Welp there goes my arteries. First time trying Carnaby and it's delicious. lots of parking and friendly staff members. We ordered way too much two -3 piece fish and chips, Cole slaw, 2 piece shrimp, Took it to go. They have tables in the side but it was too hot in Sept 2026. Only finished one fish and half of one shrimp they are pretty big. Tartar sauce was good but you only get one tub per order. Thank you for giving us one additional tartar sauce. I needed to walk it off for the rest of the day.

It's a tight squeeze inside. There's 3 tables and people are pretty kind about sharing/ communal. The food is good and very crispy, but also very greasy. With every bite of fried fish I can feel the oil slipping onto my lips. The rice was just okay but much needed to cut out the grease. The rice had a slight jambalaya taste with small bits of sausage and bell peppers.

A tiny hole in the wall spot with great fish and chips. This place is run by a woman and her family (her son was working the register) and she definitely knows what she's doing. The portions are huge and prices are very affordable, but be prepared as it's cash only and there can be a wait (the mom and son were doing it all!), but definitely worth it as everything comes out piping hot! Fish and zucchini had the perfect amount of breading and they serve all the sauces in squeeze bottles so you don't have to worry about running out. Many people seem to get take out since there is minimal seating, but I definitely loved sitting and eating it immediately after being fried. Service was great. Come support this small, local business!

Carnaby's St. Fish & Chips (La Puente) offers affordable luxury. I ordered the "2 Piece Fish & Chips" ($9). The food is GENEROUS, golden, and fresh! Competitive price point aside, it's prepared and cooked magnificently. Nonstop customers flowed into this POPULAR local, small business. And it's easy to know why. (Important: Cash only. However, I noticed Staff letting customers also pay by Zelle.) I arrived at Carnaby's St. Fish & Chips (La Puente) on Saturday (around 11:48AM). Parking is EASY. The lot is very BIG and spacious. Staff is experienced, hard working, and welcoming. Staff immediately let me know that normal "food preparation wait times" were about 20 minutes that day. Customers can choose To-Go or Dine In. If you're "Dine In," customers can later borrow a big squeeze bottle of tartar sauce for their meal. Generous!! My food took 19 minutes and 46 seconds. As mentioned, I LOVE the "2 Piece Fish & Chips" ($9). It arrived with a perfect golden crisp, and it's a thick, hot fish. Even the fries came crisp and well-seasoned. The extremely low price point made the experience feel surreal. I can easily see these Fish & Chips tasting better than a midscale to upscale restaurant. This meal bordered on luxurious in terms of quality and preparation. Shockingly, I even had leftovers because it was too much food! That $9 meal could have sustained me for an entire day!! On ambiance, Carnaby's St. Fish & Chips (La Puente) is an ugly place. It's well-maintained, but it screams old. The colors are faded; the windows have hideous scratches; and the furniture has rugged marks. There's no gender neutral restroom inside this small business, but I appreciated the two big hand sanitizer bottles. The air also felt a little sticky and humid from the constant cooking, but I appreciated how the ceiling fan was attempting to run on full blast. In addition, Carnaby's St. Fish & Chips (La Puente) is cramped. There's about three interior tables. And there's three outside tables. No music plays. The sound of waiting customers and sizzling stoves is the only noise. Overall, Carnaby's St. Fish & Chips (La Puente) is the CHEAPEST must-try that I've ever mentioned. The food is ridiculously competitive, but it's also very delicious. If you enjoy well-prepared fish & chips, this is an easy recommendation. 5 out of 5!!! "GO!!!!!"

An unassuming restaurant located in a strip mall serving big portions. Got their 2-pc fish and chips $9, 2 shrimp-2 fish and chips combo $14.50, and fried zucchini $5. Our order came out piping hot and fresh with tubs of tartar sauce and ranch and shrimp sauce bottles. Soda in cans and bottled water are $1.50 each. It's a cash only place so come prepared coz the line can get long. The cashier was friendly and took our orders efficiently. There are outside seating options as there are only three tables with chairs inside giving off a super casual intimate vibe.

Pretty good fish and chips! Everyone is so nice. The place is very small so it's probably best to do take out. $9.90 for fish and chips?!? That's a deal you can't beat. Meal is made to order. My fish was very crispy and my fries were lightly seasoned and great! It was pretty oily but I understand it fresh from the fryer. This is definitely the local spot for some fish and chips. Place is cash only and there's tons of parking.

I've been going to this fish and chip spot for the longest time! Their fried rice is so GOOD! Love ordering their shrimp plate. Although, their fish has a lot of breading so just be weary of that! 3 tables inside, so it's a pretty small dining area if you aren't planning on takeout

Carnaby St Fish and Chip is another great find during the Lent season. The food is cheap but extremely delicious. The fish and chips are crispy, crunchy, and the portions are ridiculously big for such a reasonable price. We ordered two of the 4-piece fish and chips, a 3-piece shrimp, zucchini, and coleslaw. Everything was freshly made and very satisfying. Definitely a hidden gem in the La Puente area. We also wanted to order onion rings, but unfortunately they were already sold out. My two sons loved it so much and already asked to come back again. Just a heads up -- it's cash only.

The prices alone give this place 5 stars. Their meals are cheaper than fast food. Cheaper than McDonalds. And the taste is significantly better! The pieces of fish are MASSIVE, I ordered a 2 piece but 1 piece would've been plenty to be full. Overall the food is a little greasy, but not too bad considering it's all deep fried. The zucchini in particular is so well seasoned and flavorful, highly recommend! $1 for bottles of water and $1.50 for cans of soda is unheard of, the owner here clearly isn't trying to price gouge and make a massive profit. They give giant bottles of sauce, not tiny cups they're charging extra for. Big respect to this long standing establishment, I hope it stays here forever!

PRO-TIP: CASH ONLY! Truly a hidden gem in La Puente. It's in the same plaza as Planet Fitness and what used to be the 99 Cents Store. Plenty of parking since it's a large plaza. There's indoor and outdoor seating. It's a bit aged on the inside, but that just gives it more character and you can tell it's a community favorite since each time I've been there and it was opened I always see people lining up or dining inside. Gives a very nostalgic, transported in time vibe. It does get a bit hot inside, but they have a fan turned on too. Service is to the point, fast, and nice enough to let us take their trays and condiments out and return them afterwards. We got their fish sandwich and of course their classic fish and chips. Sandwich is standard on a sesame bun with tomato and lettuce. Chips are nice and crispy. Now the star of the show, the filet fish is super moist and fluffy on the inside. Nicely crisp battered exterior. Went great with their malt vinegar, tartar sauce, and standard ketchup. If you got cash on hand, stop by for a fish fry try.

Bang for your buck and the food is 10/10! I saw this place all over social media and it's right by my house. I came at a Friday night ordering for to go. I wanted to try a little bit of every and they have a combo for two fish and shrimps with chips only for $15! I also ordered the side of onion rings and 7 pcs of zucchini for $5.00 each. The best deal I did see was the lunch special, 1 fish, 3 medium shrimp, with zucchini and fried rice, only $10.00!!! They make everything on the spot, the food came out so freshly hot. the portion is definitely enough with huge pieces of fish and shrimps with side of tar tar sauce and shrimp cocktail sauce. I loooove the the shrimp cockail sauce. It has a sweet taste to it. I enjoyed everything, so crispy and well flavored. We came and there are few people ordered ahead of us, but we still got our food pretty quickly. Not a huge place to dine in but tables are available inside and outside. Please remeber it is CASH ONLY!

I came here after a gym workout at planet fitness to undo my hard work :p. There was a 30 minute wait but it took about 40 which is no biggie. I got the fish and chips and the fish is huge. Value is on point but long story short, I don't think the wait time justifies the value for me. With the amount of fish and fries being fried, the frying oil can lose its freshness quick which can be seen with the French fries. The tar tar sauce was okay and could use a lil more flavor but to each his own.

Fish & shrimp combo w/ fries. Tarter sauce, cocktail sauce, ketchup & malt vinegar
    Cesar G.

Oh wow. Talk about a no-frills amazing restaurant! This place doesn't have much to offer except great food. The battered fish and shrimps are crispy and juicy. Add any of their sauces and it raises it to another level. The tartar sauce is garlicky, cocktail sauce is horseradish heavy and the vinegar has a great aroma. Now the bad news: small interior, cash only, outdated decor, only three tables, humid and food takes a while to come out. But I'll certainly be back!

It did not disappoint! Came out hot and fresh, the batter was the perfect light crispy crunchy texture, fish was soft and flaky. Great flavor. The tartar sauce was good, had a nice lemon kick to it. The fries could've been better, they may have sat too long and were a tad soggy. The branzino with chili sauce is a must order, so flavorful and loved the black/purple rice it came with. Tilapia was cooked perfectly, tasted great with the garlic rice too. Clam chowder was good. Fish taco was good. Calamari was good, not chewy at all, but their cocktail sauce could be better though, missing that punch cocktail sauces normally have. Onion rings were fried perfectly, wish they had like a Wing Stop ranch though because their ranch was not good, it was definitely like a store bought plain no flavor ranch. Service - wonderful! The Fish & Chips was a very popular dish where many tables had ordered at least one of them, but we found the batter to be a bit too thick and greasy. I loved the kaleslaw and might just order a side of that the next time I am here for to-go! The Branzino with Chili Sauce was not what I expected. I had expected spiciness, but it was a bit more on the sweet spicy side for me. There was either no A/C or it was not strong enough but they had a huge industrial fan on while we enjoyed our lunch. Service was very attentive and provided good customer service. The parking lot was a bit packed for a Friday afternoon, but we were both able to find parking near the restaurant. Hi Today July 3rd…read more2026 Friday, we experienced the most ridiculous customer service at your location City of Industry. My husband & I always go to this location, we are not a first timer but we always go there alot. You don't have cups for the water, the manager Lylet Granados offered us a small soup bowl. It is definitely insulting, we are not there to ask for free water, we ordered food, we would like to dine in and enjoy our Friday but you not having cups for the water is not the customer's fault. As a restaurant it is your job to make sure cups are available for customers. It would not be fair to buy a cup for the soda when we don't drink soda and we only drink water. Escalating the issue with the manager didn't help, she didn't offer anything to resolve but she keeps in insisting to offer the small soup bowl. I even asked if she can give us one cup, we just need a drinking cup not a soup bowl. But there's soda cups available. She didn't offer bottle water for purchase and we are willing to pay extra for water bottle. This is very degrading!!! Now, my question to the corporate office .. Is this how you treat your customer? To drink water from a small soup bowl like a dog when there's soda cups available?!!! Small soup bowl is different from drinking cups. You probably one of our favorite place to eat but customer service counts alot. What is the point of having a manager when she can't think out the box? She can't decide to do the right thing for the customer, no critical thinking in situations like this. She told us across the board all location you don't have cups for the water which is a lie because we called Brea location and they have cups for the water. Manager is Lylet Granados should be re trained or needs corrective action for insulting customer. Not sure why would she think it's OK to drink in a small soup bowl. She needs to know difference between bowl and cups. We are expecting a refund on this and we hope you refund us right away!!! We will never ever come back, definitely we will reach out to the Corporate Office!!

I ordered the 2 Piece Battered Fish & Chips (substituted the Kaleslaw for French Fries) for $11.95. I also ordered the New England Clam Chowder ($7.99). It's prepared well! YUM. The fries were perfectly golden, and the fish was fried thoughtfully & skillfully. The ingredients also tastes good quality and fresh. However, the clam chowder tasted like too much cilantro (it had a somewhat soapy taste), and the broth was a little runny and thin. Thankfully, it's well-seasoned, and dumping a pile of crackers had improved the clam chowder's texture and taste. I arrived at California Fish Grill (West Covina) on Wednesday (around 6:36pm). Parking is very easy. The lot is huge since it's near the West Covina Mall. This business is nestled between Gen and Urban Cafe. As mentioned, staff is the highlight. They don't have a sauce bar, but customers can speak with staff for more sauce packets. Overall, I had a shockingly wonderful experience at California Fish Grill (West Covina). I am so happy this location has improved. If wanting to give this place a second chance, I can confidently recommend. 4.8 out of 5!!

I recently discovered a new sustainable seafood restaurant near my house that I hadn't heard much…read moreabout. Curious to try it, I visited and found a variety of seafood options. One feature I really appreciated was the kiosk ordering system, which included pictures of everything on the menu. I ordered the Honey Citrus Shrimp Bowl with avocado. The portion sizes were quite generous, and the shrimp were jumbo and plentiful. Overall, the dish was very tasty and filling. My only criticism is that the avocado cost an extra $1.25. While that's not too steep if you get a decent portion, I only received three slices from one half of the avocado (as shown in the picture). Despite this small issue, I can definitely see myself returning with family and friends.

They have wings, sliders etc. With each meal you get a desert! friend oreo cookie and side of vanilla ice cream. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant has tables and high bar tables along with a sitting bar. If you opt to sit at a higher table you may get sat sooner. We came one time and waited about an hour to be seated. They have a bunch of TV's to watch the games and beers on tap. I took a star off for the parking, it's always packed due to the other businesses in the same shopping center. Also the service is kind of slow, they are always busy so I get it but I feel like maybe they need to hire another person or two to help.

Service: About a 3.0-2.5. 2 servers, nice, but for being such a small place, the service was slow. I get it, they are young and I am sure the owners get comfortable with the staus quo. If they trained them, or hired so.eone with a more sense of urgency, this food joint would rock! Ambiance: A small, strip-mall style hole in the wall. We gave this local place a try and it was woth the trip. Very common 4 top tables with 2 pull-chairs and booth seating along the walls. Over all, we would go back. The pricing was par for the industry, wife and I had the above listed items and fountain drinks. The total was $85. This location is above average due to the freshness of their seafood. Oh, and they brought out dessert with our check. Ice cream and a bińet.
