I had an amazing experience at this Carl's Jr. today. I accidentally placed an order for a BYOB meal and a shake at the wrong location, and I thought it was going to be a headache to sort out. Thankfully, Melissa, the manager, and the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful and understanding. Instead of making the situation difficult, they went above and beyond to help me get everything figured out quickly and professionally. Everyone I spoke with was friendly, patient, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure I had a good experience. Customer service like this is hard to find these days, and Melissa and her team definitely deserve recognition for how they treated me. Tbh customer service here is good. But there's a better value in food over in and out. I'm trying to figure out how my meal was so much. There was a time when Carl's Jr had better quality overall considering it is in the fast-food category. It has become harder to find across all locations it seems. Occasionally you will be delighted in what you receive for the price you pay. For some reason, the best locations I've been to are actually in Chula Vista. Well this one is the closest to work, and I can get there and back in my 30 minute lunch break. Coupons are regularly sent to my address and I thought I would use one for a breakfast burrito. I remember getting this at a Chula Vista location and it was better than expected. Here, different story. The burrito was actually warm on the first 2 bites, then was cold on the third bite. I was pretty disappointed in this obviously. Hey, my expectations are low anyway for any fast food establishment but this I consider unacceptable. Most would just throw it away and never go back. I took a different approach. I called the restaurant, explaining what happened and the lady mentioned "ok just bring back the receipt and the item today and we will give you something else." I am big on accountability regardless of the situation. I didn't even spend $5, but it is a matter of principle. Constructive criticism is necessary sometimes. When I arrived, the manager lady had an attitude with me and even asked me "why did I eat half of the burrito?" I told her it was warm initially then cold on 3rd bite. She scoffed unprofessionally and said "oh you used a coupon so I can only give you credit for the amount you spent." I said, "ok what can I get?" "One of the classic double cheeseburgers, she said. So I got the burger and headed home. 5 minutes into my drive I decided to tear into that burger. And you know what? Take a wild guess. Even the "fresh" burger, just prepared, was barely lukewarm! All right... the last time I stepped foot in here was over 10 years ago! I'm not a fan of fast food joints but I just couldn't resist the idea of trying the beyond burger It was exactly how I expected it to be, it tasted like a regular cheese burger. It had all the guilt of eating a burger but replaced with a beyond meat patty. I was a actually pleasantly surprised at how well they cooked it. It had the real texture and taste of a all beef patty. The price for the beyond burger alone is over $6 close to $7. Combo is $9 almost $10. Throw in a small fry and it took me to $9 in total. Not a $2 fast food meal that's for sure but cheaper than sit down restaurants. Bf ordered jalapeños poppers watch out for those, I bit into one and hot molten cheese spewed out. Burned my lip a bit so watch out. Overall what can I say it's a fast food joint. The beyond burger was delicious though and it fulfilled my burger craving. I only ordered two chicken tender combos and it took 20 + minutes to get my food. Keep in mind there was no one in front of me and no one behind me so I don't know what took them so long it's not like they were slammed with orders. They parked me to the side which I have no problem with. Next thing I know they have out orders to cars coming through while I sat there waiting for mine . And to top it all off when I get home I see they didn't give me the correct items I asked for. Seriously this location needs to get it together. Came in for a quick bite. Ordered a single jalapeño burger and small drink. What came out was a double so I had to remove one of the patties. But this was by far the greasiest burger I have ever had. I think I had to use 30 napkins. The tomato was flavorless and the lettuce was soggy so had to remove that too. I went through drive-thru this morning for breakfast and when I drive up to the speaker to order nobody asked me what I would like to order. I'm not a huge fan of Carl's Jr, but they do have a few items I like. During breakfast hours I love their biscuits. They are the best of all fast food restaurants and even better than a lot of sit down restaurants. They are a little crisp on the outside and slightly salty. The biscuits and gravy are actually pretty decent as well. If you haven't tried them, you are missing out. For lunch I like the six dollar burger and there is usually a special burger for about a month. If I'm feeling cheap my all time favorite dollar (ish) sandwich is the spicy chicken. Be warned is a press and formed chicken patty, but the flavor is good and it is simple with iceberg lettuce and mayo. This location in particular is pretty good. They keep the lines moving pretty fast in the morning and at lunch and the staff is fine. They are not overly friendly but they are efficient which is what I care more about. Also, if you visit semi-frequently they have an app where you ear rewards by checking in, it includes bogo offers, free items, and coupons. read more

This franchise really needs to improve. I understand there are staffing challenges currently but this place needs better management to work through it. They don't serve some items listed on their menu and not because of supply chain issues. When trying to order a side salad with my combo the person said, and I quote "yeah, we don't make those, they take too much time." Just take that off the menu board then. That leads to the other poor management habits happening here. Several times now, during what I would call normal dining or drive thru hours they are closed. Being closed isn't so much the problem as them leaving on all their lights inside and out making it appear as if they are open. Today, at 7:15pm all lights are on people are inside however when I drive up they say they've been closed for 30 minutes. Closing at 6:45pm seems very odd to me and leads me to believe they just don't want to work, like making the salads. All in all this was the last straw for me. I won't ever come back. I called and they said it's drive through only so when to the drive through and no response. It's insane how often this happens at this location. The owner should know that the employees are basically sitting in the back with the store completely shut down. I went to this location because it stated online that they were open until 10. I went to both the side door and the front doors before 9:40 pm and they were both locked. It stated clearly on the sign that the store was open until ten. What irritated me was when I was walking up to the door an employee looked at me and walked to the back. He could at least have motioned that they decided to close early. I decided to try the drive-thru, the women working seemed to speak something that I couldn't understand, I waited to hear a clearer voice. After a few seconds the one that spoke seemed upset and irritated, not someone I felt safe ordering food from. I drove away and went to the McDonald's in Tierrasanta where I received clear, respectful service. It seems, according to Yelp, that many Carl's Jr. locations in San Diego have bad reviews. Clean and very large joint. Having enjoyed Beyond Meat burger and sausage products we came here to try the new Beyond Burger. I forgot how expensive Carl's really is ($10 give or take for a full meal)! That isn't really a complaint, just a fact when compared to other fast food such as Jack in the Box, Wendy's, McDonalds, etc. That being said, you get what you pay for and in general the preparation and ingredients used are higher quality, better tasting and more attractive in appearance. The Beyond Burger was good enough especially being a meat alternative. Fries and jalapeño cheese poppers were delish. All hot and ready at order. Service was fast and polite. read more

Very pissed off at this location. My parents went in after a really long drive and two female employees during late afternoon shift on a Saturday were incredibly racist toward her. They not only refused to provide simple condiments after she asked politely several times and they chose to visibly ignore her, but they also made jokes about her to the people in drive thru and laughed in her face. Not until a long wait they were flat out rude when they gave her the bare minimum condiments possible and told her that she should speak up and say what she wants as if making fun of her accent. (She's a native Spanish speaker and her English is broken) I know working in fast food might not be enjoyable to those employees but I don't think Carl's Jr. should allow racism toward their customers. read more

This place is clean, close to work, and fast. I stopped by this place occasionally for lunch because it is really close to my work. The service is always quick and the food always taste like it suppose to. The prices are decent and they don't have an extensive dollar menu, but if you been to any Carl's Jr you would know that. The staff here is friendly and they bring the food to you when you dine in. with a smile. What other fast food chain will bring your order to you when you dine in? This restaurant chain makes you feel like you are more than a customer when they deliver your meal to you. It is nice to see good customer service in a fast food restaurant, especially during a lunch rush. This place gets three stars because of fast and friendly service. NOW, those made from scratch biscuits are too damn tasty to pass up and even more so when they are having the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese biscuit at the special price of 2 for $2 . Damn you Carl Karcher and the fabulous taste of your new biscuits. Since the food and the pricing here is consistent with any other Carl's Jr., I won't comment too much on that.. if you've been to any Carl's Jr., this place won't be any different in those regards. This place is pretty clean, inside and out. They've done some remodels recently to freshen the place up, and they've done a good job. The staff here is generally pretty friendly, moreso than they used to be. The drive-thru has always been very fast and accurate. My only complaint is the parking situation... this place can be PACKED... it might take a little while to find a parking space, but I think it's worth it. read more
