I generally like Carls Jr, and look forward to their new burgers, sandwiches or whatever. So, typical Carls Jr. food and general atmosphere. This location though has some issues. The food is sometimes overlooked (burnt), or your food comes to you cold. Who wants to eat a cold burger or fries. The other drawback of this store is that it that the restaurant and seating area are not consistently kept clean. If I'm really craving Carls, I'll do DT and take my chances, most often I'll drive to the one in. Bonita which is much better. read more

I was already freaked out because I just heard this story about a midget who dresses up as a clown and hinds in the back of cars and in houses. After reading all the reviews on this establishment,.. we took the chance of trying out this place. (drive through) Did not wait since we went late at night (10ish pm) Despite the negative reviews on customer service,.. we were fortunate to received better service than most. Although,.. the young woman was a bit frustrated it would seem. But,..not expecting any smile from someone who works at a fastfood chain especially at night. Although, this does not help any establishment who needs customers - so,... staff needs to understand that they are providing service!!!! Food - burgers tasted like actual burger, and the similarity of the burger to the actual advertisement is legit. The meat was not dry and completely different from any other fastfood place (better). Fries was freshly made and salted properly. Ensured ordered food was correct before leaving (do this always from any drive thru so don't have to go back). They had my order correct so plus for them. Drive thru exit was blocked by Walmart shopping cart which of course I had to move myself!!!! Overall,.... customer service from this establishment is sub-par and requires better training for staff. I called the store and they said they recently changed to chicken with no antibiotics, which explains why it tasted so different. It was so chewy and almost like a rubbery texture- so weird. My wife bought four small milk shakes today. The cost was $15.62. The cashier charged her card $1,562.94!!!! They refunded it right away. Obviously mistakes happen, but the shift manager said it would take up to 3 days to get refunded. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! Insane how in this day they can't cancel an incorrect transaction. Apparently they think I'm made of money. I asked to speak to the General Manager. The shift manager said the GM wouldn't call me because he already clocked out for the day. She also said the District Manager said the same thing. So I'm going to have to float Carl's Jr. $1,546.94 (net of the 4 milkshakes) for up to three days. There is a guy named Edwin that works there as a manager, he is horrible ,when I went through the drive thru he messed up my order and when I came back to get it corrected. He then insisted he put my order in the bag when he didn't. He treated me like trash and said some rude things to me . He called me a liar and then lied about checking his cameras and said that they could "see through bags" and he knew my nonexistent burger was in my bag. All in all it's a horrible place to go because there is a horrible human being there. I hope that in the future he is fired or something so that I can again enjoy Carl's Jr. Until then you have at least one customer boycotting your stores because of Edwin. read more

It is unfortunate that the management and owner/s of this Carl's Jr. seem to ignore the complaints with regard to customer service at this location. I should have checked the reviews before going to grab dinner here. The Drive-Thru was not crowded. However, the woman on the intercom obviously lacked customer service training. She sounded like an angry squeaky mouse that detests not having real authority and control over anyone, anything or her life in general. Through the take out window, her piercing mousy voice made her stand out from the other's. She took the order on the intercom, but a different woman was at the window to hand me my order and take my money. I assume this is the reason why the woman just took my money without repeating my order back to verify it was correct. In the meantime, Miss Mousy was squawking in the background with her co-workers while failing to fake being busy, but succeeding at being bossy towards her peers. This Carl's Jr. franchise needs to invest in customer service training. It's management team should give damn and it's owner/s should care enough to ensure the products and service they provide meets the guidelines set by the business and the expectations of its customers. read more

This is a copy of the information I sent to Corporate on July 13. I went through the drive thru at a local Carl's Jr. at 2 AM on July 12. I order 2 of the $4 Real Deals. At the window, I asked the attendant if I could have one of the cheeseburgers with no pickles. She confirmed and charged my card. When I received my Credit Card Receipt, it showed $12.63 as opposed to the $10.48 it showed on the screen before. I asked if I could get an itemized receipt to see if there were any discrepancies. It turns out that the attendant had misunderstood me and thought that I want another cheeseburger with no pickles, so I was charged with an additional Big Cheeseburger. I tried explaining that this was not what I wanted. I did not want an additional cheeseburger, just one of the ones I already had with no pickles. She debated me and told me that is not what I wanted. She told me I had misspoken and that I wanted another cheeseburger. She was very rude and did not seem to understand my explanation. After about five minutes of my insisting that she had overcharged me and given me the wrong item, she went to a cash register and gave me back the $1.99 that she had overcharged me for. It was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever been through. I did not misspeak, and I did not appreciate being told that I was wrong over and over again. I tried calling the number listed at the top of the receipt, (619) 421-9257, but I kept getting the busy signal. The restaurant number is 100281, and my order number was 275912. Attached is a copy of the email that Corporate sent me in response: Dear Ms. Janke, Thank you very much for taking the time to inform us of the experience you had at our Chula Vista, CA restaurant.
