Terrible customer service we waited over an hour for our food. When we got our food it was already cold. We waited about 30 mins to get our order taken. I wouldn't recommend it to any of my friends. The food wasn't even worth the wait. Such a terrible place. read more

We were looking for a place to eat lunch before heading to the Wildlife Safari and found this restaurant on yelp. Fajitas were mentioned in one of the reviews and since I love fajitas I thought I'd give it a try. I was definitely not disappointed! The steak was delicious and flavorful. It wasn't overflowing with meat but there was plenty to use with the tortillas that came with it, with a few extra pieces for my husband to steal (he was a bit jealous he hadn't ordered them himself ). My husband had the tacos and said they were good, as well. The only thing I would have changed is a little more heat in the salsa. Not the best salsa I've had but definitely not the worst. All in all, an excellent place to stop for a meal. We'll be back the next time we're in town! read more

Let me just say, salsa that starts out sweet and then ends with a spicy kick is a salsa made for me! The green salsa was delicious. Our server was very on top of our every need. Wasn't expecting a lot. What a pleasant surprise. Clean, courteous service. Ordered the house special salad and nachos. In both dishes the meats were incredibly well seasoned. SOGGY TOSTADA WITH PARMESAN CHEESE! So disappointed as this was the Picky families fourth visit. It is now our last visit. The other dinning experiences were... okay. Passable. But this time just not up to our standards. Mr. and Little Miss Picky ordered Chili Rellenos and they were "just okay." Mrs. Picky ordered the Tostada Mexicana. Knowing that most Mexican restaurants are stingy with putting cheese on tostada's for some strange reason, purposely asked for more cheese on the tostada. But Nay Nay, when it was brought to me it was lightly sprinkled... get this, with Parmesan cheese! Second problem was that it was so soggy I could not would not eat it! I sent it back telling the manager it was inedible and asking why would they put an Italian cheese on a Mexican dish!! He acted rude to us as if we were the idiots! Ever since they opened the restaurant, they've put Parmesan cheese on the tostadas, he said proudly. Do they put Parmesan Italian cheese on tacos, NO! It's simply a way of cheaping out. Even had they put the correct cheese on it, I could not eat it as it was so soggy. So, the lesson for today; Italy is in Europe. Mexico is not. Pass up the tostadas. The first basket of tortilla chips are good, the second basket are ALL stale. read more

The down home Mexican culture oozes throughout the wait staff, and they are all personable and very friendly. Everything about this restaurant made my 1st visit a success! First bonus points that it's a "Stand Alone" restaurant, not squeezed in-between two other businesses in a strip mall. 2nd they have booths and not just tables and chairs. Staff was friendly and service was prompt. Food was delicious and included all the chips & salsa you want too! Bar area was completely away from the main dining area which subdues any loud noises, but just the same there's a few tables in there too and a mini Slot Machine area too. I live in Green and will definitely be going here when I don't want to drive up the hill. read more

Outstanding Mexican food and drinks! Very neat and clean, fast service for seating, water and drink orders taken promptly and excellent food and drink menu. We have eaten here many times for lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed or had anything bad at all. You will not be disappointed with this place. P.S. We were travelling through town and selected Carlos Restaurante based on the Yelp reviews. I can see why it receives such a high rating. The service was fast and pleasant and the food was delicious! It is a very clean establishment too. I had a shredded beef and a cheese enchilada along with the rice and beans. I ate every bite and did not feel heavy and/or greasy afterwards. My husband had the Avocado Salad and was pleased as well. I highly recommend Carlos! read more

Carlos Restaurant has the best Mexican food in Douglas County, Oregon. I have been ordering food from this restaurant for at least 13 years. Every time I have ate at this restaurant, the food has been great. Portions are large and the food tastes very authentic. Recently, I ordered two of the #3 Burrito Ranchero, shredded beef and it always comes with guacamole but this time it only came with one sliced piece of avocado. I really missed the guacamole, which is the best I have ever tasted. I wondered why the guacamole was not included this time. I hope the guacamole comes back with this dish. read more

Good food, great people! Casual Mexican food, the menu is really large, so there is something for everyone to be certain. If you go on somebody's birthday they will put a big Sombrero on the birthday party and sing for you. So close to 5 star. The Fajitas were the best I've had in years and Im from Vegas. The chips were lacking but the gauc was great. Also they seemed under staffed as it took a while before we got service and then a while for us to be able to order food. Minor setback because it is Mexican done right. read more

Had a lunch date with my Lil' Sissy...I was in mood for Mexican my Sister recommended Carlos' we live about 20mins away. Very clean. Service is superior!!! Quick to get seated...very friendly, happy employees. Chips & salsa & drinks came right up no long wait...the chips nice warm fresh & salsa with side beens yummy...my soda was great not watered down. I ordered basic combo meal with Chicken Taco Cheese Enchilada...the Chicken Taco waaay better then expected. They actually fry the shell around the meat instead of those cheap crunchy shells you get at any other mexican rest or grocery store....been dreaming about Taco since. The Cheese Enchilada had a lot of flavor in the sauce...not just one noted tomato sauce. THNX for the SUPER food & enjoyable environment for a rare lunch date with my Sister. Im from Mexico originally so I like strong spicy tastes and my wife is vegetarian, so finding a place in which we are both satisfied is a little hard. However we ate very happy at this place, the food is very Mexican authentic, they have a lot off vegetarian options. Why am I not giving them 5 stars? I think a bigger selection of sauces would greatly improve the food ,(tomatillo sauce, red sauce) and the service was a little slow, might be they seem to be a little understaffed. read more

I was so exited when we recently moved to the area to find a great Mexican restaurant. Having been several times I am very disappointed in the service and the food quality I have received on the last two visits. Shame on me for coming back after I received bad service and cold food the first time.I really just thought it was a bad night however, once again we asked for seating in the bar. Our waiter took drink orders immediately and then it was like her forgot us once he delivered the drinks. He finally came to take our food order and then we waited for over a half hour before it was delivered. When delivered out food was cold and mediocre at best. When asked why the delay we were told the potato skins take awhile. Could we not have been told this at the time we ordered? Because the food was already cold we just decided to leave. We paid the bill and explained our situation to the cashier however, she showed little concern. I spent a good amount on dinner and drinks and am extremely disappointed in what I got for the money. When I called the manager once I got home it was as if "that's to bad". I have been in retail for many years and this is not the way you treat customers. I doubt i will be back. read more
