As a customer, I enjoy their delicious food, but as their next door neighbor I also enjoy their upbeat music on Tuesdays, and the wafting of their delicious tacos that seems to populate my office and remind me that it's Taco Tuesday. It's inconvenient because I am trying to work, and all I can think about is tacos and dancing. But it's also convenient because it's right next door. And here comes the part that few people know - my business happens to share the delivery pathway with this restaurant. Here's what I see every morning - fresh food delivery to the restaurant: tomatoes, limes, cilantro, proteins, etc - you are eating fresh food here because they deliver by the truckload regularly! For my first (and, without a doubt, not my last) trip, I went with the chicken enmoladas: Mexican-style rice, beans garnished with crumbled Cotija (or at least I assume), and three shredded chicken enchiladas swimming in a shallow pool of some of the most delicious black mole sauce I have tasted. Heat, sweet, and salt dance with one another, combining for a balanced yet robust flavor profile. Cliché though it may be, I could drink this stuff through a straw. It was simply THAT delicious. As seen in the attached image, the chicken enmoladas are a work of art for the eyes, the taste buds, and, I'd venture to argue, the soul. For a place that has been around for the relatively lengthy duration of two years, it is a surprise to not see it accrue more reviews. Part of me is torn in contributing to the attraction of attention to what is undoubtedly a gem in the Conejo Valley - one whose accessibility I will enjoy until this place inevitably ends up on local top-eatery lists. If you are in Moorpark - or frankly even remotely in proximity to this phenomenal establishment - you have got to stop in for lunch.

He likes to squeeze in lemon and had to ask multiple times for that side request. Then our young granddaughter ordered the kids' burrito, but the brought the adult version and charged for it. I didn't pay the bill so I didn't realize it right away. Not until it was too late, actually. Dear Hubby and I ordered the shrimp fajitas to share, which had an underwhelming number of shrimp. Whole lot of grilled onions, though. The taste was just so-so. The best item I had was the virgin mango margarita. Otherwise, it was an overpriced meal in chilly surroundings. 391 WEST is the actual address for this place - Yelp should get it right since they've been listed here since they started. I visited this place by accident because everytime I looked I couldn't find it as it was listed with East instead of west. This mexican food restaurant in Moorpark is also a bakery, they do regular cakes and specialty too like flan and tres leches. The fresh fruit cups are delicious by themselves or with a little lime and salt. They also have incredible (original and authentic) fresh waters also known as aguas frescas of strawberry, bannana, mamey, pinneaple, watermelon, cucumber and so many others that are delicious and refreshing. They've got coffee, champurrado, hot chocolate, soda (mexican Jarritos, Fanta, etc, and american coke, Arizona tea's etc.) One of the cool things is that they have mexican candy like bubu lubu and carlos quinto and those delicious plastic spoons with chilli haha!) The best part though is their mexican food, I've had the chilaquiles with egg and chicken, also the chile relleno combination and the burrito, they're both REEEEALLY good, the ham and lengua (tongue) tortas, the flautas or some people call them taquitos amongst other things. I have tried lots of things in the last few years and my kids love the mexican bread from the bakery. They get on me every day they get a chance to treat them to Carla's Bakery. The owner and the workers are great, very homely people and just caring and attentive. They have some PINATAS too! Best Mexican food experience in Moorpark with pricing to compete with some other Moorpark restaurants. Portion size of combination plates are very decent and the Mexican food is authentic. This is not an Americanized Mexican food place. Aguas frescas (fresh waters- kinda like juice) very good and a decent variety switching every day: strawberry, pineapple, coconut, papaya, mango, and other delicious flavors. Customer service is very good with occasional long lines at peak times (am & lunch and dinner time) Not many with the pricing and consistency as Carla's bakery. Recommend that you try everything once, sure you'll find your favorite plate, burrito, or Mexican bread (pan dulce). read more

My friends and I LOVE this place! Great friendly quick service. They always give us extra salsa when we ask for it without hesitation. Their salsa is the BEST!!!! I could drink it lol. It's soooo fresh and tasty! The meat lovers breakfast burrito is very good. We split the burrito because it's big enough to do so, but not gonna lie, sometimes I wish I had the other half when I'm done because it's sooooo good! Out on lunch so i came here for some hispanic pasties! (pan dulce) this place is great they know how to bake! i got a box full of patries and believe me they wont go to waste. they also have a restaurant which is good as well. If your in the mood for some pan dulce stop by and pick some up here you wont regret it! i gave it 4 stars only becuase the cashier was kinda mean but it looked like she was having a bad day so its all good! definately a great hispanic bakery! read more

I already know I'll be back for lunch because the tacos and micheladas looked very tempting. I came in for breakfast though, so that was my focus on this visit. I ordered the rojo chilaquiles, no meat, with an over-medium egg and this dish was a 10/10. The red sauce (almost orange) was packed with flavor without being spicy (a kindness I appreciated at 10am), and the tortilla chips somehow stayed perfectly crunchy. Texturally? A dream. This was one of the best chilaquiles dishes I've had in a very long time, especially in the 805 so I'll definitely be back for these again soon. Portions were perfect and while the dish was simple, it was well executed. I washed it all down with a refreshing jamaica agua fresca. Last note: don't skip the dessert counter. I left with a flan cake, and next time I'm trying their chocoflan hybrid (highly recommended by the staff). This spot is a great local establishment and I really hope more people check them out.

And yet, what emerges from this humble kitchen is something far greater than its surroundings suggest. The tacos arrive unceremoniously--warm tortillas cradling meats prepared with the patience of tradition and the quiet confidence of mastery. Each bite reveals flavors both bold and precise: slow-cooked carnitas with a perfect crisp, salsas that dance between fire and brightness, and the unmistakable depth that only comes from cooking with memory as much as with technique. It is Mexican cooking not dressed for spectacle, but presented in its most honest and soulful form. To say the meal challenged my preconceptions about where great food can come from would be a gross understatement. It did more than that.
