Oklahoma seems to have a certain pride when it comes to burger joints that keep it simple. Tulsa…read morehas many chains, local restaurants and pop-ups that are familiar and filling. Encroaching on a seemingly crowded market can be tough but somehow Howdy feels like an already-established diner. While many newer burger places attempt to overwhelm the consumer, Howdy Burger's approach seems to be keeping things simple and delivering what the people want while staying true to the "burger joint" identity. I've had Howdy Burger 2 or 3 times through the years. My first visit was likely in/at Mother Road Market but a more recent visit was on October 29th (2025). In the midst of an economic stall (the federal government was shut down for 4 weeks at that point), eating out seemed like a luxury. I visited around 2pm for lunch. The weather was chilly and the staff was readily available. I was greeted and I browsed the menu for about 2mins before ordering. I ended up getting a single burger & rodeo fries. Afterwards, me & the lady cashier had a brief conversation about the state of the world as business was slower than usual. The restaurant isn't huge but it was well maintained. I sat near the West windows and the food came out shortly after. The highlight of the food was easily the burger itself. It was a decent size, the bread was soft, and the patty was just thick enough. Each bite was equally satisfying as they didn't hold back on the toppings. I will say that the fries are pretty standard, even with the extra toppings. I don't think the Rodeo Fries are worth wild but it didn't hurt to try. Lastly, I LOVE the variety of sauces they offer and the staff are happy to add them directly onto the sandwich or place them on the side. I've since returned to have the Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was just as good, if not better, than most famed chicken sandwich spots. I wasn't familiar with Howdy for a while and, as mentioned, there are many other places to get a cheeseburger, sandwich and/or fries. But what I like about Howdy is that they don't try too hard, they know what sells and they offer great service. Considering the price, consistency in their products and good people behind the counter, Howdy Burger is good enough to replace your favorite burger chain and/or fast food spot.

Smashed thin and came out crunchy on the edges. Enough toppings to keep you wanting more. Drive through attendant was very pleasant and quickly got us our food. Thumbs up!

I'm on a huge hamburger kick. Looking for mom n pop places…read more Having been to Tulsa a few times yrs ago, I checked Yelp and DDD and both had Hanks listed. And bing in town on business, I had to go. I went the single meat w/ chz and. Risky FFs. Hanks did not disappoint. Good ol' fashioned juicy chz burger. One where the meat juices mix with the mayo and chz and oh so good. Very filling. And the FFs so crispy. Yo won't be disappointed. Tip: for the best burger deal, get Hank's 1/2 lb special. Way cheaper than buying single patty burger, FFs and drink separate. It's a dbl meat.

The menu is straight forward, straight out of the 60's style, and the place was poppin' at 2:30 in the afternoon. I ordered the Hank's special with cheese and pickles and onions as my only produce. I also ordered tots. I found out later that I could've got them "loaded", which entails tots being smothered in chili and cheese. Next time for sure. My wife had the single with fries. The fries came out piping hot and for simple fries, they were crisp and tasty. My wife's only complaint is the lettuce was wilty, and that is she doesn't like the onions grilled into the burger. That's not a knock on Hank's, just her preference. Me, I love grilled onions on and in my burger. The burger bun was soft and melded with the burger and cheese into a burger nirvana. I look forward to trying their chili cheese tots next time and their milkshakes looked very tasty. We'll be back for sure.

They weren't very busy and after trying the food I cannot understand why they weren't packed! When you walk in there are kiosks that you order from. I don't mind this at all but I did want to ask about their Kilauea chicken and the spice level since they described it as lava hot. I just went ahead and ordered without inquiring with a real person. No big deal I ordered the Molokai chicken plate and my son got the Honolulu chicken plate. I also got a side of pineapple and my son got a side of spam musubi. The portion size was generous! The chicken was TENDER. The rice was cooked perfectly and the macaroni salad put that Walmart macaroni salad to SHAME! It was delicious! My son who doesn't like macaroni salad completely cleared his plate! He basically inhaled the spam musibi and I'll say the side of fresh pineapple was delicious! I was completely stuffed and there wasn't a crumb left between us. For a franchise it's really excellent and I highly recommend! I will be back soon! Oh and my son mentioned the bathrooms being nicely decorated and very clean, so that's always a plus!

We tried this place three times and all those times something was bad with the food. Now this is my opinion, maybe others have a different opinion on the food but it seems like it's just just pre-cooked chicken doused in sauce. I think the prices are really expensive for the food you get I'm sorry, but I just don't get why this restaurant is still open.
