighting so of course I was excited to see how great it was going to look in the daylight. Well, needless to say...I was sorely disappointed. While the carpets did look like they were cleaned, there wasn't much effort put into anything else. My headliner and visors weren't touched, my seat belts weren't touched nor was the center console or the little details like the insides of the door handles. I realize that I did purchase the detailing on a Groupon but come on! I'm now fully convinced that when you do use a coupon of any kind that you also get the discounted effort. I spent a better part of my afternoon during this last weekend cleaning what they did not...and in the process...realized that they ALSO did not clean my leather seats....Yea, def NOT worth the $89 that I spent and if I had paid full price, I would be demanding my money back. A rep from the location did call me and ask if I was satisfied and when I told him what wasn't done, he told me that he would look into it and call me back. I'm still waiting for that call. read more
