I love how caring Carlos is. He made sure not to damage my hair, and he really took his time to achieve the hair color I wanted. I came in with very dark roots, and he was able to get it this blonde in one day. It took 6 hours. SENSATIONAL... NO REALLY. I promised Carlos that I'm an easy customer, he didn't believe me at first. I truly am... I've done a million hair shows and my hair has been every color and cut under the sun. I don't tend to be finicky and have a lot of trust. But most stylists tend toward a certain cut with my hair texture and facial structure, and I'm a-ok with that too. Carlos called it "The Rachael"... but, whatever works right? (I think my head looks better than Jennifer's though, haha!!) Carlos was communicative, meticulous, and quick (I actually don't even remember him blow drying my thick, curly hair-- did that even happen? When?!?) His salon is in a collection of mini-salons, and it provides privacy and almost demands nothing but one-on-one attention. But the TRUE litmus test... I waited a few days to write this, because I booked my husband for a haircut as well. AND I booked him for a scalp treatment. I'm SO GLAD I DID. My husband had what we thought, according to a dermatologist, psoriasis on his scalp. For years I thought that it wasn't being successfully treated because my husband wasn't very consistent in applying the medication. And I understood why-- it's powerful stuff, I think it even might be a steroid, and who wants to put that on their scalp all the time? But he was losing his hair because of it, and his hair was thinning out, and his scalp and behind his ears was often red, scaley, and inflamed. And it was truly sad. DOCTOR CARLOS PACHECO to the rescue-- NO DOUBT. For and extra $20 (or was it $25?) Carlos CORRECTLY diagnosed my husband, assuring him it was not psoriasis but was in fact some sort of oil and skin buildup and applied his all natural botanical citrus scalp treatment. My husband called me from the salon and said, "oh my gawd... he's spending SO MUCH TIME on my scalp-- I think he's really getting at the root of the problem!!" Carlos gave him a haircut... but he, no joke, gave US peace of mind and a years-long end to the quest for "what is wrong" with Robert's scalp. My husband came home crusty-scalp free... his skin underneath was baby-thin and pink... but he said it didn't bother him nor did it feel raw in the least bit. It's just "new skin" that is going to get a fresh start in life... and get this-- Carlos said his hair follicles will finally be able to gear up for regrowth! Carlos gave Rob a sample of the all natural botanical and citrus serum that was used, and I think we may have to purchase it in bulk. I also think that Carlos should rip the dermatologists' lab coat off and don it on himself, and most importantly, take the doctor's salary that he is rightfully owed. ... CARLOS IS AMAZING. it had been WAY too long since my last cut, this is the best haircutting experience I ever had. He really takes his time to do any necessary treatments on hair and scalp before going into the cuts, sent me home with some samples of products I liked and also some literature to help me figure out my mom's hair loss issues as of late. I Pre-Booked my next appt with him on the spot and purchased a suite of products from him (all natural botanicals and no sulfates! yay!) Overall great experience he's my new go-to stylist now. he really earned some bonus points for the product recommendations for my mom, the booklet he sent me home with helped me determine what she's going through isn't genetic but related to a recent illness she had. My Hair Guy was Unavailable so I checked out someone new in the area. The salon design is modern and clean. Good Music. It felt very covid safe as well. It's a private suite so it's only the 2 of you in the space. He also told me that he specifically got a private suite to be able to accommodate customers better during Covid. I've gone back multiple times to see him to get my blonde roots done. His prices are reasonable.
